Trump Issues New Wave of Pardons, Commutations

By CBS News. President Trump announced 26 new pardons Wednesday, including for allies Paul Manafort and Roger Stone, as well as Jared Kushner’s father, Charles Kushner. Mr. Trump granted 15 pardons the day before.

Manafort, a former Trump campaign manager, was sentenced to 7-and-a-half years in federal prison for convictions related to former special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation. Manafort was released from prison in March to serve his sentence from home due to COVID-19.

Mr. Trump had already commuted the sentence of Stone, a longtime friend, in July. Stone was convicted of seven felony counts stemming from Mueller’s investigation, including lying to investigators and witness tampering.

Kushner was convicted of witness tampering, tax evasion and illegal campaign contributions back in 2005. Jared Kushner, Mr. Trump’s son-in-law, has worked in the White House since the beginning of Mr. Trump’s presidency, and has been one of the president’s most influential and long-serving aides. The case against Charles Kushner was prosecuted by former New Jersey Governor and Trump ally Chris Christie. (Read more from “Trump Issues New Wave of Pardons, Commutations” HERE)

WATCH: When Finally Asked About Hunter, Joe Biden Retreats To Debunked Russian Disinformation Conspiracy Theory

. . .On Tuesday at a press conference, Biden was asked by Fox News’ Peter Doocy if he still believes the story is Russian disinformation now that his campaign has admitted the corruption investigation is real. After laughing for an odd moment, Biden replied, “Yes, yes, yes,” before chiding Doocy for asking him about it.

This is an astounding claim from Biden given that we now know that the DOJ has had a long and ongoing investigation into Hunter Biden’s taxes. The investigation is serious enough that Attorney General William Barr kept it secret so it would not influence the election.

Over the past two months, Joe Biden himself has never disputed a single reported aspect of the story. So on what basis does he believe that this is all Russian disinformation?

Biden has grown accustomed to a media that won’t ask him hard questions, but he is about to appoint a new attorney general whose job is to oversee a department that is investigating his own son. If Biden really believes there is no legitimate case against his son, that this is all a plot by Vladimir Putin, then how can we trust him with that choice? White House Doctor To Retire After Embarrassing Travel Scandal (VIDEO)

White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx announced Tuesday she plans to retire after it was revealed Sunday she defied her own COVID travel guidelines over Thanksgiving.

Like numerous government officials, Birx insisted that American families not travel and limit Thanksgiving celebrations to “your immediate household.” However, the day after Thanksgiving, she was caught traveling with multigenerational family members out of state to one of her vacation properties on Fenwick Island in Delaware. Birx told the Associated Press everyone on the Delaware trip was part of her “immediate household,” even though those involved live in two different houses.

Birx had been seeking a position in a potential Biden administration but, after receiving harsh criticism from the American people and her colleagues, she decided to resign instead, saying the experience has been “overwhelming” for her family over the last couple of days. . .

In an interview with Newsy, Birx said she wants to help the Biden administration transition into office but she then plans to retire. “I want the Biden administration to be successful,” Birx said. “I will be helpful in any role that people think I can be helpful in and then I will retire.”

WATCH: Anti-Lockdown Protesters Force Way Into Oregon Capitol, Some Armed

A group of anti-lockdown, pro-Trump protesters forced their way into the Oregon Capitol Monday. One report shows some of the protesters were armed with rifles, handguns, and even a pitchfork.

A large group forced their way into the capitol as the legislature met on the opening day of the state’s third special session. The protesters expressed opposition to the state’s ordering of certain businesses to close.

While legislative sessions are normally open to the public, today’s was closed to anyone other than lawmakers, police, some staff, and reporters, the Oregon Statesman-Journal reported. Legislators met to attempt to pass pandemic-relief measures including landlord and tenant assistance.

Reports on social media show the group of protesters gathered outside the Oregon Capitol on Monday morning.

Salem Reporter journalist Jake Thomas tweeted a video showing a woman urging protesters to enter the capitol. One man reportedly shouted that people should be willing to get maced or arrested.

