Big Surprise! Hollywood Celebs Blame Trump

Hollywood celebrities have sprung into damage control mode following President Joe Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, attempting to blame former President Donald Trump for Biden’s mismanaged and chaotic retreat that has left the country in Taliban control, including the U.S. embassy in Kabul.

Stars including Bette Midler, Sophia Bush, George Takei, and Rosanna Arquette have used their social media influencer status to assign blame for the fiasco to Trump, citing the former president’s 2020 agreement with the Taliban.

As Breitbart News reported, the Trump administration agreed to fully withdraw troops from Afghanistan by May 1, 2021, in exchange for the Taliban agreeing not to attack U.S. troops and to cut ties with al-Qaeda and other international terrorist groups.

But the Biden administration reneged on the Trump deal by extending the Afghan war by four months, before again changing the date for troop withdrawal to August 31. Biden’s prevarications prompted the Taliban to drop its end of the bargain, setting in motion the Islamic extremist group’s takeover of the country.

None of that stopped Bette Midler from trying to spin Biden’s debacle as Trump’s fault. “This should be laid at Trump’s fat feet,” the future Kennedy Center honoree tweeted Monday.

Former President Trump Calls on Biden to ‘Resign in Disgrace’; Watch Videos of Panicked Afghanis at Kabul Airport

By New York Post. Former President Donald Trump Sunday called on President Joe Biden to “resign in disgrace” over his handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal and other issues.

“It is time for Joe Biden to resign in disgrace for what he has allowed to happen to Afghanistan, along with the tremendous surge in COVID, the Border catastrophe, the destruction of energy independence, and our crippled economy,” the former president wrote in a statement. . .

Trump’s administration had negotiated the terms of the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan by May 1. Trump even considered withdrawing troops from the region before leaving office. . .

“I made early withdraw possible by already pulling much of our billions of dollars of equipment out and, more importantly, reducing our military presence to less than 2,000 troops from the 16,000 level that was there (likewise in Iraq, and zero troops in Syria except for the area where we KEPT THE OIL),” he said in an email to supporters in April. Biden Sends a Total of 5,000 Troops to Afghanistan, Blames Trump for Taliban Resurgence

President Joe Biden released a statement Saturday from the White House blaming his decision to surge U.S. troops to Afghanistan to combat the Taliban’s surging land acquisition on the policies of former President Donald Trump.

Biden said in the statement that he would send an additional 1,000 troops to Afghanistan to complement the 1,000 troops already in the country and the 3,000-troop surge he announced last week, a defense official told the Washington Examiner. The president said the move was necessary after he inherited a tenuous situation from the previous administration, claiming that Trump had cut a deal with the Taliban in 2019 that put them in a powerful military position. Biden also criticized Trump’s decision to roll back American forces stationed in the country.

“When I came to office, I inherited a deal cut by my predecessor, which he invited the Taliban to discuss at Camp David on the eve of 9/11 of 2019, that left the Taliban in the strongest position militarily since 2001 and imposed a May 1, 2021 deadline on U.S. forces,” Biden said in the statement. “Shortly before he left office, he also drew U.S. forces down to a bare minimum of 2,500.” . . .

The president said that he was forced to make a decision between honoring the deal with the Taliban established under the Trump administration and bolstering the U.S. presence in Afghanistan.

“Therefore, when I became President, I faced a choice — follow through on the deal, with a brief extension to get our forces and our allies’ forces out safely, or ramp up our presence and send more American troops to fight once again in another country’s civil conflict,” he wrote. Videos Reveal Utter Chaos at Kabul Airport as Taliban Conquers Afghanistan

Videos uploaded from Kabul on Sunday showed chaos at the international airport as panicked people rushed to board aircraft ahead of the Taliban’s advance.

Gunfire was audible in the distance as refugees packed into transport aircraft. Operations at the airport were reportedly suspended for a time due to shooting nearby.

Shots were fired by U.S. troops to control the panicked crowd as the situation deteriorated:

US Embassy In Afghanistan Instructs Staff to Destroy Sensitive Information

The US Embassy in Kabul is instructing personnel to destroy sensitive materials as well as items “which could be misused in propaganda efforts,” according to a management notice sent Friday to embassy staff, seen by CNN and described by another source familiar.

The notice comes as the embassy prepares to withdraw a significant number of diplomats and as the security situation on the ground in Afghanistan continues to deteriorate, with one diplomatic source telling CNN that one intelligence assessment indicates that Kabul could be isolated by the Taliban within the week, possibly within the next 72 hours.

The notice said facilities would provide “destruction support” daily and called on personnel to “please take advantage and reduce the amount of sensitive material on the property,” including papers and electronics.

“Please also include items with embassy or agency logos, American flags, or items which could be misused in propaganda efforts,” it said. (Read more from “US Embassy In Afghanistan Instructs Staff to Destroy Sensitive Information” HERE)

Pentagon: Speed Taliban is Taking Over Afghanistan ‘Deeply Concerning’

The U.S. military has been alarmed by the speed with which the Taliban has managed to seize control of much of Afghanistan, as the United States works to wind down a war that has spanned nearly two decades and remove its troop presence from the country.

“We’re certainly concerned by the speed with which the Taliban has been moving,” Pentagon spokesman John Kirby told reporters Friday afternoon. “It’s deeply concerning.”

