Get Ready to Say Hello to Your New Neighbors From Syria

Turkey syrian refugees kurdsThe war in Syria is generating millions of refugees, who are genuinely to pitied. But as a result of this internecine strife in the Islamic world, Western countries are expected to accept major inflows of un-vetted immigrants, even as Islamic fundamentalists openly proclaim their intention to transform us into Islamic states via infiltration.

There is almost no way to prevent the entry into the United States of dedicated terrorists from ISIS and other Islamic fundamentalist factions if mass numbers of refugees are admitted. President Obama is determined to add more Muslims to our population and will use humanitarian impulses as opportunities arise (and given the track record of Islamic violence, those opportunities are legion).

The Center for Security Policy is sponsoring an online petition demanding local consent for any refugee resettlement. The city of Minneapolis, where I grew up, has been transformed by the mass importation of Somali Muslim refugees, something that was engineered by the State Department to take advantage of generous welfare and social service options available at the expense of native taxpayers. Among other consequences, it has made Minnesota the most prominent home of Americans joining ISIS.

The petition reads:

Governors/State legislators, we urge you to expeditiously attach a proviso such as the following to your state budget:

No state funds shall be expended to assist in the U.S. Refugee Resettlement Program unless the community targeted for resettlement approves.

DO YOUR JOB! Allow City and County Councils to decide if their budgets can support refugee resettlement and if their people want it!

You can sign it here.

Why Christianity Needs Its Own Yad Vashem

Coptic-Christians-Beheadings-717x450Some years ago, I found myself sitting with New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan in his residence at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, talking about a growing interest we shared in reports of anti-Christian persecution around the world.

At one stage, Dolan — who has a PhD in Church history and is conscious of the power of memory — asked me, “Why don’t we Christians have our own Holocaust literature?”

By that he didn’t mean Christian reflections on the Jewish Shoah, which are already abundant. He was asking why there isn’t a similar body of writing, art, drama, music, and so on inspired by Christianity’s new martyrs.

Why, for instance, isn’t there a “Schindler’s List” about the Christians who perished in Kandhamal, India, in 2008, in the largest orgy of anti-Christian violence of the early 21st century, in that case carried out by radical Hindus? Why isn’t there a “Diary of Anne Frank” for the children of Christian converts from Islam, who are often forced to go into hiding out of fear for their lives?

In general, why don’t Christians tell the stories of their victimization in a fashion compelling enough to make the world take notice? It’s certainly not for lack of raw material, since even low-end estimates hold that a Christian is killed for reasons related to the faith somewhere in the world every two hours. Kirsten Powers: Donald Trump, Evangelical Scam Artist

635766445937175712-Trump14“I play to people’s fantasies,” Donald Trump wrote in his 1987 memoir, The Art of the Deal. “I call it truthful hyperbole,” he explained. “It’s an innocent form of exaggeration — and a very effective form of promotion.”

The Bible calls this kind of behavior “lying.” Why am I bringing up the Bible? Well, it’s The Donald’s favorite book.

Or so he says. That claim might be part of that truthful hyperbole that serves as promotion for the reality TV star seeking the presidency of the United States.

Trump is a lot of things, but stupid isn’t one of them. He clearly determined that the only way to win the Republican nomination was through an appeal to the conservative evangelical vote. Despite his multiple divorces and remarriages, longtime support for abortion rights (until recently) and prideful self-aggrandizement, Trump has emerged as the favored candidate of evangelical voters.

An Aug. 16 Fox News Poll reported that “the top favorites among the white evangelical Christians are Trump (27%), Carson (14%), Cruz (12%), Bush (10%) and Huckabee (9%).” In South Carolina, 33% of evangelical Christians back Trump, according to a recent Monmouth University survey. His closest rival was retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson at 18%. Trump has been praised by Jerry Falwell Jr. as “one of the greatest visionaries of our time” and lauded by Franklin Graham for “shaking up” the political process. Will China Invade Alaska, Canada? Will Russia?

China Holds Military Parade To Commemorate End Of World War II In AsiaFive Chinese navy ships are currently operating in the Bering Sea off the coast of Alaska, [it was] reported Wednesday, marking the first time the U.S. military has seen them in the area. Why the sudden interest?

