Obama’s Drilling Ban in Alaska Definitely Not About Saving Polar Bears

Photo Credit: Daily Caller Obama’s latest anti-fossil-fuels directive is to move off-limits to exploration and drilling some 12 million acres in Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. This is one of the most oil-rich regions in the world. The area to be removed from drilling is larger than the combined land area of Connecticut and Massachusetts. Alaska’s economy is already softening because of low oil prices; now he tosses the state’s drowning economy an anchor.

Obama says his motivation is to keep this land environmentally undisturbed and to protect wildlife — as if he were a modern-day Theodore Roosevelt–style preservationist. “Alaska’s National Wildlife Refuge is an incredible place — pristine, undisturbed,” Obama says. “It supports caribou and polar bears, all manner of marine life, countless species of birds and fish, and for centuries it supported many Alaska Native communities. But it’s very fragile.”

Well, no, not really. Think of a football field, and then think of placing a postcard on that field. This is roughly the size of the development footprint required to drill in these wilderness lands, compared with the entire Alaskan landmass. Thanks to horizontal drilling, the footprint from oil and gas production is getting smaller all the time. Drilling will hardly alter the majesty of the mountains or the forest lands.

[T]he impact on Alaska’s wildlife and natural beauty has been almost nonexistent. A study delivered in 2002 to the American Society of Civil Engineers found that “the ecosystems affected by the operation of TAPS and associated activity for almost 25 years are healthy.” Today the size of the caribou herd in Alaska is estimated at about 325,000 — four times the number before the pipeline was built. . .

So what’s really going on here? This latest White House move isn’t about saving polar bears. It’s about a radical climate-change agenda to stop all domestic oil and gas drilling and coal mining, wherever and whenever possible. Unbelievable: Obama Agrees to 80 Percent of Iran’s Nuclear Demands

Photo Credit: Jerusalem Post Israeli officials told Channel 10 on Friday that they are convinced the Obama administration has already agreed to most of Iran’s demands in the P5+1 negotiations over the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program.

According to unnamed officials, Washington “has given the Iranians 80 percent of what they want” out of the negotiations, Channel 10 is reporting.

Jerusalem officials appear alarmed at the prospect that the United States will soon strike a deal with the Iranian regime that will leave it with a “breakout capacity” of months during which it can gallop toward a nuclear bomb.

The practical significance of the American compromises in the talks is that Iran will be permitted to keep over 7,000 centrifuges, enough for the Iranians to produce enough enriched material to sprint toward the bomb within a matter of months.

These developments have apparently fueled Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s sense of urgency in traveling to Washington and addressing Congress in hopes of lobbying American lawmakers to pass tougher sanctions against the Islamic Republic. (Read more about the nuclear demands HERE)

Obama Now Delays Deportation Hearings for Illegals to 2019

Photo Credit: Breitbart By Tony Lee. Thousands of illegal immigrants will remain in the United States for at least five more years after the Justice Department moved their deportation hearings to 2019–at the earliest.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the Department of Justice “has begun sending out notices to thousands of immigrants awaiting hearings that their cases will be pushed back nearly five years,” and “began notifying employees in the immigration court system last week that nonpriority cases were being bumped off the court docket and would get a Nov. 29, 2019, court date, which happens to be Black Friday.”

The Journal notes that the 2019 date is “more of a bureaucratic placeholder than an actual plan to hear a flood of cases that day,” which means the hearings could be moved to an even later date in the future.

“Thousands” if not “tens of thousands” illegal immigrants who are “nonpriority cases” and are “living freely” in the United States will reportedly have their hearings delayed. (Read more from “Obama Delays Deportation Hearings” HERE)

County Sheriff: Anything Short Of Murder and Rape Won’t Get You Deported

By Ian Hanchett. Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke (D) said that “anything short of murder and rape” is considered a low-level offense for illegal immigrants and will likely not result in deportation on Friday’s “Laura Ingraham Show.”

