By Daily Caller. Republican Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger said during Sunday’s “State of the Union” that he is “open” to supporting a federal ban on assault weapons in the aftermath of the Uvalde massacre.

CNN’s Dana Bash began by asking Kinzinger to explain why Americans “need” to own AR-15 style rifles since he had openly opposed an assault weapons ban in the past.

Kinzinger responded, “I have opposed a ban fairly recently. I think I’m open to a ban now. It’s gonna depend on what it looks like because there’s a lot of nuances on what constitutes certain things, but I’m getting to the point where I have to wonder, maybe somebody to own one, maybe you need an extra license, maybe you need extra training. And so the question is, is it a ban versus is it an additional certification?”

The Illinois representative took shots at his own party for not finding a way to “mitigate” young people purchasing these guns.

“The problem is for people who support the Second Amendment, like me, we have to be coming to the table with ways to mitigate 18-year-olds buying these guns and walking into schools,” he said. “My side’s not doing that. My side’s not coming forward with reasonable ways to defend an amendment that we think is very important,” he said. “So I’m looking at this going fine, if people are going to put forward solutions about certifying maybe who can buy an assault weapon, I’m certainly open to that.” (Read more from “GOP Rep. By Yahoo News. A Fox News anchor broke rank with many of her colleagues Sunday by openly calling for gun law reform in the wake of the Buffalo, New York, and Uvalde mass shootings.

“As we’ve said before, prayers are not enough. We have to do something. We’ve got to get the lawmakers to do something,” Arthel Neville said as she covered President Joe Biden’s visit to a memorial in Uvalde for the 19 children and two teachers killed at an elementary school last week.

’Now, the president is, you know, the commander in chief. This is happening on his watch, but he needs the help of Congress to get something done.”

Neville’s guest, Fox News contributor Griff Jenkins, argued that Biden was not uniting Democrats and Republicans on the issue and noted that Biden also failed to do so as vice president after the 2012 Sandy Hook, Connecticut, school shooting. . .

“It’s more than that. It’s lawmakers who are stopping the unification. So let’s be clear about that. Yes, this is happening on his watch. Yes, he is responsible. Woman Shoots Would-Be Mass Shooter Dead After He Opened Fired at Graduation Party

Police in Charleston, West Virginia, are praising a woman who fatally shot a gunman who fired a rifle at dozens of graduation party attendees last week. . .

Investigators said Dennis Butler was warned Wednesday about speeding near the Vista View Apartment complex with children present before he departed and then returned with an AR-15-style rifle and began firing into the crowd, WCHS-TV reported.

Police said a bystander attending the party quickly pulled out her handgun and shot Butler, WOWK-TV reported.

Officers arriving at the scene around 10:45 p.m. found Butler with multiple gunshot wounds, WOWK reported, adding that he later died. Butler, 37, was from Charleston, the station added. . .

Horrifying Video Emerges of Man Who Attacked Texas Elementary School

A highly disturbing video has emerged showing the man who shot up a Texas Elementary School last week holding up a bag of blood-soaked dead cats.

The video shows the 18-year-old Latino shooter who murdered 19 children smiling while holding up the bag, according to video footage obtained by the New York Post, which was so graphic that the publication had to blur out the bag.

The Daily Wire is not showing the video or using the attacker’s name due to company policy about not giving those responsible for mass casualty events the notoriety that they crave.

The attacker “is seen smiling in the undated footage while sitting in the passenger seat of a pal’s car — holding up a clear plastic bag with at least two bloodied cats visible inside,” the New York Post reported. “The sicko was previously rumored to have had a fascination with dead cats and had threatened to kidnap, kill and rape girls who shunned him online.”

The arrest of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul, followed a late-night car crash, according to police.

Paul Pelosi, 82, was charged with driving under the influence on Sunday morning. At the time, the speaker’s husband was “driving a 2021 Porsche into an intersection near the town of Yountville and was hit by a 2014 Jeep,” the Associated Press reported. “No injuries were reported, and the 48-year-old driver of the Jeep was not arrested.”

Students at Campolino High School in California were reportedly given an invasive and inappropriate sex lesson which included questions about their anal sex and masturbation preferences.

In this worksheet, students were asked to rate their comfort level with anal sex. Presumably, these written responses were turned in by each student, so the school now has their anal sex preferences on file.

The Collapse Of Teen Mental Health — And Deadly Mass Shootings — Can Be Traced To One Single Trend

The start of the mental health crisis in the United States, particularly among young people, can be tied to an exact era in time: the advent of social media and smartphone technologies.

A review of key indicators of despair over time in the U.S. — including suicide rates, drug overdoses and reports of anxiety — shows that the intensification of America’s mental health decline coincides almost perfectly with the invention of smartphones and the popularization of social media. The number of mass shootings, especially those conducted by young males, also ticks up in the same time period.

The first iPhone was released in the United States in June 2007. Facebook was opened up to anyone aged 13 or over in 2006. Instagram launched in 2010, and the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 were released in 2005 and 2006, respectively. The mental health of teenagers and young adults has plummeted rapidly since the mid-2000’s, as screen time and social isolation have skyrocketed.

One key indicator is suicide rates. The crude rate of suicide in ages 15-24 tripled between 1950 and 1980, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), but then began to decline until the early 2000’s. That’s when it shot back up again. In 2000, the rate was 10.2 per 100,000. It remained relatively stable, ticking up slightly to 10.5 in 2010, before surging to 14.5 by 2017.

