Economist: Impending US fiscal crisis will force gov’t to seize your gold

Economist Marc Faber, publisher of the Gloom, Boom and Doom report, says the government will seize privately held gold, even as he continues to buy physical gold himself.

“I prefer to play the commodity space by owning physical gold,” Faber tells Chiefsworld. “If I were an American, I would store it outside the U.S., because in the U.S., it is not completely unlikely that they will eventually take it away.”

“Like in 1933, gold will be purchased back by the government” because eventually the financial mess will be so bad that gold prices “will go ballistic, and the government will take away something from a minority, and not many people own gold.”

“When gold prices shoot up, it will be quite a popular measure to take it away from these rich people,” Faber says. “It’s happened before.”

From May 1, 1933, until 1974, U.S. citizens could no longer hold gold as a protection against paper money, which also lost its gold backing at the same time.

Andrew Breitbart’s Last Interview Was With Sheriff Joe Arpaio About Obama Eligibility

The news conference of Sheriff Joe Arpaio on Barack Obama’s Birth Certificate yielded one fascinating back story. This is a story which has received no media coverage, but it deserves to get out.

We are all still dealing with the shock of our friend and Patriot Andrew Breitbart’s sudden death. Andrew was, as Rush Limbaugh say, a bulldog for the truth.

This back story is about Andrew’s last hours. In those last hours he was working with Sheriff Arpaio to get the truth about Obama’s fraudulent birth certificate out to a wider audience.

We filmed this amazing clip of Dr Jerome Corsi talking about Andrew’s last interview before his tragic death. It show’s he was in the fight until his last breath. We admire this man more than we can express.

Washington Times: Sheriff Joe Arpaio says Obama’s birth certificate is a “forgery”

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said Thursday he suspects the birth certificate President Obama released last year is a “computer-generated forgery” — and also raised questions about the authenticity of the president’s Selective Service card.

“Based on all of the evidence presented and investigated, I cannot in good faith report to you that these documents are authentic,” Sheriff Arpaio said. “My investigators believe that the long-form birth certificate was manufactured electronically and that it did not originate in paper format as claimed by the White House.”

Questions over Mr. Obama’s birth certificate have been a political sideshow for the last four years, and have persisted despite repeated denials by the White House, and despite the release of evidence he was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Aug. 4, 1961. That evidence included both a certificate of live birth released during the 2008 campaign and the long-form certificate last year.

Fact-check organizations have concluded the certificates are authentic, and Mr. Obama has joked about those who questioned his birth. At last year’s White House Correspondents Association Dinner, soon after releasing his long-form certificate, he mocked Donald Trump, who had said his own investigators were looking into the matter.

Now Sheriff Arpaio, who first built his national profile by creating tent cities for jail inmates and later by taking a tough stance on illegal immigration, could reignite questions among those who continue to believe Mr. Obama was born outside the U.S., and therefore is ineligible to be president under the Constitution’s provision that the officeholder be a natural-born citizen.

Mrs. Ron Paul breaks her silence, describes massive vote fraud in Arizona

Carol Paul breaks her silence and tells a WTPN activist that half of Ron Paul’s votes are being thrown away during a post-AZ GOP debate viewing party appearance backstage.

The normally very quiet, Carol Paul, wife of Republican GOP candidate, Dr. Ron Paul, was seen here on tape blaming election fraud as the culprit behind some of Ron Paul’s caucus losses in the 2012 race for the Republican nomination.

After last week’s Presidential debate, an activist for the “We the People Network” found a way through security to make it backstage, just prior to a scheduled speech Ron Paul was due to make at the New Life Bible Church in Mesa, AZ, minutes after the final GOP debate on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

Little did the activist know that simply finding a way to talk with Mr. and Mrs. Paul backstage would turn into such a potentially huge story, with Mrs. Paul coming forward, without being prompted, to explain her thoughts on the final results of some of the caucuses that have taken place during the campaign season.

To the average Ron Paul supporter, gaining access to speak in person with the Congressman and his family on video is one thing, but what ensued may have instead turned into quotes by Carol Paul that could very well end up being an international story for both the activist and the Ron Paul campaign.

Santorum campaign claims Romney tried to “rig outcome” of Michigan primary

Mitt Romney got more good delegate news Thursday as the Republican presidential campaign headed toward next week’s Super Tuesday showdown, with one candidate acknowledging he needs a victory to keep his campaign alive.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, campaigning in Atlanta ahead of the Georgia primary on March 6, made it clear he has to win the state he represented in Congress.

“I have to win Georgia, I think, to be credible in the race,” said Gingrich, who has won only one primary so far, in neighboring South Carolina.

Gingrich is vying with former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum to be the conservative alternative to the more moderate Romney in the race for the Republican nomination to face President Barack Obama in November.

Romney bolstered his delegate lead by winning in Wyoming, where Republicans held caucuses and cast votes in straw polls in recent weeks.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s press conference on Obama’s eligibility attracting AP, Reuters, NBC, CBS, ABC, many other media outlets

Poll after poll in recent months has indicated that Americans have a high level of concern over Barack Obama’s eligibility to be president, with one poll showing fully half of the nation wants Congress to investigate the question.

But reporters for the traditional media – networks, major newspapers, major news corporations and conglomerates – mostly have giggled when talk turns to the serious question of just what the U.S. Constitution requires of presidents.

Nevertheless, media organizations from all political persuasions are seeking admittance to a news conference to be held by Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Ariz.

The event is tomorrow at 1 p.m. Mountain Standard Time in Phoenix, 3 p.m. Eastern, and will be live-streamed by WND.

