The DOJ Inspector General Releases ‘Damning’ Report on James Comey; Trump Takes Comey To The Woodshed

By PJ Media. [T]he Inspector General of the Department of Justice released its report on former FBI Director James Comey, “Report of Investigation of Former Federal Bureau of Investigation Director James Comey’s Disclosure of Sensitive Investigative Information and Handling of Certain Memoranda.”

Page 2:

Upon completing our investigation, pursuant to Section 4(d) of the Inspector General Act of 1978, the OIG provided a copy of its factual findings to the Department for a prosecutorial decision regarding Comey’s conduct. See 5 U.S.C.A. App. 3 § 4(d) (2016). After reviewing the matter, the Department declined prosecution. Thereafter, we prepared this report to consider whether Comey’s actions violated Department or FBI policy, or the terms of Comey’s FBI Employment Agreement. As described in this report, we conclude that Comey’s retention, handling, and dissemination of certain Memos violated Department and FBI policies, and his FBI Employment Agreement.

Page 61:

We have previously faulted Comey for acting unilaterally and inconsistent with Department policy. Comey’s unauthorized disclosure of sensitive law enforcement information about the Flynn investigation merits similar criticism. In a country built on the rule of law, it is of utmost importance that all FBI employees adhere to Department and FBI policies, particularly when confronted by what appear to be extraordinary circumstances or compelling personal convictions. Comey had several other lawful options available to him to advocate for the appointment of a Special Counsel, which he told us was his goal in making the disclosure. What was not permitted was the unauthorized disclosure of sensitive investigative information, obtained during the course of FBI employment, in order to achieve a personally desired outcome.

Trump Takes James Comey to the Woodshed, Who Just Got Blasted by DOJ Inspector General

By Townhall. . .Yeah, if this is just an appetizer to the full-course meal we’re about to be served regarding FISA and the origins of the Russia collusion, we’re about to have a hell of a Fall concerning Deep State antics—and it could be scorching for Democrats. The dirty laundry is about to be aired. Will there be any accountability? It remains to be seen. I doubt it. But it will give the Trump White House and conservative America reassurances in their feelings about the elites, the intelligence community, and the notion that there were actors acting not in accordance with established department policy in an effort to tilt the 2016 election. And the fish rots from the head.

Oh yeah, where was Trump when this news broke? Well, he took to Twitter to take his turn slamming Comey for his conduct as head of the FBI.

“Perhaps never in the history of our Country has someone been more thoroughly disgraced and excoriated than James Comey in the just released Inspector General’s Report. He should be ashamed of himself!,” he wrote.

Does This Federal Appellate Case Risk Killing the Electoral College?

. . .Last week, three years after Trump won the election, the U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals issued a ruling over Micheal Baca’s “faithless electing.” Baca was a Hillary-hating Democratic elector in Colorado; in 2016, he cast his ballot for Ohio Gov. John Kasich, despite Clinton having won Colorado’s popular vote. Colorado’s Secretary of State then removed Baca as an elector, threw out his vote, and replaced him with a Hillary voter. Baca sued for violation of his civil rights, and that case made its way up to the 10th Circuit.

Now’s a good time to point out that votes of electors are governed by state law; that means, of course, that the specifics on those laws vary from state to state. Some statutes specifically spell out what happens if an elector goes rogue, and others do not. While examining Colorado’s response to Baca’s refusal to fall in line, the 10th Circuit took a gander at the U.S. Constitution — specifically, the Twelfth Amendment. Writing for the 2-1 majority, Appellate Judge Carolyn McHugh ruled that for quite some time now, we’ve been getting things wrong.

According to Judge McHugh, the framers of the Constitution said what they meant and meant what they said; if they used the word “vote” to describe the electors’ function, they really meant “vote,” with all the independent judgment that the word implies. Colorado, the judge ruled, shouldn’t be interfering:

We therefore agree with Mr. Baca that the use of these terms supports a determination that the electors, once appointed, are free to vote as they choose. And if that freedom emanates directly from the Constitution, state law cannot strip it away.

. . .

The next few weeks will be critical for the future of the electoral college. If certiorari is sought in the Colorado case, litigants will have a compelling argument that the case presents an important split among the circuits. And if the case is taken up by the high court, it may find itself landing on friendly soil. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has already gone on record saying that she would support changes to the electoral college system. 2005 Video Surfaces, Shows Pic of Epstein and Mistress Inside White House, Underage Girls at Mansion; Also, US Government Gave Epstein Passports for Minor Girls

By Business Insider. Resurfaced video from a 2005 police raid on Jeffrey Epstein’s Florida mansion shows a mysterious photo that appears to be of him and Ghislaine Maxwell in the White House.

