Canadian News Anchor: ‘Gun Registration Will Lead To Confiscation’ (+video)

Photo Credit: Sun News NetworkLiving in Canada, Sun News Network anchor Brian Lilley has already seen where seemingly innocent gun control measures can lead. During a news broadcast this week, Lilley warned Americans that gun registration led to gun confiscation in Canada, and the same thing will happen in the U.S. if citizens don’t defend their Second Amendment rights.

Lilley also told the story of Ian Thompson, who was charged for defending himself with a firearm against four men firebombing his home in Canada.

“We are at a state in Canada where they don’t want you using firearms for anything. Ever,” Lilley said. “That’s the push. And as we look at what’s happening in the United States, that’s what’s happening.”

He went on: “So I’ve got a warning to my American friends: Registration will lead to confiscation. And if you don’t believe me, just look at what’s happened here.”

Video: Biden – We’re Counting On ‘Legitimate Media’ For Successful Gun Control Effort

photo credit: richiecDuring a press conference on gun safety in Philadelphia, Vice President Joe Biden said that any reports that suggest that he was trying to take weapons away from gun owners was a “bunch of malarkey.”

“I know that’s a word that you’ve never heard before, although it’s now in the dictionary,” Biden boasted.

Biden said that it was important for the media to dissuade the American public from the idea that the Obama administration was prepared to do something unconstitutional on guns.

“To be very blunt with you, we’re counting on all of you, the legitimate news media to cover these discussions because the truth is that times have changed,” Biden added, warning that people would continue to “misrepresent” the White House’s plans for gun control.

Video: CNN Anchor Questions Whether Global Warming To Blame For Asteroid

Photo credit: NASAThe threat of global warming may stretch so far beyond Earth that it affects meteorites millions of miles away in space — at least according to one CNN anchor.

“Talk about something else that’s falling from the sky and that is an asteroid. What’s coming our way? Is this an effect of, perhaps, of global warming, or is this just some meteoric occasion?” CNN’s Deborah Feyerick asked Bill “The Science Guy” Nye, head of the Planetary Society, in a Saturday segment.

Feyerick, who had earlier quizzed Nye about the possible link between global warming and the weekend snowstorm, was referring to Asteroid 2012 DA14, which will whiz within 17,000 miles or so of Earth on Feb 15. The asteroid’s relatively close trajectory on its latest pass of Earth has been extensively covered in recent weeks.

“No, no, no, no,” Nye replied to the spaced-out question, before gracefully extending Feyerick a lifeline by saying “except it’s all science. The word meteorology and the word meteor come from the same root, so, uhh…”
Several of Nye’s fellow scientists were less diplomatic.

“Nye was good enough to respond with what sounded like a non-sequitur … instead of saying, ‘No, dummy,’” noted Popular Science’s website.

Video: Senator Graham Exposes Military Leaders On Benghazi Response

South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham grilled Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, and Joint Chiefs General Dempsey on the President’s involvement, or lack thereof.

Apparently, Senior Military Leaders only spoke with the President one time for a period of about 30 minutes. According to this Senate testimony, the President never made further inquiry about the status of the Consulate, or State Department personnel, until after the fact.

Graham also exposed the fact that there was no military response whatsoever during the 7-8 hour siege of the Consulate in Benghazi.

This is an extremely important piece of the Benghazi puzzle, and the senator should be applauded for bringing this information out.

Video: Ann Coulter Says Mainstream Media ‘A Threat to Democracy’

Photo Credit: Daily CallerOn Thursday night’s“The Kudlow Report” on CNBC, conservative commentator Ann Coulter called the media a “threat to democracy” and ripped what she claimed is the blatant hypocrisy of most mainstream outlets.

Host Larry Kudlow focused on the conversation on the Thursday hearing at the Senate Committee on Armed Services, where senators peppered top military officials with questions about the deadly Sept. 11, 2012 attack on the U.S. Embassy in Libya.

“I mean, you really wonder if Democrats would win any elections if we had an honest media in this country,” Coulter said. “As Pat Caddell says, the media is becoming a threat to democracy. The things that they went crazy over when Bush was president — I mean, remember that video at the White House Correspondents’ [Association] dinner? …. He had a little video — I don’t know, like the dog looking for weapons of mass destruction under the White House furniture. … You would think someone died.

“Well, here in this case under Obama, four people did die,” Coulter said, referring to the embassy attack, “and this is coming out five months after it happened, four months after the election? What is with our media?”

Video: Eric Holder – ‘Obama Decides Who’s ‘Entitled’ To Second Amendment Rights’

Attorney General Eric Holder discusses gun violence at Clark Atlanta University in Georgia.

Consonant with Holder’s past statement’s regarding the second amendment, the Attorney General states clearly that gun rights can be qualified and restricted.

But it appears the AG is going further, intimating that he believes the second amendment is an entitlement that the President can extend to some and withhold from others.

While no new explicit groundbreaking statements were made, the language the AG chose to use is instructive of to his attitude and approach to the issue.

Video: Joe Biden Caught on Camera Admitting Gun Control Will Not Stop Mass Shootings

After pontificating about the government’s ‘moral obligation’ to push for more gun control, the Vice President has now been caught on camera saying that the new measures being pushed by the White House won’t diminish the possibility of more mass shootings.

Wow – a stunning reversal. It makes one wonder whether this was even a good faith effort on the part of the Administration in the first place.

Never mind the fact that the Democrats rolled out their pre-packaged bills as soon as they had a pretext. This latest gaffe by Joe Biden is rather morally problematic, if I may follow the Vice President’s lead in the invocation of categorical imperatives.

General Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said the State Department never requested “support” in Benghazi:

“Why didn’t you put forces in place to be ready to respond?,” Senator John McCain asked the general.

Dempsey started, “Because we never received a request to do so, number one. And number two, we –“

McCain iterrupted, “You never heard of Ambassador Stevens’s repeated warnings?”

Video: Panetta Reveals Obama Absent on Night of Benghazi

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta testified this morning on Capitol Hill that President Barack Obama was absent the night four Americans were murdered in Benghazi on September 11, 2012:
