Useless Idiots: NFL Bows at the Altar of Black Lives Matter

The racial division ignited by President Obama is far ranging, with support for Black Lives Matter spreading like a wild fire through the country including the National Football League and AT&T.

After years of stoking racial tension between the police and the black community, Obama sparked a social environment in which police officers are bad and the Black Lives Matter agenda is good.

With emotions running high, any incident of blacks being killed by police — justified or not — are being swept into the same conclusion of widespread institutional racism and a call for racial justice.

Inexplicably, business leaders are jeopardizing their brands and contributing to racial tension by echoing the racial bias claims of Black Lives Matter, giving legitimacy to the radical organization.

The support from the business world is adding fuel to the racial fire widening the division among Americans.

The Black Lives Matter got a nationwide boost in September when San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick decided to sit during the National Anthem. Kaepernick’s action sparked football players throughout the National Football League and college football to follow suit.

Instead of enforcing a ban on protests during the National Anthem, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell expressed support for individual protests on the football field saying, “I don’t necessarily agree with what he’s doing. I support our players when they want to see change in society, and we don’t live in a perfect world.”

At the same time, Goodell refused a request from the Dallas Cowboys to place a decal on the back of their helmets to recognize the police officers that were assassinated during a Black Lives Matter protest in Dallas.

Normally very protective of the NFL brand, Goodell put the league’s reputation in question by siding with Black Lives Matter. By doing so, he made it acceptable for individual expression on the football field.

Because of Goodell’s lack of leadership, discussion of National Anthem protests are part of the NFL news coverage, pitting players against players and analysts against analysts as well as alienating fans.

Fans disgusted by actions disrespecting the American flag are pushing back hard against the NFL. A Twitter hashtag #BoycottNFL was created and backed by actor James Woods.

Fan backlash, led by the Twitter boycott campaign, appears to be affecting the NFL with TV ratings down significantly this year.

Goodell is not the only Black Lives Matter sympathizer in the business world.

AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson promoted Black Lives Matter in a speech about racial tension at a recent employee conference in Dallas.

During his speech, Stephenson lumped recent shootings in the U.S. including Ferguson, MO, Baton Rouge, LA, the Dallas police assassinations, and the mass shooting in Orlando, FL, under one umbrella, concluding that, “We have a problem.”

He added, “communities being destroyed by racial tension but we are too polite to talk about it.”

Stephenson explained he was recently enlightened about race issues from the experiences of his black friend, a medical doctor that suffered racism during his upbringing in Louisiana.

Afflicted by a serious case of white guilt, Stephenson expressed his new understanding of “black lives matter” and realizes the inappropriateness of the “all lives matter” response used by critics.

Stephenson urged his employees to discuss race as a way to understand each other and close the racial divide.

Promoting Black Lives Matter as penance for not understanding the racial bias a friend experienced is a dangerous proposition for AT&T shareholders.

Clearly, Stephenson is ignorant or ignoring the fact that Black Lives Matter rhetoric resulted in the deaths of police officers and the destruction of millions of dollars’ worth of property in cities.

Backlash from customers, including law enforcement members and families that understand the radical nature of Black Lives Matter, could harm AT&T’s business in a competitive marketplace.

As a leader of a major corporation, Stephenson could improve the lives of blacks by tackling the economic underpinnings that’s resulted in bleak job prospects in urban areas.

Turning on AT&T’s lobbying power to push for lower taxes, regulations, and school choice would yield economic benefits, but that might alienate the progressive Democrat machine that regulates its business.

For executives like Stephenson, it’s so much easier to fall for bumper sticker statements such as Black Lives Matter without regard to the deleterious consequences of the movement than to solve the underlying economic conditions that result in poverty and crime.

Goodell and Stephenson are useful idiots in Obama’s plan to fundamentally transform America by dividing Americans along racial lines. (For more from the author of “Useless Idiots: NFL Bows at the Altar of Black Lives Matter” please click HERE)

Separating the Value of Black Lives From the Black Lives Matter Movement

Did you know that if you support the Black Lives Matter movement — as in the official, BlackLivesMatter.com website — you are not only standing with black Americans but also standing with a radical social agenda including queer and transgender activism along with the disrupting of the nuclear family?

Before I demonstrate this to you, allow me to explain the purpose of this article. I write with the goal of standing with my African-American brothers and sisters for true and full equality in America while encouraging them to distance themselves from leaders and movements who do as much harm (if not much more harm) than good.

NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, whom I recently addressed over this very issue, would do well to heed this warning.

But first, a moment of personal background for those who do not listen to my daily talk radio show, the Line of Fire.

For several years now, God-fearing, law-abiding African-Americans have called the broadcast and, with great respect and humility, told me that I have no idea what it’s like to be a black American, that I have no idea how much racial prejudice still exists in our country, and that I have no idea how many obstacles black Americans still face.

I for one don’t doubt what they’re saying, which is why I spoke of the “very real challenges faced by African-Americans” in my open letter to Kaepernick, also mentioning the “very real problems that do exist in America, including issues of racial discrimination and injustice.”

The perspective of my callers was echoed by Dr. Brian Williams, one of the doctors who tried to save the lives of the Dallas policemen who were assassinated by an African-American shooter in July. Speaking as both a doctor and a black American, Dr. Williams said, “This is much more complicated for me personally.”

As he explained, “There’s this dichotomy where I’m standing with law enforcement, but I also personally feel that angst that comes when you cross the path of an officer in uniform and you’re fearing for your safety. I’ve been there, and I understand that.”

And yet there he was in anguish, trying to save the lives of these officers, men whom, in a different setting, he would have unduly feared.

As a white American, I cannot relate to this personally, although I grew up in the most open-minded household you could imagine, with my first organ teacher being openly gay (he and his partner would often stay for dinner with the family) and my second organ teacher being a black man who was married to a white woman, which cost both of them dearly in the 1960s.

The fact is that I have never been racially profiled and I have not faced some of the challenges that many of my black brothers and sisters have faced, all of which brings me to say this: I am glad that we are revisiting the question of racial injustice in America but I believe that movements like Black Lives Matter are hurting the cause more than helping it.

In similar fashion, as stated in my open letter, I have no issue with Kaepernick wanting to take a stand for his beliefs. I simply believe he’s using the wrong setting and putting an emphasis on the wrong issue.

Has he himself been negatively influenced by Black Lives Matter?

According to FoxNews.com, “NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s conversion to social activism coincided with his romancing of a hip hop DJ of Egyptian descent [Nessa Diab] who has frequently spoken about perceived racial injustices and ‘Islamaphobia’ in the U.S.” (There are also reports that he has converted to Islam, but these have been disputed.)

Diab is popular on MTV and is associated with Islamic activism and with the Black Lives Matter movement, which would help to explain the change in Kaepernick’s Instagram account in the four months it has been in existence.

Initially, most of his posts centered on him playing football. “But 31 of his last 42 posts have strong social justice connotations, often featuring quotes from radical Nation of Islam leader Malcolm X, Black Panthers founder Huey Newton and cop killer Assata Shakur. During a Sunday news conference about the flag flap, Kaepernick dressed in a black hat with a large, white ‘X’ and a T-shirt that featured photos of Cuban despot Fidel Castro and Malcolm X.”

What about the Black Lives Matter movement itself? Not only is it allegedly supported by extreme leftists like George Soros, and not only have some of its foundational myths been exposed, but it forthrightly proclaims its radical social agenda on its website for everyone to see. How many have taken notice?

Under its guiding principles page, along with subjects like Loving Engagement (which does not overtly call for non-violent resistance but does make a positive statement), there are also headings like this: Black Villages: “We are committed to disrupting the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and ‘villages’ that collectively care for one another, and especially ‘our’ children to the degree that mothers, parents and children are comfortable.”

