A senior Russian general in command of forces in occupied southern Ukraine says he was suddenly dismissed from his post after accusing Moscow’s Defense Ministry leadership of betraying his troops by not providing sufficient support.

Gen. Ivan Popov was the commander of the 58th Combined Arms Army, which has been engaged in heavy fighting in the Zaporizhzhia region. He is one of the most senior officers to have taken part in the bloody Russian campaign in Ukraine.

Popov said he had raised questions about “the lack of counter-battery combat, the absence of artillery reconnaissance stations and the mass deaths and injuries of our brothers from enemy artillery,” in a voice note published on Telegram late Wednesday. . .

“I also raised a number of other problems and expressed it all at the highest level frankly and extremely harshly,” Popov said in the audio message. “I had no right to lie, therefore, I outlined all the problematic issues that exist today in the army in terms of combat work and support.”

Europe’s Most Dangerous Supervolcano ‘on Verge of Eruption’ and May Spark Global Winter

An Italian “supervolcano” could plunge the Earth into a global winter as scientists predict it could soon erupt for the first time since 1538, as detailed in a new study.

The crust of the Campi Flegrei volcano, near Naples in southern Italy, is becoming weaker and more prone to rupturing, “making an eruption more likely”, research recently published in the journal Communications Earth & Environment said.

If the eruption was to be similar to its largest previous one, it would launch molten rock and volcanic gases high into the stratosphere.

This would lead to 100-feet-high (33.5 meters) tsunamis and the spread of sulfur and toxic ash that could plunge Earth into global winter for years, destroying crops and wildlife alike.

More GOP Officials Report Receiving Suspicious Packages Following Similar Cases in Kansas, Tennessee

Republican Montana officials became the latest recipients of suspicious packages reportedly containing a white, powdery substance following similar incidents earlier this month in two other states, the Montana Senate GOP stated Friday.

“At least two Montana legislators have received suspicious packages in the mail containing a white powder. At this time, both are fine and law enforcement is investigating and will be testing the substance,” the Montana Senate GOP tweeted. The white powdery substance was reportedly sent with an “anonymous, threatening” letter following a recent pattern of similar cases involving GOP officials in Tennessee and Kansas, CNN reported.

GOP officials in the Tennessee House received anonymous letters containing an unknown substance June 22. Tennessee House Republicans tweeted that the letters “contained obvious threats by a liberal activist specifically targeting us.” The letters have prompted an FBI investigation. Structural Issues With Titan Sub Hull Could Have Caused Implosion: Expert

Structural issues with the doomed Titan sub’s hull could be among the causes of the “catastrophic implosion” that destroyed the vessel and killed all five people on board in the depths of the Atlantic, an expert told The Post.

Investigators were hunting for clues on Friday as to how and why the OceanGate-owned submersible suddenly fell apart as it was descending toward the wreck of the Titanic this week.

While authorities say it is too early to tell the cause of the deep-sea disaster, one expert pointed to possible failures of the sub’s hull — its main body — as a likely explanation.

Virginia Tech ocean engineering professor Stefano Brizzolara suggested the sub’s pressure hull could have had a defect that may have fractured under the pressure and sparked an implosion.

“It is difficult to say what caused the structural failure in this case, but any small material and geometric imperfection, misalignment of connection flanges, tightening torque of bolted connection may have started the structural collapse,” Brizzolara said. Country Considering Killing 200,000 Cows to Fight Climate Change

Government officials in Ireland are considering a plan to kill 200,000 cows to combat climate change, according to reports.

There were multiple reports this week that the Irish government was contemplating a plan to cull 200,000 cows within three years to fight climate change. The Irish Mirror stated that “the cows would have to be ‘culled’ at a cost of €600,000 to taxpayers over the next three years to meet climate emissions targets.”

The possible plan was detailed in an internal Department of Agriculture document that was unearthed in a freedom of information request.

The Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association immediately railed against the reported plan to kill 200,000 cows.

Pat McCormack – the president of the Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association – declared, “If there is to be a scheme, it needs to be a voluntary scheme. Twitter owner Elon Musk doubled down on supporting free speech during an interview this week, saying that he will say whatever he wants to say and he is fine if he loses money over it.

Musk made the remarks during a CNBC interview with David Faber when Faber asked him about the following tweet: “Soros reminds me of Magneto.”

Musk doubled down on his comment Wednesday afternoon, writing: “I’d like apologize for this post. It was really unfair to Magneto.”

