Harry Reid also said the American public was behind him.

ABC’s This Week reported: “Asserting that “the American people” are on his side, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., told me during an exclusive interview for “This Week” that any that deal reached between Republicans and Democrats to avoid the looming sequester must — “without any question” – include revenue.”

Video: NRA President Says Anti-Gun Advocates Threatened to Kill Son, Daughter

Photo Credit: Gage SkidmoreIn an interview with Ginni Thomas of The Daily Caller, NRA President David Keene called out President Obama and his allies for their hypocrisy relating to civil discourse.

Civility is clearly a one-way street. Conservatives are expected to act in concert with the cannons of common decency, but liberal are constrained by no such law.

Keene went on to tell how an advocate of gun control had threatened the life of his son and daughter upon finding out who their father was.

Video: Chuck in the Muck – Hagel Skewered By Senator Cruz for Calling US “World’s Bully” on Al Jazeera Network

Former Sen. Chuck Hagel on Thursday faced a barrage of criticism about his fitness to be the next defense secretary, including his agreement with a controversial statement that the United States is the “world’s bully.”

President Barack Obama’s nominee to be defense secretary ran into sharp opposition from Republicans on the Senate Armed Services Committee who questioned Hagel on an array of controversial policies.

Senators questioned Hagel about his opposition to tough U.S. policies toward Iran, his calling the successful U.S. military surge in Iraq a “blunder,” and his support for sharp unilateral cuts in U.S. nuclear forces.

Hagel also backtracked on past statements that a “Jewish lobby” was intimidating the Senate into adopting “dumb” policies.

Hagel maintained a calm demeanor but at several points in the hearing appeared unprepared for some questions during seven hours of testimony.

Video: Rick Santelli Says ‘We’ve Become Europe’

Rick Santelli made a stunning observation Wednesday about the shocking report that the economy actually shrunk in the fourth quarter last year.

“We are now Europe,” he declared on CNBC’s Squawk Box.

“Hey Joe,” Santelli said, “when you act like Europe, you get growth rates like Europe, and our discussions with economists sounds like we’re in Europe. They have the same discussions constantly.”

Video: Walter Williams On the Morality of the Free Market

Economist Walter Williams dispels the myth of the zero-sum game, and in so doing presents a simple and straightforward exposition of free market economics.

Far from being a system based upon greed and selfishness as some claim, Williams ably demonstrates how free exchange is a way of service and mutual benefit to all, and as such is invested with a moral quality.

And it is upon such a view of reality that free market economics reposes.

Video: Senator McCain Boasts Gang of Eight Resurrecting Ted Kennedy’s Amnesty Plan

President Obama, just days into his second term, is pressing ahead on the explosive issue of immigration reform — boosted Monday by a bipartisan group of senators drafting a proposal of their own while running into early criticism that the blueprint amounts to “amnesty.”

The president is traveling Tuesday to Las Vegas, where he will outline his immigration reform goals, said to be similar to those he championed during the campaign. The issue was put on the back burner during his first term — overtaken by debate over health care legislation and economic measures. But along with gun control, it one of the top items on his second-term domestic agenda.

Eight U.S. senators got ahead of him Monday, unveiling a blueprint that calls for, among other things, a path to citizenship for the 11 million illegal immigrants already in the United States. Read more from this story HERE.

Video: CBS Runs Segment Called ‘Let’s Give Up On The Constitution’

From Georgetown law professor Louis Michael Seidman:

I’ve got a simple idea: Let’s give up on the Constitution. I know, it sounds radical, but it’s really not. Constitutional disobedience is as American as apple pie. For example, most of our greatest Presidents — Jefferson, Lincoln, Wilson, and both Roosevelts — had doubts about the Constitution, and many of them disobeyed it when it got in their way.

To be clear, I don’t think we should give up on everything in the Constitution. The Constitution has many important and inspiring provisions, but we should obey these because they are important and inspiring, not because a bunch of people who are now long-dead favored them two centuries ago. Unfortunately, the Constitution also contains some provisions that are not so inspiring. For example, one allows a presidential candidate who is rejected by a majority of the American people to assume office. Suppose that Barack Obama really wasn’t a natural-born citizen. So what? Constitutional obedience has a pernicious impact on our political culture. Take the recent debate about gun control. None of my friends can believe it, but I happen to be skeptical of most forms of gun control. I understand, though, that’s not everyone’s view, and I’m eager to talk with people who disagree.

Video: Warning to Politicians – People Will Fight for Guns

“Come and Take It,” the song that has rallied gun owners with its remember-the-Alamo-like message, now has an accompanying music video with a special message for Barack Obama and members of Congress.

As WND reported, Grammy-winning musician Steve Vaus, creator of the Buck Howdy character, recorded the song that defies those advocating gun confiscation with one of the slogans of the Texas Revolution, “Come and take it.”

Though the song itself is more vague, the video leaves no doubt who Vaus is talking to in the lyrics.

“Mr. President, members of Congress,” Vaus says in the opening to the video, “you’ve been making a lot of noise about taking our guns away. But you might want to review history.

“1835. Gonzales, Texas Territory,” Vaus continues. “The authorities wanted to confiscate the big gun that protected that colony. You know what the people said? ‘Come and take it.’ Because they were willing to fight for their freedom and their guns. So are we.”

Video: Sixty-Five Year Old Woman With Pistol Routs Five Armed Robbers

A 65-year-old woman fired two rounds from a handgun at five masked men after they attempted to rob her jewelry store in Garden Grove, Calif. on Sunday. Her shots sent the men fleeing in such a panic that they literally tripped over each other trying to exit the store, KTLA reports.

The woman then went running after them down the street, still gripping her pistol. And all of it was caught on surveillance camera.

In fact, the would-be robbers were in such a frenzy from her gunfire that their white getaway SUV actually left three of the suspects behind. They were later picked up roughly a block and a half away.

According to KCAL, the five men entered the store wearing masks while some wore hoods. Police have confirmed that at least two of the men had guns.