Because the Chinese have been studying the cycles. From generational theorists William Strauss and Neil Howe, they have learned that political/cultural cycles last only 65 years, and then they collapse, cycles first observed by Taoist monks and Roman philosophers. And China is exactly 66 years advanced since the Chinese Communist Revolution of 1949. In terms of generational cycles, China is on the eve of destruction. (In terms of the Strauss/Howe theory, so are we.)

The Chinese have been studying Western theories and economic cycles like the Elliott Wave, which suggests that the life cycle of a dominant currency has its limitations, and the American dollar cycle has ended. They have been studying economist Harry Dent, investment gurus Jim Rogers, Marc Faber and libertarian Ron Paul, seen often here only in the shadows, and understand that America is at a full economic transition, potentially a catastrophic cultural turning.

They have been reading Nicholson Baker’s day-by-day account, Human Smoke: The beginnings of WWII, the End of Civilization. They understand fully without Western sentimentality or illusion what comes next at the end of the economic cycle: Total war.

And they know that they have every advantage, for so many reasons. The first might reach back to 1913, when the 17th Amendment was approved in America. It focused power in New York and Washington and nullified the natural rise and development of states and regions into indigenous republics or “laboratories of democracy,” the phrase used by Justice Louis Brandeis. But created in time a vast meandering horde wandering without fences, formed by Hollywood light and sound, answering to no one, or anyone. It was one of the early Tea Party initiatives to put the fences back, but it is now too late and not enough.

They understand the “lessons of Vietnam”: Here in the age of the individualized common man where every woman or man can be emperor, it is not just the rich who will not fight, not just the connected who will avoid service (Dick Cheney had five military deferments in the Vietnam era). Almost no one will fight and those who do will be despised.

And although nostalgico generations celebrating Franklin D. Roosevelt (like Bernie Sanders) still romantically view us as unified (largely European) minions formed by great Hollywood figures; Frank Capra, Howard Hawks, Gary Cooper movies like Sergeant York, we no longer are. We view ourselves today as “totalitarian lite” benevolent world conquerors and everybody wants to be like us (except the Chinese and Russians). Senator from Arkansas Tom Cotton today calls for “global military dominance.” But we have no temperament for war. Scholarly studies report that, just one percent of current residents of New Jersey have served in military since Vietnam.

Secretary of State John Kerry’s appeasement of the Ayatollahs in the Iran deal comes as no surprise. Not to China, which carefully plans its next steps in the now permanent relationship with the war-weary and wary West.

Jim Webb, warrior/scholar and former Senator from Virginia, who is running for president has been watching this a long time.

“From this point forward,” he wrote in the Wall Street Journal back in 2001, “no one should doubt that our over investment in the economy of a nondemocratic and ever more aggressive nation has seriously compromised our ability to conduct foreign policy in the world’s most dynamic region. And the fact that we have become vulnerable to a Chinese military modernized through the benefits of our own technology should give all of us pause.”

China Holds Military Parade To Commemorate End Of World War II In Asia

Webb prefaced his article with a quote from Sun Tzu, in The Art of War: “Draw them in with the prospect of gain, take them by confusion. Use anger to throw them into disarray.”

It is safe to say today that we are now passed the “draw them in” phase and entering into the “take them by confusion” phase and that is what the Chinese ships are doing off the Alaskan coast. Soon ahead, the “use anger to throw them into disarray” phase.

Possibly we would come together in defense today if an outside invader approached the United States (Lower 48) either from China on one side, or Russia on the other. But would Americans in the Lower 48 defend Alaska? Canada? Or would we instead deal Canada away to avoid war below and “find peace”? As our long, intimate, historic relationship with Israel disintegrates almost overnight, General Secretary of the Communist Party Xi Jinping thinks he knows the answer.

Most Americans who have never seen Dougie Gilmour crawl off the ice with a broken leg in his last day on ice, have never been to Tim Hortons or canoed the mystic Canadian wilderness, think Canadians are silly, preoccupied only with hockey. Scott Walker, Governor of Wisconsin, who wants to be president, fully personifies this dangerous American narcissism: He wants to build a fence not only across the border with Mexico, but one across the border with Canada as well. But Canada, and Alaska, are absolutely vital to America’s defence, even to our very existence.

