Is This the Stupidest Time in America’s History? (VIDEO)

Have we become a nation of toddlers?

Even as our country is grappling with weighty questions about history, racism, and how to deal with a pandemic, we’re seeing an explosion of behavior as rational as that of a small child, high on sugar-laced juice boxes, throwing a tantrum.

Just consider these examples from the past few days.

In a video captured by The Daily Caller’s Henry Rodgers, a white woman is “racesplaining” to African-American police officers. “You’re white, and you’re telling this to two black police officers. Do you see the problem with that a little bit?” asks Rodgers.

“Um, no, I don’t, because you know what? just because I’m white and I haven’t experienced racism myself doesn’t mean I can’t fight for justice,” the white woman responds. “They’re a part of the system. They’re a part of the problem. Just ’cause they’re black doesn’t mean they’re not a part of the problem. I’m allowed to say this to whoever because I’m white. Racism is a white person’s problem. Racism is my problem. I need to fix it. That’s why I’m here, talking to all of them—black, white, f–king brown, purple—.”

(Editor’s note: Crude language used in this clip)

So, apparently, the logic on the left has gone from only people of color can talk about racism to … only liberals, regardless of skin color, can talk about racism. Also apparently, color blindness is in vogue again.

On Tuesday, Twitter slapped a warning on yet another of President Donald Trump’s tweets, sanctimoniously declaring, “We’ve placed a public interest notice on this Tweet for violating our policy against abusive behavior, specifically, the presence of a threat of harm against an identifiable group.”

Ah, you say, but what exactly did our bombastic president say? Well, here’s what he said: “There will never be an ‘Autonomous Zone’ in Washington, D.C., as long as I’m your President. If they try, they will be met with serious force!”

Yes, the “threat of harm against an identifiable group” was … Trump saying a portion of D.C. can’t secede from the United States.

I don’t want to overthink this, but it seems as though if Twitter had been around in the 1860s, this kind of pro-secession talk would have put it on the Wrong Side of History.

Think secession talk is too far? Well, in Seattle’s “autonomous zone,” the police have been kicked out of a precinct building. And when a fight broke out over the weekend, leading to a person being killed, the police said they couldn’t get into the zone to investigate and bring back order.

Who exactly is inciting violence here again? (And I haven’t even started on the fact that journalist Andy Ngo told our own Rachel del Guidice that people in the Seattle zone were distributing literature on creating bombs and killing police.)

But we’re still not done detailing all the stupidity that’s gone down this week!

On Tuesday, a large group gathered around a statue in Washington, D.C., just blocks from the Capitol. “Thursday at 7 p.m.,” a man bellows, per a tweeted video from the Daily Caller’s Richie McGinniss, “we’re tearing this motherf—er down!” The crowd erupts into cheers and shouts of “woo!”

Well, you might say, mob rule isn’t the way to go, but gosh, why do we have so many Confederate statues around America, given that they fought for slavery?

Well, say what you will, but this is a statue of Abraham Lincoln. With a freed slave.

Nor was this eloquent gentleman the only one calling for statue destruction this week. On Monday, Shaun King, a journalist and a liberal activist with over a million twitter followers, tweeted: “Yes, I think the statues of the white European they claim is Jesus should also come down. They are a form of white supremacy. “

Ah, yes, because what we really need now is to take mobs to the churches! (The churches that are still empty or near-empty of believers in many jurisdictions because of coronavirus concerns. But, of course, the good news is that you can’t catch coronavirus when involved in a leftist protest, so there’s no risk of mobs in churches getting infected, unlike the very real perils of believers worshipping together and all giving each other COVID-19. Side note: Isn’t it endearing the medical community is still looking for a vaccine and cures when we could just all protest together?)

