‘You Don’t Know, Do You?’: Biden Official Speechless After Senator Grills Him on Simple Question (VIDEO)

Republican Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy left a Biden administration official speechless Wednesday after asking him how spending $50 trillion will reduce global temperatures.

Department of Energy Deputy Secretary David Turk testified Wednesday before the Senate committee on appropriations to discuss the 2024 budget request for the Department of Energy.

Kennedy noted the budget requests a 38% increase in green energy funding while cutting nuclear energy funding with barely an increase fossil fuel energy. Kennedy then asked Turk for an estimate of how much it would cost to be carbon neutral by 2050, with Turk refusing to provide a number. Kennedy first said Turk’s colleagues have presented a figure in the range of $50 trillion before asking how much would temperatures be affected by that massive spending.

“If you could answer my question: if we spend $50 trillion to become carbon neutral in the United States of America by 2050, you’re the deputy secretary of energy, give me your estimate of how much that is going to reduce world temperature.”

“So first of all it’s a net cost, it’s what benefits we’re having by getting our act together and reducing all of those climate benefits, we’re seeing –” Turk said before Kennedy interjected.

Female Lifeguard Applicant Who Identifies as Male Exposes ‘Bare Breasts’ in Front of ‘Several Dozen Children’ at City Pool

A transgender lifeguard applicant — a female who identifies as male — exposed “bare breasts” in front of “several dozen children” at a pool in Jacksonville, Florida, last week, WJAX-TV reported. . .

The station said the incident occurred at Cecil Aquatic Center during a group tryout for the lifeguard position and that the city received complaints.

Here’s a statement from the city about what happened, WJAX said:

This incident happened Thursday of last week at Cecil Pool. A transgender person, a female who identifies as male, removed their shirt exposing their bare breasts, and completed a portion of the training with 20 other trainees. While we cannot confirm the age of the individuals participating in the training, JaxParks recruits lifeguards starting at age 15. This occurred within view of several dozen children and their parents sharing the same pool at the same time.

Illegal Alien Who Allegedly Slaughtered Entire Texas Family Because They Made a Noise Complaint Captured by Elite Border Patrol Agents

By Daily Caller. The elite tactical Border Patrol unit nabbed a man believed to be responsible for the killing of five people in Cleveland, Texas, a Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC) agent confirmed to the Daily Caller News Foundation late Tuesday.

San Jacinto County District Attorney Todd Dillon said authorities arrested a man believed to be Francisco Oropesa, 38, in Cut and Shoot, Texas, according to NBC. Oropesa, who is an illegal immigrant from Mexico, allegedly conducted an “execution style” killing of his neighbors, Sonia Argentina Guzman, 25; Daniel Enrique Laso Guzman, 8; Diana Velazquez Alvarado, 21; Julisa Molina Rivera, 31 and Jose Jonathan Casarez, 18, on Friday.

“The U.S. Border Patrol was requested for assistance in the manhunt for the killer responsible for the senseless murders in Cleveland, TX. Members from the U.S. Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC) deployed to Cleveland, TX and quickly employed tactics learned from lessons learned from the recent manhunts in Pennsylvania and New York. Working with information provided by intelligence sources, the killer was surrounded and taken into custody without incident,” the BORTAC agent, who requested anonymity because they weren’t authorized to speak publicly, told the DCNF.

“The professionalism of BORTAC and the unit’s motto of Erigere Rapidus stands true in every deployment. Our prayers go to the families and the community of Cleveland, TX,” the official added.

BORTAC agents also entered elementary school classrooms during the Uvalde, Texas, shooting that occurred in May 2022 when local law enforcement waited to take such action. Texas Shooting Suspect: Gov. Abbott, Lawmakers Respond After Four-Day Manhunt Ends With Arrest

Several lawmakers from Texas took to Twitter to praise the efforts of a massive law enforcement task force Tuesday evening after they apprehended 38-year-old Mexican national Francisco Oropesa, who is accused of killing five neighbors including a 9-year-old child in Cleveland, Texas last month.

U.S. Marshals, Texas Department of Public Safety and the U.S. Border Patrol’s BORTAC team apprehended Oropesa, 38, without incident Tuesday evening. He was found hiding in the closet of a home, under a pile of laundry before he was taken into custody.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott tweeted: “Great job by law enforcement.”

