Why This Rifle Maker Keeps Its Base of Operations in One of the Most Anti-Gun Parts of the Country

Indianapolis- It’s right there for all to see—and with pride: Henry—Made In America, or Not At All. That’s the mantra of Henry Repeating Arms, a gun manufacturer based out of Bayonne, New Jersey. Yes, I know. What’s the gun maker doing sticking around in one of the most anti-gun states in the country? It’s a question that the company’s president, Anthony Imperato, answered and it made total sense. We’ll get to that in a bit, but what kind of firearms does this company make? They’re lever action rifles and shotguns commonly seen in any Western film. Think Battle of the Little Big Horn. Okay—bad example, but the Clint Eastwood classic film “Unforgiven,” or “Pale Rider,” would feature rifles that Henry doles out on a daily basis. All parts are made in America, a phrase that’s become perilously close to ornamentation as more companies ship their production overseas. For Henry, that’s not an option. And it likes to be seen as a beacon, an example of an American company that’s thriving while still making its product in the good U.S. of A.

Townhall caught up with Mr. Imperato at the National Rifle Association’s Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana, where we got to learn a little more about his company. . .

As for Henry itself, it’s not Proctor and Gamble, but it employs 535 people in Wisconsin and New Jersey. Imperato said it’s not massive, but it’s “535 jobs that the state of Wisconsin and NJ are happy to have…well, maybe not the state of New Jersey,” he added with a chuckle. Of the 535 employees, 300 are based in Wisconsin, while 235 work out of the Garden State.

So, why stay, to put it bluntly, in an anti-gun hellhole? It’s very simple. It’s a family history. It’s also the fact that 235 people would probably have to find new jobs. That’s not acceptable either.

“I’m in the gun business because my grandfather had a police equipment gun shop in Lower Manhattan that dates back to 1911,” Imperato said of why he remains in the Tri-State area. “So, we’ve been on the east coast in the gun business for over 100 years, and with that–that whole region Connecticut, Massachusetts, etc. is considered gun valley, and if you want to lump New Jersey into it, now you can,” he added. Trump Tax Data Spanning Ten Years Revealed

By Breitbart. The New York Times has published the personal tax data of President Donald Trump spanning a decade’s worth of time from long before he was a candidate for president, saying the documents show that Trump lost more than a billion dollars in the timeframe of 1985 to 1994.

While not actual tax returns, the Times says the data includes never-before-public information from the tax returns–obtained from tax transcripts that glean data from the 1040 forms Trump filed with the IRS.

Times reporters Russ Buettner and Susanne Craig wrote in the piece published Tuesday evening:

By the time his master-of-the-universe memoir ‘Trump: The Art of the Deal’ hit bookstores in 1987, Donald J. Trump was already in deep financial distress, losing tens of millions of dollars on troubled business deals, according to previously unrevealed figures from his federal income tax returns. Mr. Trump was propelled to the presidency, in part, by a self-spun narrative of business success and of setbacks triumphantly overcome. He has attributed his first run of reversals and bankruptcies to the recession that took hold in 1990. But 10 years of tax information obtained by The New York Times paints a different, and far bleaker, picture of his deal-making abilities and financial condition. The data — printouts from Mr. Trump’s official Internal Revenue Service tax transcripts, with the figures from his federal tax form, the 1040, for the years 1985 to 1994 — represents the fullest and most detailed look to date at the president’s taxes, information he has kept from public view. Though the information does not cover the tax years at the center of an escalating battle between the Trump administration and Congress, it traces the most tumultuous chapter in a long business career — an era of fevered acquisition and spectacular collapse.

Liberal Group Urges Passage of New York Bill Allowing Congress Access to Trump’s State Tax Returns

By The Hill. The progressive group Stand Up America on Tuesday announced that it has launched an effort to encourage New York state lawmakers to pass legislation that would allow Congress to request President Trump’s state tax returns.

Stand Up America said that it has started efforts to have constituents call state senators to urge them to back the bill when it comes up for a vote. The group also said that its campaign will include digital ads, lobbying efforts and various grass-roots actions.