The topic of discussion will be an investigation by Arpaio’s Cold Case Posse into concerns about Obama’s eligibility. It’s the first time an official law enforcement report has addressed many of the allegations about the presumptive 2012 Democratic nominee for president.

Stunning testimony: Obama admin. wants higher gas prices

With the national average of gas prices hitting $3.65 a gallon, nearing $6 in some parts of the country, and poised to head even higher, America’s families are wondering when the bleeding at the pump will stop. But for Secretary of Energy Stephen Chu, those steep prices aren’t even a concern. In fact, he says his goal is not to get the price of gasoline to go down.

Chu delivered those stunning remarks in testimony before Congress yesterday. When Rep. Alan Nunnelee (R-Miss.) asked Chu whether it’s his “overall goal to get our price” of gasoline lower, Chu said, “No, the overall goal is to decrease our dependency on oil, to build and strengthen our economy.”

As shocking as his remarks are, they shouldn’t come as a surprise. Chu has a long record of advocating for higher gas prices. In 2008, he stated, “Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.” Last March, he reiterated his point in an interview with Fox News’ Chris Wallace, noting that his focus is to ease the pain felt by his energy policies by forcing automakers to make more fuel-efficient automobiles. “What I’m doing since I became Secretary of Energy has been quite clear. What I have been doing is developing methods to take the pain out of high gas prices.”

One of those methods is dumping taxpayer dollars into alternative energy projects like the Solyndra solar plant. Another is subsidizing the purchase of high-cost electric cars like the Chevy Volt to the tune of $7,500 per car (which the White House wants to increase to $10,000). In both cases, those methods aren’t working. Solyndra went bankrupt because its product couldn’t bear the weight of market pressures, and Chevy Volts aren’t selling, even with taxpayer-funded rebates. What’s the president’s next plan? Harvesting “a bunch of algae” as a replacement for oil.

Meanwhile, the Obama Administration is seemingly doing everything it can to make paying for energy even more painful by refusing to open access to the country’s oil and gas reserves and blocking new projects that would lead to the development of more energy in America. Case in point: the president’s decision to say “no” to the Keystone XL pipeline, a project that would have delivered hundreds of thousands of barrels of oil from Canada to Texas refineries, while bringing thousands of jobs along with it.

Guantanamo Bay Detainees to Receive $750k Soccer Field while Obama cuts Military Health Benefits

Accused terrorists at Guantanamo Bay will be getting a brand new $750,000 soccer field. This news comes the same day that the Pentagon is talking about where to cut billions of dollars from the defense budget. Chief Intelligence correspondent Catherine Herridge reported from Guantanamo Bay with more on this story.

She said earlier today after going out to the detention camp, she saw that Camp 4, which is the outdoor camp, had been shut down. She explained that it was very popular with the detainees because it allowed them to play soccer and basketball outside. All those detainees have now been moved over to Camp 6, where she found a major renovation underway.

The soccer field was signed off in April of last year and expected to be completed this spring. Catherine said the detainees at Camp 6 will now have three recreation centers: the existing inside and outside facilities, and by spring the new one that is being called the super recreation center.

She described it, telling Megyn Kelly that it’s about half the size of an American football field. In addition, it has some interesting specifications, including trails so that the detainees can travel from the indoor detention center to the outdoor field without being escorted by U.S. military personnel.

On the tour, Catherine was told that one of the reasons they wanted to build a soccer field was because in encourages detainees to follow the rules and they also felt it was in keeping with the number of detainees who like communal style living.

NBC Reports Quran Burnings Latest in ‘Long Line of Insults’ to Afghanistan by U.S.

Reporting on violent protests in Afghanistan following accidental Quran burnings for Monday’s NBC Today, correspondent Atia Abawi declared the incident “…follows a long line of insults that has intensified the public outrage towards the U.S., including last year’s intentional burning of a Koran by a pastor in Florida and the video of U.S. Marines urinating on the corpses of Taliban fighters.”

Compare that declaration to how Abawi portrayed Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai as the peace-keeper amid the crisis: “Karzai once again tried to diffuse the anger, saying, ‘Our emotions were shown all over the country regarding this, it is time now to return to calm and keep it.'” There was no mention of Karzai’s demand that the soldiers responsible for destroying the religious texts should be put on trial and punished.

Also missing from Abawi’s Monday report was any mention of reports that the Qurans in question were being used to spread violent extremist messages among detained terror suspects in U.S. custody in Afghanistan.

In addition, criticism of President Obama’s apology for the incident was left out of the report.

Here is a full transcript of the February 27 report.

New GAO Report: US wasting “tens of billions” on duplication, overlap

As lawmakers across the Capitol hear appeals Tuesday from Obama administration secretaries pleading for their budgets, duplication and overlap in dozens of areas of government is wasting “tens of billions of dollars annually,” a new government report shows.

According to the Government Accountability Agency’s 2012 annual report, nearly every department of the Executive Branch has room for improvement.

The report, which gives 51 areas and recommends 130 actions, follows a 2011 GAO report that showed 81 areas and 176 actions to be taken to “reduce or eliminate unnecessary duplication, overlap, or fragmentation or achieve other potential financial benefits.”

“Collectively, these reports show that, if the actions are implemented, the government could potentially save tens of billions of dollars annually,” Gene Dodaro, comptroller general for the U.S., said in remarks prepared for Tuesday’s hearing in the House Oversight and Government Relations Committee.

Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., also a witness Tuesday, estimated that waste and duplication costs taxpayers more like $100 billion per year.
