Abortionist Who Performed Over 40,000 Abortions Becomes Pro-Life Activist

Screen-shot-2015-04-23-at-7.53.02-AM-672x372It should have been a routine abortion in the early second trimester. The woman was having her ninth abortion, as former Serbian abortionist Stojan Adasevic describes in the documentary “The First Hour.”

Adasevic, who is now a pro-life leader in Serbia, had performed over 48,000 abortions before doubts about the procedure made him stop —other sources claim that number is closer to 60,000.

Adasevic credits his pro-life conversion to two things: an unusual series of dreams, and this particularly disturbing experience he had while performing what should have been a routine abortion. He describes the procedure:

I opened up the womb, tore the placenta, the birth waters flowed out, and I got to work on the inside with my abortion forceps. I grabbed something, crushed it a little, removed it, and threw it onto a cloth. I look, and I see a hand – quite a large hand. The child was 3, perhaps 4 months old. I had no tape to measure it.

At three months, a preborn baby is fully formed with fingers and toes. All of the organs and body systems are present. The baby has fingerprints, and breathes amniotic fluid in preparation for life outside the womb. Adasevic goes on to say:

Someone had spilled some iodine on a part of the table and the hand fell in such a way that the nerve endings came in contact with the iodine. And what happened? I look and I say, “my God, the hand is moving by itself.” I nevertheless carry on with my forceps, and again catch something, crush it, and pull it out. I think to myself, “let it not be a leg.” I pull, and look. A leg.

I want to put the leg on the table, carefully, so that it isn’t near the moving hand. As my arm falls, I hear a bang behind my back. I jumped, and automatically, my grip on the forceps loosened. At this very moment, the leg completed a somersault and fell next to the hand.

I look – both hand and leg are moving by themselves. I nevertheless, once again, direct my instrument into the womb, and begin to crush everything inside. I think to myself that all I need to complete the picture is the heart. I continue to crush, and crush, and crush, and till I am sure that I have ground everything inside into a pulp, and once again pull out the forceps.

As I pull out the mess, thinking it will be bone fragments I lay it on the cloth, I look, and I see a human heart, contracting and expanding and beating, beating, beating. I thought I would go mad. I can see that the heartbeat is slowing, ever more slowly, and more slowly still, until it finally stops completely. Nobody could’ve seen what I had seen with my very own eyes, and be more convinced than I was — I had killed a human being.

This strange and terrible experience opened Adasevic’s eyes to the horror of what he was doing. This powerful encounter with the humanity of the preborn was stark in contrast to the training he received. In the documentary, Adasevic describes his daily work as an abortionist:

There were times when I used to carry out 20, 25, 30 or even 35 abortions every day. We used to work five days a week….

He had been trained to regard the preborn baby as subhuman. He had been taught that life did not begin until after the baby was born.

They taught us and they taught us, told us that life began with the first cry. When a baby cries for the first time. That up to that moment, a human being is like any other organ in a woman’s body, like an appendix. The removal of an appendix from a mother’s body is not murder.

Only a child that had been born, and had cried, could be killed. It hasn’t cried, then there can be no talk of murder. That is why, immediately after birth, children were taken and their heads submerged in a bucket of water. A child that would take in water instead of air. And would never cry. That was, therefore, not regarded as murder. Terrible, but that was how things were.

Abortion and infanticide, then, were morally permissible. Both were legal. Adasevic said he first began to question abortion when he began having unusual dreams. The documentary notes:

He dreamed about a beautiful field full of children and young people who were playing and laughing, from 4 to 24 years of age, but who ran away from him in fear. A man dressed in a black and white habit stared at him in silence.

The dream was repeated each night and he would wake up in a cold sweat. One night, he asked the man in black and white who he was. “My name is Thomas Aquinas.”

“Why don’t you ask me who these children are?” St. Thomas asked me in my dream.

“They are the ones you killed with your abortions,” St. Thomas told me.

Thomas Aquinas would be a strange figure to appear in an anti-abortion dream. He didn’t address abortion directly in his writings and did not believe life began at conception. He believed that the soul did not enter the preborn baby until 40 days after conception (for a boy) or 80 days (for a girl).

