Child Calling for Gun Control Fails to Realize the Truth Behind Purchasing Guns

A student survivor of the deadly shooting attack earlier this month at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, appeared to claim that an AR-15 can be purchased for $130.

Addressing state lawmakers and members of the media last week, 17-year-old senior Delaney Tarr called for increased gun control regulations in the aftermath of the shooting, which left 17 people dead.

“We know what we want,” she stated. “We want gun reform. We want common-sense gun laws. We want stronger mental health checks and background checks to work in conjunction. We want a better age limit.”

Then, calling for regulations on private gun sales, she made a claim about how much it costs to buy an AR-15.

“We want privatized selling to be completely reformed so you can’t just walk into a building with $130 and walk out with an AR-15,” Tarr stated.

Tarr’s concerns over the AR-15 stem from the fact that the suspected gunman in the Florida school shooting did indeed use that type of semi-automatic firearm to murder his victims.

AR-15s are popular in the United States, and in Florida, there is no waiting period to purchase one. However, Tarr was vastly understating how much they normally cost.

According to Alain Stephens, a military veteran who currently serves as a criminal justice expert for NPR, some AR-15s can cost thousands of dollars. Even if a would-be buyer wanted to purchase a basic model at a local sporting goods store, he or she would be looking at spending at least $800.

As noted by Time magazine, many AR-15s cost less than $1,000. But that doesn’t take into account the hundreds of dollars one might spend on ammunition, extra magazines and additional accessories.

Regardless, it’s difficult to buy any gun for as little as $130, let alone an AR-15.

Though it’s unclear as to where Tarr got her facts regarding AR-15 prices, she admitted during the same speech that the movement to tighten gun control laws in the aftermath of the Florida shooting is “based on emotion.”

“This movement, created by students, led by students, is based on emotion,” she stated. “It is based on passion and it is based on pain. Our biggest flaws — our tendency to be a bit too aggressive, our tendency to lash out, things that you expect from a normal teenager — these are our strengths.”

“The only reason that we’ve gotten so far is that we are not afraid of losing money, we’re not afraid of getting reelected or not getting reelected, we have nothing to lose. The only thing we have to gain at this point is our safety,” she added, according to Quartz Media.

Though Tarr is not yet legally old enough to vote, she warned that she and her fellow students are “coming after” lawmakers who refuse to act.

“To every lawmaker out there: No longer can you take money from the NRA. No longer can you fly under the radar doing whatever it is that you want to do,” she stated, as reported by CNN. “We are coming after every single one of you and demanding that you take action.” (For more from the author of “Child Calling for Gun Control Fails to Realize the Truth Behind Purchasing Guns” please click HERE)

2 U.S. Congressman Detained on Temple Mount

. . .It identified the members of Congress as Republican Reps. Scott Tipton of Colorado and David B. McKinley of West Virginia.

They visited the Temple Mount, only to be “detained by Israel police after an Islamic Waqf official, which administers the Temple Mount, lodged a complaint against them,” the report said.

“It appears that they violated some unknown rule when Tipton bent down to pick up a broken olive branch off the ground. His movement seems to have agitated the Waqf official who, apparently believing the congressman was bowing as if in prayer, set off the events that followed.”

The report bluntly explains what happened. They were “physically removed from the Temple Mount by police officers, and frisked and detained for more than a half-hour.” . . .

Tipton told the news agency, “You know it was a little surprising. … We were going around and trying to take it all in and being rushed through, and I happened to pick up an olive branch, ironically a symbol of peace. Apparently, that broke a rule – not one that was defined. We had no forewarning going in of what to do and not to do, no instructions. … We were trying to take in what is obviously a religious site not only for Jews and Muslims, but for Christians as well. … Interestingly, apparently they viewed something as an infraction and then chose to detain us.” (Read more from “2 U.S. Congressman Detained on Temple Mount” HERE)

‘Insensitive’ Black History Month Meal Sparks Outrage, Firing

Two Aramark employees have been fired by the food service after preparing a meal at NYU during Black History Month that was deemed racially “insensitive.” Reports suggest that the employees are African-American, though Aramark has not confirmed details about the ethnicity of the fired employees.

