Pelosi’s Defense of Ilhan Omar Just Took an Interesting Turn

So, with the Mueller report being dropped over the weekend, the Ilhan Omar fiasco has been buried…for now. The Minnesota Democratic congresswoman has engulfed her party in an anti-Semitism pickle that exposed the cracks in the new House majority. It also showed that Speaker Nancy Pelosi is incapable of controlling the far left-wing elements within her own caucus. She caved.

Omar has a long history of peddling anti-Semitism. From tweeting about Israel’s hypnotic powers in 2012 to allegations of dual loyalty lobbed at supporters of the Jewish state, it’s been ugly. The dual loyalty fiasco is by far the worst example of explicit anti-Semitism peddled by Omar, one that she has yet to offer an apology. It’s not going to happen, of course. It did force House Democrats to vote on a resolution condemning anti-Semitism, but a closed-door meeting led to a rumble between Democrats who wanted to vote for a strong resolution to those who wanted to water it down because they didn’t want to single out Omar. It took days for the Left to get their act together and in the end; the resolution became an all-encompassing anti-bad things resolution that was straight trash.

Pelosi then had to do her job and defend Omar, which she did by pretty much calling her an idiot, saying she cannot be anti-Semitic because she doesn’t understand words. Again, if she’s that dense, why is she on a key house committee—Foreign Affairs—and no one should buy that so-called defense anyway. Omar has lived her for nearly a quarter-century. She’s been educated here. The way you know there’s no defense of Omar’s alleged bigotry is that the Left is going way over the top to defend her. We have Democrats downplaying the Holocaust. Yet, did Pelosi just gut her ‘Omar is a moron’ defense at AIPAC? She did say those who peddle anti-Semitism are anti-American (via NTK Network):

Without mentioning her by name, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) took a swing at fellow House Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) for her recent string of anti-Semitic comments, declaring at AIPAC on Tuesday that “to be anti-Semitic is to be anti-American.”

Watch: Ocasio-Cortez Attempts to Rewrite History

By The Daily Caller. Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez attempted to rewrite history in real time during her Friday night MSNBC town hall event with host Chris Hayes.

As the freshman Democrat waxed on about the time in history when her party was at its strongest — during the Great Depression leading up to World War II — she claimed that the 22nd Amendment was ratified in order to prevent President Franklin Delano Roosevelt from running again.

Yes, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ‘Inspired’ Me. No, Not in the Way She Thinks

By The Daily Caller. As a conservative, I never thought the day would come when I would agree with Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — but when she tweeted on Saturday that her St. Louis event (which I attended) had “inspired me,” I had to admit that she was right.

I would bet a considerable amount of money that we don’t agree for the same reasons, however.

Ocasio-Cortez, amid a full-scale Twitter assault on exiting Missouri Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill, took a moment to remind everyone that she had attended a rally in St. Louis — a rally intended to help newcomer Cori Bush topple longtime incumbent Missouri Democratic Rep. William “Lacy” Clay. . .

But I was not inspired by her calls for “free” college, because the emotional undertow in that room was not enough to make me forget that nothing is actually “free,” and that government cannot give anything to anyone without first confiscating it from someone else. It was not enough to make me forget economics and the fact that flooding the market with bachelor’s degrees would render them all but meaningless. . .

What really inspired me, truth be told, was not the event at all but the aftermath of it. For weeks, the hate mail came, accusing me of being heartless and cruel for refusing to say that the government not only should but must be responsible for providing health care and education. Messages poured in via Twitter and Facebook. A few people even stalked my Instagram — which has never been used for politics and was a place I hadn’t even posted in over a year. One letter came to my house, benign in content, but sending that oh-so-subtle “we know where you live” threat. Stephen Colbert even did a segment ridiculing me on national television. WATCH: Donald Trump Jr. Pounds the Media Over Their Coverage of Russia Investigation

Donald Trump Jr. slammed the media over its handling of the Russia investigation on Sunday during an interview with Fox News’ Howard Kurtz on “Media Buzz,” saying that “it became a business model for most media to attack Donald Trump and to buy into this narrative.”

