It was nearly two weeks ago when an elderly man was beaten to the ground outside a Dallas restaurant. Now police in the city are investigating a similar incident.
The attack happened along Central Expressway near Knox-Henderson.
The manager of a Denny’s restaurant says he found 74-year-old Charles Pace lying face down, motionless and bleeding in the parking lot. It was two o’clock Friday morning.
The woman said it was only when police arrived that Pace started to move, but he seemed confused.
The manager thought the elderly man might have had too much to drink and fell down. Investigators say Pace told them he was headed to the restaurant when he was struck on the back of the head in an unprovoked attack by three men.

The essence of irresponsibility is seeing a harm, seeing the facts and refusing to act. What else do we know? We know that Obamacare is killing jobs all across the country. Indeed, Obamacare is the biggest job killer in this nation.
The U.S. Chamber of commerce has said of small businesses impacted by the employer mandate, one half of small businesses say they will either cut hours to reduce full-time employees or replace full-time employees with part-time workers to avoid the mandate.

“I shouldn’t say this, but I’ll tell it to you, Howard,” he said on the Howard Stern Show.
“I’m going to make a movie with Meryl Streep, and we’re going to take this head-on. And they’re going to wish they weren’t alive after I’m done with them.”
He went on to say that he doesn’t believe “we need guns in this country,” and hopes that after people see the planned feature film they will never again want to invest in gun stocks.

The $1,316,700,000,000 in U.S. Treasury securities that entities in mainland China owned as of the end of November set a record for China, but it was still $846,966,000,000 less than the $2,163,666,000,000 in U.S. Treasury securities the Federal Reserve owned as of Nov. 27, according the Fed’s weekly balance sheets.
As of January 9, the latest day on the Fed’s last weekly accounting sheet, the Fed had increased its holdings of U.S. Treasury securities to $2,212,924,000,000.
The Fed also owns $1,490,167,000,000 in mortgage-backed securities guaranteed by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae.
At the end of January 2009, the month President Barack Obama was first inaugurated, mainland China owned $744.2 billion in U.S. government debt and the Fed owned $475.129 billion.

Like many conservative middle-class families, our inclination was to resist anything to do with Red China. In that black and white world, you were either for us or against us. Trade with China was thought to be trade with the enemy. A funny thing happened, though, along the way. Many conservatives came to understand a larger truth. As trade began to blossom with China, many conservatives, myself included, came to admit that trade improves our economic well-being AND makes us less likely to fight. The success of trade with China made many conservatives rethink their view of the world.
People sometimes ask me what my worldview is. My response is that even if you’ve crisscrossed the globe, I’m not sure that the world doesn’t change by the time you return to the same spot twice. I really am a believer that foreign policy must be viewed by events as they present themselves, not as we wish them to be.
A few years ago, I read a review of John Gaddis’ biography of George Kennan. I laughed when I read that Dr. Gaddis promised Kennan not to publish it until after his death. And that twenty years later Gaddis’ students were jokingly wondering who might die first. I loved the book. To me, containment is not a dead letter. I look at the worldwide menace of radical jihad and I think we need a long-term vigilance like containment.

South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy slammed the State Department Friday night over its slow response in finally naming the suspected terrorist groups responsible for the attack in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012.
“I think tomorrow [the State Dept.] is going to announce that we put a man on the moon, that the Berlin Wall fell and that we discovered this neat little drug called penicillin,” Gowdy told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren. “That’s about how far behind the intelligence our State Department is.”
The “shocking part,” Gowdy said, was that one day after the terrorist attack, members of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s inner circle – including Clinton’s Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills and Under Secretary of ManagementPatrick Kennedy – “admitted” that it was Ansar al-Sharia who was responsible.

President Obama has problems with credibility, as the world well knows after he disingenuously insisted, “If you like your health-care plan, you can keep your health-care plan” about two dozen times in public.
Now, it turns out, the Democrat most political observers believe will try to replace Obama as president apparently also has problems telling the truth.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton lied to the American people about Benghazi, a congressman who recently returned from a fact-finding trip to Libya told WND.
He said she also lied to Congress.

CNN has learned that federal officials are investigating whether Christie improperly used some of that money to produce tourism ads that starred him and his family.
The news couldn’t come at a worse time for the embattled Republican, who is facing two probes in New Jersey of whether his staff orchestrated traffic gridlock near the country’s busiest bridge to punish a Democratic mayor who refused to endorse his re-election.
If the Sandy inquiry by a watchdog finds any wrongdoing, it could prove even more damaging to Christie’s national ambitions. He’s considered a possible presidential candidate in 2016.

Forget the fact that the Obamacare Spanish-language website apparently was written in “Spanglish,” or that the Oregon state site is, ahem, not quite operational.
And you can overlook the issue that the IRS, revealed to have been targeting conservative organizations, has proposed rules to make that the regular practice. And Fast & Furious, and Benghazi, and NSA spying, and Solyndra, and on, and on.
What appears to be important is that a Republican is involved in a scandal. No. Two scandals!
The Media Research Center reported late last week just after the news broke that aides to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a presumptive front-runner for the 2016 GOP nomination for president, apparently were involved in a traffic scandal, there had been 17 times more coverage on that issue than in the last half year over the IRS misbehavior.
The organization reported that the story broke Wednesday and accused the governor’s aides of punishing a mayor with a huge traffic jam after he refused to endorse Christie.

In discussions throughout the Capitol, Mitchell has expressed her concern new rules proposed by the IRS demonstrate once again the Obama administration is determined to keep tea-party groups from having the type of impact on the mid-term elections this November that they had in 2010, when Republicans grabbed majority control of the House of Representatives.
“This is a real assault on the First Amendment rights of American citizens, and we need to do everything we can to stop the IRS from implementing these new rules,” Mitchell says.
Mitchell has produced in a YouTube video a briefing in which she explains the goal of the IRS is to limit the free speech of conservative groups:
She is urging conservatives groups and individuals to file comments with the IRS right away, arguing it is “impractical, burdensome and unacceptable for the IRS to interject itself into the workings of every citizens group in the country.”