Sen. Ted Cruz called the suspect a “mass murdering illegal alien” and said he “deserves the death penalty.”

“Thank you to the brave men and women of law enforcement who worked tirelessly to apprehend this mass murdering illegal alien who killed 5 innocent people,” the U.S. senator wrote. Media Matters Tried to Destroy Tucker With Leaked Tapes, and It Blew up Spectacularly

Left-wing Media Matters attempted to discredit Daily Caller co-founder Tucker Carlson with leaked tapes of him at the Fox News studio, but it did not go as planned.

The footage, posted by senior fellow Matthew Gertz, showed Carlson jokingly calling a woman “yummy,” joking about sex with Piers Morgan and joking about his “postmenopausal fans” judging his on-screen appearance. As it turns out, the outlet failed to do Carlson much damage.

“Thank you for confirming that Tucker is a normal, down-to-earth, very funny person. Great work, as always, Media Matters, curating excellent conservative content,” City Journal writer Christopher Rufo commented.

“Media Matters really thought they had something with these leaks of Tucker Carlson telling jokes while off the air. They really, really, thought they had something with it. Anyone with a sense of humor can assess that the things Tucker said, like MMFA itself, are in fact, jokes,” Ian Miles Cheong said.

Biden’s CIA Director Met With Jeffrey Epstein Multiple Times After Child Sex Crimes Conviction

By Daily Caller. Newly released documents revealed Biden-appointed CIA Director William Burns met with deceased financier and sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein on multiple occasions after he was convicted of sex crimes in Florida, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reports.

The private calendar and emails show Epstein scheduled three meetings with Burns in 2014 when Burns was deputy secretary of state under President Obama, according to WSJ. Their first meeting was planned for August in the Washington, DC office of law firm Steptoe & Johnson and the next two were booked for Epstein’s Manhattan, New York townhouse, the documents show. Epstein planned on having Burns taken back to the airport after one of the scheduled meetings.

A CIA spokesperson told WSJ Burns met with Epstein as he was preparing to leave the government and did not know anything about him. “The director did not know anything about him, other than that he was introduced as an expert in the financial services sector and offered general advice on transition to the private sector,” CIA spokesperson Tammy Kupperman Thorp told the outlet. “They had no relationship.”

Burns recalled meeting Epstein once in New York after they were introduced by a mutual friend, Thorp told WSJ. “The director does not recall any further contact, including receiving a ride to the airport.”

Burns left government in October 2014 to become president of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a prominent foreign policy think tank based in Washington, DC. He was appointed CIA Director by President Biden in 2021. A career diplomat, he previously served as ambassador to Russia from 2005-08. Biden, Obama Official Had Private Meetings With Epstein After Sex Crime Convictions

By Townhall. Jeffry Epstein’s private calendar reveals an official who served under the Obama and Biden Administrations had close ties to the convicted late sex offender.

William Burns, who became the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) director during the Biden administration, also a college president and attorney who served with former President Barack Obama, had scheduled meetings with Epstein several times after the pedophile was convicted of child sex crimes.

Three scheduled meetings were slated to occur after Epstein was jailed in 2008 in Washington D.C. and Epstein’s townhome in Manhattan, New York. However, it is unclear if each scheduled meeting took place or the purpose of the sessions.

US Navy Used Drag Queen Influencer to Attract a ‘Wide Range’ of New Troops as Recruitment Plummets

By Daily Caller. The Navy brought on an active-duty drag queen to participate in a pilot program aimed at reaching a wider audience through popular social media platforms as the military faces severe recruiting woes, a Navy spokesperson told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Yeoman 2nd Class Joshua Kelley, stage name Harpy Daniels, announced the Navy invited him to become the first “Navy Digital Ambassador” in a November 2022 social media post, highlighting his journey from performing on deck in 2018 to becoming a “leader” and “advocate” of people who “were oppressed for years in the service.” The Digital Ambassador initiative in which Kelley participated ran from October 2022 to March 2023 and was “designed to explore the digital environment to reach a wide range of potential candidates,” the Navy spokesperson said.

The Digital Ambassador initiative concluded in April, and the Navy is now evaluating the program to consider what form it will take in the future, the spokesperson told the DCNF. . .

