Former Obama Acting DHS Inspector General Indicted

A federal grand jury in the District of Columbia has indicted former acting inspector general for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Charles K. Edwards, and his former subordinate, Murali Yamazula Venkata, on 16 counts for their alleged theft of “proprietary software and confidential databases from the U.S. government as part of a scheme to defraud the U.S. government,” according to a press release from the DOJ. Edwards served as acting IG for the Department of Homeland Security from 2011 to 2013. The DOJ announced the charges against Edwards and Venkata on Friday.

According to the allegations in the indictment, from October 2014 to April 2017, Edwards, Venkata, and others executed a scheme to defraud the U.S. government by stealing confidential and proprietary software from DHS Office of Inspector General (OIG), along with sensitive government databases containing personal identifying information (PII) of DHS and USPS employees, so that Edwards’s company, Delta Business Solutions, could later sell an enhanced version of DHS-OIG’s software to the Office of Inspector General for the U.S. Department of Agriculture at a profit. Although Edwards had left DHS-OIG in December 2013, he continued to leverage his relationship with Venkata and other DHS-OIG employees to steal the software and the sensitive government databases.

The indictment further alleges that, in addition to stealing DHS-OIG’s software and the sensitive government databases, Venkata and others also assisted Edwards by reconfiguring his laptop so that he could properly upload the stolen software and databases, provided troubleshooting support whenever Edwards required it, and helped him build a testing server at his residence with the stolen software and databases, which contained PII. As further part of the alleged scheme, Edwards retained software developers in India for the purpose of developing his commercial alternative of DHS-OIG’s software.

Venkata is also accused of destroying records. (Read more from “Former Obama Acting DHS Inspector General Indicted” HERE)

RED FLAG MANIA: New York Must Issue Extreme Risk Protection Order Against Chuck Schumer for Threatening SCOTUS

Today, America’s premier gun rights organization, Gun Owners of America, has called on the State of New York to strip Senator Charles Schumer of any firearms in his possession using an Extreme Risk Protection Order (also known as a “Red Flag” order). This follows Sen. Schumer’s March 4 threats against two Supreme Court justices that they “have released the whirlwind” and “will pay the price.” Schumer claimed that they would not “know what him [them]” if they voted against abortion rights in an upcoming decision.

Although GOA opposes Red Flag laws, it points out that the New York law squarely applies to individuals like Schumer who have made such threats:

The finding required under YOUR Red Flag law is “that there is probable cause to believe the respondent is likely to engage in conduct that would result in serious harm to himself, herself or others….” Further, in determining whether grounds exist for issuance of a red flag order, “the court shall consider any relevant factors, including … a threat … directed toward … another person.

GOA pointed out that Red Flag laws are used disproportionately on poor citizens and challenged New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo that,

if you believe that it should apply to the ruling class as well as those ruled, then will the nation soon see reports that you will be directing an appropriate official to seek a red flag order against Senator Schumer? We understand that Senator Schumer is, like you, a member of the Democrat Party, and, like you, is a powerful New York politician. Moreover, he actively supported YOUR New York Red Flag law, as well as adoption of such laws elsewhere. Do these factors give him immunity for violating the law you improvidently signed? If you do not enforce YOUR law against Senator Schumer, the American People will understand that gun laws are intended to be used selectively to suppress minorities, the politically powerless, and political opponents. Additionally, it will demonstrate that in New York there is one law for the rich and powerful, and another law for the rest of The People.

GOA then attached a draft Application for Temporary Extreme Risk Protection Order to its letter, to help expedite the Governor’s action against Schumer.

We’re not holding our breath, but turnabout is fair play . . .

WATCH: Bill Clinton Finally Explains Why He Had an Affair With Monica Lewinsky—and It’s as Lame as You’d Expect

If you ever wanted to know exactly why Bill Clinton had an affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky, he’s got an explanation for you now.

The 42nd president reveals in the forthcoming Hulu documentary “Hillary” that he had the affair because it helped to “manage my anxieties,” resulting from the pressures of the presidency. His affair, he claims, was a distraction from those pressures.

“You feel like you’re staggering around, you’ve been in a 15-round prize fight that was extended to 30 rounds and here’s something that will take your mind off it for a while, that’s what happens,” he said. “Because there, whatever life — not just me. Everybody’s life has pressures and disappointments, terrors, fears of whatever. Things I did to manage my anxieties for years. I’m a different, totally different person than I was, a lot of that stuff 20 years ago,” he said.

“What I did was bad but it wasn’t like: how can I think about the most stupid thing I could and do it,” he added. “It’s not a defense, it’s an explanation. I feel awful.”

