Newton County Ordinance Gets National Attention

By KOAM News Now. Newton County is now in the national spotlight for an ordinance the commission passed back in February.

The website “Defy Tyrants” interviewed Newton County Commissioner David Osborn about the county’s “Second Amendment Preservation Act”. The ordinance is intended to provide protection against all federal acts, laws, orders, rules and regulations that infringe on second amendment rights to keep and bear arms. The act also provides for the Newton County Sheriff’s Office to arrest any federal agents trying to violate the ordinance. (Read more from “Newton County Ordinance Gets National Attention” HERE)

These State Lawmakers Voted Overwhelmingly to Eliminate Religious Exemption for Vaccinations

The Connecticut House of Representatives passed a contentious bill early Tuesday that would end the state’s long-standing religious exemption from immunization requirements for schools, beginning with the 2022 school year.

The 90-53 vote in the Democratic-controlled chamber came just before 3 a.m. after more than 16 hours of debate. The bill now heads to the Senate, which is also controlled by Democrats.

About a half-hour before approving the legislation, lawmakers passed an amendment that would allow students who are now exempt from immunizations because of religious reasons to continue to be exempt. Submarine Carrying Over 50 People Randomly Vanishes

By Associated Press. Indonesia’s navy is searching for a submarine that went missing north of the resort island of Bali with 53 people on board, the military said Wednesday.

The submarine is believed to have disappeared in waters about 60 miles (95 kilometers) north of Bali, he said. (Read more from “Submarine Carrying Over 50 People Randomly Vanishes” HERE)

UPDATE: One of History’s Worst Sub Disasters, Indonesia Declares Missing Vessel “Sunk”

By Peter Aitken. Indonesia’s navy declared Saturday that the missing submarine has most likely sunk, with no hope of finding survivors, after rescuers discovered several items believed to be from the vessel.

“With authentic evidence we found believe to be from the submarine, we have now moved from the ‘sub miss’ phase to ‘sub sunk,'” Margono said at a press conference in Bali, where the found items were displayed.

The items included parts of a torpedo straightener, a grease bottle believed to be used to oil the periscope and prayer rugs from the submarine. Officials said the oxygen supply for its 53 crew ran out early Saturday. . .

Family members of the crew had held out hope that the search effort would locate the vessel before the limited oxygen supply ran out, but Navy Chief Yudo Margono provided evidence that the Indonesian navy believes is irrefutable proof of a worst-case scenario.

“We keep doing the search until we find it and whatever the result,” Indonesia military spokesperson Djawara Whimbo said. (Read more from this story about the missing submarine HERE)

Derek Chauvin Found Guilty On All Charges; Here’s How Much Prison Time the Ex-Cop Faces; VP Harris Says That’s Not Enough

By NBC News. Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all counts Tuesday for his involvement in George Floyd’s death, a verdict that could send the disgraced former Minneapolis police officer to prison for the rest of his life.

Chauvin’s eyes darted left and right over his light blue surgical mask as Judge Peter Cahill read the jury’s verdict, but he betrayed little else in the way of emotion.

Chauvin, who was convicted of second- and third-degree murder, as well as second-degree manslaughter, stood up quickly after the judge ordered his bail revoked and compliantly placed his hands to be handcuffed before he was led out of the courtroom. He faces up to 75 years in prison when he returns for sentencing in eight weeks.

Outside the courthouse in downtown Minneapolis, which had been enclosed with razor wire, the crowd erupted into cheers when word of the verdict filtered out.

“All three counts! All three counts!” the crowd chanted as cars honked and people danced on the blocked off streets, some of them waving Black Lives Matter flags. (Read more from “Derek Chauvin Found Guilty On All Charges HERE)

Here’s How Much Prison Time the Ex-Cop Faces

By New York Post. Derek Chauvin faces a maximum of 40 years in prison following his conviction Tuesday for killing George Floyd during a botched arrest in Minneapolis.

He could get up to four decades behind bars for the top count of second-degree murder. The second count of of third degree murder carries a penalty of up to 25 years, but he will only be sentenced on the top count as per state law, said Samuel McCloud, who has practiced criminal law in Minnesota for 44 years.

The third count he was convicted of, second-degree manslaughter, carries a 10-year maximum — but he also will not face sentencing on that count as per state law, McCloud said.

While second-degree murder carries a “statutory maximum” of 40 years in the state, Chauvin will likely face far less time when he is sentenced, as per state sentencing guidelines. (Read more from “Here’s How Much Prison Time the Ex-Cop Faces” HERE)

Kamala Harris Says Guilty Verdict for Derek Chauvin Isn’t Enough

By The Federalist. Vice President Kamala Harris said that while the jury in former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin’s trial may have found him guilty of murdering George Floyd, their verdict is not enough to “heal the pain that existed for generations.”

“Let’s say there is a guilty verdict on the highest charge, it will not take away the pain of the Floyd family. It will not take away the pain of the communities, all communities, regardless of their color or geographic location, that felt sadness and anger in what they witnessed in that video,” Harris told CNN on Tuesday shortly before Chauvin was convicted on all charges.

While Harris signaled that the “consequence and accountability” for Chauvin is a step in the right direction, she continued to spout off why judicial justice won’t remedy the “pain” caused by years of what she has previously called rogue policing.

“This verdict is but a piece of it and it will not heal the pain that existed for generations, that has existed for generations among people who have experienced and first-hand witnessed what now a broader public is seeing because of smartphones and the ubiquity of our ability to videotape in real-time what is happening in front of our faces. And that is the reality of it,” Harris continued.

Is Herpes a Possible Side Effect of the COVID Vaccine? (VIDEO)

Herpes infections may be a side effect of a COVID-19 vaccine, experts have revealed.