According to CBS News, the two employees were fired as a result of a complaint by a sophomore, who says she confronted the head cook about the “racially insensitive” meal but was “lied to” and ultimately “ignored.” The meal, the student claimed in a Facebook post, consisted of barbecue ribs, collard greens, watermelon-flavored water, Kool-Aid, and mac and cheese.

“Sophomore Nia Harris, who is black, said the head cook dismissed her objections and told her black employees planned the menu,” reports CBS News. “She posted about the menu and her experience on Facebook, saying she ‘was lied to, placated, and ignored.'”

“This is what it’s like to be a black student at New York University,” Nia wrote in her Facebook post. “You go to a dining hall during February and you see ‘Black History Month Meal’ plastered outside the entrance. You walk inside the dining hall only to find ribs, collard greens, and mac and cheese.

“In 2018 I literally had to explain why displaying watermelon and koolaid in celebration of Black History Month was not only racially insensitive but just ignorant.” (Read more from “‘Insensitive’ Black History Month Meal Sparks Outrage, Firing” HERE)

Trump Shares Heartwarming Photo of Billy Graham and the Caption Couldn’t Be Better

Following the renowned evangelist’s death at the age of 99, President Donald Trump shared a heartwarming photo of the Reverend Billy Graham, and in the caption, he recalled a comforting quote from the preacher.

Trump shared a black and white photo Wednesday night that was originally posted by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. The picture shows the late reverend leading several black children by the hand in what appears to be a poverty-stricken area.

“When we all reach the end of our earthly journey, we will have just begun,” read the accompanying quote from Graham, indicating that he knew when he died, he was going to a better place.

Graham, who died early Wednesday morning at his home in Montreat, North Carolina, will be buried on the grounds of the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte alongside his wife, Ruth, according to Newsmax.

Graham’s funeral is set to be held on March 2, with the invitees including Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, as well as former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Jimmy Carter.

Trump’s Instagram post was far from the only way he honored the life of the Christian evangelist.

Hours after Graham died, the president took to Twitter to mourn the loss of the “GREAT” man. “There was nobody like him! He will be missed by Christians and all religions. A very special man,” Trump wrote.

Trump also issued a presidential proclamation ordering that flags on public grounds be flown at half-staff on the day of Graham’s funeral, and in an official statement, he recognized Graham’s role as “one of the towering figures” of the last century.

“Billy’s acceptance of Jesus Christ around his seventeenth birthday not only changed his life — it changed our country and the world,” Trump said. “He was one of the towering figures of the last 100 years — an American hero whose life and leadership truly earned him the title ‘God’s Ambassador.’”

“Billy’s unshakeable belief in the power of God’s word to transform hearts gave hope to all who listened to his simple message: ‘God loves you.’ He carried this message around the world through his crusades, bringing entire generations to faith in Jesus Christ,” the statement continued.

Many other national leaders and politicians also expressed their admiration for Graham.

Billy Graham’s son, the Reverend Franklin Graham, said that his father was a “humble” person who “never saw himself as a celebrity.”

“The Billy Graham that the world saw on TV or saw on the big screen was the same Billy Graham we saw at home. He wasn’t two people,” Franklin Graham told NBC’s “Today” on Thursday, while also noting that his father “would want to be remembered as a preacher.”

“When my mother passed away, we knew what she wanted on her tombstone, so I asked my father — so there wouldn’t be any argument among us children — I asked him, ‘Daddy, what do you want to be on your tombstone?’ And he thought about that and he said, ‘Preacher,’” Graham said.

“That’s what’s going to be on his tombstone: Preacher.” (For more from the author of “Trump Shares Heartwarming Photo of Billy Graham and the Caption Couldn’t Be Better” please click HERE)

Trump’s Solution for Mass Shootings

By Fox News. President Trump said Wednesday the administration is going to strengthen background checks for gun purchases and “put a strong emphasis on mental health,” as he promised students and families “we are going to get it done.”

The president, Vice President Mike Pence and Education Secretary Betsy DeVos hosted students, teachers and families affected by the Parkland high school shooting for a “listening session” at the White House Wednesday, which lasted close to two hours.

Exactly one week ago, 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz, whom the president described as “a sick guy,” opened fire at the high school and now is charged with killing 17 teachers and students with an AR-15 rifle.