Of course, King’s remarks also ignore the rich history of Christianity depicting religious figures as a range of ethnicities. Yes, Jesus was a Jewish man who fit in in Egypt. But He’s also God … a bit more universal a figure. As Bill McMorris beautifully wrote in The Federalist, Catholics have a rich tradition, including in Washington, D.C., of depicting Mary, the mother of Jesus, as being part of a range of cultures. (Although I suppose once King finds that out, he’ll be accusing Mary of cultural appropriation. You really can’t win here.)

Another example from this week? The country lurched into yet another solemn discussion of race relations, this one triggered by the discovery of a rope tied like a noose in NASCAR African-American driver Bubba Wallace’s garage at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama.

Yet when the authorities investigated, it emerged no nefarious action targeted at Wallace had happened. Instead, the rope had been in place since October, long before it was in Wallace’s garage. Unfortunately, few waited for the facts to emerge, and just immediately saw the rope as more proof of how racist America is.

And don’t even start me on the fact that one activist is calling for “The Star Spangled Banner” to be replaced with John Lennon’s “Imagine,” a sad slouch of a song that includes the apparently not-disqualifying lyric, “Imagine there’s no countries.”

I’m sure I could go on. Except I can’t … because this level of stupidity is just too depressing.

I hate to sound super boring here, but where are the adults?

We have real problems in America right now. We need to solve them with rational discourse, serious conversations, and genuine engagement with each other. We need to work together.

Instead, it’s as though decades of lousy education, a terrible media, and activists who favor retweets over real improvements have all colluded to create the perfect storm of stupidity.

It’s a weird time. We’ve all been locked up and cooped up. We’re worried about the long-term effects of a pandemic. Many Americans are out of work and/or facing the end of their small businesses. We’re horrified by the fact that a cop killed a man who wasn’t resisting arrest, while three other cops watched as the man said he couldn’t breathe.

It’s not surprising emotions are high. But we cannot meet this moment with just our passions. We have to be serious here.

Just consider the fact that a Wisconsin state senator, Tim Carpenter, says he was beaten up on Tuesday by a mob near the state Capitol in Madison (where more statues were torn down). Carpenter tweeted, “I took this pic- it got me assaulted & beat up. Punched/kicked in the head, neck, ribs. Maybe concussion, socked in left eye is little blurry, sore neck & ribs. 8-10 people attacked me. Innocent people are going to get killed.”

He told The Washington Post, “Sad thing I’m on their side for peaceful demonstrations — am a Gay Progressive Dem Senator [who] served 36 years in the legislature.”

I wish I could just laugh off the examples I’ve listed here, but Carpenter’s example shows why we are teetering on the cusp of something far more likely to be tragic than risible.

At a time like this, I can only cry— because nothing less than America’s future is at stake. (For more from the author of “Is This the Stupidest Time in America’s History?” please click HERE)

WATCH: Steven Crowder Team Books Stay at CHAZ ‘Warlord’ Raz Simone’s Airbnb

By The Blaze. Seattle rapper and so-called CHAZ “warlord” Raz Simone got a taste of the lawlessness prevalent inside the autonomous zone Thursday when BlazeTV’s Steven Crowder booked a stay at Simone’s Seattle Airbnb and members of Crowder’s team covered the walls with CHAZ-style graffiti.

Crowder posted an image on Twitter shortly after the incident showing the walls of Simone’s high-rise Airbnb draped with spray-painted messages saying, “F**k cops,” “F**k the police,” and “BLM.”

In the caption, Crowder wrote: “No clue why [Raz Simone] is so mad when we paid to stay at his AirBnb. We didn’t even get to stay the night! 1 star.”

Simone, who rose to internet fame for allegedly becoming the de facto armed police force in the zone after city police evacuated, shot back in a tweet of his own, saying: “Hope y’all enjoyed your stay! You’ve seen what I do to people who graffiti walls that aren’t there’s [sic] but I’ll let this one slide cuz it’s cute and y’all funny funny.” . . .

