Simple Arithmetic Demonstrates That the Epidemic, Outside Nursing Homes, Is Essentially Over

We are weeks past the peak of coronavirus hospitalizations, yet the reported national death numbers keep rising 2,000 or more every single day. It made no sense to anyone who has followed the curves in any other country, but now we have our answer. The Hartford Courant reported that 90% of all deaths in Connecticut last week were in senior care facilities. This explains why these increased deaths don’t make sense with the reality of empty hospitals in most places.

This revelation should change everything we know about the current state of affairs with coronavirus. Governors are justifying the continued lockdown by pointing to rising deaths, sometimes significantly, in many states and counties. But it now appears, using simple arithmetic, that in most states, the overwhelming majority of deaths are in nursing homes, and in some states and counties, nearly every new death is in a senior facility. And in fact, even in nursing homes, it appears that while numbers are being recorded now, the actual deaths occurred earlier during the peak. Nothing else matters until this fact comes to life.

80%-90% of new deaths, 50%+ total deaths are in senior care facilities

As I reported yesterday, not only do deaths in nursing homes now compose more than 50% (and in some states as high as 80%) of total deaths from the beginning of the entire epidemic, that percentage is sharply increasing in every state day by day. This means that nearly all the new deaths, depending on the state, are occurring in nursing homes.

Every state has a recorded death count that you can track by date, but the recording of the subcategory of nursing home deaths is pretty new in most states, and there is no cumulative tally by date. Nonetheless, using news reports and data from previous dates, we can easily see how many of the new total deaths since then were from nursing homes.

Phil Kerpen has recorded these numbers in his Twitter account, and I have independently verified them by going to each state’s database.

Those are some state numbers of the total nursing home deaths in a respective state’s overall deaths since the beginning of the epidemic. But then you have Virginia, where there have been new recorded nursing home deaths that are higher than the entire total from the past week.

What this demonstrates is that not only are most new deaths occurring in nursing homes, some of them are also being backfilled into the count now that states are beginning to focus on nursing homes as an important demographic data point. This means that depending on the state, either some of the deaths weren’t originally recorded at all during the peak weeks, or they were recorded in the state’s total but because the patient died in a hospital, they weren’t initially listed as a nursing home death, even though the patient came from such a facility.

I’m seeing the same thing in my home state of Maryland. There have been 317 new recorded deaths in Maryland from April 28 through May 6, and 333 from nursing homes! Again, clearly, not only are there few coronavirus deaths outside nursing homes any more, but even some of the nursing home deaths are either being added retroactively to the state’s overall total or having the effect of revising the previously reported non-nursing home subtotal down because they are now researching past hospital deaths of nursing home patients.

For example, in Baltimore County, 124 of 149 total deaths occurred in these facilities. That is 83% of all deaths. But if you tally the numbers since April 29, there are 59 new nursing home deaths, even though the total county deaths only went up by 55.

Different states and counties have varying numbers. In Minnesota, for example, 89 percent of the new deaths recorded on Tuesday were in nursing homes. Some might not be quite as dramatic, but they tell the same story. The curve has long been flattened, the deaths have nearly stopped in most areas of the country outside nursing homes, and even in nursing homes, some of the numbers are being backfilled, and there are serious questions about the data and criteria for coding these deaths.

This is why some counties in Pennsylvania are asking the state to be transparent and separate out nursing home deaths from other deaths per day. They are being told they cannot open up because there are still people dying, but the question of whether the tragedy is largely confined to nursing homes or whether it’s widespread makes a huge difference. Most counties in Pennsylvania are seeing upwards of 80% of deaths occurring in nursing homes in recent days and weeks. The government of Livingston, New Jersey, is making the same request because 80% of all recorded deaths are occurring in long-term care facilities, and the growth of that share of the pie is accelerating every day.

I have checked over 30 states that produce data on nursing home deaths and have found that in each one, the share of deaths that nursing homes compose of the statewide total has dramatically increased to varying degrees over the past 1-3 weeks.

The implication is that there is no excuse whatsoever not to open up the country and throw all our resources at protecting nursing homes. But it also raises questions as to what is going on with the count in nursing homes.

A scary national death tally built on questionable nursing home data

Fox News reported on Tuesday regarding the New York numbers: “Exactly how many nursing home residents have died remains uncertain despite the state’s latest disclosure, as the list doesn’t include nursing home residents who were transferred to hospitals before dying.”

