The Jihad Attacks on Churches in Illinois That You Heard Nothing About

Osama E. El Hannouny, a 25-year-old man who lives in the Chicago suburb of Palos Hills, Illinois, has made his prejudices very clear, saying that he doesn’t like Christians. More than once he has acted on that dislike at churches in his area. But as his attacks don’t fit the mainstream media narrative, this article is likely to be the only place where you’ll hear about them.

Last Tuesday, when he should have been staying at home and making TikTok videos like other people his age, El Hannouny ventured out into the coronavirus-ridden wilds, heading for Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palos Hills. Once he got there, he looked into the church through the doors, and saw that there were people inside (doesn’t anyone honor the coronavirus quarantine in Cook County?). Seeing his chance for jihad, El Hannouny immediately began piling leaves around the church’s gas main and air conditioning unit, making numerous trips back and forth to do so. Once he was satisfied that he had sufficient kindling, El Hannouny, according to the charges against him, set fire to the leaves.

As it happened, no one was hurt: firefighters quickly arrived on the scene and put out the fire before it did any significant damage. El Hannouny, however, continued his jihad, this time against the police who arrested him. According to Patch, “while El Hannouny was being processed, police said he started spitting at officers, reports said. El Hannouny also wrote a religious slur on the wall of his cell, according to the report. El Hannouny allegedly scratched, bit and spit at police when they tried to stop him.” . . .

When he was arrested and asked why he had done such a thing, El Hannouny replied with unusual directness: “I don’t like Christians.” According to WBBM, he admitted to the 19 tire-slashings and was “charged with 14 counts of criminal damage to property.” El Hannouny was then “released on a personal recognize [sic] bond and electronic monitoring.” In January, authorities added on hate crime charges. Stanford Study Shows COVID-19 Infection Rates May Be “50 to 85 Times” Higher Than Official Numbers (VIDEO)

By The Mercury News. In a startling finding, new Stanford research reveals between 48,000 and 81,000 people in Santa Clara County alone may already have been infected by the coronavirus by early April — that’s 50 to 85 times more than the number of official cases at that date.

The estimate comes from a first-in-the-nation community study of newly available antibody tests that suggest how widespread the invisible — and perhaps benign — companion has been in the Bay Area’s hardest-hit county. Not only do the numbers show how the U.S.’s severe shortage of testing led to a profound undercount of COVID-19 cases, they indicate the virus is far less deadly than believed.

Just how much of an undercount? Stanford’s low-end estimate of Santa Clara County cases is nearly double the confirmed total — 28,000 — for the entire state of California. The study estimated 2.5% to 4.2% of residents here carry antibodies to the pathogen, a marker of past infection that suggests it may be safe for them to go back to work and school. . .

Santa Clara County, home to Stanford University and 1.9 million residents, was one of the first hot spots for the coronavirus in the country. As of Friday, it officially had recorded 1,833 cases and 69 deaths related to coronavirus.

The new Stanford study comes at a time when health experts and elected officials look to immunity as one way to blunt the impact of the pandemic. It is not yet known if antibodies prevent future infection. If so, antibody protection could offer people a safe route out of strict “sheltering.” (Read more from “Stanford Study Shows COVID-19 Infection Rates May Be “50 to 85 Times” Higher Than Official Numbers” HERE)

Study Suggests Coronavirus Is More Widespread Than Realized

By Spectator USA. [I]t is one more piece in a jigsaw which is slowly building up a picture of a virus which may be far more prevalent — and possibly far less deadly — than was at first believed. As has been argued here before, knowing the general level of infection in the population is absolutely crucial because this informs both the virulence and the mortality rate of the infection. If only a small percentage of the population have had the virus, then it might be worth continuing with lockdown policies. But if SARS-Cov-2 is already endemic in the population there is nothing we can do to stop it but no great reason to try to stop it, either: it has already ripped its way through the population with only a small proportion showing any symptoms.

Last week, I reported a similar study from the town of Gangelt in north-western Germany where 15 percent of the population were found to have antibodies to SARS-CoV-2. Were that to be reflected in the wider population, it would still mean we were a long way short of the 60 percent infection rate which scientific advisers originally considered necessary for ‘herd immunity’ of the population. But it would mean we were well on the way.