Members of Crowder’s team, “Quarter Black Garrett” and “Even Brendan,” had been passing out fliers to protesters within CHAZ about a party at Simone’s Airbnb Thursday evening after Crowder had booked it. The party was supposed to be a tongue-in-cheek celebration of “New CHAZ.”

Businesses Sue Seattle Over Handling of ‘CHOP’ Zone

By King 5 News. A collection of Seattle businesses, property owners, and residents sued the city over its tolerance of an “occupied” protest zone saying officials have been complicit in depriving them of their rights to their property.

The plaintiffs, including a tattoo parlor and auto repair shop, emphasized in the lawsuit filed Wednesday that they were not trying to undermine the anti-police brutality or Black Lives Matter messaging of the “Capitol Hill Occupied Protest.”

“This lawsuit is about the constitutional and other legal rights of Plaintiffs—businesses, employees, and residents in and around CHOP—which have been overrun by the City of Seattle’s unprecedented decision to abandon and close off an entire city neighborhood, leaving it unchecked by the police, unserved by fire and emergency health services, and inaccessible to the public at large. The City’s decision has subjected businesses, employees, and residents of that neighborhood to extensive property damage, public safety dangers, and an inability to use and access their properties,” the lawsuit reads.

The suit says protesters, who have taken up residence at the CHOP for several weeks, threatened business owners with retaliation if those businesses painted over their graffiti. (Read more from “Businesses Sue Seattle Over Handling of ‘CHOP’ Zone” HERE)

WATCH: House Hearing Turns Chaotic After Rep. Gohmert Refuses to Stop Knocking on Table to Drown out Witness

A hearing of the House Judiciary Committee turned to chaos after Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) objected to the time given to a witness by continuing to knock on his table and drown out the witness.

The incident occurred Wednesday as former Deputy Attorney General Donald Ayer was giving his opening statement to the committee.

Ayer was excoriating Attorney General William Barr when Gohmert began banging on his table with his ring.

“Here though the wrong is much worse, as Barr is using a criminal investigation to produce fodder for the president’s campaign propaganda mill. Which can have its effect even if it is false!” said Ayer.

Here Gohmert began to knock his ring against the table. After about a minute, Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) asked for Gohmert to be stopped by force.

WATCH: Air Force Video Lays out “Skyborg” Artificial Intelligence Combat Drone Program

The U.S. Air Force has released a slick new video regarding its Skyborg program, which is developing a suite of systems that will form an artificial intelligence-driven “computer brain” capable of flying networked “loyal wingman” type drones and fully autonomous unmanned combat air vehicles, or UCAVs. The video offers new insights into what the service wants out of this project, how it sees it fitting into its larger aerial combat ecosystem, and what unmanned capabilities it might serve as a stepping stone toward in the future. . .

The new Skyborg video features concept art with additional views of a notional loyal wingman-type drone that AFRL first showed publicly last year. The design, which has clear low-observable (stealthy) features, has a centrally-mounted main wing and v-tail. A top-mounted air intake at the rear of the fuselage feeds into a single small jet engine with a shrouded exhaust.

A cutaway shows a modular equipment bay in the top of the forward fuselage, including what looks to be some kind of sensor, possibly meant to depict an Infrared Search and Track (IRST) system, in the nose. This conceptual aircraft has two internal payload bays underneath the fuselage in between its tricycle landing gear. Christian Figures Attacked Amid Ongoing Riots; WATCH: Pastors Visit CHOP to Protest BLM Threat to Jesus

By Fox News. Christian figures and symbols — including Jesus Christ himself — have become the target of hate and vandalism as protests continue across the nation.

What initially began as a campaign against Confederate figures after George Floyd’s police-related death in May has expanded to activists forcibly tearing down or calling for the toppling of monuments to former U.S. presidents, saints, abolitionists, and other figures.