So, this movement opposes the very structure which is most under attack in black America today — namely, the nuclear family — also failing to mention “fathers” by name (note the references to mothers, parents, and children, but not fathers). What kind of social madness is this?

Other guiding principles include being Queer Affirming, under which heading it is affirmed that, “… When we gather, we do so with the intention of freeing ourselves from the tight grip of heteronormative thinking …” There is also the call to be Transgender Affirming, where it is explained that, “… We are committed to being self-reflexive and doing the work required to dismantle cisgender privilege and uplift Black trans folk ….”

Is this really a movement that can represent African-Americans nationwide? I think not.

That’s why it’s essential for those who really want to address questions of social injustice — be it the effects of the Democrat-led welfare system or apparent disparities in prison sentences or other apparent injustices — to distance themselves from the Black Lives Matter movement and take a reasoned stand for righteousness.

As you do, I’m standing with you, shoulder to shoulder, as best as I can. (For more from the author of “Separating the Value of Black Lives From the Black Lives Matter Movement” please click HERE)

Black Lives Matter Wants to Dismantle Police Forces, and Now They Have $100 Million to Do It

Black Lives Matter, which is trying to grow from a street-level movement to a political powerhouse, has just received pledges of cash most organizations only dream of: more than $100 million from foundations eager to join the bandwagon for social justice — and a whole lot more.

The money comes from the Ford Foundation, Borealis Philanthropy, George Soros and the Center for American Progress, but the direction of all that money (and power) is to radically disrupt American politics — and to dismantle our nation’s police forces.

This isn’t hyperbole. This comes from Movement Strategy Center, the group spearheading the direction of all that money for the Black-Led Movement Fund.

From their grounding document:

To create communities of care and safety we need to move simultaneously to end racialized and gendered inequality. The anti-black/anti-human violence at the heart of our police and military is there to defend and maintain our system of economic inequality. Ending violence and inequality must happen together.

We need to send the police home and start over. These institutions can not be incrementally reformed. They need to be disarmed and disbanded. Community needs to take charge of community safety.

What do we do when the real solution is clear but seems impossible?

We turn to movements make the impossible possible.

In one place.

Then in many.

Then everywhere.

#RevolutionInValues
#DisarmThePolice
#DismantleThePolice

#CommuntySafteyThroughCareAndCommunitySolutions

Take a moment and review those hashtags. “We are all better off without them.”

Remember Dallas? Remember Baton Rouge? The men who put their lives on the line, the black cop who had the heartbreaking FB post days before he was shot for being a cop?

Police reform is possible. Dallas shows that. Calling for an end to the police, to the military, to any sort of defense against evil, is nothing short of suicidal.

In addition to BLM’s anti-police agenda, the group has called Israel an “apartheid state” guilty of “genocide.” It’s a move that may cause a deep rupture between the group and progressive Jews who agree with BLM’s domestic aims but see the official BLM platform as promoting anti-Semitism.

As Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz writes in The Jerusalem Post, “To support an organization or movement that promotes anti-Semitism because it also supports good causes is the beginning of the road to accepting racism. Many racist groups have also promoted causes that deserve support.”

Dana Beyer at Huffington Post wrote that

the Jewish community is the best ally the black community can have … Throwing a wrench into that relationship, as happened fifty years ago, out of pique, spite, anti-Semitism or some legitimate grievances, will do no one any good. Tying the BLM movement to any foreign issue, let alone the sole Jewish state on the planet, is plain stupid. Doing so in support of a community which includes terrorist members who enslave Africans is suicidal.

It may be poor policy, but a group so radical as to call Israel genocidal has declared America’s criminal justice system irreparably broken. Now that they have more money than almost any other political group, we’ll see what they do with it. What Would Happen If Milwaukee Protesters Had Their Way?