Trump Jr.’s interview came after Attorney General William Barr sent a letter to Congress over a week ago that revealed that Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation did not find that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia and that there was not enough evidence to pursue charging the president with obstruction of justice.

Speaking on whether he thought Mueller’s investigation wanted to find President Donald Trump guilty of crimes, Trump Jr. said: “I think so because they didn’t find anything, but the reality is there was nothing there to find. Now I don’t believe for one second that there’s not one person on that team whose dream it would not have been to take down Donald Trump — I stand by that 100 percent.” . . .

“I think there were some people that tried to actually be fair — when they were actually fair you’d see the other side just try to just obliterate them, right, even their own following. So you know, I think there were a couple of people that did good reporting, and I don’t mean you know conservative reporters,” Trump Jr. said. “I mean actually people on the other side that were at least unbiased or try to look at it objectively… They lost their following, they get ratioed to heck, you know, it became a business model for most media to attack Donald Trump and to buy into this narrative. And if you didn’t you upset a lot of people, you risked your career, and you risked other things.”

Fox Guest: Michelle Obama Got Smollett Charges Dropped, Here’s Why

A Wednesday Fox Business segment labeled Jussie Smollett’s exoneration a “travesty of justice” and sought to confirm conspiracy theories Michelle Obama called in “favors” to get his charges dropped by Cook County prosecutors.

Fox Business host Stuart Varney opened his Tuesday segment declaring “the influence and power of liberal elites” was on full display in Chicago this week as Illinois prosecutors waived 16 charges against the Empire star. Self-proclaimed libertarian and Sean Hannity correspondent Lawrence Jones III touted unfounded and baseless claims former First Lady Michelle Obama “made some phone calls” to have the charges dropped in order to distract Americans from the disclosure of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation into President Donald Trump.

Although Republican Senate House Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was behind the blocking of the full Mueller report, the Fox crew nonetheless accused Democrat politicians — and their wives — of corrupting Cook County prosecutors.

“We know that Michelle Obama’s chief of staff made some phone calls,” Jones said on Fox Business Wednesday. “I would also note that the reason why they released this now is because after the Trump investigation was concluded they knew during the news cycle this was the perfect time to release this.” The frequent Fox News guest cited Chicago Sun-Times, which reported Tina Tchen, a Chicago attorney who formerly worked for Obama, had previously asked Cook County lead prosecutor Kim Foxx to coerce the Chicago Police Department into turning the investigation over to federal authorities.

Federal Judge Strikes Down Ban on Firearm Magazines

By The Blaze. A federal judge struck down a California ban on magazines that are capable of housing more than 10 rounds because he said the law violated the Second Amendment.

Judge Roger T. Benitez of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California issued the judgement on Friday afternoon and totally invalidated the ban. . .

“Plaintiffs contend that the state’s magazine ban thus cannot survive constitutionally-required heightened scrutiny and they are entitled to declaratory and injunctive relief as a matter of law,” he explained. “Plaintiffs are correct.” . . .

“Judge Benitez took the Second Amendment seriously and came to the conclusion required by the Constitution,” said NRA-ILA Executive Director Chris Cox.

“The same should be true of any court analyzing a ban on a class of arms law-abiding Americans commonly possess for self-defense or other lawful purposes,” he concluded.

Federal Court Strikes Down Magazine Ban

By The Daily Caller. Judge Benitez continues, “The statute hits at the center of the Second Amendment and its burden is severe. When the simple test of Heller is applied, a test that persons of common intelligence can understand, the statute fails and is an unconstitutional abridgment. It criminalizes the otherwise lawful acquisition and possession of common magazines holding more than 10 rounds – magazines that law-abiding responsible citizens would choose for self-defense at home. It also fails the strict scrutiny test because the statute is not narrowly tailored – it is not tailored at all.”

The ruling is another legal blow to gun control efforts in the state. Back in July, a three-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit ruled in the case to uphold a lower court’s ruling to block the enforcement of California’s restriction on the possession of firearm magazines that hold 10 rounds or more. . .