The video was shot by officers from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office inside Epstein’s $16 million Palm Beach mansion on October 10, 2005. It was republished by the Daily Mail this week.

A photo collage in the footage includes a photo of a gray-haired man resembling Epstein and a dark-haired woman resembling Maxwell, who’s been accused of acting as his madam, standing in front of a White House logo, a backdrop that appears to match the White House press briefing room.

Insider has not been able to verify the photo. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Epstein was known to be close with former US President Bill Clinton, who rode on Epstein’s plane on several occasions in the months after leaving the White House in January 2001. (Read more from “2005 Video Surfaces Showing Pic of Jeffrey Epstein and Mistress Inside the White House” HERE)

Video from 2005 Raid on Jeffrey Epstein’s Estate Shows Images of Underage Girls

By The New York Post. Newly surfaced video from a 2005 police raid on Jeffrey Epstein’s sprawling Palm Beach estate offers a disturbing glimpse into the late pedophile’s tastes — including photographs of scantily clad underage girls, according to reports.

Detectives investigating Epstein’s alleged sexual relationships with young girls enter the mansion with guns drawn and read a search warrant to the house manager.

“The court, being satisfied of the existence of said ground [for search] set forth in the affidavit and that the laws of the State of Florida have been violated in or on a premises known and described as follows, to wit 358 El Brillo Road,” one detective reads, according to footage obtained by CBS 12.

The officers then sweep through the $16.4 million waterfront compound, where they come across a photo of a girl who appears to be about 6 years old bending over in a short dress with her behind exposed, according to the Daily Mail. Authorities blurred the image. (Read more from “Video from 2005 Raid on Jeffrey Epstein’s Estate Shows Images of Underage Girls” HERE)

U.S. Government Gave Epstein’s Minor Girls Passports; Who Did Epstein Own in the State Department?

One of the women accusing Jeffrey Epstein of sexual abuse, Chauntae Davies, is vowing to continue her fight for justice after his death. In an exclusive interview with “CBS This Morning,” Davies shared her story and told Gayle King she’s suspicious of the way Epstein died. . .

“The first encounter I had with him, he masturbated in front of me,” Davies said. “And obviously, that alone should have been enough for me to never come back, but the way that they were able to orchestrate and manipulate the situation, you know, led me to believe that something like that wouldn’t happen again so I did go back a second time” . . .

“It was about the third or fourth encounter meeting, the two of them, where things progressed to rape,” Davies said. . .

“I’m still trying to understand. There’s a lot of anger that I have for myself,” Davies said. “Immediately, the power that this man had was evident. He made it very clear, Ghislaine made it very clear. He had powerful figures photographed all over his residences. Even in one of the first couple trips they even somehow got me a passport.” (Read more from this story HERE)

You Just Can’t Make This Up: This Is What California Dems Are Proposing to Address Its Rat Problem

California’s decades-long affair with liberal politics has brought disease—literally. Rats are overrunning parts of the state. It’s only amplified by the rising homelessness crisis. For a region of the country that is smug, wealthy, and condescending to no end about how great they are—they do have a lot of bums in the street, fecal matter in the street, and hypodermic needles in the street. San Francisco is covered in crap. And the solution is quite simple: clean up the damn cities. But that would mean be mean to homeless people or something. Well, they’re ground zero for the rat infestation, which has brought back diseases we haven’t seen on such a daily basis since medieval times. Typhus has broken out. Police stations in Los Angeles were forced to pay fines that soared into the thousands of dollars due to the unsanitary conditions. City hall is running wild with rats. And now the state EPA office in Sacramento was forced to close its outdoor playground due to their rat problem; they were worried about kids getting sick. And what is the state proposing now? Oh, they want to ban rat poison (via WSJ):

Democrats in Sacramento are now moving legislation to ban “second-generation” rodenticides that are more potent than earlier poisons against which rats have developed immunity. “Predatory species, such as raptors, bobcats, and foxes, regularly consume rodents as part of their diet. Poisoned rodents also become more lethargic and exhibit abnormal behavior,” a bill analysis notes. But “data are less conclusive in pointing to [anticoagulant rodenticides] as the specific cause of death in necropsied animals.”

More Evidence of Murder In Epstein Case: Video Footage Outside of Cell Mysteriously Unavailable; Prince Andrew Emails with Jeffrey Epstein Spark FBI Interest

By The New York Post. Footage from at least one camera in the hallway outside the cell where authorities say Jeffrey Epstein hanged himself is unusable by investigators probing his death — although other captures nearby are clearer, according to a new report.