At least during the peak time, that could have been a large number, if not the majority of nursing home deaths. This could shed light on what is going on now. Could it be that the numbers aren’t surging quite as much as the toplines suggest, but that some states are now recording more prior deaths as nursing home deaths? The implication of this would mean that even the states that have less than 50% of deaths recorded from nursing homes, such as New York (it’s about 36%) might wind up all being over 50%. The Washington Post already predicts that more than half of the nation’s total deaths are in nursing homes. That would mean that no more than 36,000 deaths so far were ever from non-nursing home patients and that nearly none of them are now.

Then there is also the issue of reliability of the data. There are concerns overall that too many people who tested positive for COVID-19 but died of “a clear alternate cause,” to quote Illinois Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike, are being added to the count. However, this concern is magnified now that most of the numbers are coming from nursing homes. We know that once the virus gets into nursing homes, the overwhelming majority, if not all, of residents will test positive for the virus, as we’re seeing in other confined spaces, such as ships and prisons. While it is very deadly and dangerous for them, clearly not all who die in nursing homes are dying of COVID-19. People die fairly suddenly in nursing homes every day, probably more so than anywhere else.

Take New York’s nursing home death data, for example. States and counties began adding “presumptive” deaths to the overall fatality count in recent weeks. But usually the presumptive deaths are only a fraction of the confirmed deaths, and with New York’s overall total deaths, that fact is no different. Now, take a look at these numbers in New York just for nursing home deaths:

Confirmed: 2418

Presumed: 2585

There are actually more presumed deaths than confirmed deaths among the nursing home demographic. That is astounding. It doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to smell something fishy.

Remember, roughly 20%-24% of all deaths in America every year occur in nursing homes, and studies have shown that most die from dementia (36%), cardiovascular issues (30%), or pulmonary issues (23%). It’s very easy to see how, now that they are testing everyone in these homes, and most are likely testing positive, any typical death would be coded as a COVID-19 death.

Then there is the question of how many nursing home patients are dying now as a result of decisions by governors to force nursing homes to take back patients from hospitals after they tested positive for the virus. We know this had devastating results in the tristate area around New York City, and now Governor Gavin Newsom is doubling down on the same policy in California.

We need transparency

With our entire way of life destroyed because of false arithmetic and false science, what is the CDC doing with the tens of billions of dollars we gave it? At a minimum, they should publish a breakdown every day of the following:

How many nursing home residents died, as distinct from those who died among the general population, along with a state-by-state breakdown.

How many deaths occurred on the day they were recorded vs. how many were backfilled.

How many of the nursing home deaths are confirmed as having died as a result of the virus, as opposed to just having tested positive (like tens of millions of Americans who likely had the virus but didn’t get a severe case).

How many coronavirus patients were admitted straight from hospitals to nursing homes, broken down by state.

The results of any antibody serology tests the CDC has conducted (there’s no way they haven’t, and if they didn’t, that would be criminal) and a full breakdown of the real fatality rate, stratified for each cohort of age, gender, race, and health status. If they don’t have this data, then what is the purpose of throwing tens of billions at them?

A definitive national and state-by-state number of how many of the 72,000+ deaths were in long-term senior care facilities.

The reason we need independent conservative writers like me to investigate what should be the most publicized data ever is because our overlords do not want us to discover what these results would reveal. Obama Panics – President Obama Gives Political Operatives and Media Talking Points to Protect Him… (VIDEO)

The good news is former President Obama is panicked by recent sunlight; the slight possibility of a U.S. DOJ that may soon have him in the cross-hairs; and the more obvious possibility the American people will discover the scale of his corrupt weaponization of intelligence to target his political opposition.

The better news is former President Obama is so heavily concerned about the looming possibilities; rather than relying on intermediary instructions through Media Matters; he is giving political operatives and national media his instructions directly. LISTEN:

Tennessee Police Arrest Citizen Who Escaped Forced COVID-19 Detention Camp…

Comrades, some readers might not be aware the Ministry of COVID compliance has set up quarantine camps, detention facilities in various areas. Formerly free citizens who test positive for COVID-19 are forcibly taken to the quarantine camps and held under guard.

Last week one of the non-compliant captives demanded his freedom; he climbed the fence and escaped detention. After a manhunt in Tennessee the subversive citizen was recaptured, arrested and brought back to the detention facility…. Alarmed yet?

