It’s Now Racist to Ask Students to ‘Be Respectful in Class’

White professors can no longer tell their students to “be respectful in class” or ask them to take their feet off of desks or to turn off their phones, lest they be investigated for racial bias.

Anita Moss, a senior lecturer of biology at the University of Texas-San Antonio (UTSA) was investigated after she called police on a repeatedly disruptive student, according to the College Fix. Moss, who is white, had been telling Paige Burgess, who is black, all semester to be less disruptive and to take her feet off of chairs.

The tweet went viral and media outlets like BET claimed Burgess was removed simply for being black and putting her feet up. Rawal continued tweeting that in the prior class, Moss “went on a whole tirade about how uncivil we all were because a few students were on their phone or not paying attention, cutting lecture time for the rest of us because her ego was bruised.” . . .

UTSA conducted an investigation and found Moss did not discriminate against the student. The university spoke to Burgess, interviewed current and previous students, and concluded “racial bias was not a factor.” Burgess herself said she never thought she was disciplined because of the color of her skin.

Even though Moss was cleared of racial discrimination and had positive reviews from students, she was removed from class for the semester. The racial bias investigation was not the only investigation going on. Her demands for proper classroom etiquette were also reviewed, and led to her removal, the Fix reported. Senator Remembers George H.W. Bush’s Legacy with Jabs at Trump and the GOP

For most, the memorials to former President George H.W. Bush have been solemn, dignified, and apolitical. For others, however, they appear to be just another opportunity to criticize their political opponents.

Case in point: Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., whose Tuesday Senate floor remarks about the 41st president’s legacy were riddled with thinly veiled political barbs and held the late president up as a foil against the current Republican party and administration.

For example, when it came to global warming and pollution, Bush had “close ties to the oil industry” but still “believed in science,” Durbin said. “What a welcome change that would be in Washington today if his party felt the same.”

“What a sharp contrast to the current administration,” Durbin later added after running down a list of the late president’s various environmental efforts.

His conclusion is a pretty obvious shot at Trump. “Our sadness at losing him seems partly a reflection for our own deep, deep yearning as a nation today for the kind of leadership, and character, and integrity and honesty and courage that he brought to the office of presidency,” Durbin said.

“As President Bush’s own life shows us,” Durbin said toward the beginning of his speech, “there’s a time for politics and there’s a time to put politics aside.”

Woman in Migrant Caravan Scales Border Wall to Give Birth in U.S.

A Honduran woman is believed to be the first member of the migrant caravan to have a child in the United States after scaling the border wall with her family and giving birth within 24 hours. . .

Maryury Elizabeth Serrano-Hernandez, 19, was more than seven months pregnant when she left Honduras, along with her husband Miguel Ortiz, 20, and their three-year-old son, travelling more than 2,000 miles. . .

At the makeshift camp, Serrano-Hernandez and her husband say they feared for their safety after being surrounded by Mexicans who weren’t happy they were there. Scared and outnumbered, they decided to cross the border illegally. U.S. inspectors at the main border crossing in San Diego are processing up to about 100 asylum claims every day. Some desperate migrants are crossing the border illegally, avoiding the wait.

Calling the birth in the U.S. a “big reward” for her family’s journey, Serrano-Hernandez told Univision, which documented parts of their journey: “With the faith in God, I always said my son will be born there (in America).”

After somehow climbing the border wall, Serrano-Hernandez and her family were met by three border patrol agents who demanded they return to Tijuana. The family refused and asked for asylum. They were taken to the Imperial Beach Station in San Diego County for processing. (Read more from “Woman in Migrant Caravan Scales Border Wall to Give Birth in U.S.” HERE)

Classless: Watch How Disrespectfully Hillary Treats Melania at Bush Funeral

As Former Presidents Greeted Donald Trump at Bush Funeral, Hillary Clinton Refused to Even Look at Him

By Inquisitr. Donald Trump crossed paths with Bill and Hillary Clinton for the first time since his Inauguration Day, and it went about as well as everyone probably expected.