Time to read again, John McPhee’s Coming into the Country. Time to read again, Margaret Atwood’s Survival: A Thematic Guide to Canadian Literature. Time to read again, Sun Tzu’s The Art of War.

That President Obama is the first American president to cross into the Arctic Circle is astonishing. That tells the Chinese, and the Russians who planted the flag at the North Pole and declared it to be their own well back in 2007, virtually everything they need to know about our relationship with the Great White North.

That is where they must start in the next phase of civilization between China, Russia and North America: Using “anger to throw them into disarray.” (For more from the author of “Will China Invade Alaska, Canada? Will Russia?” please click HERE)

Planned Parenthood Video Number 9 and the Angels That “Just Fell Out”

Fallen-angelWe learned from the latest exposé of Planned Parenthood and its organ-trafficking partners that some of the pregnancies which they ended were so far along that the children were nearly or fully viable. As one of the profiteers in the ninth video admits, she has witnessed procedures during which the “fetus was already in the vaginal canal whenever we put her in the stirrups, it just fell out.”

O unhappy fall! Those children fell out of the womb not into life but unto death, a death that was not profitless, thanks to Planned Parenthood and its allies — who finally answered Jesus’ ancient question: “For what will it profit them to gain the whole world and forfeit their life?” Now we know: “$340 per second-trimester fetal tissue specimen.” Of course, the profiteers aren’t losing their own lives here, you will immediately think. Like hitmen, they are killing others.

But step back for a moment and consider this question in the light of Our Lord’s words. He spoke of losing one’s life to sin. Did He only mean the afterlife, or was He also speaking of this one? The kingdom of heaven begins for the blessed on earth, so perhaps the converse is true. Dante was bold enough to speculate in the Inferno that some of the damned can be glimpsed in hell while their bodies still move and function. He did not mean that literally; anyone can still repent up to the last minute he draws breath. But while we are resisting God’s grace, and clinging with cold, bitter fingers to our justifications for evil, what else are we doing on earth but rehearsing the Great Refusal, preparing our souls for hell?

What can the merchants of baby parts possibly think about their own lives, as they sort through human organs and total up the profits? As they count on their fingers how many hands they will need to amputate to spare the sensibilities of the techs who will open those coolers, what do these people make of their own hands, their feet, their very existence in human bodies? The logic of abortion implies an answer, but it’s not one they’re happy with: We are nothing more than animals, and when our brains flat-line we too will wink out like birthday candles.

But abortionists don’t really think that or act on that assumption. They claim for human beings something “heroic” and unnatural: The right of absolute choice, the freedom to harness the joy of sex quite unhinged from its biological purpose. What animals manage that, or even try to? In the natural world, no ape however brainy has thought to sterilize himself. No species routinely destroys its healthy young the better to maximize sexual pleasure. In the wild, mothers fiercely defend their offspring; they do not find strangers and reward them for tearing them out. Only man has thought to claim such a curious privilege — curious indeed, if we are merely animals. At best, it is a profound maladaptation, a symptom that our species has undergone some strange mutation and will likely die out quite soon.

Or else it is a sign. A perverse proof that we are not just another species in a series that begins with the bacteria. Who else but a god, like Zeus, would see his own children as a threat to his autonomy, and so decide to consume them? We would be as gods, and envious gods at that. We begrudge the next generation its chance to walk on this earth at all. How else can we interpret the fact that more human beings have been aborted across the world in the past 40 years than died in wars or genocides over the course of the past 100? That explains why unborn children are public enemy number one.

If we are envious gods, then what do we make of the fact that we are encased in these fragile bodies? What can the abortionist, who uses his human body to dismember other human bodies, possibly think that his body means? Is it anything more than a cage for a godlike spirit, which is sometimes gilded with pleasure?

There’s an ancient way of looking at the world that makes perfect sense of all this. No it’s not Christianity, but something much more mysterious and exotic, which makes no demands of obedience or self-renunciation. It’s called “Gnosticism,” and you can see it portrayed amusingly in 2014’s train-wreck movie Noah. In that anti-biblical epic, there are angels who have fallen for disobeying the Creator. And their punishment is to be trapped inside bodies and sent to earth. That is the Gnostic theory of every human’s biological existence. We are actually angels, bodiless spirits of endless potential and perfect freedom, whom an evil god (or gods) have plunged into the quagmire of flesh and blood, sperm and egg. It is our task to free ourselves by seeking out secret knowledge, to get back our godhood by any means necessary.