The 2015-2016 academic year will likely be remembered by historians as “The Year of College Tantrums.” We saw conservative speakers banned or uninvited from campuses. Words written in chalk caused hysterical students to seek counseling and safe spaces. Far-left radical Mizzou Professor Melissa “I Need Some Muscle Over Here” Click forcefully stopped journalists from news gathering (Irony alert: She was a communications professor).

As the year progressed, we started seeing groups of students nationwide “occupying” various university administrators’ offices. They would present a list of demands, and promise to stay until their demands were met. Some school officials collapsed like a house of cards and gave in to the demands. Other officials had the fortitude to ignore the occupying groups, and had them removed from their no-longer safe spaces.

Once common and disturbing demand targeted university police departments. Headlines declared:

UC Irvine Black Student Union Demands End to Campus Police Department

Washington College Students Demand Power To Fire Police Who Microaggress Them

Portland State students stage ‘die-in,’ block traffic to demand unarmed police

Occidental Students Demand ‘No Bulletproof Vests’ for Safety Officers

This hatred and scorn of police by college students has been building for years. From President Obama, to Hillary Clinton, to the Justice Department, to big-city Mayors, to Black Lives Matter, police everywhere have been endangered by the volatile and caustic words and actions of the Left.

This is also, by no means, limited to college campuses. At most marches by Black Lives Matter and other aligned groups, you will see various signs to disband, defund, and/or disarm police departments. Earlier this month, The Village Voice reported that Protesters Say They Will Occupy City Hall Park Until the NYPD Is No More. Soon after, NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton resigned. This seems only like a partial victory for the protesters, as the NYPD is still fighting crime in the five boroughs.

It is obviously a ridiculous concept that police departments take off their bulletproof vests, stop using guns, or disband altogether. But for argument’s sake, let’s give the special snowflakes on campus their fantasy of a police-free America.

Since history at many universities has been replaced by classes like “In Defense of Looting,” you might forgive college students for not knowing about the destruction that occurred in cities like Ferguson and Baltimore in the aftermath of the deaths of Michael Brown and Freddie Gray. Students might have missed the videos of looting and arson of small businesses in their communities. The destruction would have been much more wide-spread were it not for law enforcement risking their lives to protect the very people that hate them.

Since it is summer, and students are not in class, you might also forgive them for not following the events in Milwaukee. The riots, looting, arson, and general violence seem to have taken a more sinister turn. There are videos all over the web of groups of people rampaging through sections of Milwaukee, like scenes from “The Purge” or any movie about dystopian anarchy. We are seeing cop cars getting pelted with bricks, and cops themselves being hit and knocked out by rocks and bottles.

Most disturbingly, there are many videos online of people specifically targeting whites, and yelling on camera about attacking them, some chanting “F**k white people!” A man named Tim Pool, known for live-streaming protests nationwide tweeted that “Due to escalating racial tensions I am pulling out of #Milwaukee and will no longer be covering it.”

I can’t imagine how the Milwaukee Police Department is working under such life-threatening conditions. I also cannot imagine a Milwaukee without a Milwaukee Police Department. What do those who want police departments to just vanish actually expect to happen? Somehow, magically, crime will stop and criminals will take up macramé?

It’s one thing to criticize and demand change if you sincerely believe that police are committing misdeeds. It’s complete madness to demand a world without police. The United States is a civil society and a nation of laws, regardless of what some moronic 19-year old working towards a degree in Intersectional Cis-Womyn Studies thinks. Putrid, Cop-Hating BLM Hecklers Erupt During Moment of Silence for Fallen Officers

DNC attendees acted completely classless and vile when they interrupted a moment of silence for fallen police officers Thursday night.

Shouts of “Black Lives Matter!” were shouted more than once during the tribute. Even Democrats on Twitter were disgusted at the lack of respect.

One observer reminded the #DemsinPhilly to get their hate in order!