Other organizations are also partnering with Stand Up America on the effort, including Americans for Tax Fairness and Public Citizen.

Under the bill, known as the TRUST Act, the chairmen of Congress’s tax-writing committees would be able to request New York state tax returns from the state’s department of taxation and finance, so long as the request has a legitimate legislative purpose and lawmakers have requested related federal tax returns from the U.S. Treasury Department.

Rashida Tlaib’s Father Revealed Truth of Her Election Win in Resurfaced Article

In a March 11, 2010 newspaper article in The Detroit News, Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s (D-MI) father accused her of lying “big-time to get elected” by falsifying her address on an election affidavit.

Tlaib’s father, Harbi Elabed, made the accusations against Tlaib, who at the time was a freshman state-level representative from the 12th District in Detroit’s Southwest side. The newspaper article was scrubbed from the internet when The Detroit News migrated to a new website but was available in a subscription-based digital archive. The Detroit News reported:

He said his daughter misrepresented her residency when she signed an election affidavit in 2008 with the Wayne County Clerk claiming she was a citizen of Detroit.

According to that affidavit, Tlaib claimed she lived at 9123 Rathbone in Detroit. That house is owned in part by her father, Harbi Elabed, and he now says she did not live there and he was only recently made aware that she had claimed so.

“She lied,” Elabed said. “She lied big-time to get elected. I never teach her that way. I teach her the right way. It’s my house. She didn’t live there. Trump Sends ‘Clear and Unmistakable’ Message to Iran

By Daily Wire. The Trump administration is sending a carrier strike group and a bomber task force to the Middle East to send a “clear and unmistakable message” in response to “a number of troubling and escalatory indications and warnings.”

“The deployment comes less than a month after the Trump administration designated Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) a terrorist organization,” Fox News reported. “The deployment also comes amid the bloodiest fighting in five years between Israel and Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip.”

“In response to a number of troubling and escalatory indications and warnings, the United States is deploying the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group and a bomber task force to the U.S. Central Command region to send a clear and unmistakable message to the Iranian regime that any attack on United States interests or on those of our allies will be met with unrelenting force,” Bolton said. “The United States is not seeking war with the Iranian regime, but we are fully prepared to respond to any attack, whether by proxy, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or regular Iranian forces.”

Former Israeli national security adviser Yaakov Amidror said on Sunday that Iran was behind the increasing escalation in Gaza.

“What made Friday’s shooting on the IDF patrol interesting, Amidror said, was that it took place precisely when Hamas and Islamic Jihad leaders were in Cairo putting the finishing touches on an agreement drawn up by Egypt that was designed to ease the tension in the South,” The Jerusalem Post reported. “But while its leaders were in Cairo, Islamic Jihad fired on the soldiers. Trump Sending Navy Strike Group to Middle East to Send ‘Message’ to Iran

By Washington Examiner. The United States is deploying the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group and a bomber task force to the Middle East region in response to “troubling and escalatory indications and warnings” from the Iranian government. . .

The latest move continues to ratchet up tensions between Washington and Tehran. Last month, in a bid to put further pressure on the Iranian government, the Trump administration announced that it would stop providing waivers to countries that import Iranian oil. Also last month, the U.S. designated Iran’s Revolutionary Guard a foreign terrorist organization. Nunes and Fox News Commentator Suggest That the Entire Trump-Russian Collusion Lie May Have Been Initiated by FBI or the CIA

Representative Devin Nunes, the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, was interviewed yesterday about the mysterious “Professor Joseph Mifsud”, a Maltese national who was the supposed catalyst to the Trump-Russian collusion probe. Since the collusion story broke, no one has seen Misfud publicly.

Apparently suspecting FBI or CIA involvement from the beginning, Nunes demanded that by May 10, the agencies disclose exactly who employed Mifsud and further requested all recordings of volunteer Trump advisor George Papadopoulos’ conversations with him:

“If the FBI does in fact have transcripts of Papadopoulos talking to anyone … I think Congress, and the American people, have a right to know this because in fact we paid for it, and we had to deal with this for two and a half years. We had to suffer through this,” he told Fox correspondent Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures.”

