Obama: Rich People Aren’t Evil, They Just Have Too Much Money [+videos]

Barack Obama, David CameronIn remarks that drew critical broadsides from conservative radio champion Mark Levin and others on the right, Obama, in addition to attacking Fox News, said rich people aren’t “evil” per se they just have too much money.

“I’m not saying this because I dislike hedge fund managers or think they are evil,” Obama said “You pretty much have more than you’ll ever use and your family will ever use.”

Showing that he doesn’t understand most rich people work hard for their money, the president compared them to gamblers hitting a jackpot. . .

“Part of what happened in our politics and part of what has shifted — elites in a very mobile globalized world are able to live together away from folks who are not as wealthy,” he said. “What used to be racial segregation mirrors itself in class segregation.”

“We’re not, we’re not trying to push financial reform because we begrudge success that’s fairly earned. I mean, I do think at a certain point you’ve made enough money,” he said at the time. (Read more from “Obama: Rich People Aren’t Evil, They Just Have Too Much Money” HERE)

Iris Scanners, Widely Used by US Military, Could Be Coming to a Police Department Near You [+video]

military-iris-scannerIris scans could become part of a routine traffic stop, thanks to technology being developed by researchers at Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Mellon University that can grab an image from a distance of 40 feet. The technology would allow police to take an image the second a driver glances into the rear-view mirror.

“It’s no different than a camera taking a picture of you,” said Marios Savvides, a research professor at CMU’s computer engineering department and the director of the CyLab Biometrics Center. “You could be anywhere within a 6- to 12-meter radius and it will find you and zoom in and capture your iris.”

The technology would be a major development for iris biometric scanners, which have been hampered for years by accuracy at long distances. But adoption also would create legal questions by relying on technology that’s similar to the local license plate databases that have been in use in Virginia, California and other municipalities.

“It could be used surreptitiously,” said Jennifer Lynch, an attorney at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, which is monitoring the development of the technology. “That could lead to the ability of law enforcement officers to collect a person’s biometric information without their knowledge.”

The U.S. military has been using iris scan technology for more than a decade in the Middle East, in part to help determine who is authorized to enter military facilities in Iraq and Afghanistan. U.S. soldiers in combat zones often take a snapshot of an individual 6 inches from their face, at which point the data is uploaded to a wide-ranging database that includes everything from scar information and mug shot images to height and eye color data. Police Make Arrest Related to Synthetic Stimulant Flakka: ‘I Am God, I Am Satan’ [+video]

bath-saltsA 17-year-old female was arrested at 2:30 in the morning Saturday after police said she jumped through the window of a home on the 1600 block of Sycamore Street in Melbourne, according to her arrest report.

The residents of the home say they were terrified after following the incident. The arrest report states that the girl, covered in broken glass and blood, slapped one of the residents of the home, and then ran outside. When police arrived, the report says she charged the officer while screaming, “I am God, I am Satan!” The officer wrote that he backed up at first, but then Tasered her and took her into custody.

Melbourne Police say this behavior is indicative of someone high on “flakka,” a relatively new synthetic designer drug that burst onto the scene in 2012 in South Florida . . .

Two weeks ago, Melbourne officers say they took down a suspected flakka drug dealer by the name of Tyler Reynolds Junior on Grant Street after he blew through a stop sign at Race and Horn streets. They say inside the 20-year-old’s vehicle they found 62 grams of flakka . . .

Last month, Melbourne police arrested 41-year-old Kenneth Crowder for running naked down a Melbourne street and then humping a tree, all while screaming that he was God. When Melbourne cops Tasered him, he allegedly pulled the leads out of his skin and attacked officers. He was eventually arrested and taken to jail. Watch: Famous American Muslim Claims Pam Geller Is ‘Worse Than ISIS’ During Interview

This weekend, video from a news program out of Michigan surfaced featuring a prominent Muslim American businessman and publisher making outrageous claims about Pamela Geller, her “Draw Muhammad” event in Texas, and ISIS. Watch the clip first. You won’t believe your ears. Then, when you read up on the context … you won’t believe your eyes.

Did you catch that? Plain as day, that man just said:

“She is a hatemonger. She is drawing incitement and violence.” … “Let me talk a little bit about ISIS. ISIS is a hate group exactly like Pamela Geller. She is drawing killers, she makes killers, she is inviting killers to come in.” … “She is worse than ISIS. She is worse than ISIS.”

Worse. Than. ISIS. Unbelievable. Although he did get one thing right. He said “she is drawing killers.” That’s true. They were definitely drawing that.

Now, this guy isn’t some lone-wolf extremist. That was Osama Siblani, publisher of “Arab American News,” the largest and most widely circulated Arab American publication in the United States. He’s been editing/publishing the publication out of Dearborn Michigan since 1984. Dearborn boasts the highest concentration of Arab Muslims in the United States… and Osama Siblani is the editor of arguably their most emblematic publication in the country.

My show is based out of Detroit/Ann Arbor, and I’m quite familiar with Dearborn. One of my favorite restaurants ever was caught funneling money to Hezbollah. We were literally discussing it and laughing about it on the air this week. “Yep, those terrorists sure make good food though,” is an exact quote. This is par for the course for Dearborn, and everyone in eastern Michigan knows it.

Allow me to re-iterate: This man, is not a lone-wolf, he has acted as a widely accepted ambassador for Arab-American Muslims since 1984. He not only blamed Pamela Gellar for the terror attempt in Garland, but he flat-out said that she, as an American exercising her free speech… was worse than ISIS. Worse than ISIS.

