Trump Slaps CNN With Massive Defamation Lawsuit

Former President Donald Trump is suing CNN for defamation, seeking at least $475 million in punitive damages, according to a court filing on Monday.

Trump’s lawyers claim in the lawsuit that the cable news network has recently increased a campaign of libel and slander against Trump due to fear that he will run for president again in 2024. The former president sued the news outlet in federal court in Florida.

“Beyond simply highlighting any negative information about the plaintiff and ignoring all positive information about him, CNN has sought to use its massive influence — purportedly as a ‘trusted’ news source — to defame the plaintiff in the minds of its viewers and readers for the purpose of defeating him politically,” Trump’s lawyers wrote.

Some of the “ever-more scandalous, false, and defamatory labels” that the news outlet has given to the former president include “‘racist,’ ‘Russian lackey,’ ‘insurrectionist,’ and ultimately ‘Hitler,’” Trump’s lawyers said in the lawsuit. Gas Prices Surge Again as Supply Runs Low

. . .Now, in the first week of October, the national average price for gas has turned around after hitting the apparent bottom of a dip in gas prices — still higher than when Biden took office — and are inching upward again as inflation in other economic sectors continues to accelerate as demonstrated by recent reads of the Consumer Price Index, Producer Price Index, and PCE Price Index.

According to GasBuddy, “[f]or the second straight week, gas prices have headed higher, with the nation’s average gas price posting a rise of 11.1 cents from a week ago to $3.78 per gallon today, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million individual price reports covering over 150,000 stations nationwide,” meaning the national average “is up 0.4 cents from a month ago and 59.8 cents higher than a year ago.” How’s that “Build Back Better” agenda going?

Rather than Biden and his party’s feeble attempts to blame supposedly “greedy” corporations and Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, GasBuddy’s Head of Petroleum Analysis Patrick De Haan points to fuel shortages and OPEC’s pending decision on whether to cut production…two things that would have been non-issues if Biden hadn’t killed America’s energy independence:

Some West Coast states saw prices rise 35 to 55 cents per gallon in the last week as refinery issues continued to impact gasoline supply, which fell to its lowest level in a decade in the region, causing prices to skyrocket. While I’m hopeful there will eventually be relief, prices could go a bit higher before cooling off. In addition, OPEC could decide to cut oil production by a million barrels as the global economy slows down, potentially creating a catalyst that could push gas prices up further.

Supreme Court Declines to Hear Challenge to Trump-Era Bump Stock Ban

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined to take up a challenge to the Trump-era ban on bump stocks, a gun accessory that allows semi-automatic firearms to shoot more rapidly.

The decision comes after a federal appeals court in August upheld the bump stock ban, which was enacted by the Trump administration in 2018 in response to the 2017 Las Vegas massacre. Then-president Donald Trump vowed to ban bump stocks after it was reported that the gunman used the rifle accessory in his deadly rampage that killed 60 people and injured more than 500 others at a music festival on the Vegas strip.

The Trump administration rule classifies guns equipped with bump stocks as machine guns, which are prohibited by the National Firearms Act and the Gun Control Act. A Utah gun rights advocate and the pro-Second Amendment group Gun Owners of America brought separate challenges to the law, which the Supreme Court declined to hear. The high court did not issue comment on its decision.

Gun Owners of America slammed the court’s decision in a statement.

“This decision sets a horrible and dangerous precedent, one that will allow the ATF to further arbitrarily regulate various firearms. This very same precedent is already being abused by Joe Biden to ban millions of lawfully purchased pistols even without an ACT of Congress!” the group said. Joe Rogan Goes off on ‘Progressive Ideology’ Push in Schools, Drag Shows for Little Kids

Joe Rogan slammed educators pushing a “progressive ideology” in schools and said it’s not their job, mentioning things like drag queen shows for kids and sexually-charged books in some school districts.

