Censorship by the Feds Crushes News via Lefty ‘Disinfo’ Firms

By New York Post. Don’t worry, fellow Americans! The US government would never directly interfere with your First Amendment rights, and certainly not to favor one side of our political debates. But Uncle Sam will happily contract those jobs out to creepy left-wing “disinformation”-fighting firms — and use your tax dollars to do it.

Take the case of the Global Disinformation Index (early front-runner for this year’s Most Orwellian Name), unearthed by the Washington Examiner. The UK-based GDI takes money from the US government, i.e. your money, and uses it to build up blacklists of wrongthinkers.

Then they push for advertisers to boycott these sites, trying to drive them out of business.

GDI works hand-in-glove with other shops in the same nightmare industry, like Integral Ad Science, a firm that uses AI to police journalism. Through IAS, GDI is linked to DoubleVerify, a publicly traded company which operates an “inflammatory news index” — the names on it kept secret in the best totalitarian tradition.

The outfits getting blacklisted? Libertarian flagship Reason, right-of-center The Daily Wire and even aggregators like RealClearPolitics. The outlets it labels less risky — NPR, BuzzFeed, the AP, The New York Times and the like — are all those that happily parrot whatever actual disinfo comes from the White House or other corridors of power, up to and including the 100% fake Steele Dossier. Left-Wing ‘Disinformation’ Groups Rake in Cash With Blacklist of Conservative News Outlets: Report

By New York Post. Left-wing global watchdog groups have raked in hundreds of thousands of dollars with secretive “exclusion lists” that target conservative media in an attempt to deny them advertising dollars, according to a bombshell report.

The UK-based Global Disinformation Index (GDI) has two San Antonio, Texas-based affiliates with nonprofit status that have seen their coffers swell in the guise of tracking disinformation, according to the Washington Examiner.

Tax records for 2020 cited by the news site ProPublica show Disinformation Index Inc. had total revenue of $345,000, while Disinformation Index Foundation raked in $569,219 — an increase of more than 2,800% compared to the previous year, when its revenue totaled $19,612.

The London-based GDI is run by Clare Melford, a former senior vice president for MTV Networks, and Daniel Rogers, who sits on the board of Human Rights First, a left-leaning nonprofit group that blames the spread of disinformation for fomenting “violent extremism and public health crises.”

The group’s “exclusionary list” is compiled with input from members of an advisory panel that includes journalist Anne Applebaum, who had dismissed The Post’s Hunter Biden laptop scoop as “not interesting.” (Read more from “Left-Wing ‘Disinformation’ Groups Rake in Cash With Blacklist of Conservative News Outlets: Report” HERE)

CNN Anchor Left Out Key Detail for MSU Shooting Suspect While He Was at Large

CNN anchor Alisyn Camerota was on the air when news was breaking about the shooting at Michigan State University Monday evening, she provided details about the suspect after police released information about him but she left out the man police were actively looking for was black.

Camerota referenced a tweet from MSU Police, but did not show it on the screen, and said, “Campus police tweeted that the suspected gunman is a short male with a mask. That’s basically all we know.”

Except that was not “all we know.” MSU Police’s tweet stated the following: “The suspect description is a short male with a mask, possibly Black. Please continue to shelter in place. We are still receiving multiple calls of an active shooter on campus.”

ChatGPT Went to Congress, Became a Pro-Choice, Anti-Gun Liberal; Refused to Write Conservative Bills

By Washington Times. The intelligence might be artificial, but the bias is real.

As the chatbot ChatGPT captures the attention of the world, it seems there’s little its artificial intelligence can’t do. Law school professors in Minnesota say it has passed their tests. It also has passed exams for business and medical school. A member of Congress had it write a speech that was delivered on the House floor last month. . .

For one thing, its comprehension of government was stunted. It boiled complex issues down to book report analysis. It also showed bias: ChatGPT tilted far to the left and at times seemed unable to comprehend conservative points of view.

Asked to draft a bill that could be introduced in Congress to ban assault weapons, it delivered. Legislation to defund U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement? No problem. Legalize marijuana at the federal level? The artificial intelligence tool spit out a 181-word piece of legislation.

When asked to write a bill funding construction of the border wall, ChatGPT recoiled. . .

Abortion produced a similar result. ChatGPT drafted legislation guaranteeing the right to abortion through all stages of pregnancy. When asked for a bill to bar abortion except when the mother’s life is at risk, the artificial intelligence tool said it couldn’t do it. Google Cautions Against ‘Hallucinating’ Chatbots, Report Says

By Reuters. The boss of Google’s search engine warned against the pitfalls of artificial intelligence in chatbots in a newspaper interview published on Saturday, as Google parent company Alphabet (GOOGL.O) battles to compete with blockbuster app ChatGPT.