TENNESSEE – A coronavirus patient was arrested Thursday after prosecutors said he jumped a fence and fled the Nashville Fairgrounds, where health officials are using enforceable quarantines in an attempt to control an outbreak at an emergency homeless shelter.

This appears to be the first case in Nashville of police making an arrest to enforce coronavirus restrictions enacted by the local government.

[…] According to an arrest affidavit, a 39-year-old man was taken to the Nashville Fairgrounds on Monday and placed under quarantine by the Metro Nashville Public Health Department because he tested positive for the coronavirus.

Health officials told the man he could not leave until he was cleared, but on Thursday he jumped a fence and headed north on Nolensville Road, the affidavit states. He was stopped and arrested by Metro Nashville Parks police by a city cemetery nearly two miles from where he had been quarantined. Metro Parks has charged the man with a single count of escape from a penal institution. (read more)

As you can see from this example, the Tennessee Ministry of COVID Compliance cares about the health of its compliant citizens. Authorities empowered by the Ministry will actively hunt down subversive citizens and forcibly detain them in the ongoing effort to build a new society where compliance will always provide the security you seek.

If wrong-thoughts or requests for arbitrary freedom continue to be expressed, it may become necessary for the Ministry to take enhanced enforcement action. Please do not put the Ministry in the position of having to make such decisions. Compliance is in your best interest and re-education facilities are costly to maintain.

Relax comrades, the Ministry is sensitive to your previous rights as we initiate our new, safer, society. The COVID Compliance Ministry appreciates good citizens who voluntarily participate in the rules of our new society. We will continue to reward good citizenship status with enhanced tax credits and social benefits allowing greater access to a safe COVID Compliant Society. A safer society; where the odds will always be in our favor.

A rogue citizen could put a compliant society at risk of infection. They may not just carry biologics they could carry a more alarming virus of wrong-thought against the interests of the state. Rogue citizens would be subversive to our new society.

Social Distancing or House Arrest…. Details, comrades,… details. (For more from the author of “Tennessee Police Arrest Citizen Who Escaped Forced COVID-19 Detention Camp…” please click HERE)

Trump: Obama Committed “Biggest Political Crime in US History”; Obama Officials Involved in Flynn ‘Unmasking’ Declassified; New Documents Are ‘Smoking Gun’; Obama, Biden Are ‘Scared’ the Truth Will Come out

By Morgan Phillips. President Trump on Monday escalated his feud with former President Obama, insisting during a news conference that his predecessor committed a “crime” but refusing to dive into details.

When asked by a reporter in the Rose Garden what crime he is accusing Obama of committing, Trump responded: “Obamagate, it’s been going on for a long time, it’s been going on from before I got elected, and it’s a disgrace that it happened. You look at now all of this information that’s being released and from what I understand that’s only the beginning.”

When pressed for details, the commander in chief told a Washington Post reporter, “You know the crime. The crime is very obvious to everybody. All you have to do is read the newspapers, except yours.”

Trump on Sunday quoted a tweet that accused Obama of using “his last weeks in office to target incoming officials and sabotage the new administration.”

By ABC News. Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell has declassified a list of former Obama administration officials who were allegedly involved in the so-called “unmasking” of former national security adviser Michael Flynn in his conversations with the former Russian ambassador during the presidential transition, a senior U.S. official tells ABC News.

Grenell, who remains the U.S. ambassador to Germany along with being the acting DNI, visited the Justice Department last week and brought the list with him, according to the official.

His visit indicates his focus on an issue previously highlighted in 2017 by skeptics of the investigation into the Trump campaign’s contacts with Russia, specifically allegations that former officials improperly unveiled Flynn’s identity from intercepts of his call with former Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

Grenell’s visit came the same week that Attorney General William Barr moved to dismiss the criminal case against Flynn following his guilty plea for lying to the FBI about his conversations with Kislyak.

Barr has said that new information revealed in recent weeks about the conduct of FBI officials involved in the interview of Flynn showed that their investigation was not “legitimate.” (Read more from “Any Obama Officials Involved in Flynn ‘Unmasking’ Declassified: Source” HERE)

Chaffetz Says New Flynn Documents Are ‘Smoking Gun’: Obama, Biden Are ‘Scared’ the Truth Will Come out

By Fox News. The internal memos released from the FBI’s investigation of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn represent a “smoking gun” against the FBI under James Comey’s leadership, former House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz said Monday.

