CAIR Attempts to Blame Trump for New Zealand Massacre

By ABC News. A top Muslim organization is blasting President Donald Trump after a mass shooting at two mosques in New Zealand left 49 people dead and dozens more injured.

“During your presidency and during your election campaign, Islamophobia took a sharp rise and attacks on innocent Muslims, innocent immigrants and mosques have skyrocketed,” Nihad Awad the Executive Director and co-founder of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Muslim civil rights and advocacy group, said at a press conference.

Police in New Zealand say the alleged gunman, described as being in his late 20s, opened fire inside a mosque in Christchurch and that a shooting at a different mosque killed a total of at least 49 worshipers gathered for Friday prayers. Authorities say a lengthy online document, posted after the shooting and linked to the alleged gunman’s video of the shooting, praised other mass shooters, advocated white supremacy and detailed hatred for immigrants.

“We hold you responsible for this growing anti-Muslim sentiment in the country and in Europe, but we also do not excuse those terrorist attackers against minorities at home and abroad,” he continued. (Read more from “CAIR Attempts to Blame Trump for New Zealand Massacre” HERE)

New Zealand Terrorist Attack Suspect Grins in Court

By Al Jazeera. The Australian suspect arrested after dozens of worshippers were gunned down in two mosques appeared unrepentant in court in New Zealand on Saturday, staring down media members with a smirk on his face.

Brenton Tarrant, 28, appeared in a Christchurch District Court and was charged with murder. He was remanded without a plea until his next appearance in the South Island city’s High Court on April 5.

Handcuffed, shoeless, and wearing a white prison suit, Tarrant did not speak. His court-appointed lawyer made no application for bail or name suppression.

He made an “okay” hand gesture during his court appearance, a symbol often used for signalling support for the white supremacist ideology. . .

“He came into court, he didn’t say anything at all. He stood there looking directly at the media in the courtroom and was smirking throughout his appearance,” Thomas reported. (Read more from “New Zealand Terrorist Attack Suspect Grins in Court” HERE)

Rashida Tlaib Joins Extremist Imam on CAIR Speaking Circuit

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., a self-proclaimed liberal progressive, will speak alongside an extremist imam at an event hosted by the Michigan chapter of the terror-tied Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) next month. The Hamas-connected outfit is infamously known for being labeled an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism financing case in U.S. history.

On March 17, Rep. Tlaib will join Omar Suleiman, a Muslim Brotherhood-linked imam who has a long history of anti-LGBT, anti-woman, and anti-Semitic remarks, at the fundraising event in Detroit. Tickets will cost $50 per person, or $500 to reserve a table.

Imam Suleiman has referred to homosexuality as a “disease” and a “repugnant shameless sin” that he believes is justifiable to punish by death. Additionally, the radical imam has endorsed mandatory hijabs for all women, even when they are around family members. In a 2012 sermon, he warned that women who do not wear a full hijab risk an incestous relationship with their family members. In that address, he added that women who commit adultery run the risk of being honor-killed by their family members, without condemning the practice of honor killing. On the foreign policy front, Suleiman regularly cheers on Hamas-led violent Islamist uprisings against Israel in calling for the elimination of the Jewish state.

Dawud Walid, the longtime CAIR-Michigan director who is presiding over the event, also has a long history of extremist rhetoric. At a 2012 sermon at a mosque in Michigan, he described Jews as enemies of Islam who have “incurred the wrath of Allah.” Moreover, Walid has endorsed blasphemy laws that call for violent repercussions for engaging in criticism of Islam or Muhammad. Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, the president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, has described Walid as one of the “leading radicalizers of American Muslims.”

It’s odd that Tlaib has decided to share a stage with the sexist, gay-bashing, anti-Semitic imam and an extremist CAIR director, as she has routinely identified herself as a progressive feminist and an advocate for LGBT rights.

It does appear that Tlaib agrees with the two hate-preachers when it comes to the Jewish state of Israel. Its mere existence as a sovereign state has become an obsession for the newly elected “Palestinian-American” congresswoman. On day one of her congressional tenure, Tlaib’s office wiped Israel off of her office map, replacing it with a post-it note that said “Palestine” on it.