“This kind of artificial intelligence we’re talking about right now can sometimes lead to something we call hallucination,” Prabhakar Raghavan, senior vice president at Google and head of Google Search, told Germany’s Welt am Sonntag newspaper.

“This then expresses itself in such a way that a machine provides a convincing but completely made-up answer,” Raghavan said in comments published in German. One of the fundamental tasks, he added, was keeping this to a minimum.

Google has been on the back foot after OpenAI, a startup Microsoft (MSFT.O) is backing with around $10 billion, in November introduced ChatGPT, which has since wowed users with its strikingly human-like responses to user queries. Pentagon Confirms Shot-Down Objects Aren’t Balloons, Makes an Even Weirder Admission

. . .The Pentagon gave a briefing on Sunday evening after yet another unidentified flying object was shot down, this time in US airspace over Lake Huron. Reports began to circulate that the object was an “octagon” and that it didn’t appear to be a balloon.

That set off some speculation that the recent rash of UFOs were balloons, likely from China, but that they were simply shaped differently than one would expect. In a pretty shocking statement, though, Gen. Glen VanHerck made it clear that’s not the view of the US military.

The UFOs not being balloons would be crazy enough, but things get even weirder when you hear a top US general admit that we don’t even know what is keeping these objects in the air. I’d think they did ample recon on whatever it was before shooting it down, including taking detailed pictures. I’d also think that the US military has the capability to identify pretty much anything China or another nation could throw at us. . .

Whatever these objects are, there are a lot of them, and there has to be a reason for them. If it’s China, are they testing US defense capabilities? And if they are, that leads to the obvious question of why they are testing them. Further, did China shoot down its own craft over Rizhao to keep up the ruse? Flight Plunged to 775 Feet Above Ocean Soon After Takeoff, Data Reveals

A United Airlines flight nearly dropped into the Pacific Ocean after taking off from a Maui airport in December 2022, according to flight data.

A Boeing 777-200, after climbing to 2,200 feet, suddenly plunged to just 775 feet above the Pacific Ocean, according to FlightRadar24, a flight tracking website. The incident occurred around a minute after United Airlines Flight UA 1722 departed from Kahului Airport in Maui and began heading toward San Francisco International Airport on Dec. 18.

The plane left Maui just before 3 p.m. and there was stormy weather at the time of takeoff, The Air Current reported. The aircraft’s climb appeared ordinary and safe before it suddenly dropped. The plane began dropping at a descent rate of nearly 8,600 feet per minute, according to the flight data. U.S. Military Pilots Say Unidentified Flying Object Shot Down Over Alaska Had ‘No Identifiable Propulsion,’ Interfered With Their Sensors: Report

The unidentified flying object shot down 10 miles off the coast of Alaska had “no identifiable propulsion” and interfered with the sensors of the U.S. military fighter jets that engaged the aircraft on Friday, according to a new report.

An unidentified object the size of a small car with a cylindrical shape, and flying at 40,000 feet off the coast of Alaska.

A senior military official said the object was initially detected by radar, and then F-35 stealth fighter jets were scrambled to investigate the UFO.

National Security Council coordinator for strategic communications John Kirby said fly-bys of the object happened on Thursday night and Friday morning, but both encounters provided “limited” information about the unidentified object.

Kirby noted that the object “did not appear to be self-maneuvering.” (Read more from “U.S. Military Pilots Say Unidentified Flying Object Shot Down Over Alaska Had ‘No Identifiable Propulsion,’ Interfered With Their Sensors: Report” HERE)

Jill Biden Earns Fitting New Nickname After Eagles Lose Super Bowl

Though both President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden are said to be big fans of Philadelphia sports teams, it is usually only the Mrs. we see front and center attending home games.

She went to at least two Philadelphia Eagles games this season, including when the Eagles played (and defeated) Dallas in October, where we saw her get mercilessly booed by Eagles fans in the midst of her her stint as “honorary captain” for the coin toss:

. . .So naturally, Mrs. Biden was going to weigh in with her support for the Eagles on Super Bowl Sunday, tweeting this video of her wearing an Eagles jersey with the name “Biden” and the number “46”:

The Eagles going down in defeat had some only half-jokingly blaming Jill Biden for what happened, calling it what’s become known as the “Jill Biden curse”:

Pentagon Shoots Down ANOTHER Unidentified Object, This Time Over Canada; Yesterday, UFO Shot Down Over Alaska; Total of Four

By Faris Tanyos. An “unidentified object” which “violated “Canadian airspace” was shot down over Canada Saturday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced.

The object was shot down by a U.S. military F-22 fighter jet over the Yukon, Trudeau said.

A U.S. official had previously confirmed that the object was detected by North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and appeared to be a “high-altitude balloon.”

Trudeau tweeted that “Canadian and U.S. aircraft were scrambled” after he “ordered the take down” of the object by NORAD.

