WATCH: House Dem Mocks Republican Colleague’s Impoverished Upbringing

Wisconsin Democratic congresswoman Gwen Moore ridiculed a Republican colleague for sharing the story of his impoverished upbringing during a Wednesday committee hearing.

Rep. Kevin Hern (R., Okla.) began his remarks before the House Ways and Means Committee by recalling his poverty-stricken childhood. Hern noted that he grew up unsure “if the lights would still be on … or if there would be food on the table” when he got home from school, adding that his stepfather developed a “dependence on government aid” that incentivized him to “stay home rather than work.”

For Hern, the anecdote showed that he “personally understood” the GOP’s opposition to a proposed five-month unemployment boost in President Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package. For Moore, it was a “boogeyman troll” attempt to ignore the plight of children “languishing in poverty.”

“Listen, colleagues, the lazy stepfather welfare queen boogeyman troll must not be paraded out again to steer us from our imperative to intervene in this national crisis,” Moore said. “These families, these children, need our help right now.”

Trump Impeachment Trial Begins; Senate Votes to Proceed With Trial; “GOP” Murkowski Once Again Sides With Dems; Trump Lawyer: ‘Floodgates Will Open’ if Senate Convicts Him

Trump Impeachment Lawyer Says ‘Floodgates Will Open’ if Senate Convicts Him

By New York Post. Former President Donald Trump’s lead impeachment lawyer warned Tuesday that “the floodgates will open” if the Senate convicts Trump of inciting the deadly storming of the Capitol by his supporters.

During arguments on Day One of Trump’s second impeachment trial, defense lawyer Bruce Castor said countless former government officials could be subjected to impeachment proceedings should House Democrats, led by US Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), prevail against the ex-president.

“If you go down the road Mr. Raskin asks you to go down, the floodgates will open,” Castor told the Senate.

“The political pendulum will shift one day. This chamber and the chamber across the way will change one day and partisan impeachments will become commonplace.” (Read more from “Trump Impeachment Lawyer Says ‘Floodgates Will Open’ if Senate Convicts Him” HERE)

Senate Votes 56-44 to Proceed With Trump Impeachment Trial

By New York Post. An overwhelming majority of Senate Republicans voted Tuesday against proceeding with the impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump — signaling for a second time that his conviction is all but impossible.

The 56-44 vote to try Trump for allegedly inciting the deadly Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol by his supporters followed more than three hours of arguments by lawyers on both sides.

Six Republicans voted with all 50 Democrats, one more than during a vote last month that gauged support for one of the former president’s key defenses — that the Senate has no jurisdiction over him because he’s no longer in office. . .

The other Republican senators who reprised their January votes were frequent Trump critic Mitt Romney of Utah — who cast the lone GOP vote to convict Trump during his first impeachment trial — Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, Ben Sasse of Nebraska and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, who in October announced he was retiring from politics. Election-Night Mystery: Video Shows Van Delivering Ballots After Deadline

A video released by the Gateway Pundit allegedly shows a white van delivering dozens of boxes of ballots to be counted in Detroit’s TCF Center hours after the deadline on election night in November.

At 3:23 a.m. on Nov. 4, the blog said, a white van registered to the city of Detroit entered the center. Two minutes later, three people were seen unloading more 50 boxes of ballots “just outside the counting room.”

“The ballots were then wheeled away on carts into the ballot counting room,” the publication reported, and the van left. . .

The deliveries happened at the same time Joe Biden’s vote totals suddenly surged in the state. . .

Trump was ahead of Biden by more than 100,000 votes before the van deliveries. (Read more from “Election-Night Mystery: Video Shows Van Delivering Ballots After Deadline” HERE)

Biden White House: Your Daughters’ College Prospects Don’t Matter Because ‘Trans Rights’ (VIDEO)

White House press secretary Jen Psaki brushed off concerns about President Joe Biden’s recent executive order mandating that any schools that receive federal funding must function as if biological males who claim to be females are the same and vice versa.

“What message would the White House have for trans girls and cis girls who may end up competing against each other and sparking some lawsuits and some concern among parents? So does the administration have guidance for schools and dealing with disputes arising over trans girls competing against and with cis girls?” a reporter asked at Tuesday’s press briefing, referencing cases in which parents were upset when biological males played in female sports. . .

“I would just say that the president’s belief is that trans rights are human rights, and that’s why he signed that executive order,” Psaki said. “And in terms of the determinations by universities and colleges, I’d certainly defer to them.” (Read more from “Biden White House: Your Daughters’ College Prospects Don’t Matter Because ‘Trans Rights’ (VIDEO)” HERE)

Creepy Joe Gets Flirty With Nurse Running Vaccine Site: ‘You Look Like a Freshman!’

. . .President Biden had an awkward, flirty moment Monday during a video conference event with health care workers in Arizona, during which he stopped to compliment one nurse for her youthful appearance — even gushing that she looks “like a freshman.”

Biden got up to some of his “creepy” old antics when he responded to the nursing supervisor’s detailed description of giving COVID-19 shots by asking her about her age.

“Are you a freshman at the university?” Biden asked Brittney Hayes at the end of a conversation in which she had laid out the process for getting shots to people at the State Farm Stadium vaccination site in Glendale.