That scientists in Germany and California have been able to perform antibody tests on good-sized samples of the population yet again raises the question: why have we still not performed such studies elsewhere? (Read more from “Study Suggests Coronavirus Is More Widespread Than Realized” HERE)

Tea Party-Style Protests Are Popping up Across the U.S. Over Stay-At-Home Restrictions

By CNN. Protesters gathered in several state capitals this week to voice their opposition to stay-at-home orders issued to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Minnesota, North Carolina and Utah — states led by both Republican and Democratic governors — have all seen protests in recent days as people grow more concerned about the economic fallout of the coronavirus pandemic. . .

Some protesters met Thursday outside the governor’s mansion in St. Paul to voice opposition to Democratic Gov. Tim Walz’s stay-home order, which has been extended through May 3. . .

Protesters demonstrated in the Kentucky capital of Frankfort, where Gov. Andy Beshear, a Democrat, had to speak over the noise during a news briefing Wednesday. (Read more from “Protests Are Popping up Across the U.S. Over Stay-At-Home Restrictions” HERE)

Tea Party-Style Protests Break out Across the Country Against Stay-At-Home Orders

By NBC News. Across the nation, protests against the stay-at-home orders that health experts say are needed to save lives are taking place, with more set for the coming days.

This week, about 100 protesters gathered outside the Ohio statehouse in Columbus to push for Republican Gov. Mike DeWine to reopen the state. In Raleigh, more than 100 demonstrators gathered to protest Democratic North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper’s stay-at-home order, where at least one protester was charged with violating the order. In New York, a few dozen people gathered Thursday outside the state Capitol in Albany to rally for returning to normal. Kentucky, Utah and Wyoming also saw similar protests.

More events are scheduled for Pennsylvania, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, Idaho and Washington state. . .

Push back to the orders is generating plenty of buzz online, where hundreds of thousands have joined groups, such as “Michiganders Against Excessive Quarantine,” “ReOpen NC” and “Pennsylvanians Against Excessive Quarantine.” (Read more from “Tea Party-Style Protests Break out Across the Country Against Stay-At-Home Orders” HERE)

Jail Time on Horizon for Rep. Omar? Will Pay Husband’s Firm $1 Million by Year End

Rep. Ilhan Omar is on track to pay the political firm founded by her new husband more than $1 million by the end of the year, campaign finance filings show.

In the first three months of this year, the Minnesota Democrat’s campaign paid the E Street Group $292,000 for advertising, fundraising, travel and other services, according to a federal campaign finance report filed Wednesday and obtained by the Star Tribune.

At that rate, the company would get $1.16 million from Omar’s campaign in 2020 — more than double the $523,000 it received for the whole of last year.

The firm was founded by Omar’s longtime consultant Tim Mynett, allegedly a former lover whom she married last month. The congresswoman announced their nuptials on Instagram. (Read more from “Jail Time on Horizon for Rep. Omar? Will Pay Husband’s Firm $1 Million by Year End” HERE)

California State Election Official Confirms Double-Voting by Mail in Super Tuesday Primary; Trump Lays Bare the Republicans’ Mail-In Voting Hypocrisy

By Breitbart. California Secretary of State Alex Padilla has confirmed that double-voting by mail took place in the March 3, 2020, Super Tuesday primary, Breitbart News has exclusively learned.

Days before Super Tuesday, citizen watchdog group Election Integrity Project California sent a letter to Padilla requesting his office look into possible double voting in the 2020 primary election.

More than a month later, in a letter dated April 7, 2020, Padilla confirmed double-voting in one case and suspected double-voting by a number of other registered voters on Super Tuesday, according to the letter obtained by Breitbart News.

Padilla confirmed in at least one case that two ballots from one voter were “opened and counted on election night.” Twelve of the 15 total registered voters identified with “duplicate voting history” are “suspected to have cast two ballots for the March primary election,” Padilla wrote in the letter.

In the remaining two cases, Padilla said county election officials “caught the duplicate voter records prior to election day and only one vote was tallied.” Padilla said the findings have been “forwarded to investigators to follow-up as necessary with the voters.” (Read more from “California State Election Official Confirms Double-Voting by Mail in Super Tuesday Primary” HERE)

Trump Lays Bare the Republicans’ Mail-In Voting Hypocrisy

By The Hill. Donald Trump warns that if voting is made easier for more people — especially some still frightened by the pandemic — “You’d never have a Republican elected in this country again.”

The president, who has been caught in thousands of lies, is saying what he really believes even if it’s hyperbole. This may be an example of a political gaffe, which Michael Kinsley described as when a politician tells “some obvious truth he isn’t supposed to say.”