Nice that some liberals have their priorities straight. (For more from the author of “Putrid, Cop-Hating BLM Hecklers Erupt During Moment of Silence for Fallen Officers” please click HERE)

Atlanta Mayor Flatly Rejects Demand From Local ‘Black Lives Matter’ Group to Cut Ties With ‘Apartheid Israel’

The mayor of Atlanta on Monday flatly refused a demand by protesters associated with the Black Lives Matter movement to terminate the local police force’s cooperation and training with Israel.

Mayor Kasim Reed denied the request at a meeting with members of #ALTisReady — self-described as a “collective of student activists, community organizers and leaders working to amplify Black and other marginalized voices in Atlanta” — to discuss improving the relationship between police and the community, a week after hundreds of protesters gathered outside the Georgia governor’s mansion . . .

In a press conference following the meeting, Kasim told reporters:

There was a demand that I stop allowing the Atlanta Police Department to train with the Israeli Police Department. I’m not going to do that. I happen to believe that the Israeli Police Department has some of the best counter-terrorism techniques in the world and it benefits our police department from that long-standing relationship. That was a specific demand.

Over the last several months, the Black Lives Matter movement has become closely aligned with anti-Zionist and antisemitic movements, most notably the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) initiative. The logic behind the connection between the groups, according to anti-Israel activists, is that both are representing and defending dark-skinned minorities against oppressors. #CIVILWAR: When the Commander-In-Chief Acts as the De Facto Head of a Terror Group Called #BlackLivesMatter

The ambush-style mass shooting of cops in Dallas, Texas, last week makes it clear that it is time for the dangerous, anti-American insurgency called Black Lives Matter to be designated a terrorist organization for fomenting a war against the nation’s law enforcement officers.

Five officers were killed during a demonstration in downtown Dallas against police brutality that leftists say is directed at black Americans as a matter of government policy. Similar marches and rallies took place in other cities, including New York, Oakland, Calif., and Denver, Colo.

Of course, murdering police officers has long been encouraged by activists with the Black Lives Matter cult, with the support of the activist Left.

A year ago Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, who openly advocates the mass murder of whites, called for “10,000 fearless men” to “rise up and kill those who kill us.” Like many radicals, Farrakhan mischaracterizes Black Lives Matter as a rising civil rights movement.

President Barack Obama, who a decade ago promoted inter-racial warfare in Kenya, has long tried to provoke civil unrest here in the U.S. with his hateful anti-cop rhetoric and his relentless demonization of opponents. His goal is fundamental transformation of the United States. A Red diaper baby who identifies violence-espousing communist Frantz Fanon as an intellectual influence, he has also steadfastly refused to condemn the explicitly racist, violent Black Lives Matter movement. In fact Obama has lavished attention on the movement’s leaders and invited them to the White House over and over again.

Members of the Democratic National Committee expressly endorsed Black Lives Matter, throwing their lot in with black racists and radical Black Power militants. The DNC officially embraced a statement that slams the U.S. for allegedly systemic police violence against black people. A resolution passed by hundreds of delegates at the DNC meeting in Minneapolis last year accuses the nation’s police of “extrajudicial killings of unarmed African American men, women and children.”

The Left persists in these lies because, well, that’s what these people do.

According to one analysis, of all the people shot and killed in the U.S. by police so far in 2016, only 24 percent, or 122, were black. Black people are only about 13 percent of the population but they commit around half of all violent crimes. So far this year 47 percent of people shot and killed by police, or 235 individuals, were white.

Only 3 percent, or 13 people shot and killed by police year to date were black and unarmed. The percentage for whites is exactly the same. In other words, police are shooting and killing unarmed blacks and whites at the same rate, Paul Joseph Watson observes.

“There’s no racial disparity,” he says. “Do we have a problem with police brutality in America? Yes, undoubtedly. Is it almost exclusively targeted towards black people as Black Lives Matter claims? No, but the polarizing way in which Black Lives Matter made it all about race has divided the nation and made half of the country completely disinterested.”

Watson addresses “black people,” telling them that “Black Lives Matter is hurting you. It’s doing incredible harm. Martin Luther King achieved justice and civil rights by championing equality and building bridges with white America.”

