‘South Park’ Reacts to Comparison of 2020 Democratic Candidate
By Washington Examiner. The official Twitter account of Comedy Central’s “South Park” acknowledged that Twitter users were noticing in large numbers how much Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet sounds like one of its characters.
During congressional testimony back in June 2017, fired FBI Director James Comey admitted to leaking potentially classified memos about his conversations with President Trump. Comey said he gave them to a friend, who then gave them to the New York Times.
“I woke up in the middle of the night on Monday night, because it didn’t dawn on me originally, that there might be corroboration for our conversations, might be a tape, my judgement was that I needed to get that out into the public square and so I asked a friend of mine to share the content of the memo with a reporter,” Comey said at the time. “I didn’t do it myself for a variety of reasons, but asked him to, because I thought that it might prompt the appointment of a Special Counsel. I asked a close friend of mine to do that.”

In an interview on a popular New York radio program earlier this week, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., excused Palestinian violence against Israel, arguing that marginalized groups “have no choice but to riot.”
Ocasio-Cortez, speaking on Ebro in the Morning, explained her opposition to Israeli policies toward Palestinians, suggesting that Palestinian violence is a response to the conditions created by those policies.
“Once you have a group that is marginalized … once someone doesn’t have access to clean water, they have no choice but to riot,” Ocasio-Cortez said. She expanded on this point, saying poor communities in the United States or Latin America likewise have no choice but to act out violently because of their circumstances.
“I’m not even talking about Palestinians,” she said. “I’m talking about communities in poverty in the United States, I’m talking about Latin America, I’m talking about all over the world.”
“Social destabilization is what happens when people do not have a plan or feel like there’s no vision for their future,” she added.
Encouraged by the radio hosts, Ocasio-Cortez pushed back against accusations from conservatives that anti-Israel Democrats are anti-Semitic.
“The right wants to advance this notion that if you engage in critique of Israeli policy, then you are anti-Semitic,” she said.
“The same way that me criticizing Trump doesn’t make me anti-American, criticizing the occupation doesn’t make you anti-Israel,” she continued. “It doesn’t mean that you are against the existence of a nation. It means that you believe in human rights and it’s about making sure that Palestinian human rights are equal to Israeli human rights.”
First, Ocasio-Cortez is drawing a moral equivalency between Palestinian terrorists who instigate riots and fire mortars at Jewish kindergartens and Israeli Jews who are victims of that violence. There is no moral equivalency. As Israeli PM Netanyahu has said time and time again, if the Palestinians wanted peace with Israel, they could have it, and the condition for having it is accepting Israel’s existence. They don’t want peace because they hate Jews and will not accept the existence of a Jewish state. The enmity between Palestine and Israel isn’t about equal human rights; it’s about one group violently rejecting the other’s right to exist.
Second, Ocasio-Cortez has subscribed to a myth about Israel occupying Palestinian territory. That’s a lie. Under international law, Israel has the unambiguous right to the land AOC, echoing Palestinian propaganda, claims the Jewish state is occupying. The truth is there has never been a sovereign state of “Palestine,” there is no such state today, and because Israel has a legal claim to Judea, Samaria, and Eastern Jerusalem, there is no “occupation.”
Thirdly, the Palestinians engaging in violent acts against Israel are not doing so out of desperation or because of their circumstances. From a young age, Palestinian children are indoctrinated to hate Israelis. They are taught a false Arab-supremacist history that denies the Jewish people’s historic connection to their homeland. Their government subsidizes the families of convicted terrorists who commit acts of violence against Israelis. The Palestinians can choose peace, but they are taught to choose violence — and rewarded for it.
Excusing Palestinian violence under a blanket ideological belief that “marginalized” groups “have no choice but to riot” is appallingly ignorant, and yes it is anti-Semitic. It is anti-Semitic because support for Palestinian claims about Israel are based on lies about Jewish history taught by an institutionalized system of hateful indoctrination that encourages and supports terrorism against the Jewish people and denies the world’s only Jewish state its right to exist. By Townhall. We expected health care to be a hot topic at Tuesday night’s Democratic debate in Detroit, and we were wrong. It was on fire. Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) were basically at the throats of the more moderate candidates onstage who questioned their Medicare for All plans.
Rep. John Delaney (D-MD) was on the front lines for the Army of the Moderates. In the beginning stages of the debate, he told Sanders exactly what he thought of his health care idea and how it would boot Americans off their private insurance plans.
“Why do we have to be the party of taking something away from someone?” Delaney wondered. . .
Sanders insisted his idea was sound and that his government option would not only be more moral, but would drive costs down for hospitals and for the middle class. Hospitals will be “better off,” he argued. He would go on to use Canada as an example of a country that’s doing it right and treating health care as a “human right.” . . .
Yet other candidates, like South Bend, IN Mayor Pete Buttigieg, were also not thrilled with Medicare for All. He had a slightly different idea. Buttigieg’s Medicare for All Who Want It plan would offer a public alternative that would be both “more affordable and more comprehensive” than corporate options, he argued. By Fox News. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., on Tuesday was not happy at the 2020 Democratic debate audience’s reaction to her pulling the debate back to her story of a friend who was suffering from ALS while battling his insurance company — telling the audience “this isn’t funny.”
The moment came during a heated discussion between candidates about the costs and consequences of “Medicare-for-all” policies. Warren, who is a passionate critic of the current private health care system and insurance companies, said she wanted to talk about Ady Barkan — a 35-year-old activist suffers from ALS. Warren said “it’s killing him.”
She said that he had good health insurance but it wasn’t enough for him to get the treatment he needs. But before she could finish her story, she was cut off by CNN moderator Jake Tapper who then asked her about whether she would raise taxes on the middle class to pay for it. . .