Like those poor butchered babies described in the latest video who “just fell out” of the womb, we fell out of the heavens, according to the Gnostic vision, and got trapped inside these bodies. What better way to resist, to shove our refusal back in the face of our hateful creator than to show Him exactly what we think of this cruel arrangement? We will destroy these bodies whenever we like, we will “modify” and mutilate them, we will use them however we like and even try to change our sex when that suits our spirit. We will craft bizarre hybrids of humans and animals, and in labs make hundreds of thousands of tiny bodies to keep in freezers for our convenience. When our bodies have worn themselves out, we will not even bury them, but burn them. Why leave behind a sad, decaying reminder of our shameful sentence on earth, when our spirits deserve so much more? (The practice of cremation in the West, which died when Rome converted, was revived by Enlightenment philosophes to rebuke the resurrection of the body.) The best way to emphasize the spirit’s radical freedom is to punish and degrade the flesh.

The Marquis de Sade understood that. That is why his books are at once Gnostic diatribes and viciously cruel pornography, riddled through with gratuitous scenes of Eucharistic blasphemy, crass attacks on the body of Christ. His anti-erotic sex books, which one might think would only appeal to the tiny percentage of frustrated serial killers out there, have instead been hailed by secular intellectuals as philosophical classics. One of de Sade’s central tenets, the linchpin of his plan for “liberating” us from nature and its Creator, was access to abortion. And his writing is just as gruesome as anything you’ll see in the Planned Parenthood videos.

It took the activist Margaret Sanger to turn de Sade’s dark fantasies into practice, to institutionalize and bureaucratize his evil. She played Lenin to his Marx. Her votaries today maintain de Sade’s temples in every ghetto. And now we see the fruits of their acts of sacrifice. Kim Davis as the Modern Day Rosa Parks

Kim Davis, David MooreOn August 1, 1776, just a few weeks after signing the Declaration of Independence, Sam Adams spoke before a large audience at the State House in Philadelphia beseeching them to fight for their independence. During the speech, Adams singled out religious liberty as the consummate freedom – of all fundamental rights – they’d be fighting for in this revolution. He warned the public that “our contest is not only whether we ourselves shall be free, but whether there shall be left to mankind an asylum on earth for civil and religious liberty.”

Two hundred and thirty-nine years later, we are on the precipice of losing that asylum to a pagan inquisition our Founders could never have recognized. Now, county clerks are being forced to issue marriage licenses to relationships that have never been conceived as a marriage until just 15 years ago – all by a few unelected judges who have no jurisdiction over the definition of marriage. Kim Davis, the Clerk of Rowan County Kentucky is now taking a stand and is refusing to be sent to the back of the bus as a second class citizen in a country founded upon Judeo-Christian values. She has refused to issue licenses to redefine marriages because, as clerk of the county, those documents will always contain her name – even if they are directly issued by a deputy.

Kim Davis is taking a stand and saying no more, much like Rosa Parks did against unjust anti-liberty Jim Crow laws.

I know what some of you are thinking. “But Daniel, it’s one thing to refuse to violate one’s religious conscious when forced to perform a service with private property, such as the case of the Oregon baker or Gifford family farm in New York. Kim Davis, on the other hand, is a government official and is now bound by the Supreme Court’s decision, as absurd as that decision might be.”

Here’s the problem with that line of thought. Until now, we’ve dutifully tolerated 50 years of blatantly unconstitutional judicial tyranny, obsequiously repeating the false mantra that “the Supreme Court is the law of the land,” even in the most egregious cases. But if we don’t draw a line in the sand at some point, we will lose our country, liberty, and sovereignty altogether. Remember, these are the same judges who believe illegal aliens have a right to violate our sovereignty and assert Second Amendment rights. Is that the law of the land too?

For quite some time, there have been four justices on the Supreme Court and a majority of lower court judges who not only reject our Constitution as it was originally drafted, they believe it is a living and breathing document, given over to the unelected legal profession to interpret and promulgate laws as needed. This view was best articulated by Justice Thurgood Marshall in 1987. Speaking at a bicentennial celebration of the Constitution, Marshal brazenly rejected the notion of celebrating the Constitution as the Framers conceived it, along with their “outdated notions of liberty, justice and equality.”