President Joe Biden, who is spending the weekend at Camp David, was briefed on the situation in Afghanistan on Friday, according to the White House. He last spoke publicly about the troop withdrawal Tuesday, telling reporters he didn’t regret his decision have all U.S. troops out of Afghanistan by September 11.

“We spent over a trillion dollars over 20 years—we trained and equipped with modern equipment over 300,000 Afghan forces,” Biden said. “Afghan leaders have to come together … They’ve got to fight for themselves, fight for their nation.” (Read more from “Pentagon: Speed Taliban is Taking Over Afghanistan ‘Deeply Concerning'” HERE)

US Embassy Urges Americans to Leave Afghanistan Immediately; This Afghan Rout is Entirely on Joe Biden; Biden Orders THOUSANDS of Troops Back to Afghanistan

By The Hill. The U.S. Embassy in Kabul is urging all Americans to leave Afghanistan “immediately” as the security situation in the country continues to deteriorate due to advances made by the Taliban in key provinces amid the U.S.’s troop withdrawal.

The embassy urged all U.S. citizens to vacate the country “using available commercial flight options.” It said its ability to assist Americans in Afghanistan is “extremely limited” because of the security conditions and reduced staffing.

The embassy is offering repatriation loans to citizens who cannot afford to purchase an airline ticket.

The notice comes days after the embassy issued a similar security alert on Saturday urging U.S. citizens to leave the country immediately.

The Taliban has seized a number of key provincial capitals in Afghanistan in recent days as the U.S. and NATO inch closer to completing their military withdrawals from the country. The U.S. is set to complete its withdrawal by Aug. 31, according to President Biden. (Read more from “US Embassy Urges Americans to Leave Afghanistan Immediately” HERE)

This Afghan Rout is Entirely on Joe Biden

By New York Post. It doesn’t get more idiotic: “The Taliban also has to make an assessment about what they want their role to be in the international community,” White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said with a straight face Wednesday.

Oh, and the State Department has sent diplomats to “press the Taliban to stop their military offensive and to negotiate a political settlement, which is the only path to stability and development in Afghanistan.” They’re also begging to have the US embassy in Kabul left alone, warning that future US aid is at risk — and so effectively promising that we’ll actually subsidize these barbarians.

Hello? The Taliban has never given a damn about world opinion or “stability and development.” It was a global pariah when it ruled Afghanistan in the ’90s, ignoring the handwringing as it crushed the country’s women, destroyed those 1,500-year-old Buddha statues and hosted the al Qaeda plotters of 9/11. . .

The White House can pretend that diplomacy might somehow save the Afghan government, but its real sentiments rest in President Joe Biden’s words while campaigning last year, when he said he’d have “zero responsibility” for what happened after he pulled US troops out.

We didn’t disagree with Biden’s move to remove the last US ground forces, just as Donald Trump promised as well when he was in office. That’s plainly what most Americans wanted, too. Afghanistan had become an endless war. (Read more from “This Afghan Rout is Entirely on Joe Biden” HERE)

Biden Orders Thousands of Troops Back to Afghanistan as Taliban Sweeps Country

By Breitbart. The Pentagon announced Thursday it will deploy three infantry battalions, or roughly 3,000 troops, to assist with the reduction of American civilians at the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, and the evacuation of Afghan Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) applicants from the country.

The battalions are already in the region, Pentagon press secretary John Kirby said during a press conference. They will move to the Hamid Karzai Airport in Kabul within the next 24-48 hours. Two of the battalions are Marine battalions while the third is an Army battalion. They will join the 650 U.S. troops already in Kabul.

In addition, a joint Army and Air Force support element of around 1,000 personnel will help with the processing of the SIV applicants, Kirby said. The element would move into Qatar in the coming days, he said.

Lastly, an infantry brigade combat team will deploy to Kuwait to be “postured and prepared if needed to provide additional security at the airport,” Kirby added. That brigade combat team would arrive sometime in the next week, he said.

“These forces are being deployed to support the orderly and safe reduction of civilian personnel at the request of the State Department and to help facilitate an accelerated process of working through SIV applicants. This is a temporary mission with a narrow focus,” he said. (Read more from “Biden Orders Thousands of Troops Back to Afghanistan as Taliban Sweeps Country” HERE)

Trump Says Situation With Taliban Would Be ‘More Successful’ if He Were Still President

Former President Donald Trump said he “personally had discussions with top Taliban leaders whereby they understood what they are doing now would not have been acceptable,” in a statement issued through the Save America PAC.

Since the United States pulled out of Afghanistan, the Taliban has taken over much of the country’s rural and lands, and over the past six days, the insurgent group has conquered nine provincial capitals, primarily in the north. The group now controls an estimated 65 percent of the country’s territory and 10 of its 34 provincial capitals.

President Joe Biden announced in mid-April that he intended to have U.S. troops out of the country by September 11. At the time of that decision, a number of polls showed Americans, disillusioned by so-called “forever wars,” were in favor of the move. However, since the subsequent Taliban takeovers, a number of Republicans have criticized Biden’s approach, including the former president.

“It would have been a much different and much more successful withdrawal, and the Taliban understood that better than anyone,” Trump said in his statement. “What is going on now is not acceptable. It should have been done much better.” (Read more from “Trump Says Situation With Taliban Would Be ‘More Successful’ if He Were Still President” HERE)