Papadopoulos has said that Misfud is who originally told him that the Russians had emails from Hillary that could damage her presidential campaign.

Nunes also hammered Mueller for “cherry-picking” information about Misfud and ignoring his obvious connections to U.S. intelligence agencies: “They pick a news story, and then they cherry-pick from it. So, they use it partly to describe where Mifsud worked. But then they fail to say in that same story that they have given support to by using it in the Mueller dossier. . . They cherry pick it and they don’t use that Mifsud was described as a Western intelligence asset. . . How is it that we spent $30-plus million on [the Mueller report] as taxpayers. Yeah. And they can’t even tell us who Joseph Mifsud is… we’re getting to the bottom of this.”

Democrat Accidentally Admits Why They’re Really Seeking to Impeach Trump — and It’s on Video

By The Blaze. Allies of President Donald Trump are highlighting a statement from a Democratic member of Congress that they say reveals the true motivation behind the calls to have the president impeached.

Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) was defending his support for impeachment despite the practical political implications of such a controversial act by Congress, when he revealed the reasoning behind his advocacy.

“I’m concerned that if we don’t impeach this president, he will get re-elected,” said Green on MSNBC. “If we don’t impeach him, he will say he’s been vindicated.

“He will say the Democrats had an overwhelming majority in the House and didn’t take up impeachment,” he continued. “He will say we have a constitutional duty to do it if it was there and we didn’t. He will say he’s been vindicated.”

The comments made such a stir that the president responded from his Twitter account on Monday.

Julian Castro Renews Call for President’s Impeachment After Ex-Prosecutors Claim Trump Obstructed Justice

By Fox News. 2020 presidential candidate Julian Castro once again urged the House of Representatives on Monday to move forward with impeachment proceedings against President Trump.

Castro, a Democrat who served as mayor of San Antonio, Texas, before joining then-President Obama’s administration as Housing and Urban Development secretary, made his case hours after the release of a statement by hundreds of former federal prosecutors claiming Special Counsel Robert Mueller would have recommended indicting Trump for obstruction of justice if Trump weren’t president.

“The fact that you’d have almost 400 former federal prosecutors say that anybody else would have been charged with several felony counts for obstruction of justice, that says something,” Castro told Fox News on Monday.

Did You Notice Anything Odd About the Washington Post’s Headline About Louis Farrakhan’s Ban From Facebook?

The Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan is banned from Facebook. He’s done. Finished. And if we’re going by the rules of these social media empires, it was about time. The man has shared more than his fair share of bigoted views. He recently said that Jewish people were termites. Twitter did not suspend him, but you tweet “learn to code” to liberals—you could get yourself banned by the social media company, another example of there being two rules between liberal and conservative users. That’s a tale for another time. Farrakhan wasn’t the only one, Alex Jones and Milo Yiannopoulos are also banned (via NBC News):

Facebook announced Thursday that it plans to ban a group of far-right media personalities, as well as Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, from its social network and Instagram.

The ban affects Alex Jones and Milo Yiannopoulos, and other far-right figures and the conspiracy and far-right politics website Infowars.

Video of Muslim Children in the U.S. Reveals SHOCKING Remarks

By Daily Wire. Shocking footage of children in a Philadelphia Islamic center has emerged that shows them saying that they would “chop off…heads” for Allah.

“The Muslim American Society (MAS) Islamic Center in Philadelphia posted the video to its Facebook page celebrating ‘Ummah Day’ in which young children wearing Palestinian scarves sang and read poetry about killing for Allah and the mosque in Jerusalem,” Fox News reported. “One girl talks about martyrs sacrificing their lives without hesitation to conquer Jerusalem.”

“We will defend the land of divine guidance with our bodies, and we will sacrifice our souls without hesitation,” another girl says. “We will chop off their heads, and we will liberate the sorrowful and exalted Al-Aqsa Mosque. We will lead the army of Allah fulfilling His promise, and we will subject them to eternal torture.” . . .