This is the ultimate example of despotism because there is no recourse of the people to protect against the insidious political whims of unelected judges at any given moment. It’s one thing for elected politicians to behave badly. They can always be defeated in an election. But to have this power vested in the hands of judges is unsustainable. Sure, the Constitution has flaws, as only a document from God can be perfect. But there is a process for changing that. To replace the Constitution with the unwritten subjective social justice values of a legal profession – without a formal amendment process – is lunacy and leads to indefinite and unaccountable oligarchy.

Irrespective of one’s views on homosexuality, it was clear to anyone who can read that the Constitution was silent on the issue of marriage. That’s when Anthony Kennedy formally joined the judicial tyranny wing of the court, thereby securing a majority of justices who not only eschew the Constitution as it was written, but believe the existing Constitution is comprised of their personal values at any given time. In 23 words, Kennedy openly and unabashedly nullified the Constitution and made himself and his colleagues a supreme power, “and so they entrusted to future generations a charter protecting the right of all persons to enjoy liberty as we learn its meaning.”

Kim Davis rightfully believes that the “we” in we the people means the people through their elected state or federal representatives, not unelected judges.

One might ask: why doesn’t she just resign? After all, this is not her personal property; it’s a government job. And if Kim Davis is being asked to resign, shouldn’t Obama have to resign his position if he has conscious problems with regard to enforcing endless immigration laws duly passed by Congress?

Martin Luther King famously said, “I submit that an individual who breaks a law that conscience tells him is unjust, and who willingly accepts the penalty of imprisonment in order to arouse the conscience of the community over its injustice, is in reality expressing the highest respect for law.” He was referring to laws duly passed by elected bodies of government, such as state legislatures. How much more so would his principle apply against unelected oligarchs who have flipped the power of the Judiciary on its head.

Kim Davis worked in the Clerk’s office for 27 years, predating even the human concept of a homosexual marriage. In 2004, 75% of the state’s voters agreed to preemptively protect against the assault on marriage by defining it as a union between a man and a woman. One can be the most pro-homosexual “rights” activist in the world, but were he to uphold our legal framework, he’d have to concede that the federal constitution is silent on marriage and it has always been a state institution. Marriage as it was always understood is the law of the land in the state of Kentucky, so why should Kim Davis yield to the naked and illegal political ambitions of the judicial oligarchs on a federal level? Why Voters’ Anger Will Only Increase

BallotCastingStationsAccording to the latest batch of polls, Iowa Caucus voters are literally “mad as Hell” at Washington, D.C. and the Republican Party.

But if pollsters think voters are fed up now, they ain’t seen nothing yet. Because you can rest assured this fall the surrender caucus GOP Establishment has another round of “Failure Theater” all lined up and ready to go on every issue conservatives care about.

That’s when the latest fictional budgetary D-Day occurs. You know, either some kind of spending deal is hammered out and signed by then or its Great Depression meets Zombie Apocalypse. Otherwise known as shutting down less than 20 percent of the federal government almost everybody hates.

Scary stuff.

Back in 2013, the fight to defund Obamacare was the leverage spectacularly squandered by the GOP after 16 days of mostly fake missing government. This time, the defunding of Planned Parenthood is the cause macabre.

One approach being discussed on that front doesn’t even shrink the overall budget per se, but simply transfers all the federal money now directed at baby butchers to other women’s health programs that don’t kill babies and sell their parts for illegal profit. And even if the budget was cut, it would be a victory on a simply financial level dwarfed in its significance by eliminating Obamacare’s drag on the economy.

Furthermore, simply stripping Planned Parenthood of taxpayer money doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t continue to execute as many innocents as it pleases for the time being. Seems like something the establishment would be ready and willing to demagogue as unwilling to go to war over. But there is a window open for action because of the gruesome Planned Parenthood videos that have exposed the intrinsic evil that is that death merchant.

Of course, right on cue, Quisling-in-chief “Ditch” McConnell has already woke up from his usual nap to signal his willingness to side with death over decency yet again, just as he has for years. And yet recent polling out of Iowa (and everywhere else) is absolutely brutal for the poor saps interested in following in the clay footsteps of Mitt Romney and John McCain. For example, a whopping two-thirds of Iowa Caucus goers are currently split among Donald Trump, Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, and Carly Fiorina – the four outsiders pursuing the nomination.

