WATCH: Omar Laughs While Colleague Discusses Deaths of U.S. Troops

Conservatives on Wednesday criticized Rep. Ilhan Omar after she was seen laughing while her Democratic colleague, Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee, spoke about the deaths of American soldiers in the Iraq War.

“I’m very glad to say that I was part of the 132 and also the vote for Barbara Lee’s amendment, but I think that the point of that is that that is the same war that we’re dealing with today,” Lee said in a video surfaced by the RNC Research Twitter account. “We never solved any problems with AUMF, we left four thousand plus, maybe even forty four hundred dead, and over sixty thousand who came back injured in some form and the war never ended.”

Omar could be seen in the background smiling and smirking as Jackson-Lee spoke. . .

Jackson-Lee made the remarks during a press conference held by the Congressional Progressive Caucus following a classified briefing with Trump administration officials.

Congressional Democrats slammed President Donald Trump’s ordering of a drone strike, which resulted in the death of Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani last week.

WATCH: Video Appears to Show Missile Hitting Passenger Plane in Iran

Video obtained and verified by The New York Times on Thursday appears to show an Iranian missile hitting a plane near Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran, the same area where a Ukrainian passenger plane went down earlier this week.

“A small explosion occurred when a missile hit the plane, but the plane did not explode,” The New York Times reported. “The jet continued flying for several minutes and turned back toward the airport, The Times has determined. The plane flew toward the airport ablaze before it exploded and crashed quickly, other videos verified by The Times showed.” . . .

The development comes after a Ukrainian passenger plane, which presumably is the plane shown in The Times video, crashed over Tehran on Tuesday night after Iran fired numerous missiles at U.S. forces in Iraq. . .

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a statement on Tuesday night informing U.S. civil aviation operators that they were prohibited from flying over Iran due to Iran’s military actions earlier in the night.

“The Federal Aviation Administration issued Notices to Airmen (NOTAMS) tonight outlining flight restrictions that prohibit U.S. civil aviation operators from operating in the airspace over Iraq, Iran, and the waters of the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman,” the statement said. “The FAA will continue closely monitoring events in the Middle East. We continue coordinating with our national security partners and sharing information with U.S. air carriers and foreign civil aviation authorities.” (Read more from “WATCH: Video Appears to Show Missile Hitting Passenger Plane in Iran” HERE)

WATCH: Vice President Pence Explains the Trump Admin’s Process for Dealing With Iran

Vice President Mike Pence on Wednesday night had his first interview following the killing of Qasem Soleimani. He sat down with CBS News’ Norah O’Donnell to discuss what took place.

“Iran’s supreme leader called the attack a slap in the face but are you worried a punch in the gut may be around the corner?” O’Donnell asked.

Pence said the American people can rest easier because of President Trump’s leadership and the military’s professionalism. As a result of the military’s professionalism and preparedness, there were no American or Iraqi casualties in the Iranian attacks on the al-Asad airbase. . .

“Well, we’re dealing with a country that’s been the leading state-sponsor of terrorism for more than 20 years,” Pence explained. “And so we’ll continue to be prepared, continue to confront Iran in the way that President Trump has since the beginning of this administration.” . . .

“The fact that no American lives were lost was a great relief, I know to the president and to myself, to our entire national security team as it is to every American,” Pence said. “We moved forces, we provided the level of force protection at the president’s direction, and, in a very real sense, we had the early warning systems that allowed us to move Americans and our allies out of harm’s way.”

WATCH: Tucker Carlson Lets 2007 Trump Make the Case for Why It’s Time to Leave Iraq

Fox News host Tucker Carlson played a 2007 clip of then-businessman Donald Trump to bolster his case for removing U.S. troops from Iraq.

Carlson’s opening monologue on Wednesday night’s edition of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” came a day after Iran launched missile strikes on two Iraqi military bases in retaliation for last week’s U.S. drone strike that killed Iranian General Qasem Soleimani.