During Spotify’s recent “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, the host spoke with guest comedian Dave Smith, and the two wondered how it was that people couldn’t agree that “sexualizing little kids” is wrong, whether it’s heterosexual or some “LGBTQ, sort of thing.”

“Children are very malleable,” Rogan explained. “They always have been. That’s how you can get children to be religious martyrs. Like how do you think they talk those kids into strapping themselves up with dynamite and walking in to some building and blowing themselves up?”

“They do it through coercion,” he added. “They teach them. They can get a person … you can get a child to ascribe to all sorts of ideologies. Hateful ideologies. Loving ideologies. We imitate our environment … But my point is for good or for bad. Even though you think you’re doing a good thing, you’re still not doing what you’re supposed to do.”

“What you’re supposed to do as an educator is teach kids,” the host continued. “Teach kids. Give them information. You’re not supposed to be grooming them towards a particular ideology or lifestyle.” (Read more from “Joe Rogan Goes off on ‘Progressive Ideology’ Push in Schools, Drag Shows for Little Kids” HERE)

Newly Obtained Emails Shed More Light on CDC’s False Vaccine Safety Monitoring Statements

Newly obtained emails show the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) made a false statement on COVID-19 vaccine safety monitoring in 2021, months before agency officials gave false statements on the matter to The Epoch Times.

The emails also show top officials in the agency discussing performing safety monitoring on a key database for myocarditis, a form of heart inflammation that has been linked to the vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna.

The CDC promised in 2021 in a set of operating procedures to perform a type of analysis called Proportional Reporting Ratio (PRR) on reports of adverse reactions following COVID-19 vaccination. The reports are submitted to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), which officials have described as “the nation’s early warning system” for post-vaccination adverse events. The CDC also said in an updated set of operating procedures in 2022 that it would perform the analysis.

But the CDC has made false statements three times this year on PRRs, initially saying such analysis was outside the agency’s purview, then saying the analysis was performed starting in 2021, then saying the analysis did not begin until 2022. The newly obtained emails show that an official falsely said the CDC does not perform PRR analysis to an editor in 2021.

John Gregory, a health editor at NewsGuard, wrote to the CDC on Oct. 19, 2021, asking for a comment regarding a claim that the CDC’s PRR analysis cannot accurately identify when a vaccine causes adverse events, one of the emails shows. Martha Sharan, a CDC spokeswoman, sent the query to Dr. John Su, who leads the CDC’s VAERS team, and Dr. Tom Shimabukuro, who also works on vaccine safety. Bombshell Texts Show Milwaukee Mayor Colluding With Democrats to Rig 2022 Election

We now know that Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson and his staff are coordinating with Democratic Party operatives in a sweeping get-out-the-vote campaign. Why? Because they tell us in private text messages.

As Empower Wisconsin first reported on Wednesday, communications obtained in an open records request to the city by state Rep. Janel Brandtjen (R-Menomonee Falls) show longtime Democratic Party operative Sachin Chheda telling Johnson and his staff what to say about the Wisconsin Votes 2022 get-out-the-vote campaign. The effort is being funded by a left-wing activist group with close ties to the Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL), a leftist nonprofit funded by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

While city officials, under the direction of Chheda, have said Milwaukee is not receiving any private funding for the effort, two things are clear: The mayor’s office is taking orders from Democratic Party operatives, and the city of Milwaukee is coordinating with left-wing groups in what looks like an expensive effort to influence the outcome of November’s election.

“Are we coordinating all vote events with your group? Based on the media frenzy yesterday, I don’t think that’s a good idea,” Johnson’s spokesman Jeff Fleming asks Chheda in a text sent earlier this month.