Quick, somebody smack the GOP establishment on the forehead and scream “hello, McFly.”

Instead, it’s “stupid is as a stupid does” for the surrender caucus, who’s getting the jump on an autumn’s worth of pre-capitulation show votes by pretending to oppose Obama’s Faustian Bargain with Iran. Oh, yes, they’re planning a resolution of disapproval. Boy that will certainly have the Marxist in the White House putting away his pen and his phone out of fear. And if that doesn’t work, Boehner-McConnell are really going to escalate hostilities by threatening a sharply-worded joint blog in the Wall Street Journal’s editorial page.

Scary stuff.

So what will be left to try in just a matter of weeks when the establishment’s 2016 presidential hopes will almost certainly be on the wrong side of oblivion? Well, a financial windfall of donations from their sugar daddies on K-Street. Otherwise known as “manna from Heaven” to the GOP establishment. This is a government by the lobbyists and for the lobbyists after all.

And while they’re raking in the dough, they will willfully ignore the anger of the party they’re supposed to be leading, which cuts across all previous ideological divides. The GOP establishment has managed to finally unite the Republican Party’s disparate factions—against themselves.

In the meantime, the outsider candidates will grow even stronger than they are now, as we head into the winter’s first votes in Iowa after an entire fall of Boehner’s “crying game” and McConnell-scowls. Trump will go Spinal Tap and dial the putdowns up to eleven. Carson will become a more transcendent force in politics by uniting people against the system as a whole. Cruz will become the champion of the conservative grassroots after he’s seen leading the fight against the Washington Cartel at every turn. Fiorina’s sense and sensibility will be a glaring contrast to the “can’t do” rancid spirit of the beltway.

The entire whitewashed tomb that is the GOP establishment is being choked out before our very eyes. Not only that, it has no shot at coming back to life without elevating some of the very conservative causes it has scorned for so long, and even if it does elevate them it is likely to work for the benefit of somebody far more deserving instead.

There’s a full loaf of GOP establishment toast now, and the torches and pitchforks crowd want it burned to a crisp, God bless ‘em. (For more from the author of “Why Voters’ Anger Will Only Increase” please click HERE)

God’s Trumpet, Positive Persuader or Narcissistic Blowhard? Theories on the Trump Phenomenon

donald-trump (2)Polling continues to show a surge for anti-establishment candidates with Donald Trump holding a commanding lead in the GOP primary. Some experts are amazed at the billionaire’s ability to completely flip previously unfavorable ratings to favorable, all largely without relying on paid media. As The Wall Street Journal pointed out, Donald Trump dominated Sunday news shows last week without even appearing on any program . . .

Here are the theories on the rise of the Trump phenomenon:

Master of Persuasion

Scott Adams, the creator of the Dilbert comic strip calls Trump the “Clown Genius.” Adams argues Trump’s mastery skills at persuasion and branding are everywhere in his campaign . . .

Positive Thinker

Carmen Fowler LaBerge, president of the Presbyterian Lay Committee, says, “Trump is tapping into the spirit and power of positive thinking that pervades the teachings of modern cultural evangelists like Oprah Winfrey and Joel Osteen.” (Read more from “God’s Trumpet, Positive Persuader or Narcissistic Blowhard? 3 Theories on the Trump Phenomenon” HERE)

Will Mitt Romney Jump in the Presidential Race?

Mitt Romney Campaigns For Michigan GOP CandidatesThere is on the edge of the spectrum a thought awakening that former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, who ran for President in 2008 and 2012, might get back in the race. It comes naturally to think so. Before the race got seriously underway Mr. Romney met with Jeb Bush to consider their fates. Mr. Romney’s wife Ann went so far back then as to suggest on Cavuto that If Jeb ran, Mitt would stay out, as they both represented a similar center of establishment principles and would appeal to the same donor base. This past week, three of Mr. Bush’s key advisors have slipped away as Mr. Trump has made unprecedented advances in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, the three states, as former Governor of Texas Rick Perry has said recently, where the race to 2016 is to be won.

