Report: Dept. of Veterans Affairs Orders End to Abortions, Abortion Counseling at Facilities

In a sweeping reversal to the Biden administration’s pro-abortion agenda, the Trump administration has barred the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) from aborting the unborn babies of veterans and their dependents.

The restriction follows a memo from Joshua Craddock, deputy assistant attorney general of the Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) on December 18 to the VA stating that the department is not allowed to perform abortions under any provision of the law, the Hill reported.

The memo revoked a Biden-era OLC opinion that allowed the VA to provide abortions and abortion counseling to pregnant veterans and their dependents. The pro-abortion Biden administration promulgated a rule in September 2022 allowing veterans and covered dependents to obtain taxpayer-funded abortions in cases of rape and incest and to protect the life or health of the pregnant woman, as well as abortion counseling. The Biden administration issued the rule in response to the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision, which overturned Roe v. Wade, a 1973 ruling that had invented a constitutional right to abortion.

Screenshots purportedly obtained by the outlet of a separate internal VA memo, dated December 22 and sent to the leaders of the department’s 18 regional integrated service networks, states that the agency “must comply” with the OLC’s memo and that the VA will no longer provide abortions or abortion counseling “effective immediately.”

The internal memo also notes that nothing about the VA’s policy “prohibit[s] providing care to pregnant women in life-threatening circumstances, including treatment for ectopic pregnancies or miscarriages.” (Read more from “Report: Dept. of Veterans Affairs Orders End to Abortions, Abortion Counseling at Facilities” HERE)

Surgeon Allegedly Shoved Crushed Abortion Pills Into Pregnant Girlfriend’s Mouth While She Slept

An Ohio surgeon is accused of stuffing crushed abortion pills into his girlfriend’s mouth while she slept after he learned she was pregnant — killing her [baby].

Hassan-James Abbas, a 32-year-old surgical resident at the University of Toledo, was able to easily obtain the abortion-inducing pills under his estranged wife’s name from from a telemedicine doctor, according to officials.

He then forced the medication into his girlfriend’s mouth last year, according to officials.

“He got on top of me and put his fingers in my mouth,” his girlfriend told WTOL 11.

“I laid there and I went back and forth in my head [wondering] if he was gonna kill me,” she added.

“That was my biggest thought, that he was going to kill me.” (Read more from “Surgeon Allegedly Shoved Crushed Abortion Pills Into Pregnant Girlfriend’s Mouth While She Slept” HERE)

New Law Lets Texans Sue Out-Of-State Dealers For Trafficking Abortion Drugs

A new law designed to combat Democrat laws shielding abortion drug traffickers who take advantage of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s radically expanded mail-order mifepristone allowances went into effect on Thursday in Texas.

Lone Star legislators passed House Bill 7 in September to create a punishment mechanism for illegal interstate abortion pill transactions and the dangerous and deadly consequences they hold for women and their unborn children.

Under the new statute, private citizens are permitted to sue out-of-state mifepristone prescribers, manufacturers, and distributors, such as pharmacies, for “an amount of not less than $100,000” for each violation of the state’s ban on abortion pills. Enforcement is modeled after Texas’ successful 2021 heartbeat bill, which virtually eliminated abortion in the state by granting anyone outside of the government to bring a civil action against anyone who performs or aids and abets ending a life in the womb.

Abortion activists have already dubbed the law a “dangerous” “attack” fueled by “fearmongering and intimidation.” Media such as the Houston Chronicle and The Guardian joined the dogpile with articles framing the law as a “bounty hunter” scheme.

“Abortion pill underground” coordinators, such as the Massachusetts Medication Abortion Access Project (MAP), have also committed in print and online to continue their drug smuggling schemes regardless of potential consequences. Fairfax County Schools Double Down After Whistleblower Exposes Secret Student Abortions

Back in August, a Fairfax County, VA teacher blew the whistle on her district helping girls get abortions without parental knowledge or consent.

As Townhall reported at the time, the district denied knowing anything about the abortions until recently, despite the whistleblower teacher making officials aware of them on multiple prior occasions.

Fairfax County Public School teachers have been helping students obtain abortions without the knowledge and consent of their parents, according to a whistleblower who recently exposed the scandal.