Muslim Americans, we await your grand protest, and your demanding of his immediate resignation.

… Any minute now. (See “Famous American Muslim Claims Pam Geller Is ‘Worse Than ISIS’ on Air”, originally posted HERE)

Feds Forcing Schools to Add ‘Gender Identity’ Protections for Transgender Students and Teachers [+video]

7460Parents are outraged after the school board in Fairfax County, Virginia, voted to change its non-discrimination policy in county schools to include “gender identity.”

Under the new plan, a student who is male but identifies as female can use the girls’ bathroom and locker room, and vice versa. The policy also blocks parents from removing children from a classroom taught by a transgender teacher.

The only board member to vote against the policy, Elizabeth Schultz, joined Tucker Carlson on “Fox and Friends Weekend” to speak out about why she opposed the change.

“The question really comes down to whose agenda is this and what have we done about government overreach into local school boards across the United States of America,” Schultz said. “This apparently is being compelled upon us by the Office of Civil Rights through the U.S. Department of Education under the U.S. Department of Justice.”

She said that the notion that the government can reach into the 14,000 school districts across America and tell 90,000 school board members that they must comply or risk losing federal education money is “preposterous.” (Read more from “School Board Adds ‘Gender Identity’ Protections for Transgender Students” HERE)

Watch: Blind Pregnant Woman Gets To “See” Her Unborn Son and Her Response Is Priceless

In Brazil, a blind woman was able to “see” her unborn son thanks to 3D printing technology. 30-year-old Tatiana Guerra is 20-weeks pregnant and never thought she would get the chance to see her son’s facial features. However, through touch, Guerra was able to feel her unborn babies face.

According to the Daily Mail, in a video created as part of a campaign for the diaper brand Huggies, Guerra asks her doctor if her son looks like her. The doctor responds: “If you could touch him, would that let you know what he’s like?” She said yes and then the doctor handed her a 3D-printed image wrapped in a white cloth and says: ‘That’s your son’.

Social Security is in Worse Shape Than You Thought [+video]

cThe Social Security Administration projects that its trust funds will be depleted by 2033—not an optimistic forecast. But it may be even bleaker than that.

New studies from Harvard and Dartmouth researchers find that the SSA’s actuarial forecasts have been consistently overstating the financial health of the program’s trust funds since 2000.

“These biases are getting bigger and they are substantial,” said Gary King, co-author of the studies and director of Harvard’s Institute for Quantitative Social Science. “[Social Security] is going to be insolvent before everyone thinks.”

The Social Security and Medicare Trustees’ 2014 report to Congress last year found trust fund reserves for both its combined retirement and disability programs will grow until 2019. Program costs are projected to exceed income in 2020 and the trust funds will be depleted by 2033 if Congress doesn’t act. Once the trust funds are drained, annual revenues from payroll tax would be projected to cover only three-quarters of scheduled Social Security benefits through 2088.

Researchers examined forecasts published in the annual trustees’ reports from 1978, when the reports began to consistently disclose projected financial indicators, until 2013. Then, they compared the forecasts the agency made on such variables as mortality and labor force participation rates to the actual observed data. Forecasts from trustees reports from 1978 to 2000 were roughly unbiased, researchers found. In that time, the administration made overestimates and underestimates, but the forecast errors appeared to be random in their direction. Obamacare Program May Be Linked to “Epidemic” Opioid Addiction [+video]

download (9)Experts say too many patients are being prescribed opioid painkillers by emergency room doctors, and a program created by Obamacare could be enabling the problem.

A new study released this week found 17 percent of nearly 20,000 patients were discharged from emergency rooms with an opioid prescription. Experts and lawmakers say a push under Obamacare for hospitals to get good patient satisfaction scores is one cause of the problem.

America is in the midst of an opioid “epidemic,” according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Painkillers killed more than 16,000 people in 2013. A huge part of the problem is the prescribing of painkillers, which quadrupled from 1999 to 2013.

Emergency room prescriptions are part of this trend, but data are lacking on the reasons opioids are given out, according to the study published in the Annals of Emergency Medicine.

Patients with back pain got the most opioids, followed by those with abdominal pain. “The majority of prescriptions had small pill counts and almost exclusively immediate-release formulations,” according to the study. By Paul Bedard. America’s Hispanic population is projected to soar in the coming two decades to 85,543,000, faster than some have expected, according to a new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report on Latinos.

CDC on Tuesday said the Hispanic population will total 22.8 percent of the U.S. population by 2035.

Others like the Brookings Institution predicted the Hispanic population would be a slightly higher 25.1 percent of the U.S. population but a whole decade later, in 2044. It is currently 17.7 percent of the U.S. population, at 56,754,000, said CDC.

The report studied the health and causes of death of the American Hispanic population and found that despite more living in poverty than whites, Hispanics live an average of two years longer than whites. Spanish-Language Spelling Bees Taking off in the U.S.

By Soni Sangha. How do you spell success? At the mini-national spelling bee in Foxboro, Massachusetts, students spelled it en Español.

A growing number of schools, like the Foxborough Regional Charter School, are holding Spanish spelling bees, where students compete in much the same way as a traditional bee but they spell Spanish words (which can be translated for them into English if they need clarification) using the alphabet in Spanish, denoting a y as “y griega” or a v as “b corta,” for example.

“I believe you will be seeing more of these,” said David Briseño, executive director of the New Mexico Association for Bilingual Educators.

The association launched New Mexico’s state Spanish spelling bee in 1994. The spelling bee became so popular that the association began including other states into its fold. About eight states are participating in the regional contest and more are expected to be added. (Read more from this story HERE)