California has banned selling or purchasing magazines with more than a 10-round capacity since 2000; however, anyone who possessed these magazines prior to the law was grandfathered in and were allowed to keep the magazines. Three years ago, voters approved a measure to do away with the provision and the NRA filed a lawsuit. (Read more from “Federal Court Strikes Down Magazine Ban” HERE)

Watch: Police Forcibly Remove Toddler From Home Because of Fever

By ABC News. An Arizona lawmaker is questioning a local police department’s use of force in removing a feverish child from a home after a doctor reported the parents to the state’s Department of Child Safety.

On Feb. 25, the mother of a 2-year-old child, who is not vaccinated, took the child to a naturopathic doctor with a fever of 105 degrees, ABC Phoenix station KNXV reported.

The doctor instructed the mother to take the toddler to the emergency room as soon as possible, but since the child’s fever later broke, she took him back to their home in Chandler, about 25 miles southeast of Phoenix, instead, according to a statement from the Chandler Police Department.

When the doctor learned from the Cardon Children’s Hospital that they parents never showed up with the child, she called Arizona DCS, who then contacted the Chandler Police Department for assistance, an incident report shows. . .

Officers then “forced entry into the home” after DCS had obtained a court order to take temporary custody of the child due to a “possible life threatening illness,” the report states. (Read more from “Police Forcibly Remove Toddler From Home Because of Fever” HERE)

Valley Children Removed From Home Over Fever

By ABC 15. State Representative Kelly Townsend says she’s troubled by video that shows Chandler police officers with guns drawn, forcing their way into a family’s home.

The officers were there for a 2-year-old boy who was believed to have an extremely high fever.

Townsend, a Republican in District 16, played a big role in getting legislation passed requiring the Arizona Department of Child Safety to get a search warrant to remove children from their home in a non-emergency situation. Townsend says she never thought this would be the result.

“The doctor chose to use DCS to remove the child and DCS chose to use the police and the police chose to use the SWAT team,” said Townsend. “That is not the country that I recognize.” . . .

Townsend says she can see both sides on this story: a concerned doctor and protective parents, but she’s questioning how it was done and the amount of force used. (Read more from “Valley Children Removed From Home Over Fever” HERE)

Intelligence Committee Republicans Demand Adam Schiff’s Immediate Resignation as Chair

Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee have united to call for Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff’s “immediate resignation” as the chairman of the committee.

In a letter signed by all nine Republican members of the committee, GOP lawmakers cite Schiff’s continuous claims that he had evidence that President Trump conspired with the Russian government to win the 2016 presidential election.

Rep. Schiff has regularly, without evidence, accused President Trump of colluding with the Russian government to win the 2016 presidential election. Moreover, he has often claimed that he personally possesses proof of collusion. Yet he has never presented any of this supposed evidence to the public.

In addition to being an apparent collusion truther, Schiff is regularly accused of leaking sensitive information.

President Trump has described the Democrat congressman as “one of the biggest liars and leakers in Washington.” He took to Twitter this morning demanding Schiff’s immediate resignation for his work in spreading the false Russian collusion conspiracy theories.

The GOP’s newfound inspiration comes on the heels of special counsel Robert Mueller concluding, according to Attorney General William Barr, that there is zero evidence that the president colluded with Russia.

Prior to the 2018 elections, Schiff promised that the Democrats’ Trump-Russia campaign “won’t stop when we take the majority.” In other words, if Mueller failed to prosecute the president, then Schiff would take up that mantle and tie up President Trump in sham investigations. Puerto Rico’s Governor Threatens to Physically Attack Trump

By Daily Wire. CNN’s Jim Acosta sat back and smiled on Thursday as Puerto Rican Governor Ricardo Rossello threatened to physically attack President Donald Trump, saying that he would punch him in the mouth.

In the interview, which aired on “CNN Right Now With Brianna Keilar,” Rossello said: “If the bully gets close, I’ll punch the bully in the mouth.”

