Weird Reason Mosquitos Prefer Biting Certain People

As well as being an inconvenience, mosquitoes are the deadliest animal to humans on the planet.

But some people swear up and down to be more attractive to the buzzing pests than others. . .

TikToker and dermatologist Lindsey Zubritsky, who uses the handle @dermguru, took to the platform to explain the different factors that determine whether you’re more likely to attract mozzies.

The first is sweat. Female mosquitoes drink mammalian blood, and the best way they can locate their feast is through sweat. . .

“Other things that can make you more susceptible to mosquito bites is drinking a beer. The study found that just drinking one 12-ounce (350ml) can of beer can make you more attractive to mosquitoes,” Dr Zubritsky said. (Read more from “Weird Reason Mosquitos Prefer Biting Certain People” HERE)

Tucker’s Right: Trump’s Fraud Trial in NY Is a ‘Grotesque Parody of the System Our Ancestors Created’ (VIDEO)

With liberals, it often seems that it’s opposite day. When they say they want to prevent the spread of misinformation, what they really mean is they want to spread propaganda and suppress truth. When they say they simply want people to be tolerant of other cultures and beliefs, they work to implement the most intolerant institutions imaginable. When they say they want to fortify an election, it means they want to ensure a pre-determined outcome.

Since January 6 they’ve been shouting that they need to protect democracy and taking action on multiple fronts to do the opposite, as Tucker Carlson and Victor Davis Hansen expertly outline in the newest episode of Tucker on X. In his monologue, Tucker said:

Liberals are now telling us they plan to protect American democracy, and that’s the clearest possible sign that they intend to end it.

Thirteen months from this week, the United States will hold a national election. In a democracy, citizens can vote for the candidate of their choice. That’s not just a feature; it’s the defining fact of the electoral system. The people rule. They can send anyone they want to Washington, because they’re in charge.

But this year, in the name of protecting democracy, liberals have decided to strip Trump’s name from ballots across the country. Trump is the frontrunner in the presidential race. He’s currently beating Joe Biden in the polls. Yet liberals have decided that you should not be allowed to elect him president. That’s not democracy. It’s the opposite. It’s totalitarianism.

Progressive Journalist Who Downplayed Dem City’s Crime Is Shot and Killed

Philadelphia journalist Josh Kruger was shot and killed at his home in the Point Breeze neighborhood overnight, with police saying they do not currently have an suspects.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports before 1:30 in the morning, police responded to reports of gunshots and screams on the 2300 block of Watkins Street. Outside, officers found Josh Kruger shot multiple times and collapsed in the street. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his severe injuries just before 2:15 a.m.

Philadelphia police say they believe someone was able to gain access to Kruger’s home, as there is no sign of forced entry, before Kruger was shot at the base of his stairs. After the shooter fled, Kruger got outside his home for help.

Kruger recently posted on his Facebook account someone came to his house searching for their boyfriend — “a man I’ve never met once in my entire life.” The person called themselves “Lady Diabla, the She-Devil of the Streets” and threatened him.

In addition to writing for different local outlets in Philadelphia, Kruger was a former city spokesperson. On his X account, Kruger often downplayed the crime crisis in the city, along with criticizing conservatives for pointing out the problem, including days leading up to his death.

Top Scientist Has Meltdown When Confronted With Absurdity of Men in Women’s Sports

. . .On Saturday, world-renowned astrophysicist Niel deGrasse Tyson appeared on British comedian Konstantin Kisin’s “TRIGGERnometry” podcast to defend his recent statement that gender exists “on a spectrum.”

When Kisin asked Tyson about the comment, Tyson responded, “If who you decide is male and female in the street is a construct of style and trends, and what the beauty industrial complex wants you to see . . . then maybe some people want to be fluid within that gender.” . . .

Kisin and Tyson then moved on to discuss the pressing issue of men competing in women’s sports.

When Kisin pointed out that the differences between men and women were not just psychological but physical as well, giving them an advantage over women in sports, Tyson pointed out that athletes in several sports were already divided based on weight to even out the competition.