Ultrasound had recently become available, and it showed moving pictures of preborn babies. The new technology did not sway Adasevic – but he started having the series of dreams.

After the disturbing dreams and the horrific abortion experience, Adasevic told the hospital where he worked that he would no longer do abortions. His pro-life conversion came at great cost:

Never before had a doctor in Communist Yugoslavia refused to do so. They cut my salary in half, fired my daughter from her job, and did not allow my son to enter the university.

Adasevic has worked to change hearts and minds. He was responsible for the airing of a pro-life documentary on Serbian television. His dramatic conversion story is chilling, but also inspiring. A dedicated abortionist has become a pro-life hero.

Incidentally, Adasevic owes his life to another abortionist’s mistake. His mother was pregnant with him when she sought an abortion, but the abortionist botched it and he was born alive.

Bill Advances to Ban Abortion Groups from Teaching in Alaska Schools

school'A bill aimed at giving parents greater freedom in directing the education of their children, including the right to opt out of standardized tests and controversial sex instruction classes, has been amended to prohibit Planned Parenthood and other organizations that perform abortions from teaching in public schools.

Senate Bill 89 was amended on Thursday and passed out of the Senate Education Committee.

The amendment would prohibit a school district from contracting with an “abortion services provider” and prohibit schools from allowing an abortion services provider to teach sex education.

This would not be the first time Planned Parenthood was opposed in its efforts to reach children in public schools.

STOPP (Stop Planned Parenthood) is one of several national organizations that actively oppose Planned Parenthood’s efforts to reach public school students with sex instruction messages. According to the STOPP website, Planned Parenthood’s “sex instruction steals parents’ rights to decide what their children learn about sexuality,” while also “breaking down natural inhibitions and teaching them they can consent to dangerous sexual acts at a very young age.”

Planned Parenthood material “instructs children they have a right to pleasurable sex,” STOPP maintains. “It includes sexual role playing and requires proficiency in sexual foreplay.”

STOPP adds that Planned Parenthood programming “only pays lip service to abstinence; it encourages sexual activity,” while keeping parents largely in the dark regarding the specific details about its curriculum.

According to Alaska Dispatch News, SB 89 sponsor Sen. Mike Dunleavy, R-Wasilla, defended the effort to ban Planned Parenthood from teaching sex education in Alaska, saying that parents believe when their children go to school they are learning core subjects like math and science.

As far as allowing groups like Planned Parenthood, which is the largest provider of abortions in the nation, access to children in public schools, Dunleavy said, “We’re not outlawing abortion services providers; we’re saying, ‘Take it out of the school.’”

In email alerts to supporters, Planned Parenthood officials in Alaska have called the amendment an “extreme proposal” because it specifically targets them, “the largest nonprofit organization in the state of Alaska focused on sexual and reproductive health education.” (See “Bill Advances to Ban Abortion Groups from Teaching in Alaska Schools”, originally posted HERE)

Disgusting: New Spa-Like Abortion Clinic Is Part of a Trend to De-Stigmatize the Procedure

With its natural wood floors and plush upholstery, Carafem aims to feel more like a spa than a medical clinic. But the slick ads set to go up in Metro stations across the Washington region leave nothing to doubt: “Abortion. Yeah, we do that.”

The Maryland clinic, opening this week in Montgomery County’s tony Friendship Heights area, specializes in the abortion pill. The advertising reflects its unabashed approach — and a new push to de-stigmatize the nation’s most controversial medical procedure by talking about it openly and unapologetically.

Plagued by political setbacks in recent years, abortion rights activists are seeking to normalize abortion, to put a human face on the women getting the procedure and, in some cases, even putting a positive spin on it.

In Los Angeles County, groups recently sent women door-to-door in conservative neighborhoods to talk about their abortion experiences in the hope of changing minds. A number of Democratic lawmakers have publicly acknowledged having undergone the procedure. And new online projects solicit personal testimonials, including from women who have no regrets about terminating their pregnancies.

At Carafem, staff members plan to greet clients with warm teas, comfortable robes and a matter-of-fact attitude. (Read more from “New Spa-Like Abortion Clinic Is Part of a Trend to De-Stigmatize the Procedure” HERE)

American Idol Contestant Kimberly Henderson Tells Touching Story of Abortion and How God Changed Her Mind at the Last Minute [+video]

kimberly-hendersonAmerican Idol contestant Kimberly Henderson hasn’t let three rejections from the show’s auditions break her spirit, but a recent story she shared on her Facebook page has gained her more respect from Christians than a win on the show ever could.