President Joe Biden on Thursday falsely claimed he only has six grandchildren, ignoring Hunter Biden’s out-of-wedlock child, Navy Joan Roberts, whose mother Hunter pays child support to — even as he has an ongoing court case to reduce payments.

Navy Joan Roberts, the four-year-old girl Hunter Biden fathered out of wedlock four years ago, was ignored by Joe Biden during a “Take Your Child to Work Day Greet” day at the White House.

“I have six grandchildren. And I’m crazy about them. I speak to them every single day, not a joke,” Biden told children outside the White House. “As a matter of fact, I just got finished going through the calls. And only one of them answered the phone.”

Joe Biden remembered his grandchildren as “Naomi,” “Finnegan,” “Mazie” (nickname), “Natalie,” [No name] “senior in high school,” and “Beau Biden.”

“Guess what, they are crazy about me,” Biden said.

Transgender-Identified Montana Lawmaker Censured for ‘Hate-Filled’ Comments

A Montana Democrat was censured by the state assembly Thursday after hate-filled comments that accused Republicans of having “blood on your hands” over transgender legislation.

Rep. Zooey Zephyr, the state’s first transgender-identified lawmaker in the Montana legislature, mocked Republican prayers in a floor speech this week as the House debated a bill to codify the sex binary of male and female. Senate Bill 99, which ultimately cleared the lower chamber, bans transgender medical interventions for minors with gender dysphoria.

“The only thing I will say is if you vote yes on this bill, and yes on these amendments, I hope the next time there’s an invocation when you bow your heads in prayer, you see the blood on your hands,” Zephyr said.

The Montana House Freedom Caucus responded to the remarks with a demand to censure the Missoula-area representative. Zephyr was banned from engaging in further floor debate on Thursday and is not allowed to speak on bills in the chamber without an apology.

The revelations come as a result of subpoenas filed by Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) in February.

Subpoenaed Bank Records Reveal ‘New’ Biden Family Member Who Got China Cash

By New York Post. President Biden’s daughter-in-law Hallie is the mysterious “new” Biden family member who got paid Chinese cash in 2017, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer revealed exclusively to The Post Thursday.

Comer said the payments to first son Hunter Biden’s sister-in-law-turned-former lover were revealed in subpoenaed bank records.

The records show Hallie Biden received $35,000 over two transfers in 2017 from Biden family associate Rob Walker, who got $3 million on March 1, 2017, from State Energy HK Limited, a firm affiliated with CEFC China Energy.

President Biden, who allegedly was the “big guy” mentioned in communications about the same Chinese venture, dined at Hallie Biden’s residence last Friday during his regular weekend trip home to Delaware. It’s unclear if they discussed the looming bombshell, which Comer (R-Ky.) publicly teased Monday night on Fox News’ “Hannity.”

One transfer to Hallie from Robinson Walker LLC was for $25,000 on March 20, 2017, Comer’s staff wrote in a Thursday morning memo to committee members. Another $10,000 was transferred on Feb. 13 — raising “many questions” according to a committee aide because it came shortly before, rather than after, the $3 million haul. The House Oversight Committee said that President Joe Biden’s son Hunter, his brother James, daughter-in-law Hallie and one other Biden family member received payments totaling over $1 million across three months from an account linked to a business partner of Hunter Biden in a Thursday release. ‘There Is Something Dangerous About This Movement’: JK Rowling Pushes Back Against Pro-Trans Activists

J.K. Rowling recently elaborated on her viewpoints that are critical of the transgender movement, claiming she felt it was important to speak up and that many of her fans are grateful to her for doing so.

In the latest episode of “The Witch Trials of J.K. Rowling” podcast, the author said she has listened to the transgender movement and attempted to understand its viewpoint, but still felt it was important to speak her thoughts on the matter.

The “Harry Potter” author has received substantial backlash over the past few years due her decision to share opinions that have rankled many pro-transgender activists. In 2019 Rowling tweeted support for Maya Forstater, a woman who was fired from her job because she criticized policy which would have allowed people to identify as any gender they wish. In 2020, Rowling also tweeted criticism of the idea that the sex binary “isn’t real” and slammed an op-ed for using the term “people who menstruate” in lieu of “women.”

“I can only say that I’ve thought about it deeply and hard and long. And I’ve listened, I promise, to the other side,” Rowling said on the podcast Tuesday. “And I believe, absolutely, that there is something dangerous about this movement, and it must be challenged.”
