Kyle Rittenhouse Lawyers Claim Self-Defense

Lawyers for Kyle Rittenhouse, the 17-year-old who allegedly shot three and killed two people during a riot in Kenosha, Wisconsin, this week, issued a lengthy statement Friday evening after delaying his extradition from Illinois to face trial for murder.

“Kyle did nothing wrong,” attorney John Pierce of Pierce Bainbridge wrote. “He exercised his God-given, Constitutional, common law and statutory law right to self-defense.”

Rittenhouse was charged Thursday with six criminal counts — including two counts of first-degree murder. One of the two charges carries a potential sentence of life imprisonment. . .

In the first case, a man had allegedly pursued him, thrown an object at him, and attempted to seize his weapon. In the second case, several people had allegedly chased him; one had allegedly struck him with a skateboard; and another had allegedly approached him with a firearm.

Later, Pierce wrote, Rittenhouse was “accosted by multiple rioters who recognized that he had been attempting to protect a business the mob wanted to destroy.” That, he said, led to the violent confrontations that followed. (Read more from “Kyle Rittenhouse Lawyers Claim Self-Defense” HERE)

What We Know About CNN Host Chris Cuomo’s ‘Shocking’ Conversation With Michael Cohen

Fox News host Tucker Carlson told his audience on Friday that next week he intends to share details of a conversation that former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen secretly tape-recorded with CNN’s Chris Cuomo.

This tape is one of many that have been “floating around” for some time but have never aired publicly, Carlson said before noting with a chortle that Cuomo, who is the brother of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, was captured on at least one of them.

“Cohen and the governor’s brother had a pretty shocking conversation. Bottom line, Chris Cuomo is not the person he pretends to be on CNN. And there is more. This is a developing story. We’ll have all of it for you next week. Tune in,” Carlson said as video played of Cuomo lifting weights at a gym.

Although the tape has yet to leak publicly, Cuomo was pressed to talk about it in the summer of 2018 after the FBI seized materials from Cohen, who later that year pleaded guilty to charges of tax fraud, bank fraud, and campaign finance violations for hush-money payments to two women during the 2016 campaign who claimed to have had affairs with President Trump. Trump has denied those relationships.

On July 24, Cuomo played on his show, Cuomo Prime Time, a recorded conversation between Trump and Cohen about buying the rights to former Playboy model Karen McDougal’s story about her alleged affair with Trump. Vicious 2021 Cold Blast Prediction for This Part of the Country

. . .The Farmers’ Almanac recently released its extended forecast for the 2020-2021 season, which shows this upcoming winter could be brutally cold and snowy for much of the country.

“Based on our time-tested weather formula, the forecast for the upcoming winter looks a lot different from last year, quite divided with some very intense cold snaps and snowfall,” editor Peter Geiger said in a statement.

According to the forecast, those who live in the northern half of the country should get ready for extended bouts of cold.

Long-range forecasts from the periodical are calling for normal to below-normal temperatures in areas from the Great Lakes and Midwest stretching westward over the Northern and Central Plains and into the Rockies.

Areas around the Great Lakes are also expected to see a “fair share of snow,” but above-normal snowfall is also expected farther west from the western Dakotas into northern portions of Colorado and Utah, as well as Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and central and eastern sections of Washington and Oregon. WATCH: Trump Lit up the Skies (And the Right) While the Streets Raged — and Remade Conventions Forever

By The Federalist. The most impressive political fireworks display most will recall ever seeing on their TV sets finished President Donald Trump’s address at the close of the four-day Republican National Convention Thursday evening, wrapping up the party’s rallies, energizing the president’s supporters, and changing the convention genre forever.

Just one week after a physically isolated, professionally awkward, and visually timid Democratic National Convention finale featured Joe and Jill Biden walking down an empty hallway to a cute fireworks display while socially distanced cars honked their horns in a Delaware parking lot, the Washington sky was alight and a live concert played while hundreds of attendees applauded on the White House’s South Lawn.