Now, the school district is claiming they just learned of the matter, even though the whistleblower, Centrevile High School teacher Zenaida Perez, had brought it to their attention on multiple occasions.

It’s a scandal and possibly criminal.

Now, the Fairfax Schools have published what amounts to a “Mean Girls” style burn book.

RFK Jr. Says FDA Is Investigating Dangerous Abortion Pill After Revealing Biden Admin ‘Twisted The Data’

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. confirmed in a Senate Finance Committee hearing Thursday that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is actively reviewing the drug responsible for more than half of the nation’s abortions.

“We’re getting data in all the time, new data that we’re reviewing,” Kennedy told Republican Sen. James Lankford. “And we know that during the Biden administration, they actually twisted the data to bury one of the safety signals with a very high safety signal, around 11 percent.”

Kennedy not only committed to ensuring “that that doesn’t happen anymore,” but also said “we’re producing … science and gold standard science on that.”

Kennedy affirmed in a later exchange with Montana Sen. Steve Daines that he was unsure of the type of studies FDA Commissioner Marty Makary and his agency are pursuing, but that they are “progressing” and “ongoing.”

“I know I talked to Marty Makary about it yesterday, and he said those studies are progressing and that they’re ongoing,” Kennedy said. (Read more from “RFK Jr. Says FDA Is Investigating Dangerous Abortion Pill After Revealing Biden Admin ‘Twisted The Data’” HERE)

Study Links Abortion to Higher Risk of Psychiatric Hospitalization

A recent study published in the Journal of Psychiatric Research has found that women who undergo induced abortion face more than twice the risk of psychiatric hospitalization compared to women who give birth.

The study, conducted in Quebec, Canada, analyzed more than 1.2 million pregnancies over a period of up to 17 years. Researchers reported that, per 10,000 person-years, 104 women who had abortions were hospitalized for mental health issues—including psychiatric disorders, substance abuse, and suicide attempts—compared to 42 women who gave birth.

The data also showed that women who had multiple abortions were at greater risk of hospitalization than those experiencing their first abortion. The likelihood of psychiatric hospitalization was highest within the first five years following an abortion. Researchers noted that women with preexisting mental health conditions were more vulnerable, and the study adjusted its findings to account for this factor.

The Quebec study is not the first to suggest a connection between abortion and subsequent mental health challenges. A 2023 study using Medicaid data similarly reported that women who had a first-pregnancy abortion were at higher risk of needing mental health treatment, particularly inpatient care, than those who carried to term.

Separate research has also highlighted medical risks associated with abortion procedures. Reports indicate that more than 10 percent of women who take the chemical abortion drug mifepristone experience serious adverse events, such as hemorrhaging or sepsis. Pro-life groups and some medical organizations have argued that the risks of mifepristone are underreported by both the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the drug’s manufacturer, Danco Laboratories.

Trump Admin Poised To Ditch Biden-Era Taxpayer-Funded Abortion For Veterans

The Trump administration advanced its goal to eliminate taxpayer-funded abortion this week when it proposed ditching a Biden administration-era rule that forced taxpayers to subsidize veterans’ abortions.

One of President Donald Trump’s first actions in his second term was prohibiting Americans’ hard-earned dollars from going to organizations that lobby for, perform, or encourage abortions in other countries. The reinstatement of President Ronald Reagan’s Mexico City Policy brought the U.S. back up to speed with Americans’ majority opposition to taxpayer-funded abortions — especially overseas.

Now, six months into the Trump administration’s return, the Department of Veteran Affairs proposed a rule to rescind a 2022 policy that lumped abortions and “abortion counseling” into veterans’ taxpayer-funded medical benefits package.

“We believe the 2022 interim final rule was not only inappropriate as a matter of fact but also was legally questionable,” the August 4th notice posted to the federal register states.

As the proposed rule notes, “the regulatory determination that abortion is not a ‘needed’ service for veterans was accepted by every Secretary and Presidential administration for over 20 years.” It wasn’t until the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson ruling in 2022 that the Biden administration saw an opportunity to advance its abortion agenda through the VA. Pro-Life Politician at Center of Explosive Scandal After Shocking Claims Surface

A Texas state lawmaker known for his strong pro-life stance has found himself at the center of a firestorm following bombshell allegations from a woman who claims to have had a years-long relationship with him.

