White House Reporters Audibly Shocked at Sight of Joe Biden in White House Briefing Room

Reporters in the White House press briefing were audibly shocked when President Joe Biden entered the room Friday to take questions for the first time in his administration.

Biden paid a surprise visit to the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room to give remarks about the latest jobs report and take several questions for about 15 minutes. Reporters gasped when the president entered the room for the first time in his presidency alongside White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

When Biden began his fourth year in office, he was averaging the lowest number of press conferences per year, 11, since former President Ronald Reagan, according to data compiled by the University of California at Santa Barbara’s American Presidency Project. As of Feb. 2024, Biden had participated in fewer interviews with media outlets than his predecessors, only doing 86 interviews since his inauguration in 2021, according to NBC News.

The president appeared in the briefing room after an early morning report from Axios that the president has had no public events scheduled on 43 of the 75 days since he ended his 2024 campaign. Of the public events the president did participate in, only two were scheduled before 11 a.m., zero before 10 a.m. and five after 5 p.m., the Axios analysis shows. The president has also taken all calls and meetings with world leaders, except for one instance, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 5 p.m since leaving the race, Axios reported.

Fox News host Sandra Smith criticized White House reporters Friday for not asking President Joe Biden questions about the victims of Hurricane Helene during a press briefing.

Over 200 people were killed by the hurricane, with people in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia still struggling to recover from wind damage and flooding. Smith noted the conditions in the southeast and questioned why reporters failed to ask what the Biden administration was doing to alleviate the “absolute devastation” when the president appeared for the press briefing.

“It is still dire circumstances there, and Mike, worth pointing out when that White House press briefing was happening, what the opportunity was that those journalists had to ask questions of the president, I didn’t any hear questions about the storm damage or the relief efforts. There are people who are still stranded in their homes right now,” Smith said.

‘They Have Decided to Go Silent’: Springfield Police Cut Radio Access as Springfield Descends Into ‘Absolute Turmoil,’ Says Ohio Police Chief

Tremont City Police Chief Chad Duncan says Springfield, Ohio, has fallen into “absolute turmoil” since the arrival of approximately 20,000 Haitian nationals.

Blaze News’ Julio Rosas returned to Tremont City, located approximately eight miles outside Springfield, this week to speak with local officials and residents to learn their perspective on the impact of the new arrivals.

Duncan told Rosas that Springfield has descended into lawlessness and that he is concerned it is spreading to nearby towns, including Tremont City.

“You’ve got a city that’s in absolute turmoil,” he said, referring to Springfield. “Everybody’s against everybody.”

One of Duncan’s most significant concerns is the increase in traffic accidents caused by Haitian drivers, who often are not licensed to operate vehicles, he said.

He told Blaze News that Tremont City law enforcement is doing everything possible to crack down on the potentially deadly crashes but noted that Springfield appears to be protecting Haitian nationals from facing any real consequences for reckless driving.

Tulsi Gabbard Tells Glenn Beck She’s Suing Biden Admin for Placing Her on Terror Watch List

Former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard said she is filing a lawsuit over being placed on a terror watch list after she criticized Vice President Kamala Harris (D) as being unfit to serve as president.

Gabbard revealed her litigious intent to Blaze Media co-founder Glenn Beck on his show Wednesday.

“The Federal Marshal’s whistleblowers came forward and exposed the truth and provided evidence about how one day after I criticized Kamala Harris on a televised national interview, talking about how dangerous the consequences would be if she were to serve as president and commander in chief, the very next day, I was placed on a domestic terror watch list called ‘Quiet Skies,'” she said. . .

“Given no reason why I was put on the list, there’s no due process to say, ‘Hey show me what you got and take me off the list.’ As far as I know, the last time that I asked, I heard that the targeting package that the TSA built against me is still operational,” she continued.

“I hope that Congress takes this up,” she added. “I’m not the only one who’s being impacted by this. There are many Americans whose names will never make headlines who have also been wrongly targeted by this administration specifically because of their political views and their exercise of their right to free speech.”

‘Fundamentally Barbaric’: Vance Slams Walz for Minnesota Law on Babies Who Survive Abortions

Vice presidential nominee JD Vance slammed his opponent Tim Walz on Tuesday night over Minnesota laws that no longer protects babies who survive abortions.

Vance pointed out that Walz, as governor of Minnesota, repealed a bipartisan measure that formerly required doctors to report whether abortions resulted in the live birth of a baby, what actions were taken to preserve the life of that baby, and whether the baby survived.

Walz’s action also stripped the state’s requirement that measures be taken to preserve the baby’s “life and health,” replacing it merely with a requirement for “care.”

“That is fundamentally barbaric,” Vance told Walz.

Walz denied the allegation.

In response to questions from Nora O’Donnell and Margaret Brennan, CBS moderators who both have expressed their opposition to President Trump, talked about Joe Biden deploying troops to the Middle East.

And he talked about state-sponsored terrorism.

And he talked about “fundamental steady” leadership.

And he talked about President Trump, “nearly 80-year-old” in the presidential debate against Harris earlier.

JD Vance’s Mic Cut As He Tries To Counter Moderator’s Fact Check On Springfield Migrants

Republican Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance’s microphone was cut by CBS moderators Tuesday night during the first vice presidential debate as he attempted to fact-check claims about Haitian migrants being sent to Springfield, Ohio.

During the debate, CBS moderator Margaret Brennan questioned the candidates on illegal immigration, and Vance expressed concern about migrants’ impact on Americans, citing the up to 20,000 Haitian migrants that have flooded into Springfield, Ohio, over the past three years. After Walz rebutted, Brennan tried to move on, adding that the Haitian migrants had “legal status,” leading Vance to interrupt by challenging the network’s fact-checking rule, noting the migrants entered the country via asylum applications.

“Just to clarify for our viewers, Springfield, Ohio, does have a large number of Haitian migrants who have legal status, temporary protected status,” Brennan said.

“But Margaret … I think it‘s important to turn now to the economy. The rules were that you guys weren‘t going to fact-check, and since you‘re fact-checking me, I think it‘s important to say what‘s actually going on,” Vance responded. “So there‘s an application called the CBP One app — where you can go on as an illegal migrant, apply for asylum or apply for parole and be granted legal status at the wave of a Kamala Harris open border wand. That is not a person coming in applying for a green card and waiting for 10 years — ”

Brennan jumped in to “thank” Vance for his response and attempted to move on, but Vance could be heard trying to finish, criticizing Harris for her role in the illegal immigration crisis.

The Border Patrol Union slammed Vice President Kamala Harris after she made a campaign stop Friday at the southern border for the first time as the Democratic presidential nominee.

Harris traveled to Douglas, Arizona, including a stop along the border wall, which she previously called a “gross misuse of taxpayer mmoney which she would “block any funding for” when former President Donald Trump was in office. The vice president delivered remarks blaming Trump for the failed Senate bill proposing $48 billion to aid Ukraine in its war against Russia and nearly $16 billion to aid Israel in its conflict with Hamas in exchange for border security reforms

The Border Patrol Union blasted Harris for ignoring the migrant crisis “she created for over three years” just to give a 20-minute speech and photo-op on the campaign trail.

“Vice President Harris has ignored the border problem she created for over three years. She goes down there for 20 minutes for a photo op and decides to repeat some of the things the NPBC has said before. But again, where has she been the last 3 ½ years?” the Border Patrol Union wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).