The president’s speech began and finished with American history, distilling the platform he ran on and the accomplishments of his administration into an hour-long address focused on “Promises Made, Promises Kept.” Its themes included industry and fairer trade deals versus outsourcing and China; law and order and police versus lawlessness, murder, and defund movements; and late-term abortion versus the innocent unborn and a moral America.

Characterizing former Vice President Biden as a weak betrayer of the American worker, the president said, “For 47 years, Joe Biden took the donations of blue-collar workers, gave them hugs and,” drawing laughter, “even kisses… And told them he felt their pain – and then he flew back to Washington and voted to ship their jobs to China and many other distant lands.” (Read more from “Trump Lit up the Skies (And the Right) While the Streets Raged — and Remade Conventions Forever” HERE)

Trump Campaign Rakes in $76 Million During Republican National Convention

By Fox News. The Trump campaign, the Republican National Committee and their joint-fundraising committees raked in $76 million during the 2020 Republican National Convention this week, Fox News has learned.

A senior Trump campaign official told Fox News that the campaign, the RNC, and Trump Victory and Trump MAGAC (Make America Great Again Committee) raised $76 million between the kick-off to the convention Monday and President Trump’s formal nomination acceptance Thursday night.

The Trump campaign’s efforts exceeded those of the Biden campaign.

Last week, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s campaign announced that it, the Democratic National Committee, and their joint fundraising committees brought in $70 million in fundraising during the 4-day Democratic convention. The Biden campaign held numerous grassroots and high-dollar fundraising events throughout the week. (Read more from “Trump Campaign Rakes in $76 Million During Republican National Convention” HERE)

Trump to Consider Invoking ‘Insurrection’ Law After Demonstrators Attack Rand Paul Outside W.H.

President Trump said Friday night he’s considering invoking the Insurrection Act of 1807 to deal with violent street protesters after Black Lives Matter activists attacked and harassed his supporters leaving the White House after the Republican National Convention.

At his first post-convention campaign rally, Mr. Trump told supporters in Manchester, New Hampshire, that “thugs” outside the White House attacked Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky and others after they left his acceptance speech on the South Lawn early Friday morning.

“They took tremendous abuse,” Mr. Trump said. “Rand Paul was in big trouble last night. He’s a friend of mine. They walk out and they get accosted and they get abused. They get spit on. It’s a disgrace.”

The president said Mr. Paul “would be in either very bad shape or dead … and that would include his wife” if D.C. police hadn’t intervened.

He blamed Washington, D.C., Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser for allowing the “anarchists” to get close to the White House and vowed, “We’re not going to allow that to happen.” (Read more from “Trump to Consider Invoking ‘Insurrection’ Law After Demonstrators Attack Rand Paul Outside W.H.” HERE)

Trump Lands Major Endorsements From Democrat Mayors in Minnesota

A number of Democrat mayors from Minnesota endorsed President Donald Trump for a second term on Friday as Vice President Mike Pence campaigns in the state.

“Like many in our region, we have voted for Democrats over many decades. We have watched as our constituents’ jobs left not only the Iron Range, but our country. By putting tariffs on our products and supporting bad trade deals, politicians like Joe Biden did nothing to help the working class. We lost thousands of jobs, and generations of young people have left the Iron Range in order to provide for their families with good-paying jobs elsewhere. Today, we don’t recognize the Democratic Party. It has been moved so far to the left it can no longer claim to be advocates of the working class. The hard-working Minnesotans that built their lives and supported their families here on the Range have been abandoned by radical Democrats. We didn’t choose to leave the Democratic Party, the party left us,” the letter, signed by Virginia Mayor Larry Cuffe, Chisholm Mayor John Champa, Ely Mayor Chuck Novak, Two Harbors Mayor Chris Swanson, Eveleth Mayor Robert Vlaisavljevich and Babbitt Mayor Andrea Zupancich, states.

