Video Shows United Flight Strike Truck on Turnpike before Landing at Newark Liberty Airport

An investigation is underway after a United Airlines plane struck a light pole and a truck on the New Jersey Turnpike as it was coming in for a landing at Newark Liberty International Airport on Sunday afternoon, officials said.

Dash cam footage from the truck shows the moment it is struck by Flight UA169, a Boeing 767 that originated in Venice, Italy, with 221 passengers and 10 crew members on board. . .

New Jersey State Police said a preliminary investigation indicated a tire from the plane’s landing gear and “the underside of the plane” hit both the pole and the tractor-trailer. The pole also struck a Jeep traveling on the turnpike, state police said.

The truck was traveling to Smith’s Bakery depot in Newark and was about to exit the turnpike when it was hit, according to Chuck Paterakis, senior vice president of transportation and logistics and co-principal at Baltimore-based H&S Bakery. One of the plane’s landing gear tires went through the truck’s window and windshield, Paterakis told CBS Baltimore.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, identified by Paterakis as Warren Boardley, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and was later released, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said. Paterakis said he was treated for injuries resulting from glass in his arm and hand. Priest Says Hospital Asked Him To Consider Assisted Suicide Twice After Broken Hip

A Catholic priest said that while seeking treatment for a hip injury at a Canadian hospital, medical workers twice offered him the option of assisted suicide, despite knowing that he was religiously and morally opposed to the practice.

Fr. Larry Holland, 79, fractured his hip after falling in his bathroom on Christmas Day 2025 and subsequently went to Vancouver General Hospital to seek treatment for his injury, The B.C. Catholic, the official media outlet of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vancouver, first reported. However, despite the priest’s assertion that his condition is not and never was fatal, he says a doctor had raised the possibility of him taking his own life through Canada’s taxpayer-funded and government-run Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) program in the event his injury worsened.

“I think I was very shocked. It is such a sensitive subject,” Holland told The B.C. Catholic about being given the option of MAiD, in an interview published Tuesday. “There are some things you just don’t talk about to some people.”

The priest told the outlet that the doctor said to him that MAiD is “something they have to discuss with someone who’s been given a terminal diagnosis.” Holland had at the time known made his moral opposition to euthanasia — which Catholic doctrine explicitly forbids.

Tammy Peterson says her husband, author and podcast superstar Dr. Jordan Peterson, is suffering a “neurological injury,” which has taken him out of the spotlight.

The clinical psychologist and young man whisperer stepped away from recording his popular YouTube show and podcast recently, prompting questions from fans.

His family told The Post he is primarily suffering from a “neurological injury,” from previously taking psychiatric medications.

“Dr. Peterson is at home with family and helpful companions,” Tammy reported. “His mornings are brutally painful and discouraging for him. Later, much later in the day, he sometimes feels some relief.”

Peterson had been taking the benzodiazepine Klonopin when his wife, Tammy, was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2019. Getting off the medication caused nightmarish withdrawal symptoms. Fears of Mysterious Beast Spread in Ohio after Locals Record Eerie Howls, Enormous Footprints: ‘I know what I saw’

. . .Ohioans are battening down the hatches as locals fear a not-so-friendly neighborhood Sasquatch is making a comeback after a half-century of silence — with a new brood in tow.

Northeast Ohio, the gloomiest corner of the Buckeye State, has been ripe with Bigfoot sightings since March. Some residents suspect a whole family of Sasquatches is moving into the region after a particularly brutal winter, Fox 8 reported.

Many anonymous witnesses shared pictures of hulking footprints scattered primarily between Akron and Youngstown in Portage County. Most of the prints are an estimated 17 inches in length—which can only match a creature that is at least 7-feet tall or more.

Believers who were brave enough to take their findings to the media described a creature between 6 and 10 feet tall completely covered in dark fur, the outlet reported.

Mike Miller, the co-founder of the Ohio Nightstalkers Bigfoot Research Group, is leading the charge on the ground.

This isn’t his first rodeo as the emergent expert on all things Sasquatch in Ohio, which ranks fourth in the nation for purported Bigfoot sightings. The last Bigfoot flap, or mass reports of sightings in one area, was in 1978, the outlet reported. Two American service members went missing over the weekend while participating in a joint military exercise with partner nations in North Africa. Search and rescue efforts are still underway.