Three people familiar with the investigation by the FBI and the Justice Department’s inspector general told the Washington Post that it wasn’t immediately known why some of the footage from outside the disgraced financier’s cell is too flawed to review — or what precisely can be seen in portions that are usable.

It’s unclear whether the flaw in the footage affected only a small segment of what was recorded, or whether it’s a persistent problem at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, where Epstein was housed, the paper reported.

A Bureau of Prisons spokesperson declined to comment to the outlet, as did FBI spokespeople, the Justice Department and the US Attorney’s Office in Manhattan. (Read more from “More Evidence of Murder In Epstein Case: Video Footage Outside of Cell Mysteriously Unavailable” HERE)

Prince Andrew emails with Jeffrey Epstein likely to draw FBI interest: report

By Fox News. The FBI is likely to examine any emails Prince Andrew may have exchanged with Jeffrey Epstein as part of its ongoing probe into the financier’s alleged sex trafficking ring, according to a report.

A source said a “forensic” sweep of emails will tell if Epstein’s friends knew anything incriminating, the Daily Telegraph reported Monday.

A significant line in the probe is two desktop computers and an Apple device seized from Epstein’s private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands, according to the tabloid. . .

On Saturday, Andrew broke his silence on Epstein to deny ever witnessing any of the convicted sex offender’s criminal behavior during the “limited time” they spent together.

He said in a statement that their friendship began in 1999 and that it was a “mistake and an error” to see Epstein in 2010. The visit took place a year after Epstein finished serving time in prison for soliciting prostitution from a minor. These High Blood Pressure Drugs May Protect Against Parkinson’s, Dementia, Huntington’s

In several recent studies, scientists have found that common high blood pressure drugs may help protect the brain and prevent chronic brain diseases.

For example, researchers from the University of Cambridge found that a prescribed high blood pressure drug felodipine may help prevent Huntington’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. . .

The researchers tested the drug on mice and found that the drug was effective to reduce the risk of Huntington’s and Parkinson’s disease. . .

In another study, researchers from the University of Leipzig in Germany shows that several high blood pressure drugs are linked to lower dementia risk.

The drugs include angiotensin II receptor blockers, ACE inhibitors, calcium channel blockers, calcium channel blockers, and beta-blockers. (Read more from “These High Blood Pressure Drugs May Protect Against Parkinson’s, Dementia, Huntington’s” HERE)

NASA, Scientists Crush Climate Change Hysteria Around Amazon Fires — Here’s the Truth

While climate change alarmists spread fear over wildfires in the Amazon rainforest, data from NASA shows there is no reason for concern — or there should have been concern in past years.

From media outlets to politicians, the wildfires have sparked a wave of misinformation and hysteria. The wildfires are so frightening because the Amazon produces 20 percent of the world’s oxygen, they claim. Others alleged the fires could speed up climate change.

And even though fires are common, NASA analysis shows that current fire activity is at or below average.

As of August 16, 2019, an analysis of NASA satellite data indicated that total fire activity across the Amazon basin this year has been close to the average in comparison to the past 15 years. (The Amazon spreads across Brazil, Peru, Colombia, and parts of other countries.)

Though activity appears to be above average in the states of Amazonas and Rondônia, it has so far appeared below average in Mato Grosso and Pará, according to estimates from the Global Fire Emissions Database, a research project that compiles and analyzes NASA data.

WATCH: Dan Crenshaw Corrects Democrat Pastor for Supporting Socialism

Matt covered the insanity brought on by climate change protesters at the Democratic National Committee’s summer meeting this week. But, it isn’t just the party crashers who are saying truly outlandish things, it’s also the invited speakers. Progressive Pastor Rev. William Barber challenged Republicans on whether or not socialism is moral. He even invited the debate, saying Jesus would support the economic system. Luckily, we have Texas Republican Congressman Dan Crenshaw to explain to the preacher just how wrong he is.

“When we embrace moral language, we must ask does our policy care for the least of these? Does it lift up those who are most marginalized and dejected in our society? Does it establish justice? That is the moral question,” Rev. William Barber said to applause.

“If someone calls it socialism, then we must compel them to acknowledge that the Bible must then promote socialism, because Jesus offered free health care to everyone, and he never charged a leper a co-pay,” he added. . .