Kicking off Tuesday’s Democratic primary debate hosted by CNN, presidential candidate Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) refused to hold his hand over his heart during the playing of our national anthem. He was the only candidate on stage to do so.
Democrats have largely supported national anthem protest by famous athletes, such as former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who claims he took a knee to protest rampant racism and police brutality. However, the ex-NFL’er recently worked to have Nike cancel a pair of Revolution Era, Betsy Ross-style American flag shoes, revealing that he actually has an issue with the flag.
A viral video of comments from Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) is being criticized by the left and the media because it was unfairly edited, but the unedited version is arguably worse.
The edited video appears to show Omar advocating for increased surveillance on white males in the United States rather than Muslims because they are a greater threat.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) was among those who shared the video, adding, “I am sure the media will now hound every Democrat to denounce this statement as racist. Right?”

Many criticized Rubio for posting an edited video that misrepresented her full remarks. In the unedited version, she adds the hypothetical “if fear were the driving force” to her statement.
“And so if fear was the driving force of policies to keep America safe, Americans safe inside of this country, we should be profiling, monitoring, and creating policies to fight the radicalization of white men,” she says in the unedited version.

Brian Hastings, Chief of Law Enforcement at the U.S. Border Patrol, made a stunning claim on Thursday about the U.S. citizen who was detained by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for three weeks, saying that the individual never claimed to be an American.
Hastings remark came in response to a question from Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) about the detained U.S. citizen, Francisco Erwin Galicia, during a House Judiciary Committee hearing on some of the Trump administration’s policies on the border.
“I can give you some preliminary: the individual came through the Falfurrias checkpoint, he came through with the other illegal aliens, the individual claimed to be a Mexican national who was born in Reynosa, Mexico,” Hastings said. “Throughout the process, and while he was with Border Patrol, he claimed to be a citizen of Mexico with no immigration documents to be in or remain in the U.S.”
“Upon further investigation, we also found he had a border crossing card and that border crossing card he had used 53 times to cross the border into the U.S. which gives us further indication that he was not a U.S. citizen,” Hastings continued. “At no time in Border Patrol custody did he say that he was a U.S. citizen.”

While all of Cummings’ so-called “accomplishments” look great to the Democratic Party, one of his residents, Michelle, completely agrees with what President Trump said.
“What he [President Trump] said was definitely true,” Michelle said in a video. “He [Cummings] hasn’t done anything for us for the last, I think he’s been in office over 20 years?”
Trump is right about Baltimore — and the Democrats know it

Speaker Nancy Pelosi — whose father was once mayor of Baltimore — called Cummings “a beloved leader in Baltimore, and deeply valued colleague. We all reject racist attacks against him and support his steadfast leadership.” Senator Elizabeth Warren tweeted, “Donald Trump’s tweets are ugly and racist.” Beto O’Rourke called him “the most openly racist president we’ve had in modern history.” Senator Bernie Sanders chimed in, too.
The operative rule in politics these days seems to be that any criticism of a non-white politician from anywhere to their right is, by definition, a racist attack. Nothing Trump said pertained in any way to Elijah Cummings’s skin color or ethnicity, only to his failure as a legislator and political leader to do anything to improve his district. The real question is: Is he right? . . .
By any measure of systemic urban collapse, Baltimore is, as Trump said “very dangerous & filthy.” Among the largest 30 American cities, Baltimore has the highest crime rate, and is a close second to Detroit for the highest rate of violent crime. But for murders, Baltimore is second to no other city, with more than 50 homicides per 100,000 people. That puts Charm City in the ranks of Jamaica, Venezuela, and El Salvador in terms of lethality. . .
Some have suggested that it’s unfair for the president to blame Elijah Cummings for his district’s woes, since congressmen don’t control local issues like trash pickup or law enforcement. But Cummings is a Democratic powerbroker in Baltimore, which has been run by a succession of failed mayors—one of whom stole gift cards meant for poor children, and another who “sold” thousands of copies of her unreadable book to the public hospital system. Local state’s attorney Marilyn Mosby is credited with bungling the investigation into the death of Freddie Gray. Cummings is an integral part of a corrupt, dysfunctional political machine that is directly responsible for Baltimore’s misery. A CNN crew [was] covering the ongoing Hong Kong protests, which have more than once proved violent over the months. On Friday, thousands took over an airport, clad in black, and tensions escalated quickly.
CNN correspondent Anna Coren was on scene at the airport, clad in protective gear, when fears of violence turned to the reality of it, and she and her crew were right in the middle. . .
“Let me tell you what is happening. We have just been charged by riot police, up the escalator, into the train station, this is absolute mayhem,” she said. “They have just come at the protesters, wielding batons, spraying pepper spray. It is pandemonium inside here.”
“I have no idea how they are planning to disperse these crowds. It is absolute chaos,” she said. “Absolutely chaotic scene. I have never witnessed anything quite like this, where there was a peaceful, peaceful demonstration inside. These protesters, they are not trashing anything, all they were doing is standing here. They were being pushed on. Then all of sudden these riot police charged.”
Dramatic footage, dramatic description, and a months-long environment of dozens more such scenes as the pro-democracy protests continue to result in confrontations with authorities in Hong Kong.

The family was given no explanation when the boy was seized, and CPS agents refused to answer their questions. The agents simply showed up at the family’s home, accompanied by armed officers, and demanded the child.
THSC attorney Chris Branson, representing the family, said Children’s Medical Center in Dallas reported the family to CPS after the family filed a complaint against the hospital claiming Drake received poor treatment. . . .
“Children’s informed the family that they would review the matter and resolve it within 45 days. On day 46, with the family still having heard nothing from the Children’s Medical Center, CPS showed up at the family’s door with an affidavit signed by one of the hospital’s doctors and removed Drake,” the homeschool group said.
