Who Won the First Presidential Debate? Experts Grade Trump-Biden Mess; Joe Biden Denies Antifa Organizations Exist

By New York Post. President Donald Trump and his Democratic challenger, Joe Biden, spent more than an hour during the first presidential debate in Cleveland, Ohio, brawling over how best to manage the deadly coronavirus crisis, taxes, climate change, and a host of other domestic policy issues. . .

“Both landed some shots. Both interrupted too much and acted like children,” said Matt Mackowiak, a longtime Republican strategist, podcast host and chairman of the local Republican Party in Austin, Texas.

Another election night analyst for The Post, Liz Benjamin, is no stranger to rough-and-tumble politics. But this veteran of Albany — who covered it as a reporter, columnist and as the former longtime anchor of Capital Tonight before becoming a communications consultant — called it a “wash.” . . .

But longtime Staten Island Republican political strategist Leticia Remauro gave Trump a slight edge.

“Trump by a hair. He was forceful and solidified his base but loses points for interrupting,” wrote Remauro, a regular on New York 1’s ‘Inside City Hall’ who ran public relations for the Battery Park City Authority in the aftermath of the Sept. 11th terror attacks. Joe Biden Denies Antifa Organizations Exist

By Townhall. Former Democratic Vice President Joe Biden denied the existence of organized Antifa groups during the first presidential debate in Cleveland, Ohio on Tuesday.

Fox News anchor Chris Wallace had asked President Trump if he was willing “to condemn white supremacists and militia groups, and to say that they need to stand down and not add to the violence in a number of these cities, as we saw in Kenosha and as we’ve seen in Portland?”

“Sure, I’m willing to do that. I would say almost everything I see is from the left-wing, not from the right-wing,” Trump replied, telling the Proud Boys to “stand back and stand by.”

“But I tell you what, somebody has got to do something about Antifa and the left because this is not a right-wing problem, this is a left-wing problem,” Trump added.

“Antifa is an idea, not an organization, that’s what his FBI director said,” Biden replied. (Read more from “Joe Biden Denies Antifa Organizations Exist” HERE)

WATCH: Woman Who Went Missing 2 Years Ago Discovered Alive at Sea

In a survival saga for the ages, a Colombian woman who had fallen off the grid two years ago was miraculously discovered alive at sea by flabbergasted fishermen. Video of her dramatic rescue has since gone viral online.

“Thank God I was alive,” said Angelica Gaitan, 46, who was found Saturday by Roland Visbal while floating 1.2 miles off of Puerto Colombia.

In the stunning footage shot by her rescuer, Visbal and a friend named Gustavo can be seen maneuvering their vessel toward the suspended woman, who appears unresponsive. In fact, they initially mistook Gaitan for a piece of driftwood until she raised her hands to signal for help, the Sun reported.

The valiant duo is heard in the clip trying to get the waterlogged woman’s attention by calling out in both Spanish and English. Unfortunately, Gaitan is unable to reply, with subsequent reports stating that she suffered from exhaustion and hypothermia, having been adrift for eight hours.

This College Considered Best in the Nation for Free Speech, and Here’s What Ranked Last

A newly compiled list of free speech on college campuses found that the University of Chicago is considered the best campus for free speech in America while DePauw University ranks last.

The 2020 report, “What’s the Climate for Free Speech on America’s College Campuses?” was published Tuesday. The first-of-its-kind, interactive, online tool pulled data from nearly 20,000 students to rank the best and worst schools for free speech and open discourse at 55 U.S. institutions.

The ratings factored in dimensions of free expression on campuses and looked at the ability to discuss challenging topics like race, gender and geopolitical conflicts, as well as polling students on whether they feel held back from openly sharing their views.

The schools are ranked on a scale from 0-100. The University of Chicago received a 64 while Indiana’s DePauw came in at 44.

“A university should be a lively marketplace of ideas – a place where different beliefs and opinions can be discussed, analyzed and challenged with widest possible freedom,” Nathan Harden, editor of RealClearEducation, said in a written statement. New York Times Debunks Several Conspiracy Theories With Trump’s Tax Returns

By Breitbart. The New York Times‘ exposé on Donald Trump’s tax returns suggests that the president has suffered financial losses for many years, resulting in many years when he paid little or no federal income tax. . .