As Mr. Trump rises, and the Real Clear Politics current average has him ahead of the pack in New Hampshire at 28.3 percent, he rises at the expense of Mr. Bush, who is at nine percent in the same poll.

So as the “establishment” candidate, Mr. Bush, is suddenly being viewed as circling the drain, the frantic call goes out to Mr. Romney to enter and save the day.

But Mr. Romney is not now and has never been exactly an “Eastern Establishment” candidate, to which Jeb Bush and his famous political family form and fulfill the archetype. He brings a somewhat different political ethic and conservative moral base to the Republican party, in my opinion, a heightened, seasoned and more mature sensibility and Republicans should be delighted to have him.

For it is the current conservative standard that is killing Jeb; a standard advanced to the apogee of provincial incompetence by brother W., sure to be fully outlined in Dick Cheney’s new book, “Exceptional: Why the world needs a powerful America.” Mr. Romney is not now and has never been exactly an “Eastern Establishment” candidate, to which Jeb Bush and his famous political family form and fulfill the archetype. Holding Political Hypocrites to a Higher Standard

Hillary Rodham ClintonAs a former candidate for public office, and a committed activist for conservatism, I am not surprised by the rise of Donald Trump, Ben Carson, and Carly Fiorina. You shouldn’t be either.

It’s certainly not breaking news that Americans, across the entire ideological spectrum, are disgusted by the stench emanating from Washington D.C. In speaking with conservatives and libertarians, they are fed up with a completely ineffective Establishment wing of the Republican Party that has lost nearly every significant battle against the tax-and-spend, secular-progressive Left. And, fanning the flames of frustration, not only has the GOP establishment lost these battles in spectacular fashion but they have been complicit in many of the Left’s destructive policy victories.

In speaking with many moderate Democrats, they are angry at an administration that has failed to produce results for middle class families and a party that seems to be lurching to the extreme left on social issues ranging from abortion to marriage. But, one common theme I have heard repeated again and again, regardless of the person’s political party affiliation, is “the system is rigged against me.”

This “the system is rigged against me” attitude is not some fantasy made up to frighten little children, it is reality, and nothing is going to change until the handcuffs come out, and the perp walks start. If that sounds harsh then ask yourself “why?” Why is it harsh to ask people, whom we elect to make profound policy decisions, which will deeply impact our lives, to not abuse their power to devastate the lives of others. We’re not talking about a derelict corporate board that makes poor investment decisions and costs investors some of their money here. We are talking about a group of people who are employed, and paid handsomely, to lead a government which controls nearly 4 trillion dollars in tax remittances, and has a monopoly on the use of force.

Why do we hold our elected politicians to a lower, not a higher, standard of conduct than every other American? These pampered D.C. power brokers get away with things that would have you in a prison cell or a courtroom yet, they are rarely punished. Yes, few are caught, and even fewer are jailed, but the rest spit in our faces as they continue to live by a completely different set of rules than the ones you and I MUST live by.

Mishandle classified U.S. secrets – no problem, go run for President!

Don’t pay your taxes – no problem, accuse your opponents of racism and get re-elected to Congress!

Use insider information to make sweet business deals – no problem, become the Senate Majority Leader!

Use the IRS to destroy the lives of political opponents, and to tilt elections in your favor – no problem, become the Commander-in-Chief!

Your family profits handsomely from a bill you helped pass – no problem, become the Speaker of the House!

Violate the spirit and the letter of the law while engaging in a secret plan to undermine a local mining project – no problem, ignore a subpoena and take a vacation!

None of this white hot, steaming pile of garbage is going to change until the punishment fits the crime. We should be demanding responsible investigations, arrests, perp walks and, when found guilty, prison, and nothing less. The outrageous conduct of many members of the political class warrants aggressive prosecutions to deter future activity of this sort. Pardons, country club “prisons,” statements such as “the country just needs to move on,” and weak community-service-only sentences for corrupted members of the political class only serve to confirm to an already frustrated American working class that they are being ruled, not governed. Handcuffs will change all of that.

You don’t have to be a comic book fan, or a gifted philosopher to understand the simple meaning of Uncle Ben’s words to Peter Parker in the Spiderman movie, “with great power comes great responsibility.” They’ve taken the power, now they must own the responsibility.