President Trump sat in the same row as past presidents at the funeral of George H.W. Bush on Wednesday, and video from the Guardian caught what appeared to be a tense moment between him and the couple he frequently assails on social media. As Trump made his way to the pew at the National Cathedral, he stopped to shake hands with Barack and Michelle Obama while Jimmy Carter gave him a nod from down the row. Three seats down, Bill Clinton also turned his head to Trump. Hillary refused to even look at him.

Many had wondered how Trump and Hillary Clinton might interact, given that the president has spent months public calling for his attorney general to investigate her — repeatedly going against his post-election pledge to retire the “lock her up” chants and allow Hillary and Bill to slip back into private life.

George W. Bush Eulogizes George H.W. Bush: ‘the Best Father a Son or Daughter Could Have’

On Wednesday, former President George W. Bush gave a moving eulogy for his father, the late former President George H. W. Bush, at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.

“To his very last days, dad’s life was instructive,” Bush said. “As he aged, he taught us how to grow with dignity, humor, and kindness. And when the good Lord finally called, how to meet him with courage and with the joy of the promise of what lies ahead.”

“He showed me what it means to be a president who serves with integrity, leads with courage, and acts with love in his heart for the citizens of our country. When the history books are written, they will say that George H.W. Bush was a great president of the United States.”

“The best father a son or daughter could have,” he said in closing.

Watch: Chris Pratt Reads Luke’s Gospel at Disneyland’s Candlelight Ceremony, Speaks of God’s Love for His Children

For some inexplicable reason that can only be described as a Christmas miracle, Disneyland has continued to uphold its overtly religious Candlelight ceremony every year since the park opened in 1955. A ceremony filled by light and wonder, where visitors to the “happiest place on earth” are invited to remember the holiest event in history, complete with traditional Christmas hymns like “Silent Night” and a reading of Luke’s Gospel from a celebrity guest.

This year’s reading was offered by none other than Chris Pratt from Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy.” Past narrators include Darth Vader’s alter-ego James Earl Jones, Dick Van Dyke and Ginnifer Goodwin, whose vocal talents could be heard in “Zootopia.”

According to Theme Park Insider, the annual Candlelight processional offered at Disneyland is markedly different than the one offered at Disney World’s Epcot. For 63 years, the Disneyland event has remained “an exclusive affair, playing just four shows across two nights on the first weekend in December.” No seats are offered to the public and it’s invitation-only. Spectators, however, can watch the show in designated standing room-viewing areas in the perimeter of Main Street’s Town Square.

“The show begins with a live orchestra performing an overture of holidays songs, as the choir proceeds down Main Streets,” reports TPI. “As they enter Town Square, we hear the 600 voices for the first time, as the orchestra accompanies their procession on to the stage, illuminated by their candles and the Star of Bethlehem on the Main Street train station.”

“More than a dozen local school, church, and community choirs joined singers from the Disneyland and Walt Disney Studios cast,” the report continues. “The program includes all the greatest hits of the holiday choral repertoire, including ‘Away in a Manger,’ ‘Angels We Have Heard on High,’ ‘What Child Is This?’ and ‘Silent Night,’ interspersed with the telling of the Christmas story from the Bible.” (Read more from “Watch: Chris Pratt Reads Luke’s Gospel at Disneyland’s Candlelight Ceremony, Speaks of God’s Love for His Children” HERE)

Climate Hysteria: U.N. Climate Summit Warns Climate Change Is Going to Kill Everything

By Daily Wire. Naturalist Sir David Attenborough sounded the climate change hysteria alarm on Monday at the opening ceremony of the United Nations Climate Conference, warning that civilization is about to collapse.

“Right now, we are facing a man-made disaster of global scale,” Attenborough began. “Our greatest threat in thousands of years: Climate change.”

“If we don’t take action, the collapse of our civilizations and the extinction of much of the natural world is on the horizon,” Attenborough claimed. “The world’s people have spoken. Their message is clear. Time is running out. They want you, the decision-makers, to act now.” .