“When you put that population [criminal aliens] on top of what we’re already dealing with with people who are legally in the United States and involved in crime, it just compounds our problems. One of the most difficult challenges in dealing with criminal aliens is who are they, every time they get arrested, they give you a different name and you look and each one of them comes with 10, 12, 15 aliases and so just identifying them becomes problematic, but once they’re involved in crime, and I know what the left likes to say that low-level offenders shouldn’t be deported. Well, they have dropped the standard to now where burglary and strong-armed robbery are considered low-level offenses, anything short of murder and rape, they say ‘OK, yeah, murder maybe we should deport them,’ I go ‘no, burglary, strong-armed robbery, drug trafficking, drunk driving…all of those things should be included’” he stated. It’s hard to remember any movie which has been such a cultural phenomenon, and inflamed passions across the political spectrum.

Watch a message from Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, the famous sniper with 160 confirmed kills, as he gives a timely warning about President Barack Obama. He warns us about how deep Obama’s anti-2nd Amendment philosophy is. Isn’t that sad for a constitutional professor to be so opposed to gun rights?

“I don’t know exactly what he’s doing,” Kyle said then, referring to Obama’s efforts to enact gun control according to guns.com, “but I know he’s definitely against the Second Amendment, and he’s trying to ban everything” . . .

“You start putting these bans in effect — you know, these people who don’t know anything about the guns — and they start thinking, ‘Well, who needs 30-round magazines?’” he said. “Really? That’s just opening the door so you can start taking more of our rights.”

“It was there, it was started by our Founding Fathers, and they had the same weapons the military did,” he argued. “We don’t even have that today. But don’t try to take what I’ve already got.”

Obama Advisor John Podesta Paid by Shadowy Foreign Billionaire to Shut Down ANWR?

Photo Credit: The Daily Caller By Richard Pollock. In 2013, John Podesta was paid $87,000 by a shadowy foreign billionaire whose passion is preventing energy exploration on American land.

Just two years later, Podesta is a member of President Obama’s inner circle, and the driving force inside the White House to block 12 million acres of land in Alaska’s Artic National Wildlife Refuge from oil drilling.

The circumstances suggest Podesta may have run afoul of Obama’s highly-touted ethics pledge, which requires political appointees to disqualify themselves in matters relating to the interests of a former employer or client.

Podesta — who is preparing to leave the White House to take a top position with Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign — has largely avoided public scrutiny during his time as a White House Counselor.

Obama Treats Journalists as ‘Enemies of the State’

By Sam Rolley. Former CBS reporter Sheryl Attkisson told senators on Thursday that a journalist’s job of “getting at the truth has never been more difficult” than it is under the Obama administration.

Testifying before the Senate confirmation hearing for Attorney General nominee Loretta Lynch, Atkins said that the Obama Justice Department has potentially done “long-term damage to a supposedly free press” and urged Lynch to enact policy changes to end the DOJ’s abuse of journalists.

“Facets of federal government have isolated themselves from the public they serve. They covet and withhold public information that we as citizens own. They bully and threaten access of journalists who do their jobs, news organizations that publish stories they don’t like and whistleblowers who dare to tell the truth,” Attkisson said. Obama Just Picked a Massive Fight With Border Agents

The Obama administration is starting to implement its executive actions on immigration from November 2014 — and its early guidelines just set up a fight with enforcement agents who are already ticked off at the White House.

Applications for the new “deferred action” program aren’t expected to open up until spring. But federal immigration agents are already being told to consider whether immigrants in their custody might qualify for the new program — and not to deport them if they might.

The new guidance that Customs and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers are receiving was reported by Breitbart Texas a few weeks ago, after receiving leaked documents from a Customs and Border Protection agent. (The Associated Press reported on a similar set of guidelines on Wednesday.) The leaks make it clear that the agents themselves are extremely unhappy that they’re being told not to deport immigrants who they know are unauthorized — and in fact, if anything, are being told to help them. Immigration agents have long distrusted the Obama administration’s commitment to enforcing immigration law aggressively. That relationship is about to get a whole lot rockier.

The fact that the White House is already in a fight with agents before anyone has even gotten the chance to apply for the new program is a big deal for both the political fight over the executive actions, and the policy battle over their implementation. The resistance of federal immigration agents was one big reason that the Obama administration’s first attempt to protect some unauthorized immigrants, in 2010 and 2011, didn’t work — and will make it much harder for the government to roll out the new program. On the political front, agents — and in particular their unions — have become an unlikely ally of the congressional Republicans leading the political attacks against the administration’s program. As a theoretical legal argument over the basic constitutionality of the president’s actions grows into an argument about how they’re being implemented, agents are going to play a key role. ISIS Threatens to Behead Obama Inside White House

Photo Credit: Free BeaconThe Islamic State (IS) terror group threatened to behead President Barack Obama inside the White House in a new propaganda video released this week, according to a watchdog group monitoring the terror group.