“Noo. No,” said Hayes, who had described herself as being from the Arizona State University at the start of the talk — but who made clear she was the “head charge nurse” at the vaccination site.

“You look like a freshman!” Biden said, chuckling.

WATCH: 3 Underground Parties, Hundreds of People Busted for Violating COVID Rules in NYC

Authorities busted three underground parties this weekend in New York City for violating coronavirus pandemic rules, such as not socially distancing or wearing masks, the New York City Sheriff announced.

More than 200 people attended a party at a Brooklyn club with a sign on the door saying, “Members Only” early Sunday morning. Manager Geradino Luis Abdiel, as well as two club promoters, face several violations. . .

In Maspeth, Queens, authorities broke up a party of about 165 people around 2:00 a.m. inside a brick building where there was only one way in and out of the building, Fox 5 New York reported. . .

About 45 minutes later, more than 200 partygoers were found on the first floor and in the basement of a building in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn. Authorities found the revelers drinking in the venue, but the venue did not have a liquor license. Senator: Troops and Wall at Capitol Are Message to ‘Dangerous’ Trump Voters; Pentagon Reveals How Much It Will Cost to Keep Troops in DC Through March (VIDEO)

By WND. The barriers, National Guard troops and heightened police presence at the U.S. Capitol is meant to “send a signal” that Trump supporters are “dangerous” and “insurrectionists,” according to a prominent Republican senator.

“I think the fencing is remaining in place to send a signal — a narrative that 74 million voters who voted for President Trump are dangerous to our democracy, they’re all insurrectionists, and that’s simply not the case,” said Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., in an interview with Maria Bartiromo on the Fox News Channel’s “Sunday Morning Futures.”

Johnson, the ranking member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, said it’s still unknown exactly what happened on Jan. 6 and who was responsible.

“And yet, we have these eight-foot-tall fences with concertina wire completely surrounding the Capitol,” he said.

“Obviously, leaders in Congress think walls and barriers work because they’ve surrounded the Capitol with them,” said Johnson, referring to Democrats’ opposition to the southern border wall. (Read more from “Senator: Troops and Wall at Capitol Are Message to ‘Dangerous’ Trump Voters” HERE)

Pentagon Reveals How Much It Will Cost to Keep Troops in DC Through March

By Washington Examiner. The National Guard presence in the capital, which once reached over 26,000 troops and will continue into the spring, will cost taxpayers nearly half a billion dollars, Pentagon officials said.

The Guard presence began with just 340 citizen-soldiers helping to direct traffic on Jan. 6, the day the Capitol was overrun by pro-Trump rioters. It quickly ramped up to include troops from all 50 states, three U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia following the violence, and those military personnel were helping lock down the city ahead of now-President Biden’s inauguration.

The Pentagon, for the first time, revealed Monday that the total cost of the deployment through March 15 will be $483 million, with $284 million stemming from personnel costs and $199 million from their operations. The figures were revealed following a question posed by the Washington Examiner. . .

The National Guard Bureau told the Washington Examiner that the Guard has been paying the bills with its appropriation of $19 billion for the current fiscal year. However, Guard officials intend to ask the Department of Defense for a reimbursement of the mission’s costs. WATCH: Black Lives Matter, Antifa March Through DC, Chant ‘Burn It Down’

Black Lives Matter protesters and Antifa agitators marched through Washington on Feb. 6 and threatened people as they ate dinner, according to video footage and reports.

“Burn it down,” the demonstrators chanted.

“We are here tonight because black lives matter,” members of the far-left group also said. “Despite black lives mattering, black people are still dying at the hands of the police paid for by our tax dollars.”

Other video footage uploaded by independent journalists on the scene showed Antifa types fighting with police officers, who were trying to keep them away from restaurants. Some, clad in all black, could be seen holding the red-and-black Antifa flag.

At one point, police in Washington were seen forming lines around outdoor diners to separate them from the demonstrators and agitators. (Read more from “WATCH: Black Lives Matter, Antifa March Through DC, Chant ‘Burn It Down’” HERE)

WATCH: Here Are the Odds Rand Paul Gives to Trump’s Impeachment Trial Ending in a Conviction

Sen. Rand Paul (KY) spoke to Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday” about former President Trump’s upcoming Senate impeachment trial. The senator said the latest impeachment effort against Trump has zero chance of ending in a conviction.

Wallace began the interview by admitting that it would be unlikely for 17 Republicans to join every Democrat in the Senate to achieve the two-thirds majority needed to convict the former president, especially since most Republicans, Liz Cheney aside, believe the trial is unconstitutional.

“If we’re going to criminalize speech, and somehow impeach everybody who says, ‘Oh, go fight to hear your voices heard,’ I mean really we ought to impeach Chuck Schumer then,” said Paul. “[Schumer] went to the Supreme Court, stood in front of the Supreme Court and said specifically, ‘Hey Gorsuch, Hey Kavanaugh, you’ve unleashed a whirlwind, and you’re going to pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you continue with these awful decisions.'” . . .

“So if people want to hold President Trump accountable for language there has to be a consistent standard, and to my mind it’s a partisan farce because they’re not doing anything to Chuck Schumer, not doing anything to Rep. Omar, not doing anything to Maxine Waters. It’s just not fair. It’s just partisan politics under a different name.”