“When I don’t have information we can’t coordinate,” Chheda testily responds. “I’m not saying every event would be with us, but if you can let me know what’s going on, then I can answer questions and plan. So yes, I do want to know everything related to voting.” (Read more from “Bombshell Texts Show Milwaukee Mayor Colluding With Democrats to Rig 2022 Election” HERE)

Biden Admin Quietly Makes Reversal on Student Loan Forgiveness Program

The Biden administration quietly issued an update to its student loan forgiveness plan on Sept. 29, drastically scaling back eligibility, on the same day that six Republican-led states filed a lawsuit against President Joe Biden, claiming his student loan forgiveness plan is illegal.

As of Sept. 29, borrowers who have federal student loans that are owned by private entities and not by the Department of Education will no longer qualify for the relief program.

Previously, the administration had said those borrowers with student loans owned by private entities, many of which were made under the former Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) program and Federal Perkins Loan program, would qualify for relief of up to $10,000 or $20,000 in loan forgiveness, as long as the borrower consolidated his or her debt into the federal Direct Loan program.

The guidance now states, “As of Sept. 29, 2022, borrowers with federal student loans not held by ED cannot obtain one-time debt relief by consolidating those loans into Direct Loans.”

More than 4 million student loan borrowers have privately held loans through the FFEL Program, according to NPR. (Read more from “Biden Admin Quietly Makes Reversal on Student Loan Forgiveness Program” HERE)

Trump ‘Wants His Old Job Back’

For months now, former President Trump has hinted at a potential White House run in 2024, and for months Americans have held their breath waiting for the announcement.

In an interview with CBS News, Kellyanne Conway, who managed Trump’s 2016 campaign, said that the former president may make his announcement before Thanksgiving.

Trump will “assess the timing of his announcement,” Conway said, adding, “I think before the end of this year.”

Conway said that Trump is as “active as anybody” else in the midterm elections, already building support from Americans by rallying in several states throughout the country. . .

“I will tell you why he wants to run for president—Donald Trump wants his old job back,” Conway said. (Read more from “Trump ‘Wants His Old Job Back’” HERE)

Congressman: FBI Is Engaging in Purge of ‘Conservative Employees’

After recent FBI raids on conservative figures, including the former President of the United States, speculation has grown that the agency is in bed with Democrats.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) is alleging that the FBI is engaging in the “purge” of Republican employees who hold conservative viewpoints.

In the past several weeks, they’ve raided the home of a former president, taking the phone of a sitting member of Congress, and we saw what they did to the pastor and his family and seven children: 20 agents, guns drawn, going to his house, when the local officials said there was no crime whatsoever,” Jordan said, criticizing the FBI.

According to Jordan, more than a dozen FBI whistleblowers have conceded to him and Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee that the agency is going on a firing spree of those who don’t align with a far-left narrative.

Jordan and several other Republicans have launched an investigation into the “serious allegations of abuse and misconduct within the senior leadership of the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.” (Read more from “Congressman: FBI Is Engaging in Purge of ‘Conservative Employees'” HERE)

Dems Fail to Derail Arizona’s Landmark School Choice Program

Opponents of Arizona’s school choice program, which provides state funds to students to attend schools outside of the public school system, failed to collect enough signatures to place the issue on the general election ballot, according to a Friday statement by Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs.

Save Our Schools Arizona, an organization that advocates for public schools, was unable to collect the required 118,823 signatures needed to put the state’s new school-choice program on the 2024 ballot, according to Hobbs. The school-choice program was signed into law in July, offering students the opportunity to receive funding for private and charter schools.

“The Secretary of State’s office has reviewed the petitions our campaign turned in and has determined we fell short of the minimum signature threshold required to stop universal voucher expansion,” Save Our Schools said in a statement. “Though our estimated signature count was much higher, the discrepancy was influenced by several factors, including the incredibly high volume of returns of petitions in the final week, days and hours of the campaign.”

Despite turning in more than 140,000 signatures, the effort by Save Our Schools failed because there were not enough legal and completed signatures, Hobb’s statement said. (Read more from “Dems Fail to Derail Arizona’s Landmark School Choice Program” HERE)