The Muslim Migrant Attack in St. Louis You Heard Nothing About

St. Louis resident Alicia Clarke says she feels as if she has been “failed by the system” and is now “not feeling safe,” and she has good reason to feel this way. After she was savagely beaten and stabbed by her neighbor, her attacker walked free. The court considered it decisive that he has an IQ of 49. He is also a Muslim migrant, which may explain both the reluctance to prosecute him and the scant and incomplete coverage this incident has received.

St. Louis’ KSDK reported Monday that Clarke went out for a run near her home; when she returned, her cell phone was missing. Tracking it with Find My iPhone to her neighbor’s backyard, she went to get it, and told her neighbor, “I know you did this and I’m calling the police!” At that point the neighbor, whom KSDK describes only as a “6-foot teen,” attacked her.

“He knocked me down, pulling my hair, kicking,” Clarke recounted. When he finally stopped the attack, Clarke called the police. But then he returned: “I am on the phone with St. Louis police dispatch,” she said, “making my way to my backdoor, when he comes back with a weapon. He is on top of me. There was blood everywhere. I was literally fighting for my life at that point.” . . .

And it gets worse. Alicia Clarke’s sister, Andrea Clarke Flatley, wrote on Facebook that the attacker gave his sister a broken nose, and that Alicia Clarke now also has “staples in her head and stitches to the puncture wound under her eye” as a result of the attack. Flatley noted that the attacker, whom she named as Hassan, “is a 15 year old refugee from Somalia who lives with his family. He is 6’ and approx 175lbs, much larger than my sister. He has broken into Alicia’s car 3 different times and broken into another neighbor’s house. The police were involved every single time and reported that nothing could be done since he was a minor. Surely this time would be different, though.” . . .

Alicia Clarke was failed not only by law enforcement authorities, but also by the establishment media. The KSDK story contains no hint of the fact that the attacker was a Muslim migrant. It was left to the victim’s sister to reveal that on Facebook. It is clear from KSDK’s refusal to note this detail, which could be important to the case in establishing motive or in other ways, that Muslim migrants are a protected class in America today, at least among the media elites. The establishment media avoids reporting on anything that might reflect poorly upon them. (Read more from “The Muslim Migrant Attack in ST. Louis You Heard Nothing About” HERE)

Joe Biden REALLY Thinks President Trump Is Afraid of Him; Opinion: If Dems Pick Biden to Face Trump, ‘Hallelujah Because Donald Trump Is Going to Kick His Butt’

By Breitbart. Democratic presidential hopeful former Vice President Joe Biden said Wednesday on MSNBC that President Donald Trump “risked his presidency” because he did not want to face him in the general election.

Biden was referencing the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives’ articles of impeachment against Trump for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, which were voted down by the Republican-controlled Senate. . .

Biden said, “I don’t think the president wants to face me. I will beat him, period. Period. He’s done everything in his power— he’s even risked his presidency because he doesn’t want to face me.” (Read more from “Joe Biden Thinks President Trump Is Afraid of Him” HERE)

Jason Chaffetz: If Dems Pick Biden to Face Trump, ‘Hallelujah Because Donald Trump Is Going to Kick His Butt’

By Fox News. Former Utah congressman and Fox News contributor Jason Chaffetz said on “Outnumbered Overtime” on Wednesday that if Democrats are going to choose former Vice President Joe Biden as their nominee then “hallelujah because Donald Trump is going to kick his butt.”

The former Chairman of the House Oversight Committee reacted after Biden won ten of 14 state primaries on Super Tuesday, surging to victory in a series of contests across the South and beyond, while Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., claimed a sizable win in delegate-rich California, setting up a battle between the two men that is likely to drag on for weeks, or longer.

“In terms of messaging, you can’t have somebody who fumbles the ball more than Joe Biden so if that’s the messenger, it’s a messenger from the past, it’s not vibrant, it’s not exciting, it’s not the future and it is embarrassing to watch on a daily basis,” Chaffetz said.

“I think Donald Trump is stronger politically than he’s ever been before,” Chaffetz added on Wednesday. “If he plays his A-game, I think he will dominate and win by a bigger margin than he beat Hillary Clinton [by]. There were a lot of Republicans that didn’t vote for Donald Trump, and I think he gets nearly 100 percent of the Republicans going into the election.” (Read more from “Jason Chaffetz: If Dems Pick Biden to Face Trump, ‘Hallelujah Because Donald Trump Is Going to Kick His Butt'” HERE)

Kellyanne Conway’s Husband Donates Max Amount to This Candidate’s Campaign

George Conway, the husband of Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway, revealed on Tuesday that he donated $2,800 to former Vice President Joe Biden’s presidential campaign, the maximum contribution allowed by law from an individual to a candidate committee.