“Then you find ways to slice the population so that whatever the event is interestingly contested,” he said. “So, for example, I wrestled in my life. I was captain of my high school wrestling team. It would be unfair for me at 190 pounds, which is what I was back then, to wrestle someone 120 pounds.” (Read more from “Top Scientist Has Meltdown When Confronted With Absurdity of Men in Women’s Sports” HERE)

GOP Caves Again, No Government Shutdown; Major Financial Institutions Guessed Wrong

By Patrick Reilly, Jon Levine and Rich Calder. Congress passed a last-minute, short-term funding bill and President Joe Biden signed it just before midnight, according to reports.

The Senate approved the stopgap funding measure, known as a continuing resolution, or CR, by a final vote of 88-9, hours after the House passed it 335-91, with votes from both sides of the isle.

Biden finally signed it with just minutes to go before many government operations would have shut down. . .

The deal will increase federal disaster assistance by $16 billion and keep the government open until at least November 17 — however it notably did not include new funding to Ukraine that was proposed under an earlier plan, which became a point of contention among Senate Democrats. . .

Republican holdouts argued that a CR is essentially an extension of the previous Democratically-held Congress’ priorities, and slap to the House GOP majority’s vow to pass 12 individual spending bills laying out conservative priorities in the next fiscal year. Last Week’s Prediction: Shutdown Will Happen

By Townhall. At this point, we should expect the government to shut down on October 1. Congress has until September 30 to pass a spending measure to keep the lights on in the Capitol Building, but Speaker Kevin McCarthy said he won’t bring up the House’s plan to present a shutdown until tomorrow. The Senate has a plan to pass a continuing resolution, though it’s unlikely McCarthy will bring that to the floor for a vote.

He also can’t procure Democratic votes unless he wants to risk a leadership scuffle. Also, there’s no incentive for Democrats to help Republicans right now. Goldman Sachs predicts the chances of a shutdown at 90 percent. It might as well be 100 at this point, to be honest (via NY Post):

Wall Street is bracing for the likelihood of lengthy government shutdown — with one prominent analyst placing the odds at 90% that Republicans and Democrats won’t reach a deal before Saturday’s deadline.

Goldman Sachs’ chief economist Jan Hatzius said in a Wednesday note obtained by The Post: “A government shutdown this year has looked likely for several months, and we now think the odds have risen to 90%.”

Hatzius, who heads the bank’s global investment research, predicted the shutdown would likely last two to three weeks

REPORT: RFK Jr. To Quit Dem Party, Run as an Independent

Democrat presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will exit the Democrat party and run for president as an Independent, Mediaite reported Friday.

Kennedy plans to announce his independent candidacy on October 9 in Pennsylvania, according to a text reviewed by Mediaite. Kennedy’s campaign also plans to launch “attack ads” against the Democrat National Committee (DNC) to “pave the way” for his announcement.

A Kennedy campaign insider told the outlet that Kennedy “feels that the DNC is changing the rules to exclude his candidacy, so an independent run is the only way to go.”

The insider’s comments align with remarks Kennedy made publicly earlier this month. Kennedy claimed the DNC is “trying to make sure that I can’t participate at all in the political process, and so I’m going to keep all my options open,” when a South Carolina voter questioned him about the possibility of a third-party run as an sindependent.

Kennedy confirmed a he will make a “major announcement” in Philadelphia on October 9 in a video statement posted online Friday. (Read more from “REPORT: RFK Jr. To Quit Dem Party, Run as an Independent” HERE)

More Than 1,000 Kids Reported Missing in This State in ‘Extraordinary Surge’

Children are disappearing from northern Ohio in record numbers, with more than 1,000 minors reported missing so far this year.

More than 45 children have gone missing in the Cleveland-Akron area this month alone, and in August, there were more than 35 missing minors, according to the Ohio attorney general’s missing children website.

The disappearances are creating a disturbing trend in northern Ohio, which began in May, when nearly 30 children went missing in just the first two weeks.