Climate Change Could Lead to ‘a Collapse of Our Civilization’ According to Sir David Attenborough

By USA Today. . .The 92-year-old TV presenter blamed humans for the “disaster of global scale, our greatest threat in thousands of years.”

The United Nations’ conference, known as COP24 (the informal name for the 24th Conference of the Parties), is an annual gathering of the world’s top experts on climate change.

Also speaking at the conference, the head of the U.N. didn’t have many encouraging words, either: “Even as we witness devastating climate impacts causing havoc across the world, we are still not doing enough, nor moving fast enough, to prevent irreversible and catastrophic climate disruption,” U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres told the thousands of delegates from almost 200 countries who gathered in the city of Katowice, Poland.

“We need a complete transformation of our global energy economy, as well as how we manage land and forest resources,” Guterres said. “We need to embrace low-carbon, climate-resilient sustainable development.” (Read more from “Climate Change Could Lead to ‘a Collapse of Our Civilization’ According to Sir David Attenborough” HERE)

Tijuana Shuts Down Migrant Caravan Shelter

By Washington Times. The city government of Tijuana announced Saturday that it has closed down a migrant shelter at a sports complex close to the U.S. border that once held about 6,000 Central Americans who hope to get into the U.S.

Officials said all the migrants were being moved to a former concert venue much farther from the border. The city said in a statement the sports complex shelter was closed because of “bad sanitary conditions.”

Experts had expressed concerns about unsanitary conditions that had developed at the partly flooded sports complex, where the migrants had been packed into a space adequate for half their numbers. Mud, lice infestations and respiratory infections were rampant.

The remaining migrants were taken by bus to the new shelter about 10 miles from the border crossing at Otay Mesa and 14 miles from San Ysidro, near where people line up to file applications for asylum in the United States.

Tijuana officials had said earlier that nobody would be forced to move to the new facility, a large building and concrete patio known as El Barretal that was used for concerts and other events until about six years ago. But they also warned they would stop offering food and medical services at the Benito Juarez sports complex. (Read more from “Tijuana Shuts Down Migrant Caravan Shelter” HERE)

Watch: Ocasio-Cortez Compares Election Victory to Something out of This World – Literally

Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez rambled on Friday that her election victory was on par with the United States landing on the moon, something that she falsely thinks was a political victory for the Democrats over the Republicans.

Ocasio-Cortez made the remarks at a press conference for the far-left Sunshine Movement in Washington where she made incoherent statements. . .

“Because in every moment when our country has reached the depths of darkness, in every moment when we were at the brink, at the cusp of an abyss and we did not know if we would be capable of saving ourselves, we have,” Ocasio-Cortez continued. “We’ve done it. We’ve dug deep and we’ve done what we thought was impossible.” (Read more from “Watch: Ocasio-Cortez Compares Election Victory to Something out of This World – Literally” HERE)

Watch: Democrat Rep Calls for Death of GOP Rep’s Family

An Illinois state Democratic lawmaker is facing increasing pressure to resign after she called for the deaths of a Republican lawmaker’s family during a floor speech this week.

Democrat Rep. Stephanie Kifowit said she wanted to pump a “broth of Legionella” into Republican Rep. Peter Breen’s water system so his wife and children would “be infected” and “ultimately die.”

“I would like to make him a broth of Legionella and pump it into the water system of his loved ones so that they can be infected, they can be mistreated, they can sit and suffer by getting aspirin instead of being properly treated and ultimately die,” Kifowit said in a fit of rage.

Kifowit’s horrifying remark “came just before the Illinois House voted 71-36 to override Gov. Bruce Rauner’s amendatory veto of a bill to increase the cap the state pays in civil litigation cases from $100,000 to $2 million,” The Chicago Sun-Times reported.

“How dare you concoct up some sort of story about brewing up some batch of Legionella and having him feed it to his family,” [Republican Rep. Jeanne] Ives fired back. “How dare you take the discussion and the debate about a very serious bill that has a huge cost consequence on both sides, both for the victim and the state taxpayers. How dare you take an honest debate about an issue and then wish death on my colleague Peter Breen, his wife and his two adopted kids.”