New York magazine’s Washington correspondent Olivia Nuzzi tweeted that Conway told her that he tried giving $5,600 but the “website wouldn’t take it. They need to change that.” Nuzzi also tweeted that Conway explained his donation by saying, “the nation can’t afford four more years with a megalomaniacal moron in the White House.”

A longtime critic of his wife’s boss, Conway is a co-founder of the Lincoln Project, an anti-Trump super PAC.

In a December New York Times op-ed, the group denounced what it called the “corruption and corrosive nature of Donald Trump.”

“Over these next 11 months, our efforts will be dedicated to defeating President Trump and Trumpism at the ballot box and to elect those patriots who will hold the line,” said the piece which was signed by George Conway and Republican strategists Rick Wilson, Steve Schmidt and John Weaver. Conflict of Interest: GOP Rep. Duncan Hunter’s Prosecutors Attended Hillary Clinton Fundraiser

. . .Duncan Hunter submitted court documents on Tuesday claiming that the criminal indictment against him should be dismissed because two of the U.S. Attorneys who prosecuted his case displayed a clear conflict of interest by attending a fundraiser for then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in 2015.

Hunter, who pleaded guilty to one count of misusing campaign funds in December, submitted the motion to dismiss in advance of his March 17 sentencing hearing; he faces a maximum of five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

Hunter’s defense lawyers argued that the prosecutors were required to recuse themselves from his case because their attendance at the fundraiser constituted a conflict of interest and appearance of a loss of impartiality in accordance with the U.S. Attorney’s Manual.

“Here, the former Acting US Attorney for the Southern District of California and the Assistant US Attorney leading the investigation of Congressman Hunter both attended a political fundraiser for candidate Clinton and shortly thereafter both were involved in initiating an investigation of the first Congressman to endorse candidate Trump,” Hunter’s attorneys wrote. “The Defendant argued those facts alone warranted recusal.” (Read more from “Conflict of Interest: GOP Rep. Leak Of Crossfire Hurricane Agent’s Identity To The NYT Suggests More To Come

Last week, The New York Times outed Crossfire Hurricane Case Agent #1 as Stephen Somma. Crossfire Hurricane is the Obama administration’s secret surveillance of the Trump campaign on the pretext of collusion with Russia that was later disproven by a two-year special counsel probe.

In a story headlined “National Security Wiretap System Was Long Plagued by Risk of Errors,” SpyGate denier Charlie Savage and his co-author, Adam Goldman, portrayed the egregious Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuse targeting former Trump campaign advisor Carter Page as typical of the missteps made in other, less politically sensitive FISA court cases.

Of course, as Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s 400-plus page report detailed, the FISA abuse in the Trump campaign was very unusual and very excessive—and the formerly unnamed Case Agent #1 played a large part in the plot to target the Trump campaign.

As such, the leak of Somma’s identity to the pair of favored New York Times journalists looks like an attempt to preempt, and thereby soften, damaging information soon to come. We saw a very similar tactic when the Times ran an article shortly before Horowitz’s report dropped that revealed government lawyer “Kevin Clinesmith, altered an email that officials used to prepare to seek court approval to renew the wiretap.”

The Times’ reveal of Case Agent #1’s identity will likely prove to be a tell that the spotlight will soon shine on Somma. With this in mind, a re-read of the IG report unearths several details now carry new significance. Super Tuesday Results; Warren Finishes Last; Biden Confuses His Wife for His Sister During Super Tuesday Victory Speech (VIDEO)

Biden Surges to Victory Across Super Tuesday Map, as Sanders Claims Delegate Prize in California

By Fox News. Former Vice President Joe Biden surged to victory in Super Tuesday contests across the South and beyond, while Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., claimed gold in delegate-prize California – divvying up the map on the biggest primary day of the season and indicating a tight battle between the two that is likely to drag on for weeks or more.

The second-biggest contest, in Texas with 228 pledged delegates, is currently too close to call. With 77 percent of precincts reporting, Biden is ahead of Sanders by 3 percentage points. Because delegates are awarded proportionally, both candidates are likely to receive a similar share of delegates from Texas regardless of the ultimate winner of the popular vote there.

Maine’s race call is also outstanding. With 64 percent of precincts reporting, Sanders and Biden are within one percentage point.

