What We Know About the Suspect in the Monterey Park Massacre; Man Who Wrestled Gun Away From Shooting Suspect Speaks Out

Brandon Tsay is being hailed as a hero for stopping the Monterey Park mass shooter at the Lai Lai Ballroom in Alhambra, California. He told ABC that the incident has left him “shook.”

“It was Chinese New Year’s. We were hosting a social dance party. I was in the lobby. It was late into the evening, most of our customers already left. I wasn’t paying attention to the front door — I was looking into the dance ballroom, the dance floor, and this is when I heard the sound of the front door quickly closing and instantly followed by the sound of metal object clinking together as if they were rubbing,” Tsay said. “That’s when I turned around and saw that there was an Asian man holding a gun.” . . .

The man was identified as 72-year-old Huu Can Tran, who later died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, CNN had previously reported. Tsay said he didn’t recognize the shooter.

“He didn’t seem like he was here for any money, he wasn’t here to rob us,” Tsay said. “When he was looking around the room it seemed like he was looking for targets – people to harm.” . . .

“When I got the courage, I lunged at him with both my hands, grabbed the weapon and we had a struggle. We struggled into the lobby, trying to get this gun away from each other,” Tsay said. “He was hitting me across the face. Bashing the back of my head. I was trying to use my elbows to separate the gun away from him, create some distance.” (Read more from “What We Know About the Suspect in the Monterey Park Massacre; Man Who Wrestled Gun Away From Shooting Suspect Speaks Out” HERE)

Elon Musk Says He Suffered ‘Major Side Effects’ From Booster Shot, Felt Like He Was ‘Dying for Several Days’ — But His Healthy Cousin Fared Worse

Elon Musk admitted Friday evening to suffering “major side effects” after he received his second COVID booster shot — a shot he indicated was obligatory on account of business travel.

This admission came after Rasmussen Reports published recent survey results revealing both the apparent prevalence of vaccine side effects and the majority desire for a congressional investigation into how the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) handled vaccine safety. . .

In a follow-up Twitter post referencing these takeaways, Rasmussen posed the question, “How many people does CDC estimate had major side effects?”

Elon Musk responded to the post after it had been retweeted by Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams, providing a brief personal account of the troubles he faced after receiving his second booster shot.

Musk wrote, “I had major side effects from my second booster shot. Felt like I was dying for several days. Hopefully, no permanent damage, but I dunno.”

Report: DOJ Weighs Searching More Locations Linked to Joe Biden for Classified Docs

The Justice Department (DOJ) is reportedly considering launching additional searches for classified documents at more locations linked to President Joe Biden, CBS News reported Sunday.

The potential for additional searches comes as the DOJ scoured Biden’s Wilmington residence Friday and found six more items consisting of with classified marking, according to Biden’s personal attorney Bob Bauer. The content of the classified materials is unknown.

Bauer claimed Saturday that Biden offered to allow the FBI to conduct the search led by the DOJ. It is unclear if Biden has offered to permit the DOJ to conduct further searches at separate locations linked to Biden.

The White House had previously claimed on January 14 that all searches for all classified documents were completed.

The trove unearthed Friday is in addition to the about 25 classified documents found by Biden’s personal attorneys in past weeks at the Penn Biden Center and Biden’s residence. (Read more from “Report: DOJ Weighs Searching More Locations Linked to Joe Biden for Classified Docs” HERE)

US Border Patrol Polygraph Test Wipes Out Half of Eligible Applicants

Nearly half of new US Customs and Border Protection recruits are failing mandatory polygraph tests, causing a crisis in the agency which is struggling to replace thousands of agents who are scheduled to retire in the near future, according to a report.

“We’re losing a lot of people, including those who have prior military service, who have active security clearances, and they fail a CBP polygraph,” Jon Anfinsen, vice president of the National Border Patrol Council, told Fox News this week. “It doesn’t make any sense.”

Anfinsen added that nearly 50 percent fail the polygraph or lie-detector component of the vetting process, putting a strain on the federal agency’s capability to hire new agents.

Although the tests are not admissible in court and have been banned by most private companies to screen employees, they have been mandatory for Border Patrol for the last 10 years. (Read more from “US Border Patrol Polygraph Test Wipes Out Half of Eligible Applicants” HERE)

White House, DOJ Worked Together to Conceal Biden’s Classified Doc Scandal: Report

The White House and the Department of Justice (DOJ) worked together to conceal the discovery of President Joe Biden’s classified documents for months, according to The Washington Post (WaPo).

Days after the first trove of documents was discovered at the Penn Biden Center, a senior official in the DOJ wrote a letter to Biden’s personal attorney, Bob Bauer, asking for him to cooperate in the inquiry, WaPo reported.

The official also asked Bauer to get the documents but to not look inside, and requested for him to disclose where more documents could be located, according to the outlet. More documents were discovered at Biden’s Delaware residence Dec. 20, Jan. 10 and Jan. 11.

The White House had initially endeavored to find out how the documents had gotten to the Penn Biden Center and other locations, but on Nov. 10, the DOJ said it would be taking over the investigation, two anonymous sources told WaPo.

Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco refused to say Wednesday if law enforcement officials told Biden administration officials to stay quiet, according to the outlet. (Read more from “White House, DOJ Worked Together to Conceal Biden’s Classified Doc Scandal: Report” HERE)

World Economic Forum Plots Misinformation Plan

The World Economic Forum (WEF) rings in the New Year with its annual meeting, held in Davos, Switzerland, each January. The meeting “will convene leaders from government, business and civil society to address the state of the world and discuss priorities for the year ahead,” according to WEF.

In 2023, the theme is “cooperation in a fragmented world,” with WEF noting, “The world today is at a critical inflection point. The sheer number of ongoing crises calls for bold collective action.” What will this bold collective action entail? A key theme being discussed at one of its sessions is countering “misinformation,” also known as silencing and censoring any and all opposition. . .

WEF is an unelected global organization with self-appointed leaders. How it intends to define the misinformation it’s targeting as one of its key 2023 initiatives is unknown, but it’s dubbed the “cumulative ‘threats’ black swan events.” In a description for its Countering Threats in the Age of Black Swans session, it’s noted:

“As black swan events proliferate, threats that were once considered outliers are becoming commonplace. This is compounded by a wide range of actors with access to sophisticated technology and weaponry, as well as an ever-increasing capacity to spread misinformation. How can we begin to predict the unpredictable in mitigating and countering security threats from black swan events?”

In December 2022, WEF already started damage control for its Davos meeting, stating in a separate post that it has “weathered criticism as a gathering of elites and in recent years the Forum has been targeted by disinformation campaigns.” As Reclaim the Net noted, this suggests the “group deems criticism of the WEF and challenging mainstream Covid-19 narratives to be misinformation.” (Read more from “World Economic Forum Plots Misinformation Plan” HERE)

Milley: ‘Very, Very Difficult’ for Ukraine to Push Russia Out This Year

Ukraine will have an incredibly difficult time pushing Russia out of its territory this year, Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said on Friday, and he reiterated his belief that the war will most likely end at the negotiating table.

Milley provided his most recent perspective on the war in Ukraine during a press conference with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin in Germany following a high-stakes meeting at Ramstein Air Base with defense leaders from roughly 50 countries. The Defense Contact Group convenes monthly to discuss the latest developments in the war, and this was its eighth meeting.

“From a military standpoint, I still maintain that for this year, it would be very, very difficult to militarily eject the Russian forces from every inch of Russian-occupied Ukraine,” he said, noting that future Ukrainian battlefield successes would be contingent upon the delivery and training of the newly allocated security aid to Ukraine from the United States and other Western countries.

“What can happen is a continued defense, stabilizing the front,” Milley added. “I think it’s possible to clearly do that. I think depending on the delivery and training of all of this equipment. I do think it’s very, very possible for the Ukrainians to run a significant tactical or even operational level offensive operation to liberate as much Ukrainian territory as possible.” (Read more from “Milley: ‘Very, Very Difficult’ for Ukraine to Push Russia Out This Year” HERE)

Biden Finally Releases Statement Over Classified Document Scandal

President Joe Biden responded to the investigation into him Thursday over his handling of classified material by saying that he has “no regrets” over his actions.

Classified documents connected with Biden were first found in his private office at the Penn Biden Center, a think tank in Washington, D.C., on November 2, less than a week before the 2022 midterm elections. Since then, Biden’s attorneys have located more classified documents at Biden’s home in Wilmington on three separate occasions: an unspecified number found in the garage on December 20, one document found in Biden’s study on January 11, and five more found in the study on January 12.

“We’re fully cooperating, looking forward to getting this resolved quickly,” Biden said following remarks on the ongoing recovery efforts in California following recent storms. “I think you’re gonna find there’s nothing there. I have no regrets. I’m following what the lawyers have told me they want me to do — that’s exactly what we’re doing. There’s no there, there.”

Biden attacked the reporter who asked the question, saying that it “quite frankly bugs” him that the question was asked.

Gen Z, Millennials Become More Pro-Life After Learning About Abortion Law: POLL

Millennials and members of Generation Z opposed abortion restrictions more strongly after learning what the landmark abortion case Roe v. Wade permitted, according to a poll released by Students For Life (SFL) Thursday.

The poll, conducted by SFL, a leading pro-life organization that works primarily with students in high school and in college, and YouGov-Vinea found that, initially, 52% of Gen Z and Millennials supported codifying abortion restrictions allowed under Roe. However, after being informed of the restrictions permitted by Roe, the number of those supporting codifying it dropped down to 37%, and those in opposition to codifying Roe increased by 25 points from 22% to 47%.

Voters were initially asked whether or not they were in favor of codifying Roe v. Wade, which was overturned in June 2022, without any further information or questions, according to the poll. Afterward, the respondents were asked several follow-up questions regarding abortion up to nine months, taxpayer-funded abortions and health and safety standards for abortion facilities.

Gen Z and Millennials voted strongly or somewhat against abortion by up to nine months by 46%, while 36% were strongly or somewhat in favor of abortion up to the moment of birth, according to the poll. The poll found a decline in support for taxpayer-funded abortions from 56% to 43% since 2022, while 38% of respondents were in favor of implementing certain health and safety standards such as screening for ectopic pregnancies, ultrasounds, blood tests and in-person care requirements to prevent sexual abuse.

“The poll shows that young voters don’t buy the extremist agenda that the Biden Administration is selling,” Kristi Hamrick, vice president of Media and Policy for SFL, told the Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF).