Scientists in Israel identified six cases in a new study of patients developing a skin rash known as herpes zoster — or shingles — after receiving the Pfizer vaccine, according to a study in the Rheumatology journal.

Herpes zoster starts off as a small, itchy skin rash, but if left untreated, it could cause nerve damage and pain, the Jerusalem Post reported.

This can include a prolonged burning sensation on the skin even after the rash disappears.

Researchers from Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center and Carmel Medical Center in Haifa found those with autoimmune inflammatory rheumatic diseases had a higher risk of developing the herpes infection.

Unarmed Marine Tased in Front of Hospitalized Daughter by Out-of-Control Cops

Shocking video that has gone viral shows Marine veteran Carl E. Andersen Jr. being tased twice and dragged away by a sheriff’s deputy and police officers while he was in the hospital room of his 19-month-old daughter.

On April 17, 2019, Andersen’s daughter Charlotte was severely injured when his fiancé Carissa Hiteshew, who was five-months pregnant with his son at the time, accidentally struck her with a car, Andersen said. While his daughter’s injuries were not life-threatening, she suffered a crack in her skull that was serious, so she needed to be taken to an intensive care unit.

The infant girl was being treated in intensive care in Colorado Springs when a plain-clothes detective from the Teller County’s sheriff’s department entered her hospital room and demanded that both Anderson and Hiteshew hand over their phones without explaining why, Anderson said. When Andersen refused, the deputy came back with three officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department who were determined to get the phones through force, he said.

“When they walked into the room, it sort of felt like I was getting ready to go on patrol in Afghanistan,” Andersen told Task & Purpose. “I had just had this deep-seated feeling of: Well something is about to happen here and it’s not going to be good.” . . .

He has filed a lawsuit against the city of Colorado Springs, Teller County, and the four officers involved in the altercation in his daughter’s hospital room. Representatives from Teller County and the Colorado Springs Police Department declined to comment for this story, citing the ongoing litigation. Judge In Chauvin Case Rips Maxine Waters: ‘Disrespectful To The Rule Of Law … Abhorrent’; Pelosi DEFENDS Congresswoman’s Disturbing Comments; WH: Protesting Injustice ‘Most American Thing Anyone Can Do’

By Breitbart. Judge Peter Cahill blasted Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) on Monday for her remarks Saturday that there should be unrest if the jury fails to convict Derek Chauvin in the death of George Floyd in Hennepin County, Minnesota. . .

“I’ll give you that Congresswoman Waters may have given you something on appeal that may result in this whole trial being overturned,” he said, later adding:

I’m aware of the media reports, I’m aware that Congresswoman Waters was talking specifically about this trial, and about the unacceptability of anything less than a murder conviction, talked about being confrontational — but you can submit the press articles about that. This goes back to what I’ve been saying from the beginning. I wish elected officials would stop talking about this case, especially in a manner that is disrespectful to the rule of law,, and to the judicial branch and our function. I think if they want to give their opinions, they should do so in a respectful, and in a manner that is respectful to the Constitution, to respect the co-equal branch of government. Their failure to do so, I think, is abhorrent, but I don’t think it has prejudiced this, with additional material that would prejudice this jury. … A congresswoman’s opinion really doesn’t matter a whole lot.

She added that Biden wanted the protests to remain peaceful.

‘Fear Is Being Used To Control You’: Major Protest Rips Masks, Vaccines (VIDEO)

By WND. As Americans grow weary of the coronavirus pandemic, sentiments against mandated mask-wearing and vaccines continue to be unfurled.

One recent event featured hundreds of people burning face masks and voicing opposition to COVID-19 shots as they marched at Las Olas Beach, the Highway A1A hotspot made famous during spring break over the years in Fort Lauderdale.

The April 10 protest was billed as the “Million Maskless March,” and the crowd was estimated to be between 200 and 500.

“We are done with it. We are saying, ‘No more masks!'” activist Steven Hoffman told Daniel Varela, a videographer for the Miami Herald. “We are not going to take it anymore. It has become a symbol of tyranny and oppression on the people.”

Utah Governor Defends Racism as Long as It’s Against White Kids

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox defended racism against white kids during a question and answer session with constituents on Thursday.

During the session, live-tweeted by the governor’s official Twitter account, one Utah citizen asked “if it’s racist that the Utah Jazz excludes white children from the team’s scholarship program.”

The program created by the NBA team allots a scholarship to a new “underrepresented student of color enrolling as a freshman for the 2021-22 school year” for every team win during the 2020-21 season basketball season. To qualify for the funds, students must have graduated from high school and be a “person of color.” Since the program’s start, the team has handed out nearly 50 full-ride scholarships to black and minority students only.

Despite the team’s deliberate exclusion of white students from the program, Cox said the scholarship requirements are not racist.

“It’s not racist. Ryan Smith and the Jazz can do what they want with their funds. All kids should have equal opportunities, and we’re proud of the Jazz,” he replied.

WATCH: Man Chucks Bobcat That Attacked His Wife in Viral Video

A man in a suburban neighborhood sprung into action, grabbed an aggressive bobcat, and threw it across his lawn after the animal attacked his wife.

The footage, which appeared to be captured on a home security camera, showed the man saying “good morning” to a neighbor and remarking that he needed to wash his car before a shriek and a growl can be heard. Within seconds, a bobcat attacks the man’s wife, who is carrying a pet cage, as she yells for her husband, “Rodney! Rodney!”

More shouting can be heard before the man hoists the wild animal above his head and says, “Oh my god. It’s a bobcat!” at a passerby. He then chucks the angry cat across his lawn, but the animal recovers and runs straight toward Rodney’s wife as he yells, “Lindsey!” to alert her of another assault.