But the headline of the night was the former vice president’s remarkable comeback after his poor performances in Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nevada earlier this year. Biden won the most contests Tuesday – though who came out ahead in the delegate race remains unclear – and certainly outperformed expectations from just a week ago. . .

Biden so far is projected to win Massachusetts, Minnesota, Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. Sanders handily won his home state of Vermont and later racked up wins in Colorado and Utah, in addition to California, Fox News projects. California and its 415 delegates amounted to the biggest prize on the map on Tuesday. Biden Wins Massachusetts, Warren Finishes Last

By Townhall. Polls are closed in Massachusetts, and the race was a three-way fight between Sens. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and former Vice President Joe Biden. Super Tuesday always presented a fight for Sen. Warren, especially to win her home state. Sen. Warren has indicated that she will not exit the race tonight.

Biden is projected to be the winner of the Massachusetts primary, followed by Sen. Sanders in second and Sen. Warren coming in third in her home state.

Biden Confuses His Wife for His Sister During Super Tuesday Victory Speech

By Washington Examiner. Joe Biden opened up his victory speech on Super Tuesday by confusing his wife for his younger sister.

“It’s a good night. It’s a good night, and it seems to be getting even better,” the former vice president said Tuesday. “They don’t call it Super Tuesday for nothing.”

“This is my little sister Valerie,” Biden said, pointing to his wife. He quickly realized his mistake and said, “You switched on me!”

WATCH: Biden Slips Into Southern Drawl After Declaring South Carolina Victory; Bizarrely Claims He was Arrested in South Africa; Now He’s Already Making Excuses for Super Tuesday

By Breitbart. Former Vice President Joe Biden slipped into using a Southern accent while addressing supporters after a resounding win in the South Carolina primary.

Biden, who on Saturday won his first nominating contest despite having run for the presidency twice before, was all smiles at his victory party. Some on social media, however, noticed that the former vice president seemed to take on a Southern accent while speaking.

“If Democrats nominate me,” the 77-year-old Biden said midway through in his regular voice, before switching into an affected southern accent, “I believe, we can beat Donald Trump.”

The bizarre moment comes after a week of pronounced Biden gaffes while campaigning throughout South Carolina. First, Biden told an uncorroborated story about having been arrested while attempting to visit Nelson Mandela in a South African prison sometime in the late-1970s. The story, which vexed both allies and critics, was quickly walked back, but not before generating headlines. Biden Calls SC Primary ‘Real Comeback’ as He Sets Sights on Super Tuesday

By Fox News. Former Vice President Joe Biden called his victory in Saturday night’s South Carolina Democratic primary “a real comeback” as he looks to carry momentum into the upcoming Super Tuesday primaries.

Biden, who appeared on “Fox News Sunday,” seemed confident that the South Carolina win shows he can challenge his Democratic presidential primary rival Bernie Sanders and reclaim the mantle as his party’s front-runner in the race to battle President Trump in November’s general election.

“It’s a big boost,” Biden said. “I think it starts the real comeback and we picked up a lot of delegates.” (Read more from “Biden Calls SC Primary ‘Real Comeback’ as He Sets Sights on Super Tuesday” HERE)

Biden Is Already Making Excuses for Super Tuesday

By Townhall. Having finally won an election, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is already making excuses ahead of Super Tuesday. Biden won a decisive victory in South Carolina on Saturday, but 14 other states are voting this week, and some of the polls aren’t looking very promising for the gaffe-prone former veep. On NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday, host Chuck Todd asked the candidate about his prospects on Super Tuesday, specifically in California where some 416 delegates are up for grabs. Biden refused to set any specific standards to measure his performance ahead of Tuesday’s elections.

“What is a good night for you in California?” Todd asked the candidate.

“Again, I’m not going to speculate what’s good and bad,” Biden told Todd. “We have had limited funds to begin with, number one. Number two, the first two caucuses and primary did hurt the campaign in terms of whether or not people thought that we were likely to win, and it did have some impact.” . . .

“Look, I haven’t had the kind of money that Bernie’s been working on for a long, long time here, and he’s done a great job of it,” Biden admitted. “I haven’t had that kind of staff. I have a significant number of endorsements and quality people from the mayor of Los Angeles to Barbara Boxer to people like Diane Feinstein and serious, serious people in the state. But that’s not enough. It’s hard to put people on the ground when you haven’t had the tens of millions of dollars other people have had.”

But money doesn’t seem to be helping Michael Bloomberg either, who trails Biden in both California and national polls. It didn’t help Tom Steyer, who had a lot more money than Biden, and also the decency to drop out following another loss in South Carolina on Saturday.