Officials at the time called it an “extraordinary surge” in disappearances.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost repeated on Monday that the number of missing children is alarming — though he claimed the figure may be inflated due to inconsistencies in updating reports, which the Cleveland police have admitted to in the past. WATCH: Student Hurled Chair at Unsuspecting Teacher’s Head, Knocking Her to the Ground

A Michigan student hurled a metal chair at her unsuspecting teacher, knocking her to the ground, during a heated argument with another student — in what leaders are calling proof of the state’s failing school system.

Insane video shows the Flint Southwestern Academy High School student pacing near the classroom’s door Thursday as she screams at an out-of-view peer.

The bickering teenagers hurled profanities at one another, with the attacker apparently calling the other “big as f–k.”

[Warning: video contains explicit content.]

The teacher — who can be seen attempting to quell the chaos — was standing between the students when she caught the brunt of the attacker’s ire.

The chair struck her in the head and she dropped to the ground, remaining immobile for several seconds. (Read more from “Student Hurled Chair at Unsuspecting Teacher’s Head, Knocking Her to the Ground: Video” HERE)

What’s Going On in Arizona? Here’s Why GOP Official Had to Step in as ‘Acting Governor’

By Eden Villalovas. Arizona State Treasurer Kimberly Yee stepped in as acting governor for less than 24 hours without an explanation for why Gov. Katie Hobbs (D-AZ) was absent.

Yee announced in a press release on X, formerly known as Twitter, that she would temporarily serve as acting governor of Arizona from Wednesday evening until mid-morning Thursday, stating she’s “pleased to step into this role.” No explanation has been provided as to why Hobbs is absent.

A top Republican, Yee vowed not to use her interim new power to appoint 13 nominees as state agency directors and will refrain from calling the Arizona legislature into session to confirm them.

“While I am pleased to step into this role, I will refrain from naming directors to the 13 agencies that currently have vacancies and will not call the Arizona Legislature into session to confirm them,” Yee wrote. “That being said, I do hope when the Governor returns to Arizona, she will promptly name qualified directors to these important state agencies.”

Yee has been critical of how the Democratic governor bypassed the Senate confirmation process for heads of state agencies by reassigning her 13 picks as “deputy directors.” Hobbs announced on Monday that she was ditching the long-standing Senate vetting process, stating she was fed up with the “political circus” that has caused stalled appointments and will pursue “other lawful avenues” to appoint nominees. Where Hobbs Was (Allegedly)

By Townhall. On Thursday, the Arizona Republic reported that Hobbs “was in Washington D.C. Wednesday for a meeting about border issues with Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas following a week-long visit to Taiwan, an important Arizona trade ally. She flew back to the state Thursday to meet with President Joe Biden, who arrived Wednesday night for a visit that promoted his campaign messages.”

The report not only sought to address “an erroneous news report” from Fox News about Hobbs, which was later corrected, but sought to downplay the speculation about where Hobbs was. “Hobbs didn’t disappear,” the report claimed, also noting that Treasurer Kimberly Yee “was acting governor for less than 24 hours,” though that’s still a noteworthy 24 hours.

The Arizona Republic revealed Hobbs’ whereabouts at 4:54pm Mountain Standard Time, so people can be forgiven for wondering what was going on when there was so little known for so long.

Further, if Hobbs was indeed “meeting about border issues,” and we have no evidence she wasn’t, wouldn’t that be something Democrats would promote, given how they’ve been rightfully criticized for how the party–the Biden administration especially–has handled the issue?

Only 3% Of Dem-Run City’s Restaurants Have Not Been Vandalized in Past Month: Survey

Vandalism is becoming almost unavoidable for San Francisco’s restaurants, a new survey shows.

Only 3% out of 74 restaurants surveyed said they had not experienced graffiti or property crime in the last month, according to a new survey from the Golden Gate Restaurant Association.

The city has spent $1 million on grants for vandalism relief since 2021, and nearly 800 businesses have received $1,000 or $2,000 grants for graffiti, broken windows, or other vandalism, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

San Francisco’s 311 call center has received 10,000 reports of graffiti on commercial buildings and sidewalks in the last six months, the outlet reported.

Now, the San Francisco Police Department has even assigned an officer to investigate graffiti full-time. (Read more from “Only 3% Of Dem-Run City’s Restaurants Have Not Been Vandalized in Past Month: Survey” HERE)