Top Military Officials Questioned Over Drag Shows on Military Bases

By Rebecca Kheel. . .[C]onservative firebrand Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., grilled Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Mark Milley on several recent drag events that have become extensively discussed in conservative media, including a planned “Drag Queen Storytime” that Ramstein Air Base, Germany, canceled last year after GOP criticism.

“I’d like to take a look at those myself and find out what actually is going on there because that’s the first I’m hearing about that kind of stuff,” Milley said after Gaetz read several headlines from conservative outlets about the drag events. “I’d like to take a look at those because I don’t agree with those. I think those things shouldn’t be happening.”

Justice Alito Has ‘Good Idea’ of Who Leaked Dobbs Opinion; Suggests Motive Was Assassination

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito said that he has a “pretty good” idea who was behind the leak of the court’s decision on overturning Roe v. Wade — and that the leak made the justices targets for possible assassination.

Alito, who authored the landmark Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision that ruled there is no constitutional right to abortion, made the comments in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.

“I personally have a pretty good idea who is responsible, but that’s different from the level of proof that is needed to name somebody,” Alito said: “It was a part of an effort to prevent the Dobbs draft … from becoming the decision of the court. And that’s how it was used for those six weeks by people on the outside — as part of the campaign to try to intimidate the court.”

Southern Poverty Law Center ‘Hate’ List Suffers Legal Setback

The Southern Poverty Law Center’s famous list of “hate” groups is under fire in a courtroom in Alabama, where a judge has opened the door for a group that opposes illegal immigration to challenge the SPLC for slapping it with the Scarlet H.

The Georgia-based Dustin Inman Society and founder D.A. King say they work against illegal immigration but have no problem with legal immigrants. Indeed, some legal immigrants are on the organization’s board, and Mr. King’s adopted sister is an immigrant.

He says it’s defamation for the SPLC to call him an “anti-immigrant hate group.”

The SPLC asked a judge to toss the case, but U.S. District Judge W. Keith Watkins refused in a ruling last week. He said Mr. King should have a chance to develop his case and seek more evidence against the SPLC through discovery.

Republicans in Two States Block Abortion Bans

This South Carolina Republican Just Blocked the Bill to Protect Babies From Abortions

By Life News. Earlier this week, the South Carolina state Senate had a 2nd reading vote on legislation to make South Carolina the 16th state to protect babies from abortions. Lawmakers approved the bill by a razor-thin one vote margin and the measure was poised to pass and third reading and head to Governor Henry McMaster, who would sign it into law.

But Sen. Sandy Senn (R-Charleston) had other plans.

The Republican legislator got four other GOP lawmakers together and filibustered the bill, killing it for the legislative session and making it more likely that babies will continue to be killed in abortions in one of the most conservative states in the nation.

Three attempts to end the filibuster all failed unfortunately and the state Senate adjourned without a final vote on the bill.

Republican Defends Killing Nebraska Bill to Protect Babies From Abortion: “I Don’t Want to Be Mean”

By Life News. A Nebraska Republican lawmaker is defending killing an abortion ban that would protect babies with beating hearts.

Nebraska could have been the next state to protect babies from abortions if not for a recalcitrant Republicans who sold out unborn children.

Republican Sen. Merv Riepe had cosponsored the measure to protect babies from abortion when their heartbeat can be detected, but yesterday he abstained from voting on the measure. That allowed a Democrat filibuster of the bill to prevail – making it so thousands of babies will continue to be killed in abortions until the legislature can try again next year.

Life Expectancy Could Grow 80% With This Anti-Aging Breakthrough

. . .Researchers from the University of California San Diego conducted a study to reprogram the cellular aging process.

The study concluded that they were able to increase the lifespan of yeast cells by 82% — and claimed that the same could be done to human cells.

The study was published in the peer-reviewed journal Science on Thursday.

Yeast cells are single-celled microorganisms that undergo an aging process similar to that of human cells — and while the latter are more complex, the experts are optimistic that the science can be relayed.

Yeast cells have a transcriptional toggle switch that allows them to die in one of two ways: nucleolar decline (splintering of the cell’s protein-making properties) or mitochondrial decay (waning of the cell’s energy production).
