“Transparent” Government??? Obama Has Issued 19 Secret Directives

A one-digit correction to President Obama’s directive on hostage policy Wednesday had the effect of disclosing the existence of a previously unknown — and still-secret — Obama order on national security.

The hostage policy was originally released Wednesday as a presidential policy directive numbered PPD-29. When the White House corrected that number to PPD-30, it meant Obama had issued a secret directive as PPD-29 sometime in the past 17 months . . .

So what is PPD-29? No one’s talking. A spokesman for the National Security Council declined to comment of the existence of classified PPDs Wednesday.

“The only reason we know about it is the sequential numbering of the directives, and realizing they skipped a few,” said Steven Aftergood of the Federation of American Scientists, which tracks the directives.

PPD-29 isn’t the first to be tacitly acknowledged only by a missing number. Of the 30 PPDs issued by Obama, 19 have not been released. And for 11 of those, the White House has not disclosed even the subject of the order. (Read more from “Obama Has Issued 19 Secret Directives” HERE)

FBI Files Reveal Obama Adviser Valerie Jarrett’s Deep Family Ties to Communist Activities [+video]

Top presidential adviser Valerie Jarret is well known for being a far-left liberal, but FBI files obtained by the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch show she comes from a family even further left than most Democrats would want to admit.

Jarrett’s father, her father-in-law and her maternal grandfather were all under investigation by the FBI for deep Communist ties during the 1950s, Judicial Watch reports.

According to Judicial Watch:

Jarrett’s dad, pathologist and geneticist Dr. James Bowman, had extensive ties to Communist associations and individuals, his lengthy FBI file shows. In 1950 Bowman was in communication with a paid Soviet agent named Alfred Stern, who fled to Prague after getting charged with espionage. Bowman was also a member of a Communist-sympathizing group called the Association of Internes and Medical Students. After his discharge from the Army Medical Corps in 1955, Bowman moved to Iran to work, the FBI records show …

The Jarrett family Communist ties also include a business partnership between Jarrett’s maternal grandpa, Robert Rochon Taylor, and Stern, the Soviet agent associated with her dad.

Obama: Americans Have Distorted Impression of Muslims

Speaking at the annual White House Iftar dinner on Monday night, President Barack Obama explained the unfair stereotypes that Muslim Americans have to deal with in the United States and called on others to support their community.

The Iftar dinner is to honor the Muslim holiday of Ramadan, which marks the time when Muslims believe that the Koran was shown to the prophet Muhammad for the first time. The holiday, which began last week, goes on for a month. During the time, Muslims fast during the day in remembrance of their leader.

In his remarks, the President spoke about the “distorted impression” many Americans have of Muslims.

“Here in America, many people personally don’t know someone who is Muslim,” he said. “They mostly hear about Muslims in the news – and that can obviously lead to a very distorted impression.”

He also said that the dinner “is also a reminder of the freedoms that bind us together as Americans, including the freedom of religion – that inviolable right to practice our faiths freely,” USA Today reported. (Read more from “Obama: Americans Have Distorted Impression of Muslims” HERE)

GOP Cannot Give in to Obama’s ‘Great Internet Giveaway’

The government’s job is simple: to protect freedom and promote free markets. And the Republican Party — which currently controls both chambers of the U.S. Congress — bills itself as the party of individual responsibility and economic growth. Furthermore, in 2011 and again in 2015, the GOP obtained its legislative power because the American people were fed up with the Obama administration’s overreach.

Unfortunately, upon arriving in Washington, far too many Republicans have decided to follow the path of accommodation and appeasement rather than standing on principle — and standing for the people who put them in office. This “go along to get along” mentality — championed by far too many GOP leaders — has empowered Obama’s liberal, rogue bureaucracies on multiple fronts.

One of these is the “great Internet giveaway” — Obama’s effort to surrender effective control of the World Wide Web to a group of multinational corporate interests and nonprofits (or if that fails, a United Nations bureaucracy).

President Obama’s Commerce Department — specifically the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) — wants to take the Web’s most essential operational functions and cede them to the “global Internet community.” Among these core functions are the resources provided by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA), which coordinates all of the Internet’s globally unique identifiers (domain names, number resources, protocol assignments, etc.). This is literally the nuts and bolts of the web; its essential underlying architecture. Currently, the U.S. Department of Commerce contracts out responsibility for IANA to a Los Angeles-based nonprofit called the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).