In the video, titled, “Bombardment of Peaceful Muslims in the City of Mosul,” an IS (also known as ISIS and ISIL) militant is shown beheading a captured Kurdish fighter and making threats to the West.

“The fighter makes threats against the U.S., France, Belgium, and the Kurds,” according to the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). “He threatens that he and his comrades will reach America and behead Barack Obama in the White House”

The IS militant also says that the group “will target France and Belgium with car bombs and explosives and will behead Kurdistan Regional Government President Masoud Barzani,” according to MEMRI.

After showing scenes of burnt bodies and destruction caused by the ongoing fighting in Iraq, “a group of armed and masked ISIS fighters stand on a Mosul street around a Kurdish soldier who is kneeling on the ground,” MEMRI writes. (Read more about the threat to behead Obama HERE)

Obama Campaign Team Sent to Israel to Defeat Netanyahu

Just days after the Obama White House accused House Speaker John Boehner of “breaking protocol” by inviting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address a joint session of Congress, a team of up to five Obama campaign operatives has reportedly arrived in Israel to lead a campaign to defeat the Israeli Prime Minister in upcoming national elections scheduled for March 17.

The anti-Netanyahu, left wing Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports a group called “One Voice,” reportedly funded by American donors, is paying for the Obama campaign team. That group is reportedly being led by Obama’s 2012 field director Jeremy Bird.

As Jerusalem Post columnist and putative Knesset candidate Caroline Glick reported on her Facebook page, “Obama won’t meet Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington when he addresses the Joint Houses of Congress in March because of Netanyahu’s visit’s proximity to the Israeli elections. And Obama, of course believes in protocol and propriety which is why he won’t get involved.” And yet, Glick adds, “He’s just sending his 2012 field campaign manager to Israel to run a campaign to defeat Netanyahu.” (Read more about the Obama campaing team arriving in Israel HERE)

IDF Strikes Syrian Army Targets

By Yaakov Lappin. The Israel Air Force (IAF) struck Syrian army artillery targets late on Tuesday night in response to an earlier rocket attack carried out on the Golan Heights and Mount Hermon.

“The IDF views the Syrian regime as responsible for what occurs in its territory, and will act at any time and any way it sees fit to protect the citizens of Israel,” the IDF said.

The targets were accurately struck, the IDF added.

IDF confirmation of the strike came minutes following reports of air sirens being heard in the Golan Heights, which later proved to be false alarms. (Read more from this story HERE)

Actor Rob Lowe: Obama Prefers Fruit Loops Over Netanyahu

Among the Hollywood actor’s famous roles, is that of Deputy White House Communications Director in the television show The West Wing.

On Friday, Lowe entered a real-life diplomatic drama, when he weighed in on one of the most serious crises in the often infamous series of political battles that have raged between Obama and Netanyahu in the last six years.

Lowe mocked Obama for a live streamed meeting he held Thursday with three YouTube stars, GloZell Green, Hank Green and Bethany Mota. . .

Obama Veers Off of Talking Points, Claims Homosexuality is a Choice, not Genetically Predetermined

Photo Credit: GettyPresident Barack Obama’s gay allies are ignoring his endorsement of the long-standing claim that sexual orientation is a matter of choice.

“I think people know that treating folks unfairly, even if you disagree with their lifestyle choice… Let them live their lives and under the law they should be treated equally,” he said 25 minutes into his Wednesday interview with GloZell Green, a YouTube personality.

Obama’s statement violates progressives’ demand that Americans believe there’s no choice in sexual orientation.

But Obama’s statement reflects mainstream views.

A May 2014 poll by Gallup showed that only 42 percent of Americans believe all gay people are “born that way,” regardless of choice. Thirty-seven percent of Americans believe that homosexuality is linked to upbringing and environment. (Read more from “Obama: Homosexuality is a Choice” HERE)