CBS has reported that the two soldiers were off-duty and had decided to go on a hike to observe the sunset when one fell off of a cliff and into the water below. A number of soldiers then attempted to form a human chain to rescue their comrade in the water, but failed to pull them up. The second soldier then jumped into the water for a rescue attempt, but failed. A third soldier also attempted a rescue, but returned to shore after likewise failing.

A former Plainfield mayoral candidate admitted to falsifying about 1,000 voter registration applications during the 2021 Democratic primary.

Henrilynn Ibezim, 71, pleaded guilty to forgery, the state Office of the Attorney General said Thursday.

In exchange for the guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to drop the remaining charges against Ibezim and to recommend that he be sentenced to probation. He is scheduled to be sentenced on June 18.

Ibezim was the Unity Party candidate in the June 2021 primary election. He brought a garbage bag containing nearly 1,000 falsified voter registration applications to an Elizabeth post office to mail to the Union County Commissioner of Registration, investigators said.”

Prosecutors alleged that a group of associates and volunteers came to Ibezim’s home, where they filled out blank voter registration applications with voter information the candidate supplied. Edward Juul Rod-Larsen, 25, was found dead in Oslo on Wednesday, just days after Norwegian and French police launched a joint investigation into his parents, diplomat Terje Rod-Larsen and Mona Juul, a former ambassador.

Police launched the probe into the high-profile figures after it was reported that Epstein left a total of $10 million to Edward and his twin sister, Emma, in his will.

That is the same amount the pedophile left to his accomplice, sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, according to Epstein’s trust, in documents released by the Department of Justice.

Edward and Emma Juul Rod-Larsen were never accused of wrongdoing.

By New York Post. Jeffrey Epstein wrote a suicide note before his 2019 death in a New York City federal lockup, his cellmate claims – but its contents remain secret seven years after his death because a judge ordered it sealed, a new report revealed Thursday.

Epstein, 66, reportedly proclaimed his innocence in the note, and moaned that investigators had “found nothing” on him despite months of searching, the New York Times reported.

“What do you want me to do, bust out crying?” the note reportedly read, in part.

“Time to say goodbye,” it added.

It was scrawled on a piece of yellow legal paper and tucked into a book in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, and was reportedly found by his former cellmate — disgraced cop and convicted killer Nicholas Tartaglione. In one instance, the senior executive showed up at the victim’s apartment, where he stayed with his wife. Right in front of the latter, Hajdini removed her clothes, flaunted her breasts and implied that John Doe pleased her at that very moment. Trump Makes Major Change to Retirement Plans — and Order Could Impact 56M Americans

President Trump has signed an executive order to create retirement accounts for tens of millions of workers who don’t currently have access to a 401(k) or another workplace plan.

“I promised to make the same types of retirement accounts enjoyed by federal employees available to all Americans, and that’s what we’re doing. It only seemed fair,” he said during the signing ceremony in the Oval Office.

Low-income earners without an individual retirement account (IRA) through their employer will receive a yearly federal matching contribution of up to $1,000 each, the president noted.

That designation applies to individuals making less than $35,500 annually, heads of household making $53,250 per year, or couples making $71,000 each year jointly.

“This will be really revolutionary because they’ll be covered,” Trump said in the Oval Office.“Nobody thought that was possible. For example, if a 25-year-old who is eligible for a Saver’s Match program invests just $165 a month under the matching federal contributions, they will have an estimated $465,000 in their account by the time they’re 65 years old,” he added. Missing Republican Oklahoma Senate Candidate, 54, Found Dead in Rural Area

The body of a missing Republican Senate candidate was found inside a truck in rural Oklahoma, according to authorities and reports.

Barry Christian, a 54-year-old candidate for District 38 in western Oklahoma, was discovered dead on Thursday after he mysteriously vanished just two days prior, his campaign said in a news release obtained by KOCO.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation confirmed to the outlet that Christian’s 2024 charcoal gray Ram truck was found just off Highway 30, south of Erick, with a body inside.

The truck was located by a ravine near the Sandy Sanders Wildlife Management Area. Because of where the vehicle is located, officials are unable to remove his body, delaying identification, the outlet reported.