The missiles “landed harmlessly” and was a “purely symbolic bombing designed to stop rather than start a larger war,” Carlson said before playing the president’s Wednesday speech saying Iran’s stand-down is “a good thing for the world.”

“‘A very good thing for the world.’ That’s a big claim. But in this case, it is not an overstatement. For the past five days, all of us have had a chance to ruminate on what war with Iran would mean for us in the United States. And of course at best it would be tragic. Very easily, it could become a catastrophe,” said the Fox News host before making his case for removing U.S. troops from Iraq entirely.

“Thousands of American troops remain stationed in Iraq,” he said. “And that’s a country that is largely run by Iran. Think about that. After nearly 17 years of American occupation, Iran’s most powerful military leader — a man that we considered a terrorist — was flying in and out of Baghdad’s airport like he owned it. That’s how comfortable he felt in Iraq. A place we supposedly control.”

WATCH: Ilhan Omar Says President Trump Imposed Sanctions to ‘Starve’ the People of Iran. She Wants Sanctions Against Israel.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) claimed during a press conference Wednesday that the U.S. sanctions against Iran re-imposed by President Donald Trump were intended to “starve” the regime’s people, causing observers to note her longstanding calls for sanctions against Israel. . .

“Since he got into office, the President of the United States has been goading Iran into war,” Omar said of President Trump. “First, he cancelled our best shot at avoiding armed conflict — the Iran Nuclear Deal — then he announced crippling sanctions to starve the innocent people of Iran.”

GOP Rapid Response Director Steve Guest posted a clip of Omar’s remarks on Twitter, saying, “You can’t make this up. 2019 Anti-Semite of the Year Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar condemns ‘crippling’ Iranian sanctions despite being an avid supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement against Israel.”

79-Year-Old Gun Shop Owner and Military Veteran Kills Burglar During Shootout (VIDEO)

The attempted burglary of a gun shop in Harris County, Texas, left one dead after an exchange of gunfire.

The 79-year-0ld gun shop owner and military veteran woke up Tuesday around 4:30 a.m. local time to find a group of men attaching chains to a car and the doors of his store, according to local news station KHOU. The store owner said he heard a ruckus outside and went to check, where he watched a vehicle pull the doors off of his shop.

After one suspect entered the shop, the owner was noticed by another burglar and fired upon. The elderly veteran returned fire, striking at least one suspect before the group fled in multiple vehicles.

Seven miles away from the gun store, officers found a man lying in the road near a vehicle. Despite attempts to administer CPR, the man was pronounced dead due to a gunshot wound. Two handguns were recovered near the body, believed to be stolen from the gun store.

Golden Globes Host: Hollywood in No Position to Lecture About Anything. You Know Nothing About the Real World; Tells Hollywood: You’re All Perverts (VIDEO)

By Breitbart. Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais skewered Hollywood during his opening monologue of the annual award show on Sunday, cracking jokes about virtue signaling celebrities, Apple sweatshops, and (their “friend”) Jeffrey Epstein.

“You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg,” Gervais told the A-list crowd at the top of the show. . .

Gervais started by complimenting Apple’s The Morning Show, starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, but soon switched into attack mode.

“A superb drama about the importance of dignity and doing the right thing made by a company the at runs sweatshops in China,” the actor-comedian said.

“If ISIS started a streaming service, you all would be calling your agents.”

Ricky Gervais at Golden Globes: You’re All Perverts

By Breitbart. Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais delivered his opening monologue on Sunday at the awards event, and called the room full of A-list stars, directors, and producers “perverts.”

“In this room are some of the most important TV and film executives in the world, people from every background,” said Gervais. “But they all have one thing in common: they’re all terrified of Ronan Farrow. He’s coming for you. He’s coming for you.”