This relationship has secured a free and open Internet for nearly two decades, driving innovation and preventing censorship of content. Why would Obama want to undo that? According to Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R), a staunch supporter of Internet freedom, the proposed giveaway is yet another attempt by the administration to undermine U.S. sovereignty — in the process, “jeopardizing the freedoms of billions of citizens the world over.” (Read more from “GOP Cannot Give in to Obama’s ‘Great Internet Giveaway'” HERE)

Israeli Diplomat: Obama Reaches out to Islam Because Two Muslim Father Figures Abandoned Him

In an op-ed published Friday, Kulanu Knesset member and former Israeli ambassador to the United States Michael Oren speculates that President Barack Obama’s relentless outreach to the Muslim world may stem from the fact that he was abandoned by the two Muslim father figures in his life and therefore seeks acceptance by their co-religionists.

In the article, in Foreign Policy Magazine, Oren also posits that the world may look back on Obama’s approach to Middle East issues as naive and hard to credit.

The piece marks Oren’s third op-ed critical of Obama published in major US media in less than a week. In the first of the series, the former ambassador published “How Obama abandoned Israel” in the Wall Street Journal, followed by “Why Obama is wrong about Iran being ‘rational’ on nukes,” in the Los Angeles Times. He also gave a lengthy interview to the Times of Israel this week in which he echoed charges in his new book, “Ally,” to the effect that aspects of US-Israel ties are “in tatters” because of the president.

The Obama administration responded bitterly to Oren’s earlier criticism of the president, calling it “absolutely false.” His opposite number, US Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro, said Oren was motivated by a desire to sell books. But while freshman MK Oren’s party leader Moshe Kahlon on Wednesday apologized and distanced the party from the Wall Street Journal piece, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly refused a US request to do likewise.

In the Foreign Policy article Friday, Oren writes that “Obama’s attitudes toward Islam clearly stem from his personal interactions with Muslims. These were described in depth in his candid memoir, ‘Dreams from My Father,’ published 13 years before his election as president. Obama wrote passionately of the Kenyan villages where, after many years of dislocation, he felt most at home and of his childhood experiences in Indonesia. I could imagine how a child raised by a Christian mother might see himself as a natural bridge between her two Muslim husbands. Obama Drops the N Word in Recent Interview on Racism

By Associated Press. President Obama said the United States has not overcome its history of racism and is using the N-word to make his case.

In an interview, Obama weighed in on the debate over race and guns that has erupted after the arrest of a white man for the racially motivated shooting deaths of nine black church members in Charleston, South Carolina.

“Racism, we are not cured of it,” Obama said. “And it’s not just a matter of it not being polite to say nigger in public. That’s not the measure of whether racism still exists or not. It’s not just a matter of overt discrimination. Societies don’t, overnight, completely erase everything that happened 200 to 300 years prior.”

Obama’s remarks came during an interview out Monday with comedian Marc Maron for his popular podcast, where crude language is often part of the discussion.

The president said while attitudes about race have improved significantly since he was born to a white mother and black father, the legacy of slavery “casts a long shadow and that’s still part of our DNA that’s passed on.” (Read more from “Obama Drops the N Word in Recent Interview on Racism” HERE)

President Obama Doesn’t Regret Using the N-Word

By Jordyn Phelps. President Obama did not plan to use the n-word in his interview with comedian Marc Maron, but he doesn’t regret the word choice either.

“As is as evident from the conversation, it was a free-flowing conversation,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told ABC News’ Jonathan Karl at Monday’s press briefing. “It was pretty wide-ranging, and there was no decision made on the part of anybody here at the White House that we are going to capitalize on this audio interview from somebody’s garage in California, that this would be an opportune time for him to get this particular point off his chest.”

Although the president’s word choice was unconventional in the interview on Maron’s “WTF” podcast, Earnest said, the point he was making was “entirely consistent” with a message he has made numerous times on race relations — that although much progress has been made in recent decades, “we’re not cured” of the “legacy of slavery” and Jim Crow.

“It’s not just a matter of it not being polite to say n***** in public,” the president told Maron. “That’s not the measure of whether racism still exists or not. It’s not just a matter of overt discrimination. Societies don’t, overnight, completely erase everything that happened 200 to 300 years prior.”

While the president said the history of slavery still “casts a long shadow” on American society, he also reflected on the progress that’s been made. (Read more from this story HERE)

Hollywood Leftists Pay $33k+ Each to Talk to Obama About Gun Control for an Hour

Hours after delivering a statement on the shooting massacre of nine people at an historic church in Charleston, S.C., President Obama and a group of entertainment industry donors had a lengthy discussion about the roots of gun violence in the first of two Hollywood-centric fundraisers in Los Angeles on Thursday, according to an attendee who was present.