Trump: I’ve Taken Better Care of Puerto Rico Than ‘Any Living Human Being’

By The Daily Beast. President Trump told reporters on Thursday that he has “taken better care of Puerto Rico than any man ever.” “Puerto Rico has been taken care of better by Donald Trump than by any living human being and I think the people of Puerto Rico understand that,” he claimed. “But you do have the mayor of San Juan who, frankly, doesn’t know what she’s doing—and the governor, they gotta spend the money wisely. They don’t know how to spend the money, and they’re not spending it wisely—but I’m giving them more money than they’ve ever gotten[.]” The mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico, very publicly criticized Trump for his treatment of the U.S. territory in the wake of hurricanes Maria and Irma, going so far as to claim his administration killed people due to “neglect.” The Washington Post reported earlier this week that Trump complained about the amount of aid funding Puerto Rico got in comparison to Florida and Texas to GOP senators.

Was John Brennan’s House Intel Testimony Also Based on ‘Bad Information’?

By The Daily Caller. Former CIA Director John Brennan’s recent admission he received “bad information” that led him to inaccurately predict conspiracy indictments in the Mueller probe is raising questions about claims he made to Congress about contacts between the Trump campaign and Russians.

Brennan told the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence in May 2017 the CIA provided the FBI with information on contacts between Russian officials and Trump campaign figures. . .

“I encountered and am aware of information and intelligence that revealed contacts and interactions between Russian officials and U.S. persons involved in the Trump campaign,” he added, noting he had not seen evidence of collusion between the Trump associates and Russians. . .

Brennan acknowledged after Barr’s revelation that he may have relied on “bad information” when he recently predicted conspiracy indictments against Trump associates in the Mueller probe.

“Well, I don’t know if I received bad information, but I think I suspected there was more than there actually was,” Brennan said. “I am relieved that it’s been determined there was not a criminal conspiracy with the Russian government over our election. I think that is good news for the country.” (Read more from “Was John Brennan’s House Intel Testimony Also Based on ‘Bad Information’?” HERE)

Rand Paul: ‘Source’ Says John Brennan Pushed Discredited Steele Dossier

By Fox News. Citing a “high-level source,” Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul charged in a bombshell Twitter post late Wednesday that anti-Trump ex-CIA Director John Brennan “insisted that the unverified and fake Steele dossier” be included in a classified intelligence community report on Russian interference in the 2016 elections — a decision that ultimately lent credibility to the dossier and may have played a key role in fomenting unfounded fears of Russia collusion for two years.

Paul called on Brennan to testify under oath immediately, as Republicans continue to aggressively seek out the origins of the collusion narrative. Fox News had not independently verified Paul’s source, and Brennan has not replied to Fox News’ requests for comment.

Fox News is told Paul’s tweet specifically accused Brennan of pushing to incorporate the dossier into the January 2017 official intelligence community assessment (ICA) from the FBI, CIA, and NSA that Russia worked to interfere in the 2016 election.

However, the dossier is not referenced in the unclassified summary of the ICA report that has been publicly released. Former Director of National Intelligence (DNI) James Clapper previously testified that the dossier was not ultimately used in the ICA at all.

CNN reported on Jan. 12, 2017, based on anonymous sources, that intelligence officials briefed Trump on Jan. 6, 2017 with a “synopsis” of the contents of the dossier, which was written by ex-British spy Christopher Steele. Among the claims in the discredited dossier were that the Russian government had humiliating and compromising information concerning Trump. Trump to Declassify Documents Related to FBI, FISA

President Donald Trump told Sean Hannity on Wednesday that he will declassify FBI- and FISA-related documents, now that special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation has concluded.

“I have plans to declassify and release. I have plans to absolutely release,” Trump said, adding that he wanted to declassify documents in 2018 but was told by his lawyers not to do it during the Mueller investigation.

“One of the reasons that my lawyers didn’t want me to do it, they said if I do it, they will call it a form of obstruction, so they will say, oh, you released these documents so we would make all of this information transparent,” Trump said of his lawyers advice, declaring, “But at the right time, we will be absolutely releasing it. I did the right thing by not doing it so far.”