“Two years ago today I was sitting in an abortion clinic thinking not having Vaida was best for me,” Henderson wrote about her now-two-year-old daughter. “Well this date is forever burned in my brain. … I think that is God’s way of showing me that HIS plan is and will always be greater and bigger than anything and everything I’ve ever known”. . .

In the post, Kimberly shares another message she originally wrote on the day that she decided not to have the abortion. She describes being upset at her boyfriend at the time for cheating on her, and she made up her mind that she wouldn’t have his child.

But a string of events happened on her way to the abortion clinic that worked toward convincing Kimberly that God was trying to speak to her. Her other daughter was sick so she had to find a sitter last-minute, she got lost, and then her car broke down for 15 minutes, making her late for her appointment. But ultimately, it was a card that fell out of her purse as she searched for her driver’s license that changed her mind once and for all.

The card was given to her by a Christian couple and on the back was a powerful Bible verse: “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10. Guess Which State is Increasing Protections for Life and Which One is Expanding the Culture of Death‏

WombBy Ben Johnson. Kansas will become the first state in the country to ban a procedure in which unborn children are dismembered in the womb, [when] Gov. Sam Brownback signs a bill that recently passed the state legislature.

The state House passed a ban on dilation and evacuation (D&E) abortions, called dismemberment abortions in common parlance, by 98-26 on Wednesday.

The Unborn Child Protection from Dismemberment Abortion Act, which had already passed the state Senate in February 31-9, now heads to Gov. Brownback’s desk.

Brownback, a staunch defender of life, is expected to sign the act into law.

“Because of the Kansas legislature’s strong pro-life convictions, unborn children in the state will be protected from brutal dismemberment abortions,” said Carol Tobias, president of the National Right to Life Committee, which has made banning dismemberment abortions a national legislative focus. New York State Assembly Passes Dangerous Expansion of Abortion in the Third Trimester

By National Right to Life News Today. Today in a vote of 94-49 the New York State Assembly approved passage of AB 6221, the extreme stand-alone 10th point from the previously packaged 10-point Women’s Equality Act, which would expand third-trimester abortions and allow non-doctors to perform abortions.

Since 2013, abortion advocates had held the Women’s Equality Act hostage to this single dangerous bill, refusing to break the 10-point bill up. This session, however, the will of the voters was finally heard, and the stand-alone bills have been considered.

“Expanding cruel and brutal third-trimester abortions has long been a goal of the anti-life lobby who never met an abortion they didn’t like,” said Lori Kehoe, New York State Right to Life executive director. “With no regard for the fully developed unborn baby who is violently dismembered, or otherwise killed, the New York State Assembly once again put the abortion lobby above New York State women and their children.” (Read more from this story HERE)

Watch: It Was a Mass Murder in America the Media Didn’t Report, Now There’s a Director to Tell the Story

“Gosnell,” the movie about mass murderer and abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell, will be directed by international film and television star Nick Searcy.

The announcement was made Wednesday on the documentary film’s Indiegogo site. Last year, the project set a movie crowd-funding record. Searcy is the latest in a line of well-known individuals involved in the movie.

John Sullivan, the co-director of Dinesh D’Souza’s two documentaries, “2016: Obama’s America” and “America: Imagine the World Without Her,” has signed on as executive producer. The script is being written by Andrew Klavan, who best known as the author of the novel True Crime, which was turned into a movie directed by and starring Clint Eastwood.

“Gosnell” is being produced by Phelim McAleer, Ann McElhinney and Magdalena Segieda, who also created the documentary “FrackNation,” in response to the anti-hydraulic drilling film “Gasland.”

Searcy, well known for his role as Art Mullen on the recently-concluded FX show “Justified,” as well as his roles in movies such as “Moneyball,” “Castaway,” and “Fried Green Tomatoes,” is also a very outspoken political conservative. Democrats Block Human Trafficking Bill, Complaining about Abortion Language

An anti-human trafficking bill that just two weeks ago had broad, bipartisan support was filibustered and stalled Tuesday by Senate Democrats upset over anti-abortion language they claim was subtly inserted into the measure.