C-SPAN Had So Many Democrats Calling in Support for Trump That They Had to Change Their Protocol

C-SPAN changed their open phone line labels after an overwhelming number of Democratic viewers called on Wednesday night proclaiming their support for President Donald Trump in the upcoming election.

“I’m a longtime Democrat, born and raised … After watching tonight … I have made up my mind. I am definitely gonna vote for Donald Trump,” said one of the many voters who dialed in.

Before the Republican National Convention, C-SPAN’s open phone lines were labeled as open for “Democrats,” “Republicans,” and “Other” viewers to call into and share their opinions on-air. After Trump’s acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention, however, C-SPAN received an influx of callers who identified as Democrat but said they would be voting for Trump in November.

Due to the increasing nature of these calls, the network adjusted the phone lines to encompass those who “Support Trump,” “Support Biden,” and “Support Others.”

While polling about the effect Trump’s speech on voters is not out yet, many of the callers who dialed in expressed their frustration with the Democratic Party as well as the Democratic National Convention. President Trump Uses White House Stage to Attack Biden; WATCH: Chaos Erupts Outside White House at Trump’s RNC Speech

By Washington Examiner. Four years ago, Donald Trump accepted the Republican nomination for president by offering himself as the only figure capable of fixing a broken, demoralized country.

On Thursday night, in front of about 1,500 supporters at the White House, he offered himself as the bulwark against the chaos and disorder threatening his vision of America.

“Your vote will decide whether we protect law-abiding Americans or whether we give free rein to violent anarchists, agitators, and criminals who threaten our citizens,” he said. “And this election will decide whether we will defend the American way of life or whether we allow a radical movement to completely dismantle and destroy it.”

He delivered his remarks from a flag-festooned stage on the South Lawn of the White House. The floodlit building behind him made for a majestic setting, but it brought accusations that he was exploiting the “People’s House” for political purposes in a breach of ethics regulations. . .

“Joe Biden is not the savior of America’s soul — he is the destroyer of America’s jobs, and if given the chance, he will be the destroyer of American greatness,” he said. (Read more from “President Trump Uses White House Stage to Attack Biden” HERE)

Fireworks Spell Out ‘Trump,’ ‘2020’ Over Washington Monument at Close of GOP Convention

By Fox News. Fireworks spelling out “Trump” and “2020” illuminated the sky over the Washington Monument Thursday night at the conclusion of President Trump’s formal nomination acceptance speech during the final day of the 2020 Republican National Convention.

The firework display lined up with the end of the president’s speech, Thursday night.

The fireworks spelled out “Trump” and “2020” in red, white and blue over the Washington Monument.

The Republican National Committee filed a permit to the National Mall and Memorial Parks for the aerial fireworks display last week to commemorate the president’s acceptance and the final day of their convention. Bette Midler Responds to Backlash After Calling Melania Trump an ‘Illegal Alien’ Who ‘Can’t Speak English’

Bette Midler addressed her controversial tweets about First Lady Melania Trump on Wednesday.

Midler took aim at President Donald Trump’s wife during the second night of the Republican National Convention on Tuesday. While live tweeting the First Lady’s speech, the 74-year-old entertainer called Melania an “illegal alien” who “can’t speak English” (among other jabs). While Midler was initially unapologetic, it appears she had a change of heart.

“I was wrong to make fun of her accent. America is made up people who speak with all kinds of accents, and they are all welcomed always,” the Hocus Pocus star tweeted on Wednesday.

Midler faced backlash for several tweets about the First Lady. “She can speak several words in a few languages,” the actress wrote. “Get that illegal alien off the stage!”

The singer called Melania an “awful person” who “still can’t speak English.”

Scientists Determine That the Earth’s Core Is Four-Times Younger Than Previously Thought; Evolutionary Timeline Impossible

By BGR. In a new paper published in the American Physical Society’s Physical Review Letters, researchers explain that, after experimenting with recreating the conditions of the core for years, they believe Earth’s core is quite a bit younger than previously thought. They now say that the core is likely somewhere between 1 billion and 1.3 billion years old. . .