Black Lives Matter, on the other hand, demands racial segregation, keeps whites out of its meetings, and urges the killing of police, he adds. . .

In its intensifying assaults on American law enforcement the Left seized upon a police-involved death earlier in the week of a notoriously violent criminal in Louisiana who had reportedly menaced an innocent by-stander with a gun.

Recidivist felon Alton Sterling, a black offender well known to local law enforcement, was shot to death by police early last Tuesday morning in Baton Rouge following a physical struggle with police in which Sterling may have reached for a weapon. Both officers “believe they were completely justified in using deadly force,” according to the local district attorney.

Although even with graphic video footage of the shooting it’s not entirely clear what happened as the two cops and Sterling struggled, the Left has moved full speed ahead portraying the deceased career criminal as a martyr slaughtered by the evil system that rules a hopelessly racist America.

The Left reveres thugs. It jumped on the bandwagon promoting the lie that Michael Brown of Ferguson, Mo., and Trayvon Martin of Sanford, Fla., were innocent angels unjustly cut down by white executioners. The truth, as we now know, is that both young black men were killed in self-defense by the white men they intended to harm.

It is telling that the Left is paying far less attention to a much more sympathetic figure killed by police this week in Falcon Heights, a suburb of St. Paul, Minn., because the story of his death doesn’t fit its predetermined anti-American narrative quite as well. It’s not merely about racial conflict potentially: it is also about the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

Philando Castile, 32, a black man with no felony convictions who worked in a school cafeteria, was shot by police during a traffic stop. According to Castile’s girlfriend, Diamond “Lavish” Reynolds, who live-streamed video on Facebook of the stricken man in his final moments, Castile was trying to retrieve his wallet after informing an apparently light-skinned attending officer that he was in possession of a concealed weapon and a permit allowing him to carry it. Perhaps Castile made a move the officer considered threatening. Or maybe the cop was nervous and trigger-happy.

“He let the officer know that he had a firearm, and he was reaching for his wallet and the officer just shot him in his arm,” Reynolds said. In the video as the bloodied driver lay dying the policeman could be heard using expletives and screaming, “I told him not to reach for it.”

Reynolds replied, “You told him to get his ID, sir – his driver’s license.”

Because the Castile case appears to involve gun rights and perhaps other issues possibly unrelated to race, it is harder for left-wing activist groups to fundraise off of. This would explain why the Left is giving the case far less play than the marquee Sterling shooting. And to the extent that progressives have taken up Castile’s cause they are treating it solely as a racial incident. Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton (D) said he was “appalled” by the shooting and that it would not have happened if Castile had been white.

But with Alton Sterling, it is as if his supporters hired teams of publicists to get the desired message out to the masses.

Ignoring Sterling’s two decades of criminal activity, Black Lives Matter quickly went to work inflaming racial antagonism while the man’s body was still warm. The movement characterized the incident as an extrajudicial execution by racist cops. It was aided in this public relations offensive by biased saturation coverage of the Sterling saga by the media.

The movement’s most important cheerleader, President Obama, gleefully stuck a shiv in police, crowing that recent fatal shootings of black suspects by police “are not isolated incidents.”

“They are symptomatic of the broader challenges within our criminal justice system, the racial disparities that appear across the system year after year, and the resulting lack of trust that exists between law enforcement and too many of the communities they serve.”

Predictably MoveOn and Color of Change –which was founded by self-described “rowdy black nationalist” Van Jones and MoveOn alumnus James Rucker— didn’t bother waiting for the facts to be known before using the incident to raise money. On Wednesday MoveOn sent out a mass email to members demanding that U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch hold the police officers involved accountable.

In the email Color of Change executive director Rashad Robinson paints Sterling as an upstanding citizen, describing him as “a 37-year-old Black father of five,” capitalizing the B in black as racists do. The police officers involved “have no respect for Black lives and must be held accountable,” he added.