This is an especially critical issue now, as parts of the country could be imperiled by the novel coronavirus’s second strike in November; the harbinger might be this month’s elections in Wisconsin, where there was a surge of absentee ballots — though in the confusion some were not counted, and others citizens were forced to choose between their health or in-person voting.

A major fight is brewing in Congress over whether to provide states with real resources to craft alternatives — more voting by mail, simplifying absentee voting, opening more and less crowded polling venues. This is fiercely opposed by Trump and Mitch McConnell as they see it helping lower income voters of color, students and citizens with disabilities. WATCH: Doctors Arrested for Ripping Down Senior Citizen’s Trump Flag, and It’s All Caught on Video

A Florida couple was arrested for ripping down a senior citizen’s pro-Trump flag from his property in Gulf Breeze, Florida, and records indicate they both work as doctors.

The ill-fated political vandalism was caught on 67-year-old David Brannen’s surveillance camera and was widely circulated on social media.

Police say the man and the woman drove up to the property in a golf cart with their children on April 7.

The surveillance video shows a man and a woman grabbing a ladder to reach the flag while a child implores them to stop. The child cries, saying that they were afraid the parents would go to jail.

Police later booked 41-year-old Geoffrey Michael Fraiche and his 38-year-old wife Laura Webb-Fraiche for the vandalism.

The World Requires Voter ID, but George Soros and Hillary Clinton Are Determined the U.S. Won’t; State Lawmakers Override Veto of Voter ID Measure; Tucker Carlson: ‘Democrats Encourage Voter Fraud Because It Helps Them Win Elections’

By National Review. It’s been over seven years since the Supreme Court, in a 6–3 decision that was written by liberal favorite John Paul Stevens, declared that voter-ID laws don’t constitute an undue burden on people attempting to vote. But that hasn’t stopped liberals from fighting in legislatures and courts against those laws and other efforts to promote voter integrity. The lawsuits are often brought by Marc Elias, who doubles as the attorney for Hillary Clinton’s campaign. And their efforts have paid off: Only about 18 states currently require a photo ID to vote.

Last month, the New York Times reported that billionaire liberal George Soros was largely bankrolling the multi-million-dollar effort. Democratic-party chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has accused Republicans of trying to bring back Jim Crow because “photo I.D. laws, we think, are very similar to a poll tax.”

Election observers in other countries find this kind of rhetoric preposterous. Almost all industrialized democracies — and most that are not — require voters to prove their identity before voting. . .

The vast majority of countries require voter ID — usually photo ID — to prevent fraud and duplicate votes at the polls. Our neighbors do. Canada requires voter ID. Mexico’s “Credencial para Votar” has a hologram, a photo, and other information embedded in it, and it is impossible to effectively tamper with. Confidence in the integrity of elections has soared since its introduction in the 1990s. State Lawmakers Override Veto of Voter ID Measure

By AP. Republican lawmakers in Kentucky swept aside the Democratic governor’s veto of a bill to require the state’s residents to show a government-issued photo ID in order to vote.

Votes to override Gov. Andy Beshear’s veto easily cleared the GOP-led Senate and House as lawmakers reconvened Tuesday for a wrap-up session amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Kentucky promptly said it will consider filing legal action to try to halt the measure. (Read more from “State Lawmakers Override Veto of Voter ID Measure” HERE)

Tucker Carlson: ‘Democrats Encourage Voter Fraud Because It Helps Them Win Elections’

By Daily Caller. Fox News host Tucker Carlson argued that Democrats “encourage” making voter fraud easier “because it helps them win elections.”

Carlson began the Tuesday night “Tucker Carlson Tonight” monologue by pointing out that those, including Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam, who consider the current crisis an “opportunity.” After listing several bills Northam signed over Easter weekend and calling them an “entire rundown from an MSNBC weekend show all signed into law,” the Fox News host pointed out one “that ought to worry you, even if you’re lucky enough not to live in Virginia.” . . .

“Government IDs aren’t racist,” Carlson insisted, pushing back against the claim. “They’re mandatory. You can’t live here without one … Pretty much every person in America has a government ID. And in fact, in February 2019 a paper coauthored by professors at Harvard and the University of Bologna found that voter ID laws had no effect whatsoever on voter turnout for any subgroup they measured — whether it was by age, or gender, or party or yes, by race. This is a complete and utter crock.”