Earlier this week, Washington, D.C. protesters vandalized St. John’s Episcopal Church, located across from the White House where President Trump held up a Bible after it was burned by vandals. Demonstrators said it was a way of scoring restitution for slave owners who were Episcopalian, the Washington Examiner reports. . .

“They’re looking at Jesus Christ, they’re looking at George Washington, they’re looking at Abraham Lincoln, they’re looking at Thomas Jefferson,” Trump said during a news conference with Polish President Andrzej Duda in the White House’s Rose Garden. “It’s not going to happen.” . . .

Even if activists are successful in removing the image of Christ from parts of society, former governor of Arkansas and ordained minister Mike Huckabee ultimately believes this would only serve to strengthen Christians’ faith. (Read more from “Christian Figures Attacked Amid Ongoing Riots” HERE)

WATCH: Pastors Visit CHOP to Protest BLM Threat to Jesus

By Breitbart. Several pastors traveled to the Capitol Hill Occupied Protest (CHOP) in Seattle, Washington, to protest against threats by left-wing activists linked to the Black Lives Matter movement to remove religious icons depicting Jesus Christ as white.

Earlier this week, left-wing activist Shaun White tweeted: “Yes, I think the statues of the white European they claim is Jesus should also come down. They are a form of white supremacy. Always have been. … Tear them down.”

In response, Pastor Brian Gibson and several other pastors, of different racial backgrounds, traveled to the CHOP (formerly known as the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, or CHAZ) to deliver a message of religious liberty against the intolerance of the radical left:

. . .[Gibson’s group] Peaceably Gather released a statement Thursday:

“I have personally been on the ground in CHAZ/CHOP, and seen the wanton destruction that violent agitators carried out against people and property. These are no longer protests by citizens, these are deliberate acts of violence and vandalism from anti-American groups that seek to undo our country’s history and our religious heritage.” said Pastor Gibson. “Churches will always welcome those seeking refuge and relief, but when evil people attempt to damage and destroy we will exercise our full legal rights, as well as our rights to defend ourselves and our properties with physical force. History is full of examples that when religious images and symbols are attacked what follows shortly thereafter is attacks on the people, and we will not allow that to happen in our communities.”

WATCH: Film Warns of ‘One World Government,’ Rise of the Anti-Christ If Trump Isn’t Reelected

Evangelical and social conservative supporters of President Trump are producing a film warning of a “one world government” based on socialism, the rise of the anti-Christ and other end-times calamities if Mr. Trump is not reelected in November.

“Trump 2024: The World After Trump” features interviews with a diverse group of Christian and conservative commentators, including former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, the Rev. Franklin Graham, syndicated columnist Star Parker and Mike Lindell, CEO of My Pillow, among others.

On Monday, the Christian movie company Resurrection Pictures released a trailer for the film and announced a Kickstarter fundraising campaign to distribute the movie to as many as 1,500 theaters in “key markets” nationwide.

. . .The nearly 2½-minute trailer highlights topics such as “Globalism,” “Border Wall,” “Abortion” and “Israel,” with sound bites from notables such as Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council; Paula White, the White House Faith and Opportunity Initiative adviser; Brigitte Gabriel, founder of ACT for America; and televangelists and megachurch pastors.

But the trailer showcases snippets of the filmmakers’ interviews with two titans of the evangelical world: Mr. Huckabee and Mr. Graham, the Christian evangelist and missionary, who says of Mr. Trump, “So he cusses when he gets mad. He says things that are brutally honest.” (Read more from “Film Warns of ‘One World Government,’ Rise of the Anti-Christ If Trump Isn’t Reelected” HERE)

WATCH: Black Police Officer Lectures White Protester About Racism

A black Metropolitan Police Department officer lectured a white Black Lives Matter protester in Washington, DC, on Tuesday evening as she attempted to accuse one of his white colleagues of racism.

“Just because you have one black friend, or a black wife, you can still be racist,” she said, speaking through her mask, in a conversation captured on video by Breitbart News. “It has nothing to do with your acquaintances.”