Based on all the data they have at this point, the researchers are placing their estimate on the extreme lower end of the spectrum (1 billion to 1.3 billion years), whereas past estimates have suggested the core may be as old as over 4 billion years. Understanding the forces that formed our planet and are allowing us to maintain an existence here are obviously very important and could help us to better grasp how life could be possible on other worlds. National Science Foundations Dramatically Revise Age of Earth’s Core

By UT News. By creating conditions akin to the center of the Earth inside a laboratory chamber, researchers have improved the estimate of the age of our planet’s solid inner core, putting it at 1 billion to 1.3 billion years old. . .

The Earth’s core is made mostly of iron, with the inner core being solid and the outer core being liquid. The effectiveness of the iron in transferring heat through conduction — known as thermal conductivity — is key to determining a number of other attributes about the core, including when the inner core formed. . .

The National Science Foundation and the National Natural Science Foundation of China supported the research. (Read more from “National Science Foundations Dramatically Revise Age of Earth’s Core” HERE)

The Mathematical Impossibility of Evolution

By Institute for Creation Research. [C]onsider a very simple putative organism composed of only 200 integrated and functioning parts, and the problem of deriving that organism by [evolution]. The system presumably must have started with only one part and then gradually built itself up over many generations into its 200-part organization. The developing organism, at each successive stage, must itself be integrated and functioning in its environment in order to survive until the next stage. Each successive stage, of course, becomes statistically less likely than the preceding one, since it is far easier for a complex system to break down than to build itself up. A four-component integrated system can more easily “mutate” (that is, somehow suddenly change) into a three-component system (or even a four-component non-functioning system) than into a five-component integrated system. If, at any step in the chain, the system mutates “downward,” then it is either destroyed altogether or else moves backward, in an evolutionary sense.

Therefore, the successful production of a 200-component functioning organism requires, at least, 200 successive, successful such “mutations,” each of which is highly unlikely. Even evolutionists recognize that true mutations are very rare, and beneficial mutations are extremely rare—not more than one out of a thousand mutations are beneficial, at the very most.

But let us give the evolutionist the benefit of every consideration. Assume that, at each mutational step, there is equally as much chance for it to be good as bad. Thus, the probability for the success of each mutation is assumed to be one out of two, or one-half. Elementary statistical theory shows that the probability of 200 successive mutations being successful is then ½ to the 200th power, or one chance out of 10 to the 60th power. The number 10 to the 60th power, if written out, would be “one” followed by sixty “zeros.” In other words, the chance that a 200-component organism could be formed by mutation and natural selection is less than one chance out of a trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion! Lest anyone think that a 200-part system is unreasonably complex, it should be noted that even a one-celled plant or animal may have millions of molecular “parts.” (Read more from “The Mathematical Impossibility of Evolution” HERE)

Evolution’s Time Problem

By Answers In Genesis. How do many scientists arrive at the age of 4½ billion years? They rely on radiometric dating, though the story is a bit more complicated than it sounds. Some rocks contain trace amounts of radioactive atoms. Those radioactive atoms decay into stable atoms over time. By knowing the decay rate and measuring the amount of both kinds of atoms in a rock, scientists can compute the amount of time it took to produce the stable atoms.

Some assumptions are involved, however. Were some of the stable atoms present in the rock to begin with? Did some of either type of atom leave or enter the rock during the time being measured for decay? To make matters worse, measuring the age of a rock by different kinds of radioactive atoms (such as uranium or rubidium) often yields very different ages. There are many examples of such discordant ages. . .

Today many scientists continue to believe in a 4½-billion-year-old earth, which evolution requires. They will continue to choose to believe that age, even though solid scientific reasons are available to doubt those dates. (Read more from “Evolution’s Time Problem” HERE)