Russia. The Times found no evidence of any links to Russia that were previously unreported. The tax returns, it says, do not “reveal any previously unreported connections to Russia.” All they show is that the 201 Miss Universe pageant in Moscow was “was the most profitable Miss Universe during Mr. Trump’s time as co-owner, and that it generated a personal payday of $2.3 million.” That’s all there is to the vast Russian business interests Democrats hinted (and hoped) the returns would show.

Michael Cohen. Prosecutors in New York have subpoenaed the tax returns for a criminal investigation — most likely, having to do with payments via Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen (now a convicted felon), to alleged lovers (including Stormy Daniels). The Times noted: “The materials obtained by The Times did not include any itemized payments to Mr. Cohen.” It added: “The amount, however, could have been improperly included in legal fees written off as a business expense.” That’s it.

The Audit. Democrats and journalists have mocked Trump’s long-standing claim that he could not release his tax returns because he faced an Internal Revenue Service audit. The Times confirmed the audit: “Also hanging over him is a decade-long audit battle with the Internal Revenue Service over the legitimacy of a $72.9 million tax refund that he claimed, and received, after declaring huge losses. An adverse ruling could cost him more than $100 million.” It is real, just as Trump has claimed. (Read more from “New York Times Debunks Several Conspiracy Theories With Trump’s Tax Returns” HERE)

Trump Lashes Out at New York Times Report Alleging Years of Tax Avoidance

By NBC News. The New York Times obtained two decades of President Donald Trump’s tax information, reporting Sunday that the president paid only $750 in federal income taxes the year he won the presidency and again during his first year in office. . .

Trump said Sunday that the story was “totally fake news” and “made up,” although he acknowledged that he “didn’t know anything about the story” ahead of its publication, which came moments before his news conference began.

Asked about the report that he paid just $750 in federal income tax in 2016 and again in 2017, Trump said he has “paid a lot of money in state” taxes, although he was not specific about how much. (Read more from “Trump Lashes Out at New York Times Report Alleging Years of Tax Avoidance” HERE)

Ilhan Omar Reportedly Orchestrating an Illegal Widespread Vote-Harvesting Scheme; Trump Calls for Investigation

By The Federalist. Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar is reportedly orchestrating an illegal widespread vote-harvesting scheme in Minneapolis and exploiting the city’s Somali immigrant community, according to the conservative investigative watch-dog group Project Veritas.

In a 17-minute video expose, the group features Minneapolis City Councilman Jamal Osman’s brother, Libal Mohamed, incriminating himself on Snapchat videos showing ballots piled up in the dashboard of his car.

“Just today we got 300 for Jamal Osman,” Mohamed brags. “I have 300 ballots in my car right now… Numbers don’t lie. You can see my car is full. All of these here are absentee ballots.”

While “Ballot harvesting,” is illegal in most states, Minnesota allows third parties to collect up to three ballots for voting individuals, far fewer than the 300 shown in Mohamed’s car.

Omar Jamal, a whistleblower on the corrupt scheme who spoke to Project Veritas, told the group of Ilhan Omar’s alleged involvement, calling the entire operation an “open secret” in the community. Trump Calls for Investigation Into Rep. Omar Over ‘Ballot Harvesting’ Claims

By New York Post. President Trump has called for an investigation into Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar for alleged “ballot harvesting” in Minnesota.

“This is totally illegal. Hope that the U.S. Attorney in Minnesota has this, and other of her many misdeeds, under serious review??? If not, why not???,” the president tweeted early Monday.

“We will win Minnesota because of her, and law enforcement. Saved Minneapolis & Iron O Range!,” he continued.

The president was referring to a report from Project Veritas that implicates progressive “Squad” member Omar in an alleged cash-for-ballots scheme to gather absentee ballots illegally from Somali immigrants. . .

“Ballot harvesting” is illegal in most states, and Minnesota law allows a third party to collect no more than three ballots. (Read more from “Trump Calls for Investigation Into Rep. Omar Over ‘Ballot Harvesting’ Claims” HERE)

Trump’s New SCOTUS Pick Just Received an Unlikely Endorsement

. . .[T]he LA Times even had an editorial saying that ACB is qualified but shouldn’t be confirmed. We’re going to enter some silliness here, but ACB got an endorsement from an unlikely source: Noah Feldman. Mr. Feldman is a Harvard Law professor who backed the impeachment of Donald Trump. Feldman spoke highly of Barrett, noting her brilliance as a legal scholar, even though he disagrees with her on almost everything. Even still, she deserves to be on the Court (via Bloomberg):

…here I want to be extremely clear. Regardless of what you or I may think of the circumstances of this nomination, Barrett is highly qualified to serve on the Supreme Court.