Celebrities weighed in with vapid and condescending observations.

Singer Beyoncé posted what a groveling USA Today called a “powerful letter” about police brutality. “We’re going to stand up as a community and fight against anyone who believes that murder or any violent action by those who are sworn to protect us should consistently go unpunished,” she wrote, presuming that Americans don’t care about murders committed by police.

Chris Long, who makes his living being hit in the head, chose to insert himself into the story. The defensive end for the New England Patriots was happy to convene a lynch mob on Twitter. He tweeted “If you think we need to ‘wait for the facts’ on the Alton Sterling execution after seeing the video, you are an accessory to evil.”

What is clear is that if the Left is serious about moving its race war forward, it is hanging its future on a pretty slim reed by hyping the Sterling killing.

This is not to suggest that Sterling, who had been living in a homeless shelter, deserved to die. Maybe in the end we’ll find out the cops who dealt with him were overzealous, reckless, malicious, or racist, or all of these things. Perhaps this was a suicide by cop. Time will tell.

Let’s go over what we know.

The Advocate in Baton Rouge reports that on July 5,

“Around 12:35 a.m., Baton Rouge police responded to the Triple S Food Mart at 2112 N. Foster Drive after an anonymous caller indicated that a man in a red shirt who was selling CDs outside the store pointed a gun at someone, telling them to leave the property, Baton Rouge Police Department spokesman Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said.”

Apparently authentic cellphone videos from the scene soon went viral. They showed two police officers scrapping with Sterling beside a car in a parking lot. “Get on the ground! Get on the ground!” an officer is heard yelling in the early seconds of one clip. The sound of what may be a stun gun can be heard.

“He’s got a gun! Gun,” one cop says. “If you f***ing move, I swear to God,” says an officer. It is unclear what Sterling, who reportedly had a gun on his person at the time, is doing with his arms at this point because the officers are on top of him. In audio that is garbled, one of the officers can be heard saying what seems to be “he’s going for the Taser!” Shots ring out at various points in the confrontation and Sterling is mortally wounded.

Some local sources were quoted in the media saying Sterling was a kind, peace-loving, respected member of the community. If that’s true, that doesn’t speak well of his community.

Sterling was a bad actor with a temper who had gotten physical with police before. The incorrigible reprobate’s rap sheet is long. (Heavy obtained 46 pages of court documents from his criminal file.)

Sterling was convicted of aggravated battery, criminal damage to property, unauthorized entry, and domestic abuse battery, among other offenses.

An affidavit of probable cause states Sterling was involved in 2009 in a wrestling match with a police officer. A cop tried to pat down the man and he resisted arrest. The two men ended up on rolling around on the ground and a “black semi auto gun fell from his waistband.” Another affidavit states a cop pulled Sterling over for speeding. He didn’t have proof of insurance and police allowed him to retrieve his belongings from his vehicle. He crossed the street, laid himself on the pavement in a prone position, yelled at the cops and told them to “go ahead and beat him down regardless of the outcome.” Other such affidavits accuse Sterling of home invasion, burglary, threatening with a gun, stealing pet goldfish, and possession of ecstasy and marijuana.

Sterling was also a registered sex offender, Heavy reports. At the age of 20 he impregnated a 14-year-old girl. In September 2000 he was convicted of “carnal knowledge of a juvenile” in Louisiana and released from prison in October 2004. In August 2015 a warrant was issued for Sterling’s arrest after he failed to update his sex offender registration.

In 2011 he was convicted of “knowingly and intentionally possessing a firearm while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance” and sentenced to five years imprisonment. A drug trafficking-related charge was thrown out apparently as part of a plea bargain.

Meanwhile, the Democrat machine in the Pelican State is doing everything it can to turn Baton Rouge into the new Ferguson, complete with race riots and wanton lawlessness.