WATCH: Here’s What America’s Largest Ammo Manufacturer Has to Say About the Shortage

. . .Rumors have swirled through the Second Amendment community, particularly online, about Vista Outdoors, the parent company of Federal, Remington, CCI, and Speer Ammunition. Some have said that Vista Outdoors has ceased manufacturing ammo all together while others have insisted the company is picking and choosing who to sell ammo to.

Vista Outdoors’ President of Ammunition, Jason Vanderbrink, decided to address – and squash – the rumors once and for all.

“I am tired of all the hate mail. I am tired of people showing up at our factories. I’m tired of reading the misinformation out on the Internet right now about us not trying to service the demand that we’re experiencing,” Vanderbrink explained. “… After a year like right now, when we’ve hired hundreds of employees to support American manufacturing jobs, all I hear is that we’re not making ammunition.”

The company president broke down the realities of the shortage, something he calls “basic economics.”

“Seven million new shooters since March, times two boxes [50 rounds per box], which is a conservative estimate, is 700 million new rounds of ammunition our factories have to help produce,” he explained. “That is impossible to do in nine months.” (Read more from “Here’s What America’s Largest Ammo Manufacturer Has to Say About the Shortage” HERE)

WATCH: Trump Thanks God for Sending Jesus to ‘Redeem the World’ in Powerful Christmas Message That’s Gone Viral

While U.S. President Donald Trump’s Christmas message this year made during the Dec. 3 National Christmas Tree lighting ceremony at the White House did not capture mainstream media attention, it continues to reverberate with Christians around the world.

At a time when some politicians would deem it politically incorrect to say “Merry Christmas” in public and would certainly not dare to speak about Jesus in the public square, Trump not only boldly wished Americans a “very, very Merry Christmas,” he went on to speak about the true meaning of Christmas in eloquent words that many Christians would be hard-pressed to hear from the pulpit.

Here’s what Trump said:

WATCH: Hunter Biden ‘Disinformation’ Claim Causes Meltdown at Senate Hearing

A Senate hearing on irregularities in the 2020 election on Wednesday got heated when GOP Sen. Ron Johnson berated a fellow member for accusing him of spreading “disinformation.”

Johnson (R-Wis.), chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, exploded at Ranking Member Gary Peters (D-Mich.) for criticizing his probe into Hunter Biden’s overseas business dealings and accusing him of “laundering” a foreign influence campaign designed to wound President-elect Joe Biden, Hunter’s father.

“I have to talk about Russian disinformation. The people peddling it are not on my side of the aisle,” Johnson said, accusing Peters of leaking “a false intelligence report” to the media that charged he and veteran Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) were “disseminating Russian disinformation.”

“Fifty people associated with the intelligence community, after our Hunter Biden investigation and the revelations of the Hunter Biden computer, said, ‘Oh, this is Russian disinformation,’” Johnson went on, referring to The Post’s bombshell reporting on Hunter Biden’s shadowy overseas business dealings.

“Now we find out it’s a real investigation by the Justice Department,” Johnson said, acknowledging the federal tax probe into Joe Biden’s scandal-scarred son.

WATCH: Trump Pledges to Continue Legal Challenges Contesting Election Despite Electoral College Vote

President Donald Trump pledged Sunday to push forward with a barrage of legal challenges contesting the outcome of the November election despite a pending vote of certification by the Electoral College Monday.

“It’s not over,” Trump told Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade on “Fox & Friends” outside the annual Army-Navy football game. “We keep going and we’re going to continue to move forward. We have numerous local cases.”

Trump reiterated his claims of victory in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Georgia, while emphasizing ongoing litigation in Wisconsin. As of this writing, former Vice President Joe Biden has carried all four, landing the Democratic candidate his first four years in the White House with 306 electoral votes to Trump’s 232 scheduled to make the vote official Monday.

The president maintains however, that the contest was “a rigged election.”

“They gave us very little time,” Trump complained as judges throw out campaign lawsuits. “But we caught them, as you know, as fraudulent, dropping ballots, doing so many things, nobody can even believe it.” (Read more from “WATCH: Trump Pledges to Continue Legal Challenges Contesting Election Despite Electoral College Vote” HERE)