“I do think it is the smoking gun,” Chaffetz told “America’s Newsroom’s” Ed Henry.

Chaffetz recalled a meeting – before President Trump was inaugurated – involving President Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, former National Security Adviser Susan Rice, Comey and Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates in which they discussed matters “very specific to General Flynn.”

Chaffetz also said FBI agents went to the White House to interview Flynn without clearance and without abiding by protocol.

“It’s hard to believe that there is anything other than direct acknowledgment and direction from the president of the U.S. to the FBI director, who then does things a couple of weeks later that is totally unprecedented in storming, in that the White House, putting this ambush together, and going after General Flynn like we’ve never seen before,” Chaffetz said. Bombshell Report: Dr. Birx Believes the CDC Is Inflating Death Numbers by as Much as 25%

Why is it that long past the peak of the virus, the number of deaths continues to skyrocket beyond what the revised government models predicted?

On Saturday, the Washington Post reported that Dr. Deborah Birx, the White House Coronavirus Task Force response administrator, is accusing the CDC of using an antiquated model to track coronavirus deaths that could be responsible for inflating the death numbers by as much as 25 percent. The Post cites four unnamed sources who reported a dispute between Birx and Robert Redfield, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, last Wednesday over the modeling.

“There is nothing from the CDC that I can trust,” Birx reportedly said, according to two of the Post’s sources.

If the 25% inflation number is true, that would place the total deaths closer to the 66,000 death figure that the government predicted in April.

We need not rely on an off-the-record citation from the Washington Post to know that where there is smoke, there is fire. Birx already publicly admitted last month that CDC is telling states to code any death of an individual who tests positive for COVID-19 as a coronavirus death, even if it is not proven that the death was caused by COVID-19. The problem is now that we know the virus is so much more widespread than previously thought, and therefore so much less deadly, how can we assume that anyone who merely tests positive for the virus died because of the virus? This is especially true now that we know that the majority of those who test positive for coronavirus in areas where everyone is tested (ships, meatpacking plants, and prisons, for example) are asymptomatic?

This was always the vexing question concerning the death count, but it has become even more troubling now that deaths continue to surge long past the peak of the virus and with hospitalizations way down. We got the answer to this question last week when it became apparent that the overwhelming majority of deaths in recent days have been in nursing homes. In some states, more than 100% of reported deaths on a given day are in nursing homes, because they are now retroactively adding previously undeclared deaths as nursing home deaths.

The fact that states are just backfilling so many deaths of nursing home patients makes the numbers even more suspicious. There certainly is a terrible tragedy unfolding in senior facilities, partiality due to states demanding that these facilities take in coronavirus patients. It wasn’t until yesterday that New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo rescinded the order forcing nursing homes into this suicidal policy.

Undoubtedly, many people have died from the virus in these facilities. The official count from 39 states that have reported data broken down by long-term senior care facility shows that 52% of all deaths nationwide have been in nursing homes, according to a spreadsheet prepared by Phil Kerpen.

We now know that states either mandated the return of hospitalized COVID-19 patients into nursing homes or gave no guidance to nursing homes on what to do with those who tested positive. As the Washington Post reports, while “Lockdown Larry” Hogan was locking down an entire state, “there was no process in place to ensure that the facility [in La Plata, Maryland, with the most COVID-19 deaths] received test results for residents, the regulators found, exacerbating the spread of the virus throughout the month of April.” Now more than 60% of the state’s deaths have been in these facilities, over 80% in some counties.

However, we must not forget that as dangerous as COVID-19 is to nursing home residents, it does not have a 100% fatality rate. According to Colorado Public Radio, the state has tested “nearly 1,900 asymptomatic staff and residents at six large elder-care facilities since April 19.”

Yet at the same time, we know that 65% of nursing home residents die every year within a year of admission and 52% within six months. Overall, roughly one-quarter of the approximately 2.8 million annual fatalities in this country occur in a senior care facility. That’s nearly 13,500 a week. We also know that once COVID-19 gets into a nursing home, it’s likely that a majority, if not nearly all of the residents, will test positive. It’s therefore inconceivable that those coding the deaths are not liberally adding in those who died from a stroke, heart attack, or Alzheimer’s (“old age”) simply because they tested positive.