“We are going to be very strong on background checks, and put a very strong emphasis on the mental health of somebody,” Trump said at the beginning of the listening session. “We’re going to talk and get it done. It’s been going on too long, too many instances and we’re going to get it done.”

Students and parents from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, along with Parkland city Mayor Christine Hunschofsky, attended the White House session, along with members of Sandy Hook Promise, a national non-profit organization based in Newtown, Connecticut and led by several family members whose loved ones were killed in the tragic Dec. 14, 2012 mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Students from Friendship Public Charter School, Parkmont, and Thurgood Marshall Academy in Washington, D.C. also attended. (Read more from “Trump’s Solution for Mass Shootings” HERE)

Special Prosecutor, Grand Jury May Be in Hillary’s Future Given Recent Moves by AG Sessions, New Revelations

By Politico. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is raising the possibility of naming a new special counsel to investigate potential wrongdoing by the Clinton Foundation, according to a letter the Justice Department sent Monday to House Republicans.

Sessions has asked top Justice Department prosecutors to look into a variety of allegations that have dominated conservative media outlets in recent months, including suggestions that a U.S. government panel approved the sale of a large uranium firm to Russian interests in exchange for donations to the foundation founded by Bill and Hillary Clinton, the letter to House members says.

“The Attorney General has directed senior federal prosecutors to evaluate certain issues raised in your letters,” Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd said in the letter obtained by POLITICO and sent to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), among others.

“These senior prosecutors will report directly to the Attorney General and the Deputy Attorney General, as appropriate, and will make recommendations as to whether any matters not currently under investigation should be opened, whether any matters currently under investigation, require further resources, or whether any matters merit the appointment of a Special Counsel,” Boyd added. Feds Face New Demands to Probe Hillary Clinton

By WND. . .Two new lawsuits have just been filed demanding answers from the “deep state bureaucracy” to a lot of questions about what went on under the Obama administration.

The lawsuits, one against the FBI and the Department of Justice, and another against the U.S. Department of Justice, the Department of State, the FBI and the Treasury Department, were filed by the public interest American Center for Law and Justice.

Citing “an all-too-familiar pattern and practice of failure by several federal bureaucratic agencies to comply with Freedom of Information Act requirements,” the ACLJ said it is suing to get the answers federal law requires those agencies provide.

“We are asking a federal court to order the agencies to issue determinations and produce documents responsive” to the ACLJ’s questions, the organization stated.

The complaints focus on the “sham Clinton investigation” concerning her use of an unauthorized and unsecured computer server for the nation’s classified secrets while Hillary Clinton was U.S. secretary of state, and the Uranium One scandal, when millions of dollars came from Russia to the Clinton Foundation just as she was on a committee authorizing Russian ownership of uranium assets. Arkansas and the Clinton Connection

By Judicial Watch. Rumors have been floating up from Little Rock for months now of a new investigation into the Clinton Foundation. John Solomon advanced the story recently in a January report for The Hill. FBI agents in the Arkansas capital, he wrote, “have taken the lead” in a new Justice Department inquiry “into whether the Clinton Foundation engaged in any pay-to-play politics or other illegal activities while Hillary Clinton served as secretary of state.” Solomon reports that the probe “may also examine whether any tax-exempt assets were converted for personal or political use and whether the foundation complied with applicable tax laws.” Main Justice also is “re-examining whether there are any unresolved issues from the closed case into Clinton’s transmission of classified information through her personal email server,” Solomon notes.

Solomon is not alone. The Wall Street Journal is tracking the story. And earlier this month, investigative journalist Peter Schweizer cryptically told SiriusXM radio that federal authorities should “convene a grand jury” in Little Rock “and let the American people look at the evidence” about the Clinton Foundation.

Judicial Watch continues to turn up new evidence of Clinton pay-to-play and mishandling of classified information. In recent months, through FOIA litigation, Judicial Watch has forced the release of more than 2,600 emails and documents from Mrs. Clinton and her associates, with more to come. The emails include evidence of Clinton Foundation donors such XL Keystone lobbyist Gordon Griffin, futures brokerage firm CME Group chairman Terrence Duffy, and an associate of Shangri La Entertainment mogul Steve Bing seeking special favors from the State Department. Mike Rowe’s Thoughts on the Florida Shooting Are the Best You Will Hear From Anyone

Mike Rowe shared his thoughts on the recent tragedy at Stoneman Douglas High School, and it will blow anything the establishment media has to say out of the water.