I disagree with much of her judicial philosophy and expect to disagree with many, maybe even most of her future votes and opinions. Yet despite this disagreement, I know her to be a brilliant and conscientious lawyer who will analyze and decide cases in good faith, applying the jurisprudential principles to which she is committed. Those are the basic criteria for being a good justice. Barrett meets and exceeds them.

I got to know Barrett more than 20 years ago when we clerked at the Supreme Court during the 1998-99 term. Of the thirty-some clerks that year, all of whom had graduated at the top of their law school classes and done prestigious appellate clerkships before coming to work at the court, Barrett stood out. Measured subjectively and unscientifically by pure legal acumen, she was one of the two strongest lawyers. The other was Jenny Martinez, now dean of the Stanford Law School.

[…]

Barrett, a textualist who was working for a textualist, Justice Antonin Scalia, had the ability to bring logic and order to disorder and complexity. You can’t be a good textualist without that, since textualism insists that the law can be understood without reference to legislative history or the aims and context of the statute.

Whoops: Once Again, Joe Biden Says Anything That Appears on the Teleprompter (VIDEO)

Like Anchorman’s Ron Burgundy, Joe Biden will apparently read anything that’s on the teleprompter, which doesn’t bode well for the 77-year-old feeble candidate who relies on teleprompters for just about everything these days. On Saturday, during another scripted appearance, the career politician claimed he served in the U.S. Senate for 180 years. But it’s a good thing Biden wasn’t in the Senate that long because he’d probably have some pro-slavery votes to explain away, what with being a Democrat and all. . .

This must be why Kamala Harris refers to a potential Joe Biden presidency as the “Harris administration together with Joe Biden as president of the United States.” (Read more from “Whoops: Once Again, Joe Biden Says Anything That Appears on the Teleprompter (VIDEO)” HERE)

Trump to Nominate Amy Coney Barrett to Supreme Court, Dems Launch Smear Attacks on Her Adopted Children

By CBS News. President Trump is expected to nominate Judge Amy Coney Barrett to replace the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the U.S. Supreme Court, CBS News has confirmed, according to multiple sources involved in or familiar with the selection process.

It’s possible Mr. Trump could change his mind, but at this point, Barrett is expected to be announced as the president’s choice Saturday afternoon at the White House.

The White House has begun reaching out to Republican Senate offices to schedule meetings with the Supreme Court nominee to take place next week, starting Wednesday morning, according to two sources familiar with the planning. The Senate will be out Monday and Tuesday for Yom Kippur.

She has been a leading candidate and was a finalist to be Mr. Trump’s second Supreme Court pick. Barrett met with the president at the White House on Monday. CNN first reported that the president intends to announce Barrett as his pick. . .

If confirmed, Barrett, who serves on the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, would be Mr. Trump’s third Supreme Court appointee, following Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, and just the fifth woman to serve on the high court. With her ascension to the Supreme Court, Barrett would further solidify its conservative majority, widening it to 6-3 and diluting the power of Chief Justice John Roberts as a swing vote. Democrats Launch Smear Attacks on Amy Coney Barrett’s Adopted Children

By Breitbart. Democrats began smearing Judge Amy Coney Barrett on Friday night before President Donald Trump even nominated her to become the next Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, which he is expected to do on Saturday afternoon.

Dana Houle, a Democrat activist who was once a chief of staff on Capitol Hill to a Democrat lawmaker, tweeted Friday night that he hopes Barrett is investigated over the children she and her husband adopted from Haiti. “I would love to know which adoption agency Amy Coney Barrett & her husband used to adopt the two children they brought here from Haiti,” Houle wrote.

“So here’s a Q: Does the press even investigate details of Barrett’s adoptions from Haiti?” Houle wrote in a follow-up tweet. “Some adoptions from Haiti were legit. Many were sketchy as hell. And if the press learned they were unethical & maybe illegal adoptions, would they report it? Or not bc it involves her children”

In a third follow-up tweet, Houle added: “Would it matter if her kids were scooped up by ultra-religious Americans, or Americans weren’t scrupulous intermediaries & the kids were taken when there was family in Haiti? I dunno. I think it does, but maybe it doesn’t, or shouldn’t.”