“Look, talking to all you perverts,” he added, “it was a big year for pedophile movies. ‘Surviving R. Kelly.’ ‘Leaving Neverland.’ ‘The Two Popes.’” (Read more from “Ricky Gervais at Golden Globes: You’re All Perverts” HERE)

WATCH: Russian Pranksters Dupe Maxine Waters by Calling as Greta Thunberg Claiming to Have Dirt on Trump

. . .The 81-year-old career politician — who has been calling for Trump’s impeachment since the day he took office — appears to have been tricked by Russian pranksters into thinking she was talking to Greta Thunberg, who reportedly claimed she had dirt on Trump.

The pranksters, Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov, who go by the stage names Vovan and Lexus, recently posted a video of them talking to a woman, who identified herself as Maxine Waters in the audio. One pretends to be Greta, the other to be her father.

The conversation begins with the fake Greta telling Waters that she is in North Carolina at a climate summit calling for the protection of the fake “Chon-Go-Chango” islands. . .

“It was a really terrible meeting in the U.N. building in September with him. And I had nightmares afterwards. It’s terrible,” fake Greta told Waters. “I saw him in the hallway. He was with security and I shouted at him, ‘Sign the Paris Climate Agreement again!’ He came over, he leaned in towards me, and said softly, ‘Listen carefully to me, little girl. You will never achieve your goal, like the congressional goal, trying to accuse me.’”

“He said you will never achieve your goal? Oh my goodness.” Waters said, sounding shocked. “Did you ask him if he would rethink signing the Paris Climate Agreement? Is that your question to him?”

WATCH: Liberal Law Professor Noted Something Odd About Schumer’s Trump Impeachment Speech

By Townhall. . .It’s weak sauce, but the Russian collusion narrative was kaput, bullet-riddled by the facts. The 2020 election is here, so this was their best case. The House passed the articles of impeachment which were grounded in abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, two charges that reek of partisanship. It’s a witch hunt. It’s a joke. And the Senate awaits the transmission of those articles, which are being held hostage by Speaker Nancy Pelosi because they know it faces certain death with the Republican majority in the upper chamber. That’s not her call and her withholding of the articles creates a possible constitutional crisis of its own. Senate Democrats say they want witnesses and new documents included. They know Senate Republicans won’t budge, so this Mexican standoff continues all while Democrats and the liberal media can keep the Trump impeachment echo chamber loaded with sound. They still think they can put a dent in Trump’s approval numbers. They’ve only gone up and swing-state voters have never found this push popular. Still, the goal, as Wall Street Journal’s Kimberley Strassel noted, is “rolling impeachment.” Just keep this story around in the news cycle. A trial would further embarrass the shoddy case the Left has against Trump. It’s about keeping the appearance alive. Schumer now says that there has never been an impeachment trial where the Senate was denied testimony from witnesses.

Law professor Jonathan Turley, who may lean Left but isn’t an ideologue and will call out his side for their antics, noted that this was odd coming from a politician who didn’t want witnesses when Bill Clinton was impeached.

Impeachment Trial in Limbo as Senate Leaders Trade Blows

By Politico. Mitch McConnell and Chuck Schumer have made zero headway on designing a bipartisan set of rules for President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial more than two weeks after their first face-to-face meeting on the matter.

The two leaders gave dueling floor speeches on Friday but held no substantive meeting. In a brief conversation on the floor, Schumer told McConnell to focus on his demands. . .

As the Senate waits for the House to send it impeachment articles, McConnell said the Senate will continue its normal business and immediately moved to set up a vote on Trump’s Small Business Administration nominee next week. The House could transmit the articles as soon as next week.

“We are content to continue the ordinary business of the Senate while House Democrats continue to flounder. For now,” McConnell said. “If they ever muster the courage to stand behind their slapdash work product and transmit their articles to the Senate, it will then be time for the United States Senate to fulfill our founding purpose.” (Read more from “Impeachment Trial in Limbo as Senate Leaders Trade Blows” HERE)
