What You Should Know About the New York Judge Assigned to Trump Case

Acting New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan will preside over the hush money prosecution of former President Donald Trump despite his history of rulings against the businessman-turned-politician’s associates. . .

Trump contended last week that Merchan was “hand picked” by Bragg to preside over the case and said that Merchan “hates” him in a post to his social media platform Truth Social. Another all-caps post to Truth Social on Tuesday morning asserted that Merchan is “highly partisan” and contended that his family is composed of “well known Trump haters.”

Merchan, a Colombian-born immigrant who moved to the United States as a 6-year-old, earned a law degree from Hofstra University in 1994, according to a report from the Associated Press. He served in the state attorney general’s office before his 2006 appointment by former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg as a family court judge. Merchan has worked as an acting justice on the New York Supreme Court since 2009.

Merchan ruled against the Trump Organization earlier this year, finding the real estate conglomerate guilty of 17 charges related to a years-long tax evasion scheme under which the firm distributed various gifts and perks to executives. By The Blaze. BlazeTV personality Alex Stein was assaulted at a Transgender Day of Visibility event in New York City on Friday. The New York Police Department failed to take action against those who assailed, spit on, and doused hot coffee on Stein.

Stein was assaulted for daring to present a different viewpoint at a Transgender Day of Visibility event in Union Square. The firebrand media personality chanted to the crowd, “It’s okay to be gay, don’t cut your penis off today!”

Speaking of children transitioning, Stein told the transgender supporters, “Children cannot consent! You guys are all sick!”

Seconds later, Stein was assaulted by the mob and his phone was knocked out of his hands. Stein is shoved and someone in the crowd stole his hat from his head. A man tried to wrap his arms around Stein to bring him down. Another person wearing a “Protect Trans Kids” sucker-punches Alex in the head. A woman shoves Stein from behind.

The progressive crowd not only assaulted Stein, but also doused him with water and hot coffee. The viral video also shows an LGBTQ supporter spit on Stein.

Video: Violent Transgender Activists Allegedly Assault Dad

By The Blaze. The Vancouver Police Department is investigating after activist Chris Elston, also known as “Billboard Chris,” says he was assaulted Friday at a trans-rights rally.

“The most violent group in the western world are transgender activists,” Elston tweeted Saturday.

“Here I am getting assaulted in the presence of dozens of police who do nothing,” Elston said.

“We have launched an investigation into an incident that occurred at yesterday’s trans-rights rally at Grandview Park. We support everyone’s right to peacefully assemble and protest, but we will also hold people accountable for acts of violence and criminal behaviour,” the Vancouver Police Department said Saturday afternoon in a tweet that is closed for comment.

Former Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance Jr. provided insight into the criminal case against Donald Trump on Sunday, declining to say it is “airtight.” . . .

Speaking on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Vance admitted he is unsure whether the case is “airtight,” and he explained why declined to pursue the case several years ago.

At first, Vance reiterated that federal attorneys in the Southern District of New York had asked his office to “stand down.” Then he implied that his office did not pursue a felony case against Trump because such a case is unprecedented — not just against a former president, but against anyone.

“I don’t want to get into our deliberations. But we have historically filed cases of false documentation, elevating them to felonies, when federal statutes were involved,” Vance began. China Expert Predicts Where U.S. Will ‘See the Next War Start’

China is ready for war and America is ill-prepared for it, according to one foreign policy expert who also warned it could happen on U.S. soil.

“The one thing that we know is that China is making fast preparations for war now,” Gatestone Institute senior fellow and “The Great U.S.-China Tech War” author Gordon Chang said on “Mornings with Maria” Monday.

“Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, just about 24 hours ago said all of this was overheated rhetoric, the way he put it. But the point is, China is preparing to kill Americans and we’ve got to prepare to defend ourselves,” Chang continued. “And the Defense Department is making slow, really slow, molasses-slow preparations to oppose China.”

Chang’s comments were made just before an NBC News report revealed the Chinese spy balloon which traversed the continental U.S. earlier this year gathered sensitive information as it flew over American military sites, despite the White House’s efforts to block it, according to two senior officials and one former Biden administration official. . .

“The real risk here is at the Darién Gap,” the expert said referring to the peninsula which connects North to South America. “Michael Yon, a war correspondent, is saying that he is seeing [Chinese] males of military age who are unattached to family groups. Those, I believe, are saboteurs. By American Military News. President Joe Biden’s administration refused to rule out gun confiscation this week after a transgender shooter attacked a Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee, leaving three children and three adults dead.