Rowe wrote on Facebook, “Evil is real. As long as humans have walked the earth, people have chosen to do evil things. This is what happened in Florida. A nineteen-year old man chose to do an evil thing. He planned it. He executed it. He succeeded.”

Rowe also said that while it’s important to find out the contributing causes of mass shooters, we shouldn’t absolve the killer of responsibility for his actions.

“Should we endeavor to know why? Absolutely. Should we discuss the impact of video games, accessible firearms, single-parents, no parents, powerful medications, social media, mental illness, bullying, or anything else we think might have encouraged him to choose evil over good? Without question.”

“But we should also stop confusing the influence of such things, with the root cause. Because nothing in this man’s past can possibly explain his decision to kill seventeen people,” Rowe added. ABC Pays the Price After Host Attacks Christianity on ‘the View’

“The View” co-host Joy Behar’s comparison of Christianity to a mental illness on last Tuesday’s program has prompted over 25,000 calls to flood into the ABC network in protest.

The Media Research Center watchdog group reported that this tally had come in as of Monday morning.

The segment where Behar made the comparison centered around a back-and-forth regarding Vice President Mike Pence’s faith, based on some recent comments made by former White House staff Omarosa Manigault.

“He’s extreme,” Manigault told Vanity Fair. “I’m Christian. I love Jesus, but he thinks Jesus tells him to say things. And I’m like, ‘Jesus ain’t say that.’”

First, co-host Sunny Hostin observed, “I think what’s interesting is she says that Jesus tells Mike Pence things to say.”

“When you have a Mike Pence that now puts this religious veneer on things and who calls people values voters, I think we’re in a dangerous situation,” she added. “Look I’m Catholic. I’m a faithful person, but I don’t know that I want my vice president, um — speaking in tongues and having Jesus speak to him.”

Behar chimed in, joking, “Like I said before, it’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you.”

“Exactly. That’s different,” Hostin replied.

“That’s called mental illness, if I’m not correct. Hearing voices,” said Behar.

The Bible, in fact, records in the Gospel of John that Jesus said regarding born-again believers, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”

He further described Himself as a good shepherd, “And when (a good shepherd) brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”

Pence responded to Behar’s put down of his faith in an interview that aired on Fox & Friends on Monday.

Host Ainsley Earhardt asked the vice president, “Is it hypocrisy that Liberals, Democrats, mainstream media, they preach tolerance, but yet when someone wants to be a Christian and says that God speaks to them, they have a problem with that?”

Pence responded that he is used to criticism, “But when I heard that ABC had a program that likened my Christianity to mental illness, I just couldn’t be silent.”

He continued, “Look, my Christian faith is probably the most important thing in my life. I do try and start every day reading the Bible. My wife and I try and have a prayer together before I leave the house every morning. But I do think I’m a very typical American.”

“I think (Behar’s comment) is evidence of how out of touch some in the mainstream media are with the faith and values of the American people,” Pence stated. (For more from the author of “ABC Pays the Price After Host Attacks Christianity on ‘the View'” please click HERE)

Pizza Workers Refuse to Serve Cop in Uniform, Then Get Served Some Justice They Won’t Soon Forget

A longtime Dora, Alabama, police officer was wearing his uniform when he visited a Little Caesars pizza restaurant in Sumiton last Tuesday to pick up dinner for his family — and had a little trouble getting his food.

That’s because two Little Caesars employees refused to serve the cop, WBMA-TV reported.

The officer and his family reported the incident to Little Caesars, and a corporate spokeswoman told WBMA an investigation revealed that the company’s core principals weren’t followed.

“The two employees were terminated the following morning,” Jill Proctor, Little Caesars Corporate Communications Manager, told the station.

Proctor added to WBMA that Little Caesars visited the Dora Police Department and gave all the officers free pizza. It appears that visit took place last Wednesday — the day after the incident in Sumiton.