Remember, included in the state’s senior care facility death numbers (colloquially referred to as “nursing home deaths”) are also hospices. The Illinois health director admitted that “if you were in hospice and had already been given a few weeks to live and then you also were found to have COVID, that would be counted as a COVID death.”

As I reported last week, the number of New York long-term care facility deaths that are listed as “presumed” are greater than the number of “confirmed” deaths, yet the presumed numbers are all included in the national tally you see on the news every day.

Also, remember, the presumed numbers are for those who did not test positive. However, there is less focus on those who did test positive, contracted an asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic illness, and sadly, like so many in hospices or nursing homes, passed away from a myriad of other causes. Every one of those people is being listed as a confirmed COVID-19 death!

Thus, at this point, according to the state data, we can say with certainty that at least 40,000 of the 80,000 reported national COVID-19 deaths were recorded among nursing home patients and that a certain number of overall deaths have been inflated, potentially dramatically so in nursing homes. If you take New York City and its surrounding environs plus nursing homes out of the equation, most of the rest of the country experienced a plague less devastating than the 2018 flu season, which killed 60,000. And the overwhelming majority of the remaining casualties had multiple co-morbidities.

The reason our government is not putting out more precise and accurate data is because if it did, it would be a national scandal that we destroyed an entire country for a crisis largely confined to nursing homes. The people would know that the same politicians who spent months locking down every playground for people and in places where there is near-zero threat of death forgot to put the fire out where it was actually raging. U.S. Muslim Students Threaten to Kill Professor for Suggesting Islam Is Violent

This will teach those Islamophobes that Islam is a religion of peace: a professor is facing death threats for suggesting otherwise. Nicholas Damask, Ph.D., has taught political science at Scottsdale Community College in Arizona for 24 years. But now he is facing a barrage of threats, and his family, including his 9-year-old grandson and 85-year-old parents, is in hiding, while College officials are demanding that he apologize – all for the crime of speaking the truth about the motivating ideology behind the threat of Islamic jihad worldwide. . .

Professor Damask’s troubles began during the current Spring semester, when a student took exception to three quiz questions. The questions were:

Who do terrorists strive to emulate? A. Mohammed
Where is terrorism encouraged in Islamic doctrine and law? A. The Medina verses [i.e., the portion of the Qur’an traditionally understood as having been revealed later in Muhammad’s prophetic career]
Terrorism is _______ in Islam. A. justified within the context of jihad.

. . .[T]he student emailed Damask to complain that he was “offended” by these questions, as they were “in distaste of Islam.” Damask recounted: “Until this point, notably, the student had expressed no reservations about the course material and indeed he said he enjoyed the course.”

Damask sent two lengthy emails to the student responding to his complaints, but to no avail. A social media campaign began against Damask on the College’s Instagram account. Damask notes: “An unrelated school post about a school contest was hijacked, with supporters of the student posting angry, threatening, inflammatory and derogatory messages about the quiz, the school, and myself.” (Read more from “U.S. Muslim Students Threaten to Kill Professor for Suggesting Islam Is Violent” HERE)

3 Things to Know About Dallas Salon Owner Jailed, Then Released

The Texas Supreme Court on Thursday ordered the release of a Dallas hair salon owner who had been jailed for contempt of court after refusing to keep her business closed due to coronavirus pandemic.

1) She was jailed for violating the stay-at-home order.

Shelley Luther was sent to the Dallas County jail “after keeping her salon open in defiance of state restrictions,” according to KXAS-TV, the NBC affiliate in Dallas, which reported that “Luther refused to apologize for repeatedly flouting the order, leading [a Dallas County judge] to find her in contempt of court and sentence her to a week behind bars” and fine her $7,000.

2) Prominent Texas lawmakers defended her.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, said in a statement that jailing Luther, owner of Salon A La Mode, was going too far.

“Throwing Texans in jail who have had their businesses shut down through no fault of their own is nonsensical, and I will not allow it to happen,” Abbott said in a statement. “That is why I am modifying my executive orders to ensure confinement is not a punishment for violating an order.”

Abbott’s March executive order mandated that salons and other nonessential businesses close.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton tweeted Wednesday that throwing the salon owner in jail was inappropriate.

“Shelley Luther should immediately be released from jail,” Paxton said. “Locking her up is a misguided abuse of power, especially considering Dallas County released real criminals to “protect them from COVID-19.”