The video sparked reaction online from some in the Muslim community, including Imam Mohamad Tawhidi, who tweeted: “We warn the West from what we fled from in the Middle East, but the West doesn’t want to listen. This is your next generation:”

On MAS’s website, the organization did condemn the recent anti-Semitic white nationalist terror attack against the synagogue in California and the organization did condemn the Islamic terrorist attacks last month in Sri Lanka on Christian churches on Easter day. Bombshell Collusion: DNC Reached out for Dirt on Trump, Ukraine Embassy Confirms

The boomerang from the Democratic Party’s failed attempt to connect Donald Trump to Russia’s 2016 election meddling is picking up speed, and its flight path crosses right through Moscow’s pesky neighbor, Ukraine. That is where there is growing evidence a foreign power was asked, and in some cases tried, to help Hillary Clinton.

In its most detailed account yet, Ukraine’s embassy in Washington says a Democratic National Committee insider during the 2016 election solicited dirt on Donald Trump’s campaign chairman and even tried to enlist the country’s president to help.

In written answers to questions, Ambassador Valeriy Chaly’s office says DNC contractor Alexandra Chalupa sought information from the Ukrainian government on Paul Manafort’s dealings inside the country, in hopes of forcing the issue before Congress. . .

Chaly says that, at the time of the contacts in 2016, the embassy knew Chalupa primarily as a Ukrainian-American activist, and learned only later of her ties to the DNC. He says the embassy considered her requests an inappropriate solicitation of interference in the U.S. election.

“The Embassy got to know Ms. Chalupa because of her engagement with Ukrainian and other diasporas in Washington D.C., and not in her DNC capacity. We’ve learned about her DNC involvement later,” Chaly said in a statement issued by his embassy. “We were surprised to see Alexandra’s interest in Mr. Paul Manafort’s case. It was her own cause. The Embassy representatives unambiguously refused to get involved in any way, as we were convinced that this is a strictly U.S. domestic matter. Ukraine Embassy Says DNC Operative Reached out for Dirt on Trump in 2016

Ukraine’s embassy wrote that a Democratic National Committee (DNC) insider reached out in 2016 seeking dirt on President Trump’s team, according to a bombshell new report Thursday that further fueled Republican allegations that Democrats were the ones improperly colluding with foreign agents during the campaign.

Ambassador Valeriy Chaly said DNC contractor Alexandra Chalupa pushed for Ukraine’s then-President Petro Poroshenko to mention Paul Manafort’s ties to Ukraine publicly during a visit to the U.S., and sought detailed financial information on his dealings in the country, The Hill reported. At the time, Manafort was Trump’s campaign chairman. . .

Chaly continued: “All ideas floated by Alexandra were related to approaching a Member of Congress with a purpose to initiate hearings on Paul Manafort or letting an investigative journalist ask President Poroshenko a question about Mr. Manafort during his public talk in Washington, D.C.” . . .

However, Chalupa acknowledged that she met with “representatives of the Ukrainian Embassy,” but said the topic of conversation was an “Immigrant Heritage Month women’s networking event.” She also told CNN that when Manafort was named Trump’s campaign chairman, she flagged for the DNC that Manafort had worked with the Russian-backed Viktor Yanukovych, Ukrainian’s president at the time.

Federal Election Commission (FEC) records confirm that Chalupa’s firm provided various services to the DNC in 2016, and that the DNC paid Chalupa more than $412,000 from 2004 to 2016. WATCH: Leftist Students Freak out, Get Arrested – Over a MAGA Hat

It appears another gaggle of left-wing college students have allowed the sight of a “Make America Great Again” hat — the iconic symbol of President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign that’s more or less become kryptonite to leftists — get the better of their decision-making skills and emotions.

A Texas State University student shot video Wednesday of what he told Campus Reform occurred after another student stole his MAGA hat amid a heated political discussion on campus. . .

An apparent officer is heard speaking to the student whose MAGA hat was allegedly stolen, asking if he wants to press charges, and the student responds that he does and then is directed to follow the person.

As the pair of handcuffed students are led away, someone is heard off camera stating, “If that’s not white privilege I don’t know what the f*** is.” . . .

Police said four students were arrested Wednesday but didn’t mention the MAGA hat. It isn’t clear what the fourth arrested student did in relation to the incident, as the clip shows only three in handcuffs.