The Justice for Victims in Trafficking Act fell five votes short of garnering the 60 needed to advance in the chamber. The legislation would create a federal fund for victims’ services and law enforcement tools financed by fines levied on convicted traffickers.

Democrats objected to a section of the bill that nodded to the Hyde Amendment – a nearly four-decade-old legislative provision that bans taxpayer-funded abortions. Language in the trafficking bill prohibited funds raised by the fines to be used for abortions.

“The partisan provision embedded in the Senate version of this bill is not something the survivors of human trafficking are asking for,” Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., said Tuesday.

[T]he bill’s author and the chamber’s majority whip, decried the Democrats’ opposition, saying Tuesday he feared the Senate was “losing its soul.” (Read more from “Democrats Block Human Trafficking Bill over Abortion Language” HERE)

Man Tricked Ex With Abortion Pill Smoothie

A man in Norway has admitted to tricking his pregnant ex-girlfriend into terminating her pregnancy by making her a smoothie laced with abortion pills, claiming he felt it was “the only way out”.

The 26-year-old man on Monday pleaded guilty both to inflicting serious bodily harm and also to terminating a pregnancy without the mother’s consent, in a case the prosecutor claimed was almost unique in Norwegian legal history.

“I had a bad conscience and felt remorse, but thought that it was the only way out,” the man told the court, according to Norway’s state broadcaster NRK.

The man already had a child with the woman from a short previous relationship, and had been unhappy when she became pregnant again after they had casual sex after meeting at a party.

“He tried several times to convince me to have an abortion but it was not an option for me,” the woman (20) told the court in Trondheim. (Read more from “Man Tricked Ex With Abortion Pill Smoothie” HERE)

Abortion Practitioner Tells Colleagues: Don’t Let Women See Ultrasound of Their Babies [+videos]

By Sarah Terzo. Dr. Sally Faith Dorfman, who worked at Einstein Medical College, gave the following advice to abortion providers:

A compassionate and sensitive sonographer should remember to turn the screen away from the plane of view [of the woman having an abortion]. Staff, too, may find themselves increasingly disturbed by the repeated visual impact of an aspect of their work that they need to partially deny in order to continue to function optimally and to concentrate on the needs of the women who come to them for help.

Miscarried at 19 Weeks, Baby Walter’s Life is Changing the Abortion Debate

“Clump of cells.” “Tissue.” “Just a fetus.” These are common ways people who are pro-abortion describe the preborn in order to diminish the humanity of these new lives. But what people label the preborn is not what defines them, and that is proven by the life of one small child. In the summer of 2013, Walter Joshua Fretz was born at just 19 weeks’ gestation. He lived only moments, but his life has had a lasting impact.

Walter’s parents, Lexi and Joshua Fretz, mom and dad to two girls (who welcomed their third daughter, Mia, this September), were excitedly awaiting the arrival of their newest baby when, according to Lexi’s blog, she began experiencing spotting. This wasn’t unusual for her during pregnancy, but when the spotting turned pink she grew more concerned and called her midwife, who advised her to go to the ER.

In the ER, several pregnant women came in after her and were taken straight to the maternity ward. But since Lexi was not yet 20 weeks – she was 19 weeks and 6 days – the hospital rules required her to stay in the ER. After about an hour, Lexi was able to hear her baby’s heartbeat and felt relieved, but as she waited for an ultrasound, Lexi began to feel the familiar pains of labor. Nearly five hours after arriving at the hospital, Lexi gave birth to her son, Walter Joshua Fretz. She writes:

I was crying so hard at this point, but he was perfect. He was fully formed and everything was there, I could see his heart beating in his tiny chest. Joshua and I both held him and cried over him and looked over our perfect, tiny son.

Joshua’s next decision seemed small and natural, but would end up being a life changer and even a lifesaver for many others. He went to the car to get Lexi’s camera so he could take photos of his son. At first, this was not something Lexi wanted, but the pictures of Walter soon spread across the Internet. The photos reached grieving mothers and helped them through the loss of their own babies, and they were used to help women choose life for their preborn children.