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, also voiced his disapproval of Luther’s jail sentence on Tuesday, tweeting, “7 days in jail for cutting hair?? This is NUTS. And government officials don’t get to order citizens to apologize to them for daring to earn a living.”

Prior to Luther’s release, Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick tweeted Wednesday that he would pay Luther’s $7,000 fine, and even offered to take her place in jail.

“7 days in jail, no bail, and a $7K fine is outrageous,” Patrick wrote. “No surprise Texans are responding. I’m covering the $7K fine she had to pay, and I volunteer to be placed under House Arrest so she can go to work and feed her kids.”

Dallas’ CBS affiliate reported Wednesday that Patrick made good on his promise to pay her fine.

3) Luther defended her actions.

The salon owner defended her actions, saying she refused to keep her business closed only out of the need to care for her family.

“Feeding my kids is not selfish,” Luther told state District Court Judge Eric Moye. “If you think the law is more important than kids getting fed, then please go ahead with your decision, but I am not going to shut the salon.”

John Malcolm, vice president of the Institute for Constitutional Government and director of the Meese Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at The Heritage Foundation, told The Daily Signal in an email that Luther’s punishment was unreasonable.

“It seems clear that the judge went overboard in sending Ms. Luther—who is obviously feeling desperate about her financial situation—to jail for several days and imposing a substantial fine, especially at a time in which serious offenders are being released from jail because of the threat of contracting coronavirus while incarcerated,” Malcolm said, adding:

That having been said, if the governor did not want judges to enforce his pandemic-related edicts with the threat of incarcerating people who violated them, then he probably should have said so upfront.

This Letter From Pennsylvania’s House Speaker Blows up the Lockdown Lie

Today, we celebrate the 75th anniversary of V-E Day. It was the ultimate triumph of grit, determination, and a unified sense of purpose behind liberty that, despite its painful human and monetary cost, freed an entire world and spawned 75 years of America superpower status – not just as a leader globally, but as a nation of freedom and prosperity at home.

Now, in a matter of just two months, we’ve flushed trillions of dollars in a greater investment than World War II, and we have nothing to show for it but a destroyed economy, a destroyed deterrent against a generation of dangerous criminals, a physical and mental health crisis, lost education of a generation of schoolchildren, lifelong dreams of small business owners down the toilet, and the end of freedom itself – all for a lie that was apparent from day one.

The Greatest Generation invested for, sacrificed for, fought for, and achieved liberty and prosperity; we invested for, sacrificed for, and self-destructed for tyranny and a police state for all but truly dangerous criminals who have been released by the tens of thousands under this lockdown insanity.

When pondering the enormity of the short-term and long-term effects of this destruction and how our government, absent strong intervention, will become increasingly a police state, read this letter from the speaker of the House of Pennsylvania, Mike Turzai, to get a sense of how we were lied to about the impetus for such drastic action.

Sadly, 3,106 of our citizens have died due to Covid-19. The average age of those that have passed away is 79 years old.

To date, of these 3,106 deaths, 2,108 of these persons lived in nursing homes, personal care homes and assisted living residences. That means 67.9% those who have died lived in these types of settings.

Of the 3,106 persons who have died, 11.9% had 4 comorbidities, 22.7% had 3 comorbidities, 27.2% had 2 comorbidities, 22.6% had 1 comorbidity and 11% had zero comorbidities. While these percentages only add up to 95.4%, these were the statistics that were provided to us verbally.

Of the 3,106 persons who died, 61% had hypertension, 54% had heart disease, 37% had diabetes and 30% had chronic pulmonary disease.

According to the Hospital and Health System Association of Pennsylvania (HAP), citing Pennsylvania Department of Health statistics, there are 37,000 beds in Pennsylvania hospitals.

As of today, 2,572 of these beds were occupied by Covid-l9 patients, which amounts to 6.95%.

There are only 539 patients in the hospitals on ventilators, which amounts to 1.46% of all hospital beds.

Hence, we chopped our proverbial head off to deal with a very defined and isolated problem. As I’ve chronicled, there’s nothing unique about Pennsylvania. This is the story of nearly every state, where 95%-100% of deaths were in nursing homes or among those with several underlying conditions, and the median age of death was either at or above life expectancy.