About 30 people attended the event at the Pacific Palisades home of Chuck Lorre, executive producer of “Two and a Half Men.” Tickets for what was billed as an intimate discussion with the president sold for up to $33,400 each, with proceeds going to the Democratic National Committee.

Among those attending were Kiefer Sutherland, Matthew Perry, Conan O’Brien, UTA’s Jay Sures, Bob Broder, Tennis Channel CEO Ken Solomon and writer-producer James Burrows.

The attendee described the meeting, which lasted an hour and 15 minutes, as different from other events in that it offered an opportunity for Obama to have a “long, thoughtful” and serious discussion about issues, including gun violence and his presidency, in a much more “macro” sense than in other forums. The discussion about gun violence touched on gun laws, mental health and race, among other factors, the attendee said. Obama talked about being an optimist, especially about the country’s place in history.

Next on Obama’s agenda was a larger, $2,500-per-person event at the home of Tyler Perry. Perry is a longtime supporter who also held a fundraiser for Obama’s re-election campaign in Atlanta. (Read more from “Hollywood Leftists Pay $33k+ to Talk to Obama” HERE)

At California Fundraiser, Obama Blames the People For His Failure to Totally Transform Nation

By Tom Tillison. When Barack Obama accepted the Democratic presidential nomination in June 2008, he talked about it being a moment “when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.”

While acknowledging the journey would be difficult, Obama said he would “face it with limitless faith in the capacity of the American people” . . .

With Obama now in the sunset of his second term as president of the United States, he expressed frustration Thursday about his inability to deliver lasting change while speaking at a Los Angeles fundraiser.

But he made it clear it wasn’t his fault. Oh, no, of course not.

“When I ran in 2008, I in fact did not say I would fix it. Obama Confuses White House for Prison

By Patrick Howley. President Barack Obama accidentally compared himself to a prisoner stuck in the White House while speaking at a Beverly Hills fundraiser at filmmaker Tyler Perry’s house Thursday.

“We should be reforming our criminal justice system in such a way that we are not incarcerating nonviolent offenders in ways that renders them incapable of getting a job after they leave office,” Obama said, effectively comparing being in prison to being in office.

“Little slip of the tongue there. Little Freudian slip,” Obama said after making his gaffe. “Tyler is going to give me a job once I leave.” (Read more from this story HERE)

Obama Politicizes Tragic Charleston Church Shootings, Advocates Gun Control

As the nation reels from the June 17 shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina, that left nine people dead, President Barack Obama said he mourned the slain and touched on the subject of gun control.

“At some point, we as a country will have to reckon with the fact that this type of mass violence does not happen in other advanced countries,” Obama said from the White House Briefing Room. “It doesn’t happen in other places with this kind of frequency. And it is in our power to do something about it” . . .

“I say that recognizing the politics in this town foreclose a lot of those avenues right now,” Obama said. “But it would be wrong for us not to acknowledge it. And at some point, it’s going to be important for the American people to come to grips with it, and for us to be able to shift how we think about the issue of gun violence collectively” . . .

“Michelle and I know several members of Emanuel AME Church. We knew their pastor, Rev. Clementa Pinckney, who, along with eight others, gathered in prayer and fellowship and was murdered last night, and to say our thoughts and prayers are with them and their families and their community doesn’t say enough to convey the heartache and the sadness and the anger that we feel,” he said. Anti-Israel Obama Staffers ‘Cheered’ Private Scolding of Israeli Ambassador

Obama administration staffers listened in on and “cheered” the private scolding of a former Israeli ambassador by senior a State Department official, according to new disclosures by that ambassador, Michael Oren.

The incident took place in 2010, when the Obama administration stoked tensions with Israel over its decision to continue building homes in Jerusalem neighborhoods, according to Oren, who recounts the episode in his new memoir, Ally: My Journey Across the American-Israeli Divide.

At the time, the Obama administration was upset Israel had announced the construction of 1,600 new homes for Jewish people in neighborhoods in East Jerusalem. The announcement coincided with a trip to Israel by Vice President Joe Biden. . .

Oren recounted that when he landed back in Washington, D.C., following the trip, he landed “to learn that [then] Secretary of State Clinton has excoriated Netanyahu for 45 minutes over the phone, rebuking him for humiliating the president and undermining America’s ability to deal with pressing Middle East issues.”

[It was Oren’s turn next:] “There, waiting in his not-nice American mode, was Deputy Secretary Jim Steinberg, who proceeded to read me the text of Hillary’s conversation with Netanyahu,” Oren writes. “This contained a list of demands, including a total building freeze in East Jerusalem as well as the West Bank, most of which would be unacceptable to any Israeli prime minister” . . .