“Deliberate misreading of Biblical principles by DNC to promote socialism,” the freshman congressman tweeted. “The Bible teaches charity with one’s own time and money. Socialism teaches charity with other people’s time and money. So….not the same thing.”

Perhaps Rev. Barber, since he is interested in a moral debate, should be reminded of what Roman Catholic Pope John Paul II had to say on the subject. Socialism, the now-Catholic saint argued, disregards the sanctity of individual life. That’s why it’s truly evil and always leads to poverty, famine, and death. Census Could Reveal Electoral Extinction of the Republicans

The recent battle over a citizenship question on the 2020 census perked up ears and attention on both sides of the political aisle. Part of why there was the sharp division over this question comes from obvious partisan concerns. Governors of states with high numbers of illegal immigrants such as California and Texas realize that including the question would result in a loss of representation in Congress and the Electoral College, along with prospective federal funding changes. President Trump and his administration had wanted to return the historical question to the tally.

But there is also a fight over what the 2020 numbers tell us in terms of demographics and election results. The 2018 Texas Senate race and the stark transition of California into a Democratic stronghold intimates that changing immigration numbers could transform electoral politics for generations to come. Major alterations to immigration law since the 1960s have deprioritized migration from Europe and increased illegal entry at the border with Mexico. The Democrats are awaiting a majority minority nation, which could indeed become a reality over the next two decades.

Whites tend to vote Republican, while nonwhites tend to vote Democrat. This proved true in the 2016 election, when Trump carried white voters by 20 percent, while Hillary Clinton won 74 percent of nonwhite voters. With the number of Latinos living in the United States nearly doubling since 2000, it is not difficult to see why Texas could soon follow California, Colorado, and Nevada into the Democratic camp in the next 20 years.

Using the 2000 census and the 2010 census along with 2018 data, the electoral reality becomes more clear. The population of those under 18 will be majority nonwhite next year. Each of the major ethnic groups is expanding at different rates. By averaging the rate of annual population change between 2010 and 2018, we get an estimate of 2020 demographic figures. The number of Latinos will likely increase to nearly 63 million in 2020, an astounding 24 percent higher than in 2010. Latinos will comprise 19 percent of the overall population by 2020, up 50 percent from 2000. Finally, the proportion of whites as a percentage of the overall population will likely decline from 69 percent in 2000 down to 59 percent in 2020.

Should the demographic trends continue down the same path in future elections, there is a potential bloodbath for the Republican Party on the horizon. Due to the fact that the children of most recent immigrants are often under 18, modern elections actually underestimate the future voting potential of Latinos and other immigrant groups. In 2016, 29 percent of the electorate was nonwhite, but almost 40 percent of the country was nonwhite. Over the next decade, young nonwhites will reach the age of the majority of the electorate and begin their political participation. Court Orders State to Pay for Sex Offender’s Trans Surgery; Governor Refuses

Citing constitutional protections against inflicting “cruel and unusual punishments” on criminals, a panel of three judges on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on Friday that the State of Idaho must pay for the male-to-female gender reassignment surgery of an inmate sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexually abusing a 15-year-old boy. In response, Republican Gov. Brad Little vowed to make sure taxpayer money is not diverted to the sex offender’s surgery, particularly because the treating physician and multiple mental health professionals maintain that it is not medically necessary.

The Eighth Amendment of the Constitution states that “[e]xcessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted” on criminals. That amendment, a three-judge panel ruled Friday, requires the State of Idaho to pay for the $20,000 to $30,0000 sex reassignment surgery for Adree Edmo, a biological male convicted of sexually abusing a 15-year-old at the age of 22 and who claims to identify as a female.

Edmo began serving time in a male prison in 2012. In 2017, Edmo sued the state, claiming the state’s refusal to pay for the controversial and costly surgery was “cruel and unusual punishment.”

Last December, Federal District Judge B. Lynn Winmill sided with Edmo, ruling that the state should fund the surgery, a ruling the state appealed. On Friday, the panel agreed with Winmill, concluding that prison officials were “deliberately indifferent to Edmo’s gender dysphoria, in violation of the Eighth Amendment,” as reported by Boise State Public Radio. Prison officials, the panel wrote, have not provided for what the judges say are Edmo’s “medical needs” due to the “extreme suffering” caused by gender dysphoria.

Edmo, who is due for release in early 2021, has been diagnosed with gender dysphoria, a condition in which a person identifies as the opposite of his or her biogical sex. NPR notes that Edmo reportedly twice attempted “self-castration.” (Read more from “Court Orders State to Pay for Sex Offender’s Trans Surgery; Governor Refuses” HERE)