We knew from day one from clear studies of the Diamond Princess ship in early February that this was a problem almost exclusively for the elderly and those with three or four very specific ailments. All of our resources needed to be used to protect that vulnerable population in a targeted and strategic approach, as we do with nearly every public policy problem. Even after this became apparent, two to three weeks into the crisis, the politicians doubled down on failure and tyranny and are doing so to this day.

Our governments destroyed our entire country under the guise of caring about lives while they left the nursing homes vulnerable. We didn’t even kill the proverbial ant after using the nuclear bomb! We didn’t err on the side of caution; we erred on the side of obliteration. Now they are planning to do this intermittently in the future for viruses of even lower magnitude.

Remember the “15 days to flatten the curve” and ensure that hospitals weren’t overrun? Well, outside New York City, they never even came close to being full, and now they are ghost towns – nearly two months into this insanity that governors refuse to end. Minnesota destroyed its economy and health care system for an epidemic in which over 80% of the fatalities were in nursing homes and 99.24% had underlying conditions. The country now faces up to 30% unemployment. The lockdown has flattened nothing but society, liberty, and livelihoods.

Our grandparents fought two superpowers through the worst circumstances and not only kept the country running, but grew it to new heights. After all, they were the descendants of George Washington’s army that fought the Revolution during a smallpox epidemic.

If these acts of national heroism made them the Greatest Generation, what do these governmental acts of illogical, immoral, and illegal self-immolation make our generation? (For more from the author of “This Letter From Pennsylvania’s House Speaker Blows up the Lockdown Lie” please click HERE)

Declassified Docs Show Obama Knew Intimate Details of Gen. Flynn’s Wiretapped Calls, Shocking Top DOJ Official

By Fox News. President Obama was aware of the details of then-incoming national security adviser Michael Flynn’s intercepted December 2016 phone calls with then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, apparently surprising then-Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, according to documents released Thursday as exhibits to the government’s motion to dismiss the Flynn case.

Obama’s unexpectedly intimate knowledge of the details of Flynn’s calls, which the FBI said at the time were not criminal in nature, raised eyebrows because of his own history with Flynn — and because top FBI officials secretly discussed whether their goal was to “get [Flynn] fired” when they interviewed him in the White House on January 24, 2017.

Obama personally had warned the Trump administration against hiring Flynn, and made clear he was “not a fan,” according to multiple officials. Obama had fired Flynn as head of the Defense Intelligence Agency in 2014.

On January 5, 2017, Yates attended an Oval Office meeting with then-FBI Director James Comey, then-Vice President Joe Biden, then-CIA Director John Brennan, and then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, according to the newly declassified documents, including an FD-302 FBI witness report. . . A previous memo from [national security adviser Susan] Rice stated that Biden also stayed behind after the main briefing had ended. . .

After the briefing, Obama asked Yates and Comey to “stay behind,” and said he had “learned of the information about Flynn” and his conversation with Russia’s ambassador about sanctions [and] was seeking information on whether the White House should be treating Flynn any differently, given the information.” (Read more from “Declassified Docs Show Obama Knew Intimate Details of Gen. AG Barr Defends Michael Flynn Reversal: ‘History Is Written by the Winners’

By CBS News. . .In a motion filed in U.S. district court, federal prosecutors asked the judge to dismiss the single count of making false statements to the FBI, claiming the government concluded that the FBI’s interview of Flynn “was untethered to, and unjustified by, the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation.”

Attorney General William Barr joined CBS News senior investigative correspondent Catherine Herridge to discuss the reasoning behind the motion. . .

[Catherine Herridge:] In closing, this was a big decision in the Flynn case, to– to say the least. When history looks back on this decision, how do you think it will be written? What will it say about your decision making?

It helped, it upheld the standards of the Department of Justice, and it undid what was an injustice.

Levels of This Vitamin Correlated With COVID-19 Death Rates

Researchers have discovered a strong correlation between vitamin D deficiency and mortality rates from the novel coronavirus, a new study reveals.

A research team led by Northwestern University analyzed data from hospitals and clinics across China, France, Germany, Italy, Iran, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Patients from countries with high COVID-19 mortality rates, such as Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom, had lower levels of vitamin D compared to patients in countries that were not as severely affected, according to the study.

The researchers also found a strong correlation between vitamin D levels and cytokine storm, which is a hyperinflammatory condition caused by an overactive immune system. (Read more from “Levels of This Vitamin Correlated With COVID-19 Death Rates” HERE)