WATCH: Explosive Video Surfaces of Joe Biden Calling Troops ‘Stupid B——-‘ During Speech to Service Members

A video surfaced on social media Friday of presidential candidate Joe Biden speaking in front of U.S. service members and appearing to call them “stupid bastards.”

“I have incredibly good judgment,” Biden says in the video. “One, I married Jill, and two, I appointed Johnson to the academy. I just want you to know that. Clap for that, you stupid bastards,” in a seemingly sarcastic tone.

Biden then appeared to say that the soldiers “must be slow” and called them “a dull bunch.”

During the same speech, Biden praised the troops, saying, “You’re the finest generation of warriors the world has ever, ever known. Thank you very, very, very much.”

A video of the speech posted in January of 2017 on YouTube is accompanied by the caption “Vice President Joe Biden, recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom calls A room full of servicemen and servicewomen at an undisclosed location in southwest Asia stupid bastards in March 2016. A real class act.” (Read more from “Explosive Video Surfaces of Joe Biden Calling Troops ‘Stupid B——-‘ During Speech to Service Members” HERE)

Explosive New FBI Texts Detail Internal Furor Over Handling Of ‘Crossfire Hurricane’ Investigation

By The Federalist. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents tasked by fired former Director James Comey to take down Donald Trump during and after the 2016 election were so concerned about the agency’s potentially illegal behavior that they purchased liability insurance to protect themselves less than two weeks before Trump was inaugurated president, previously hidden FBI text messages show. The explosive new communications and internal FBI notes were disclosed in federal court filings today from Sidney Powell, the attorney who heads Michael Flynn’s legal defense team.

“[W]e all went and purchased professional liability insurance,” one agent texted on Jan. 10, 2017, the same day CNN leaked details that then-President-elect Trump had been briefed by Comey about the bogus Christopher Steele dossier. That briefing of Trump was used as a pretext to legitimize the debunked dossier, which was funded by the Democratic National Committee and the Clinton campaign and compiled by a foreign intelligence officer who was working for a sanctioned Russian oligarch. . .

While the names of the agents responsible for the texts are redacted, the legal filing from Powell, quoting communications from the Department of Justice (DOJ), states that the latest document production included handwritten notes and texts from Peter Strzok, Andrew McCabe, Lisa Page, and FBI analysts who worked on the FBI’s investigation of Flynn.

Agents also said they were worried about how a new attorney general might view the actions taken against Trump during the investigation. Shortly after then-Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) was confirmed to be Trump’s new attorney general, congressional Democrats, media, and Obama holdovers within DOJ immediately moved to force Sessions to recuse himself from overseeing the department’s investigations against Trump.

“[T]he new AG might have some questions….then yada yada yada…we all get screwed,” one agent wrote. (Read more from “Predicted Mass Infections From Reopening Schools Fails to Materialize” HERE)

‘Source’ of anti-Trump Steele dossier investigated for Russia contacts: Barr

By Fox News. The primary “source” of the anti-Trump dossier authored by ex-British intelligence agent Christopher Steele was the subject of an FBI counterintelligence investigation from 2009 to 2011 for suspected contact with Russian intelligence officers, Fox News has learned.

Attorney General Bill Barr penned a letter to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., on Thursday responding to requests as part of the panel’s review into the origins of the Russia probe.

“In connection with your Committee’s investigation of these matters and ongoing hearings, you have been asking us to accelerate this process and to provide any additional information relating to the reliability of the work of Christopher Steele and the so-called ‘Steele dossier,’ as long as its release would not compromise U.S. Attorney John Durham’s ongoing criminal investigation,” Barr wrote.

“A footnote in the Inspector General’s report contains information, which up till now has been classified and redacted, bearing on the reliability of the Steele dossier,” Barr wrote. “The FBI has declassified the relevant portion of the footnote, number 334, which states that ‘the Primary Sub-source was the subject of an FBI counterintelligence investigation from 2009 to 2011 that assessed his or her contacts with suspected Russian intelligence officers.'”

Barr added that at his request, the FBI has prepared a declassified summary of certain information from the counterintelligence investigation into the source, which he has shared with the committee.
