Of the dozens of lawsuits against Obamacare’s requirement that employers pay for abortifacients, probably no other exemplifies the Obama administration’s dedication to abortion at the expense of religious beliefs than the case against the Little Sisters of the Poor.

The order of nuns, founded in the early 1800s, is dedicated to helping the poorest of the seniors and to acting in Christ’s stead whenever they can.

Members are not making public statements on their legal case pending before the U.S. Supreme Court – they leave that to their attorneys. But they have prepared a video that communicates their priorities: Christ and their patients.

Sister Mary Bernard explains: “We’re here to live for Him, and for Him and the elderly. That’s our life.”

The nun said that when “people you care for look up at you, they want to see Christ’s face. ”

Dennis Rodman North Korea Interview Meltdown: Rodman Screams At CNN Anchor About Kenneth Bae And Kim Jong Un

By Mike Smollins.

Dennis Rodman visited North Korea to play basketball for supreme leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Kim Jong Un’s birthday and made an appearance via satellite on a CNN program, where he ended up screaming and ranting at the anchor.

According to Deadspin.com, during the interview, CNN anchor Chris Cuomo asked Rodman–who has a well-documented close relationship with Kim–about Kenneth Bae, who is an American that is imprisoned in North Korea on vague charges, and Rodman flipped out. Cuomo asked if Rodman would use his close relationship with Kim to push a request for Bae’s release.

Rodman then exploded.

“The one thing about politics, Kenneth Bae did one thing. If you understand – if you understand what Kenneth Bae did,” Rodman said in the video on CNN. “Do you understand what he did? In this country?”

Family of American held in North Korea angry at Dennis Rodman

By Laura Smith-Spark and Tom Watkins.

Dennis Rodman defended his visit to North Korea with a team of fellow former NBA players in a combative exchange Tuesday, saying the trip was a “great idea for the world.”

In an exclusive interview with Chris Cuomo of CNN’s “New Day,” Rodman reacted angrily when pressed on whether the group should have traveled there, given recent events in the secretive country.

The trip takes place weeks after North Korea announced the purge and execution of Kim’s once-powerful uncle.

The other former NBA players are due to play Wednesday in a basketball game on the 31st birthday of Kim Jong Un, the country’s leader.

“I love my friend,” Rodman said in a reference to Kim during an interview carried out from Pyongyang. “This is my friend.”

Another high school student at Farragut High School in Knox County, Tenn. is receiving widespread attention for an eloquent speech he made against Common Core at a school board meeting.

This time the student, Kenneth Ye, gave a rousing speech before the Knox County school board urging it to drop the Common Core standards because they make learning joyless and, in fact, turn American schools into something approaching Chinese sweatshops.

“Our schools are being turned into data-run factories,” Ye charges around the 4:30 mark in the video, “factories based on speedily-approved standards that are now being implemented around the country.”

Ye observies that he has been a student of both the American and Chinese education systems.

Democrats have pointed to Kentucky’s state health exchange as an Obamacare success story, but Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky said on “This Week” that the system is “a mess,” describing how his son was incorrectly enrolled in Medicaid, and saying he’s unsure if his own family is currently covered.

“The other day I actually tried to get my son signed up through the Kentucky exchange, you know that the Democrats have said is so good. And I have here my son’s Medicaid card,” Paul told George Stephanopoulos Sunday, waving the card. “We didn’t try to get him Medicaid, I’m trying to pay for his insurance. But they automatically enrolled him in Medicaid.”

Former American basketball star Dennis Rodman, who arrived in Pyongyang Monday on his fourth visit to the reclusive Stalinist state, said North Korea was “not bad,” and that Kim Jong-un “is actually trying to change this country in a great way.”

Rodman, who has met with Kim – purportedly a basketball fan – on two of his previous three visits, is leading a team of former NBA players who will play an exhibition game on Wednesday, Kim’s 31st birthday.

Speaking to reporters after flying in from Beijing, Rodman said the team members wanted to come to North Korea to help “open the doors.”

“Most people that come here they say, hey North Korea. It’s not – it’s not bad, you know. The marshal [Kim Jong-un] is actually trying to change this country in a great way.”

Mitt Romney Says That if it Were His Choice, Russia Would Not Be Hosting the Olympics (+video)

Former Gov. Mitt Romney said today “were it my choice,” Russia would never have been awarded next month’s Winter Olympics — let alone any future Summer Olympics — because of the political message it sends.

“But it’s not my choice. They are a player on the global stage. They have a right to make their bid. But, they do strain the view of people like myself as to their leadership and their characterization of the Olympic spirt,” Romney told FOX News Sunday host Chris Wallace.

Russia got the green light to host the games from the International Olympic Committee in 2007. Romney indicated his concerns are more the political message that was sent rather than the logistical success of the games, though he also questioned the cost.

Pointing out that the 2014 Winter Olympics’ $51 billion pricetag is more money than was spent on all previous winter games combined, and that Putin signed a law last summer empowering police to arrest anyone who shows tolerance toward gays, Wallace asked Romney, “At some point, does the country hosting the Olympics … does that country’s values undercut what the Olympics are supposed to be all about?”

Kerry: We’ll Help Iraq Fight al-Qaeda, But No ‘Boots on The Ground’ (+video)

Secretary of State John Kerry said Sunday the U.S. will help Iraqi authorities fight al-Qaeda terrorists who have seized parts of two cities in western Iraq, but will not send troops.

“We are not, obviously, contemplating returning,” he told reporters in Jerusalem. “We’re not contemplating putting boots on the ground. This is their fight, but we’re going to help them in their fight.”

Kerry declined to say specifically how the U.S. would help the Iraqis.

“We’re going to do everything that is possible to help them, and I will not go into the details except to say that we’re in contact with tribal leaders from Anbar province whom we know, who are showing great courage in standing up against this as they reject terrorist groups from their cities,” he said.

“And this is a fight that belongs to the Iraqis. That is exactly what the president and the world decided some time ago when we left Iraq.”

Two Giant Retailers Offer Free Prescription Drugs for ObamaCare Enrollees

In what you can interpret as either an act of corporate altruism, corporate lobbying, or a mix of both, two giant retailers — Walmart and Walgreens — have agreed to save the Obama Administration from who knows how many horror-story anecdotes by agreeing to fill 30 days of free prescriptions for ObamaCare enrollees. The question is, though, what happens to the data and patient information these retailers collect?

When you have two of the biggest retailers in the country collecting untold amounts of personal health information from who knows how many people seeking free prescriptions, in the wake of revelations surrounding domestic NSA and Justice Department spying (on reporters!), it is not unreasonable to worry about this. We also know that a number of large corporations have apparently cooperated with the federal government’s data grabs.

Mayor Bill de Blasio sure knows how to make reporters pay attention to his winter snowstorm briefings.

At the very end of a detailed press update this morning at a sanitation garage in Queens, the newly-minted mayor was asked how many layers he was wearing by CBS radio reporter Rich Lamb.

Dressed in a mayor’s office wind breaker, button-down shirt and dad jeans, Mr. de Blasio jokingly pretended to strip, dramatically unzipping his jacket to show off his shirt.

“Do you want me to go farther, Rich?” he offered suggestively with a smile. “I have an undershirt also.”