During a White House press briefing, a reporter asked press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre if Biden supports “not just banning the sale and manufacturing of semiautomatic weapons, but further than that, confiscation.”

“Let me just be very clear: what we’re talking about, AR-15s, these assault weapons ban, they are weapons of war and they should not be on the streets across the country in our communities, they should not be in schools, they should not be in grocery stores, they should not be in churches,” Jean-Pierre said. “That’s what the president believes.”

The reporter pressed Jean-Pierre, adding that there are “25 million [AR-15s] out there in circulation in the homes of millions of Americans, and therefore you can’t ban them.”

Leftwing Author Claims Ordinary Conservatives are “Ready for Executions”

Author Jeff Sharlet has spent years interviewing conservatives and found many unassuming Americans are ready and eager for violence against their political enemies.

Sharlet’s latest book, The Undertow: Scenes from a Slow Civil War, is the result of more than a dozen years of reporting on the religious right, compiling numerous interviews conducted throughout the Midwest and Great Plains, and he’s more worried than ever about the possibility of civil war, reported The Guardian.

“I’ve been writing about the right for a long time,” he told the newspaper. “I’m always interested in the margins of things that tell us about what’s happening at the center. An undertow is a metaphor for that, for the force that’s been pulling us to this place for a long time. If you’d asked me 10 years ago if I ever thought another civil war would be possible in the United States, I would have said no. But to think so [now] is to not understand that the right in America is as dangerous as it is.”

He cited a “nice-looking” family he met near Eau Claire, Wisconsin, who seemed like “ordinary” conservatives, as the newspaper described them, but harbored bloodthirsty fantasies rooted in extreme conservative politics. Transgender School Shooter ‘Was Hunting Pastor Who Was Counseling Her’

The Nashville school shooter, Audrey Hale, was reportedly hunting down the pastor she was receiving counseling from but instead killed his daughter when she could not find him.

Hale, 28, had been having private sessions with Pastor Chad Scruggs before she embarked on a shooting spree at the Covenant school, according to former pastor Jim Bachmann.

Pastor Scrugg’s nine-year-old daughter Hallie was shot dead along with two other children and three staff members during the attack.

Mr Bachmann told InsideEdition that Hale “appeared to be searching the school” for Pastor Scruggs. . .

Elon Musk’s Twitter Cracks Down On Conservatives Raising Alarm About ‘Trans Day Of Vengeance’ After Attack On Christian School

Elon Musk’s Twitter has restricted accounts of prominent conservative politicians, journalists, and activists that are raising awareness about the fact that radical transgender activists called for a “Trans Day of Vengeance” ahead of the mass shooting at a Nashville Christian school, carried out by a woman who identified as transgender.

One of the suspended accounts included Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who reportedly tweeted an image of a poster advertising the upcoming “Trans Day of Vengeance” event, which is being hosted by the Trans Radical Activist Network.

“My Congressional account was suspended for 7 days for exposing Antifa, who are organizing a call for violence called ‘Trans Day of Vengeance,’” Greene said. “The day after the mass murder of children by a trans shooter.” . . .

Greene is not the only account suspended on Twitter due to raising awareness about what radical transgender activists are planning.

School District Cuts Ties With LGBTQ Group After Undercover Project Veritas Video

A Placer County school district cut ties with a Loomis pastor after Project Veritas, an organization known for recording undercover video, posted clips of the Landing Spot founder discussing the LGBTQ+ peer support group’s mentorship of transgender teens and how it communicates with parents.

More than a week later, the subject of the Project Veritas video, Casey Tinnin-Martinez, pastor of the Loomis Basin Congregational United Church of Christ, said he has received multiple death threats and had protesters outside his home. No legal action has been taken against the conservative activist group.

In an interview Tuesday, Tinnin-Martinez declined to comment on the status of his legal inquiry, but said he had received an “outpouring” of support “not just locally but from across the world.”

The video, which has received 1.7 million views on Twitter, depicts Tinnin-Martinez at a restaurant in which he was allegedly recorded without his permission as he discussed mentoring transgender teens and children through his church and peer support group. . .

“We used to meet at the church because it was free, and kids would say they’re going to ‘youth group,’ right?” Tinnin-Martinez said. “We moved to the library because kids said they were meeting their friends at the library. So it’s not lying, but it’s not fully the truth, right? But it keeps them safe, and that’s all I f—— care about.”