Kip Holden (D), mayor-president of East Baton Rouge Parish, said Wednesday he was touched to receive a supportive phone call from the buffoonish Baltimore mayor, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake (D), who helped to exacerbate race riots in her city after the death of black career criminal Freddie Gray in police custody, because “they’ve been through the same thing.”

How reassuring.

The Left’s goal is to polarize and enrage and foment even more racial tension and violence to distract from presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s endless political problems, as well as to energize the party’s base so they vote in droves in November. They may even blame unrest in Baton Rouge on congressional Republicans who refuse to fight back. Blaming Islamic terrorist Omar Mateen’s murderous rampage at a gay club in Orlando on Republicans and law-abiding gun owners worked, so why not.

Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards (D) invited his friends in the Obama administration to turn this local investigation into a three-ring media circus. The U.S. Department of Justice announced it would open a civil rights investigation after Edwards demanded it. “I have very serious concerns,” he said. “The video is disturbing, to say the least.”

Getting the feds involved means the Obama administration is sure to deploy government-paid community organizers from DoJ’s Community Relations Service to rub raw the sores of discontent.

After Trayvon Martin’s death in early 2012, local police declined to press charges against the eventually acquitted George Zimmerman for a month and a half because they believed the criminal case against him was ridiculously weak. CRS burned through taxpayer cash organizing marches at which participants inflamed racial tensions and –voila!— Zimmerman was prosecuted in what would become a historic abuse of process.

Almost immediately after Michael Brown died in August 2014, CRS operatives arrived on the ground in Ferguson to interview and indoctrinate local members of the community. As Ryan Lovelace reported at NRO paraphrasing Mayor James Knowles III, “DOJ officials talked about underlying racism that people may not perceive, and the issue of white privilege.”

East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Hillar Moore (D) seems not to understand that having the Obama-controlled Justice Department take over the Sterling investigation is a monumentally bad idea. Explaining why the local government refuses to investigate its own police, Moore said feebly at a press conference, “absolutely, we did not want another Ferguson. Baton Rouge is not Ferguson; we have a completely different history,” Moore said.

Good luck with that, counselor.

Black Lives Matter Leader Charged With Pimping a 17-Year-Old Girl

A Black Lives Matter activist who operates a social justice charity was arrested last month on charges of sex trafficking a 17-year-old girl.

Charles Wade co-founded Operation Help or Hush in the aftermath of the August 2014 police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. The group claims it helps raise funds for the needy and provide food and shelter for activists.

But according to a police report obtained by TheDC, the 33-year-old Wade was raising money in more explicit ways.

He was arrested on April 25 at a motel where he resided in College Park, Md. Police say he was using the motel room to pimp a 17-year-old girl.

He’s charged with seven counts, including felonies for human trafficking. The charges carry sentences of up to 25 years in prison and a $15,000 fine. Wade posted $25,000 bond and left jail on April 27. (Read more from “Black Lives Matter Leader Charged With Pimping a 17-Year-Old Girl” HERE)

Black Lives Matter Organizer Posts Guide to Riotwear… in Arabic

A Black Lives Matter activist who was part of the Ferguson riots posted a visual guide to urban riot wear in both English and Arabic on Twitter.

The tweet is significant because it was posted by Ashley Yates, who uses the handle @BrownBlaze on Twitter. Yates is a prominent protest organizer in the Black Lives Matter movement who is an advocate for violence. The Guardian quoted her in 2014 during her involvement with the Ferguson protest:

“If they can’t serve justice in this, the people have every right to go out and express their rage in a manner that is equal to what we have suffered,” said Ashley Yates, a co-founder of Millennial Activists United, who was arrested last week while protesting in Ferguson.

Yates learned organizing when she was the political chair of the Legion of Black Collegians at the University of Missouri Columbia; the group who was behind last year’s campus uprising there. Yates was not with the group at the time of that protest, however . . .

The tweet from @BrownBlaze came shortly after she’d retweeted an article from Jason Leopold discussing Cleveland’s plans to buy riot gear in anticipation of the Republican National Convention.