In a statement to CBS News, Pentagon Press Secretary Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said that it was first detected over Alaska on Friday night, and then monitored by two F-22 fighter jets with the assistance of the Alaska Air National Guard. Fourth “Unidentified Object” Located Over Montana, Says Congressman

By Harriet Alexander. A Montana congressman said on Saturday night that he had been told an unidentified object was spotted over his district, forcing the temporary closure of airspace – and the search for it would resume at daylight.

Matt Rosendale, a Republican elected in 2020, said he had been briefed by the Department of Defense, while he was at a Lincoln Reagan dinner.

Fighter jets were scrambled and airspace above Havre, a town of 10,000 people, 30 miles south of the Canadian border, was shut at 7:50pm before being reopened about 50 minutes later.

‘I’m at an event, a Lincoln Reagan dinner in Columbus, Montana right now,’ Rosendale told Fox News.

‘And DOD called me as I have been sitting here and started giving me briefings to tell me what was going on. I clarified with them that this is actually the fourth balloon, OK.’ (Read more about the fourth unidentified object HERE)

Mystery Object Shot Down Over Alaska

By New York Times. The Pentagon said it shot down an unidentified object over frozen waters around Alaska on Friday at the order of President Biden, less than a week after a U.S. fighter jet brought down a Chinese spy balloon over the Atlantic in an episode that increased tensions between Washington and Beijing.

U.S. officials said they could not immediately confirm whether the object was a balloon, but it was traveling at an altitude that made it a potential threat to civilian aircraft.

At a news conference on Friday, John F. Kirby, a White House spokesman, said Mr. Biden ordered the unidentified object near Alaska downed “out of an abundance of caution.”

The Friday shootdown showed Mr. Biden taking direct and forceful action far more quickly than he did last week, when some Republican lawmakers criticized him for letting the spy balloon linger over the United States for several days before destroying it. But that period of observation last week allowed American officials to collect intelligence about the spy balloon, while in the episode on Friday, officials seemed unsure about what exactly they shot down. After China Balloon Scare, Air Force Shoots Down Object Flying Above Alaska’s North Slope

By Alaska Public Media. An F-22 fighter jet from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson shot down an unidentified object flying above Alaska’s North Slope on Friday, officials at the White House said.

The shootdown, at 9:45 a.m. Alaska time, took place less than a week after an Air Force fighter jet shot down a Chinese surveillance balloon off the coast of South Carolina. . .

John Kirby, the National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the White House, said in a news conference that the object on Friday was “much, much smaller” than the Chinese surveillance balloon and was “about the size of a small car.” . . .

President Joe Biden ordered the object be shot down, Kirby said. It was traveling at an elevation of about 40,000 feet and could have posed a threat to commercial aviation, he said. (Read more from “After China Balloon Scare, Air Force Shoots Down Object Flying Above Alaska’s North Slope” HERE)

Biden Makes Eyebrow-Raising Admission About Documents Seized From His Home — Then Blames Staffers (VIDEO)

President Joe Biden admitted Wednesday that at least one document seized by federal investigators from his private residence in Wilmington, Delaware, is nearly 50 years old.

At the end of an interview with Biden, PBS anchor Judy Woodruff asked the president why his condemnation of former President Donald Trump for retaining classified documents — Biden called it “totally irresponsible” — does not also apply to him.

“What I was talking about was what was laid out,” Biden said, referring to the infamous picture the Justice Department included in court documents showing classified documents on the floor of Mar-a-Lago.

But ignoring the fact that some of the documents found at his former Washington office reportedly contained highly classified intelligence markings, Biden then tried to defend himself by noting that he “voluntarily” allowed federal agents to search his home.

“In the best of my knowledge, the kinds of things they picked up were things that from 1974 and stray papers,” Biden admitted. “There may be something else, I don’t know.”

Cause of Death for Young ABC News Producer Revealed

Officials on Wednesday confirmed the cause of death of Dax Tejera, the late executive producer of ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.”

The New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner determined 37-year-old Tejera choked to death while intoxicated, reporting he suffered from “asphyxia due to obstruction of airway by food bolus complicating acute alcohol intoxication,” on the evening of Dec. 23, according to People Magazine. A memo released by ABC News President Kimberly Godwin previously attributed a heart attack as the cause of Tejera’s death.

Tejera is survived by his wife, Veronica, and their two daughters: 2-year-old Sofia and 7-month-old Ella.

The night of his death, authorities were notified about unattended children present at a hotel near Grand Central Station in New York City, where Tejera and his wife were staying, Entertainment Tonight (ET) reported. Police arrested Veronica for leaving the children alone, which she later said she regretted in a public statement. (Read more from “Cause of Death for Young ABC News Producer Revealed” HERE)