“So why are they continuing to say it?” he continued. “Because voter ID laws stop voter fraud. Democrats encourage voter fraud because it helps them win elections.” (Read more from “Tucker Carlson: ‘Democrats Encourage Voter Fraud Because It Helps Them Win Elections’” HERE)

Leaked Emails Show Fauci Was Called Hillary’s ‘Doctor Admirer,’ Wanted Hillary to Know ‘We All Love Her’; Speculation Grows About Fauci’s Future

By The Western Journal. . .Emails obtained by hackers and released by Wikileaks years ago are still guiding part of the national conversation in 2020, and they demonstrate Fauci had a great admiration for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

In an email sent to Clinton aide Cheryl Mills on Jan. 23, 2013 — the date Clinton testified before Congress about her knowledge of the 2012 Benghazi consulate attack — Fauci showed his support for the embattled Democrat, who was also facing questions about her health at the time.

“Anyone who had any doubts about the Secretary’s stamina and capability following her illness had those doubts washed away by today’s performance before the Senate and the House,” Fauci wrote to Mills. . .

In forwarding the email to Clinton, Mills wrote that the message was “From your doctor admirer.” (Read more from “Leaked Emails Show Fauci Was Called Hillary’s ‘Doctor Admirer,’ Wanted Hillary to Know ‘We All Love Her'” HERE)

The Memo: Speculation Grows About Fauci’s Future

By The Hill. Anthony Fauci looks to be skating on thin ice with President Trump, despite — or perhaps because of — a growing sense that he is the most trusted expert on the coronavirus crisis.

The White House moved on Monday to squash suggestions that Fauci could be ousted from the president’s task force on the crisis.

And Fauci himself sought to shore up his position during the White House press briefing, when he walked back remarks he had made at the weekend.

During a CNN interview on Sunday, Fauci had suggested that mitigation measures would have been more effective had they been put in place earlier but that there had been “pushback” against them.

After Trump invited Fauci to the lectern within minutes of beginning Monday’s press briefing, the doctor said that his reference to “pushback” was “the wrong choice of words.” (Read more from “The Memo: Speculation Grows About Fauci’s Future” HERE)

Chicago Hospital Phlebotomist: 30%-50% of Those Tested Have Coronavirus Antibody

A phlebotomist working at Roseland Community Hospital said Thursday that 30% to 50% of patients tested for the coronavirus have antibodies while only around 10% to 20% of those tested have the active virus.

Sumaya Owaynat, a phlebotomy technician, said she tests between 400 and 600 patients on an average day in the parking lot at Roseland Community Hospital. Drive-thru testing is from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. each day. However, the hospital has a limited number of tests they can give per day.

Owaynat said the number of patients coming through the testing center who appear to have already had coronavirus and gotten over it is far greater than those who currently have the disease. . .

If accurate, this means the spread of the virus may have been underway in the Roseland community – and the state and country as a whole – prior to the issuance of stay at home orders and widespread business closures in mid-March which have crippled the national economy.

In addition, those who show signs of already having had the illness should be able to re-enter society — albeit with some modified social distancing measures in place — rather than sheltering at home as they are no longer in danger. Of those who contract the coronavirus, around 25 percent may be asymptomatic. (Read more from “Chicago Hospital Phlebotomist: 30%-50% of Those Tested Have Coronavirus Antibody” HERE)

Woman Tests Positive for Coronavirus but She Hasn’t Left Her House for Three Weeks

A Charlotte woman is reported to have contracted COVID-19, even though she has not left her house in three weeks. Given that the virus is transmitted through human contact, the situation poses quite the conundrum. . .

“I’m absolutely terrified,” Rachel Brummert told MSN. “This is the sickest I’ve ever been, and it’s the most scared I’ve ever been. From what I’m hearing about ventilators, it’s scary stuff. I’m really hoping I can wait this out at home.”

Brummert is a high-risk patient as she already has an autoimmune disorder. That’s why she made sure to listen to the experts and stay at home. Brummert indicated that she hadn’t left her house once in three weeks. . .

The only people Brummert had come in contact with were the pharmacist, her husband, who is temporarily living in a separate room, and a woman who volunteered to drop off groceries. Unfortunately, that woman later tested positive for COVID-19. . .

Brummert also insists that she wears gloves when having any contact with the outside world such as getting her mail. In general, however, she avoids all external contact and won’t even order take-out meals. (Read more from “Woman Tests Positive for Coronavirus but She Hasn’t Left Her House for Three Weeks” HERE)