When the age range is expanded to 10-24, the trend is even more stark. “After stable trends from 2000 to 2007, suicide rates for persons aged 10–24 increased from 2007 (6.8 per 100,000 persons) to 2017 (10.6), while homicide rates declined from 2007 to 2014 and then increased through 2017,” a 2019 report from the National Center for Health Statistics reads. Scientists Make Huge 2,100-year-old Discovery In The Holy Land

Archeological researchers announced Wednesday that they have discovered a 2,100-year-old farmstead in Israel along with coins that may date back to the second century B.C.

Researchers at the site near Israel’s northern Sea of Galilee discovered the farmstead essentially “frozen in time” with many household items still intact, suggesting the homeowners may have left in a hurry when the site was abandoned, Live Science reported Friday. Most of the items remained where they were left by the former occupants, who possibly disappeared quickly due to a military invasion, the outlet continued.

“We were very lucky to discover a time-capsule, frozen in time, in which the finds remained where they were left by the occupants of the site,” archaeologist Amani Abu-Hamid said in a statement referenced by the outlet. “It seems that they left in haste in face of an impending danger, possibly the threat of a military attack.”

One theory on the former occupants is that they were members of the Seleucid Empire that fled their home in an effort to escape forces coming from the independent Hasmonean Kingdom based in Jerusalem, according to Live Science. Uvalde Shooter Entered Thru Unlocked Door; Mom Handcuffed for Urging Cops to Enter School; No Armed School Officer Despite Dem Claims

By Breitbart. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) revealed Thursday that the gunman who murdered 19 children and two teachers in Uvalde on Tuesday walked into the school through an unlocked door, and did not encounter any school police.

Previously, the media had been informed that the 18-year-old who carried out a mass shooting at the Robb Elementary School had been confronted by an armed school resource officer outside school, and had exchanged gunfire with him.

On Thursday, DPS Regional Director Victor Escalon told reporters that at 11:28 a.m. on Tuesday, after the gunman crashed a pickup truck near the school, he began his attack. The gunman climbed a four-foot-high chain link fence around the school, and fired at the school as he approached. He also fired at two eyewitnesses at a funeral home nearby. By 11:40 a.m., he had approached the west side of the school. He “was not confronted by anybody” outside the school, armed or otherwise.

Escalon added that there was no school resource officer on campus, and that the first report came to police at 11:30 a.m.

Though said it was still uncertain, it appeared that the shooter had entered the building through an unlocked door. He said that further investigation could reveal that the door was unlocked, but that at the moment it appeared to have been unlocked. Mom Briefly Handcuffed for Urging Cops to Enter School, Then Rushed in to Save Her Kids: Report

A mother of two students at Robb Elementary School, in Uvalde, Texas, alleged being briefly cuffed by U.S. Marshals on Tuesday after she urged officers to enter the school while an active shooter was still inside. After persuading her release, the mother said she hopped a fence and rushed into the school, sprinting back out after she grabbed her children.

An 18-year-old male, who will not be named per Daily Wire policy, killed at least 19 children and two adults at the elementary school on Tuesday.

“The police were doing nothing,” mother Angeli Rose Gomez accused, according to The Wall Street Journal. “They were just standing outside the fence. They weren’t going in there or running anywhere.”

Gomez, a farm supervisor, reportedly drove some 40 miles to the school after she learned her second- and third-grade children were at risk.

By Daily Caller. The mother of the 18-year-old allegedly responsible for the massacre at Robb Elementary School spoke out Wednesday about her son, claiming he was “not a violent person.”

Adriana Reyes admits that her son Salvador Ramos “kept to himself and didn’t have many friends,” but denies that he was a violent person, according to an interview with Daily Mail. She said she was “surprised” to learn her son was the Texas school shooter and claims to have had no idea he had legally purchased two AR-15 rifles, one of which he used in his attack on the innocent victims within the school.

“My son wasn’t a violent person. I’m surprised by what he did,” Reyes said, according to Daily Mail . .

Reyes went on to deny having a strained relationship with her son, and denied rumors that she had a drug addiction issue which led Ramos to live with his grandparents, according to Daily Mail.

“I had a good relationship with him,” Reyes said. SHOCKING: Responding Officers Did Not Shoot, Allowed Ramos to Enter School With AR-15

By The Independent UK. Chilling footage has surfaced of Salvador Ramos, 18, stalking around the outside of Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, while carrying a rifle just before he killed 19 children and two adults in a mass shooting.

Just before arriving at the school, Ramos had reportedly gotten into an argument with his grandmother. Those who knew Ramos said he was frequently bullied for a speech impediment and had such a bad relationship with his mother that the state moved him out of her house so he could live with his grandmother. . .

Ramos then took his grandmother’s car and crashed it outside Robb Elementary School, where he was later captured on video stalking around the building.

A bystander heard the crash and called 911. Responding police reportedly confronted but did not shoot Ramos, who opened fire and hit two officers. He then fled inside the school through a backdoor and barricaded himself in a classroom, where he killed 19 students and two adults. . .

First responders described the scene at the school as “chaos” as concerned parents rushed to the building to find their children. According to reports from the responders, some parents went so far as to smash school windows to try to help their children escape.