She accused him of being intimidated when he walked away.

Another officer, who appeared to be African American, intervened: “It’s not intimidating … You’re trying to have a conversation, and you have a one-track mind? There’s no point … You have to be able to go in with both sides of the story.”

. . .“America has a sin problem. The world has a sin problem, ma’am. Okay? Jesus said: ‘I am the Way, the Truth, and the Light. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” (Read more from “WATCH: Black Police Officer Lectures White Protester About Racism” HERE)

WATCH: ‘CHAZ’ Sees Third Shooting

A third shooting undermined the liberal narrative of a peaceful protest at the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone in Seattle on Tuesday just before the mayor announced the encampment would be dismantled.

A 30-year-old man was shot Tuesday and transported to a local hospital in stable condition. Police would not confirm where he had received the injury, but KING-TV noted that they found the man in a designated staging area set up by the Seattle Fire Department outside the encampment.

Mayor Jenny Durkan said on Monday that the shootings in the CHAZ, also known as the Capitol Hill Occupied Protest, forced her to rescind her supportive stance on the encampment.

WATCH: Cuomo Is Now Blaming Trump for Nursing Home Deaths

After three months, this is the best this guy can do to explain away his apocalyptic error of sending infected patients back into nursing homes? Watch two minutes here, then read on.

He made the same point about supposedly being blindsided by infection in Europe in a press briefing on May 8. Pro Publica nailed him for it in a scathing piece published a week later:

“Nobody was saying, ‘Beware of people coming from Europe.’ We weren’t testing people coming from Europe,” Cuomo said. “We weren’t telling anyone at the time if you have a European visitor or European guest, make sure they get tested. They walked right through the airport.”

The narrative, of course, fails to note people were not just flying from Europe to New York, but to California and other cities and states. And it seems to portray New York, its health departments and government officials, as somehow innocent bystanders, incapable of having themselves seen the threat from Europe and factored that in their response. That Italy and Spain were being overwhelmed by the virus was hardly a secret.

Attempt to Create “Black Autonomous Zone” in Washington D.C.; Police Take Back ‘CHOP’ After Shootings

By Fox News. Seattle will move to end the police-free zone known as the “Capitol Hill Organized Protest,” or “CHOP,” after two recent shootings, one of which was deadly, Mayor Jenny Durkan announced Monday — signaling that a stunning chapter in the city’s history could be drawing to a close.

The mayor said the violence was distracting from changes sought by thousands of peaceful protesters seeking to address racial inequity and police brutality. Activists set up “CHOP” in the city’s Capitol Hill neighborhood about two weeks ago, barricading off the area after police evacuated a ransacked precinct building there.

“The cumulative impacts of the gatherings and protests and the nighttime atmosphere and violence has led to increasingly difficult circumstances for our businesses and residents,” Durkan said at a news conference. “The impacts have increased and the safety has decreased.”

City leaders have faced mounting criticism — including from President Trump — over the protest zone amid reports of violence inside the area and how police can respond to such incidents. Police had not been able to go inside the zone. The dismantling of the CHOP followed the death of a 19-year-old man in a Saturday shooting in which another person was injured.

On Sunday, a 17-year-old was shot in the arm on the edge of the area. (Read more from “WATCH: Police Will Take Back ‘CHOP’ After Shootings” HERE)

Chaos Erupts Between Police and Rioters Trying to Topple Statue and Create ‘Black House Autonomous Zone’

By The Blaze. Social media videos showed violent clashes between police and demonstrators trying to erect a “Black House Autonomous Zone” and topple the statue of former U.S. President Andrew Jackson in Lafayette Square on Monday.

The riots are just the latest in a series of protests, some of which turned violent, in the wake of the May 25 killing of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis police.

Protesters were attaching ropes and chains to the statue to force it down when Metropolitan Police and U.S. Park Police rode in and formed a protective barrier around the statue.