The woman, identified as Alex Grace, posted a video online detailing what she says was a secret affair with Texas state Rep. Giovanni Capriglione that began when she was just 18 years old. In her account, she alleges that the politician provided cash for private “meetups” and even claims he funded multiple abortions — accusations he strongly denies.

The claims come just days after the politician abruptly ended his reelection campaign. In a statement following the allegations, he admitted to an affair but rejected the most damaging claims, saying he intends to pursue legal action.

“Years ago, I selfishly had an affair. I’m not proud of this. Thank God my wife and family forgave me, and we moved past it and have the strong marriage we do today,” Capriglione said. “I have never, nor would I ever, pay for an abortion.”

Grace’s story paints a very different picture, describing secret meetups at offices, hotels, and homes. She also claimed there were instances where cash was exchanged under bizarre circumstances, including one involving a location behind a family restaurant chain. She claimed that at one point, she was told to collect cash left behind a dumpster near a Chuck E. Cheese.

The lawmaker, 52, has long branded himself as a staunch pro-life leader with a 100% voting record against abortion, even spearheading legislation to toughen restrictions. His sudden exit from the political race has left many wondering what comes next as both sides stand by their stories.

Grace says she is speaking out now to reveal the truth about the man behind the political persona, while the politician says his marriage has survived past mistakes and insists the rest of the claims are false.

Abortionist Charged With Murder for ‘Callously’ Leaving Born-Alive Infant To Die

A doctor in Seoul, South Korea, has been arrested and charged with murder after a baby was allegedly born alive and left to die following a botched late abortion.

According to the Korea Times, both the abortionist, Shim, and the facility owner, Yoon, have been arrested and charged after leaving the baby to die after it was born alive following an abortion. An investigation into the incident found that the baby was alive both “before and after” the abortion procedure. The mother was reportedly 36 weeks pregnant, which means the child would have been fully developed and likely able to survive had he received proper treatment and care.

Investigators also learned that “hundreds” of other abortions had taken place at the facility.

Abortion in South Korea remains a legal gray area; though the Constitutional Court ruled in 2019 that the country’s abortion prohibition was unconstitutional, since that time there have been no clear laws or regulations surrounding abortion, which means it is considered legal up to the point of birth. In this instance, it was the act of infanticide — leaving the child born alive to then die — which led to the murder charge.

The Korea Medical Association, the country’s largest group of physicians, condemned the incident, noting “a fetus at 36 weeks of pregnancy is a baby who could survive well if born, and terminating a pregnancy at this stage is tantamount to murder.” (Read more from “Abortionist Charged With Murder for ‘Callously’ Leaving Born-Alive Infant To Die” HERE)

Actress Cynthia Nixon Slammed by Pro-Choice Fans for Wearing ‘Make Abortion Great Again’ Hat: ‘You Need Help,’ ‘Nothing Great About Abortions’

Pro-abortion fans of Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon told the actress she took things a little too far — as celebrity elites tend to do — when she posted a photo of herself to Instagram wearing a red “Make Abortion Great Again” hat. “None of my friends who had an Abortion thought it was Great,” one fan wrote.

On Thursday Nixon posted a photo of herself lounging on a boat, clad in the disturbing cap, alongside a fearmongering Instagram caption: “In addition to kicking 17 million Americans off their healthcare, Trump’s big ugly bill will strip critical funding to [Planned Parenthood] for non-abortion-related medical care.” . . .

Nixon’s pro-abortion fans, however, took to the comment section to express their dismay over the message on her hat, informing the actress that her attire is “a bit much.”

“I would never wear that hat and I am pro-choice,” the top-liked comment read.

“I’m pro choice,” another fan wrote, adding, “None of my friends who had an Abortion thought it was Great.” (Read more from “Actress Cynthia Nixon Slammed by Pro-choice Fans for Wearing ‘Make Abortion Great Again’ Hat: ‘You Need Help,’ ‘Nothing Great About Abortions’” HERE)