Tlaib has become a regular on the CAIR circuit. In February, she headlined a CAIR-Chicago fundraiser. In January, she spoke at a CAIR event in which she was introduced by an avowed supporter of the U.S.-designated terrorist organization Hamas.

Rep. Tlaib is not the only elected congressional representative speaking at a CAIR event next month. On March 23, her Democratic colleague, anti-Semitic Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., will speak at a CAIR fundraiser in Los Angeles. (For more from the author of “Rashida Tlaib Joins Extremist Imam on CAIR Speaking Circuit” please click HERE)

CAIR Is Silent on U.S. Imams’ Call to Kill Jews

In December 2017, Islamist Watch documented three different instances in which the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) ignored Islamist hate speech against other minorities.

Since then, we’ve continued to ask CAIR for comment on egregious instances of Islamist bigotry. CAIR often condemns hate speech when it’s committed by the far-Right, but it appears silent when extremists within the Muslim community – which it claims to represent – express similar rhetoric.

So far, 2018 has already brought us four examples. On January 2, we contacted CAIR Texas to ask for comment on a Houston-based imam named Raed Saleh Al-Rousan, who had preached, “Judgment Day will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews. The Muslims will kill the Jews…This is the promise of Allah.” Both CAIR-Texas executive director Mustafaa Carroll and communications director Ruth Nasrullah ignored our request.

On January 15, we contacted CAIR-National and their southeast chapters (Alabama and Georgia) to ask for comment on yet another anti-Semitic sermon. This time, the culprit was North Carolina-based, Syrian-born imam Abdullah Khadra, who had delivered a similar sermon to that of Al-Rousan. We received no response from any CAIR branch. Uh-Oh: Look Who’s Supporting McMaster Now

If H.R. McMaster’s commitment to President Trump’s conservative agenda is to be judged by those who defend him and want him to stay on as White House national security adviser, it’s not looking good for him.

In the past McMaster has been publicly defended by Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., groups funded by George Soros and Media Matters.

Now comes the latest endorsement, from the Islamist group CAIR, also known as the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which was shown in federal court to be a front group for Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood’s branch in the Holy Land.

CAIR tweeted as part of its daily “Islamophobia Watch” series:

CAIR also linked its tweet to a story in Newsweek titled “Why Is the Alt-Right Attacking H.R. McMaster?” (Read more from “Uh-Oh: Look Who’s Supporting McMaster Now” HERE)

MEET THE “ISLAMOPHOBES”: From Bill Maher to Mark Levin

What do talk show host Bill Maher, author and Eagle Forum Founder Phyllis Schlafley and Conservative Review Editor-in-Chief Mark Levin all have in common? They’re all Islamophobes, according to a new report released by the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) on Tuesday.

“Confronting Fear: Islamophobia and its Impact on the U.S. 2013-2015” is a joint project of CAIR and the U.C. Berkeley Center for Race and Gender meant to outline the funding streams for, and cast aspersions on, what it calls “The U.S. Islamophobe Network.” This list boasts 33 “inner core” and 41 “outer core” groups, while offering “a four-point strategy designed to achieve a shared American understanding of Islam in which being Muslim carries a positive connotation.”

CAIR’s “inner core” consists of “[g]roups whose primary purpose is to promote prejudice against or hatred of Islam and Muslims and whose work regularly demonstrates Islamophobic themes,” while the “outer core” is made up of “[g]roups whose primary purpose does not appear to include promoting prejudice against or hatred of Islam and Muslims, but whose work regularly demonstrates or supports Islamophobic themes.”

Essentially, it’s a hit job on anyone who has ever dared say anything negative about radical Islam and has ever been willing to speak up against it. Such groups included on CAIR’s Islamophobe list include:

ACT! For America, American Islamic Forum for Democracy, Center for the Study of Political Islam, Clarion Project, David Horowitz Freedom Center, Florida Family Association (Fla.), Investigative Project on Terrorism, Jihad Watch, Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), Tennessee Freedom Coalition (Tenn.), Adelson Family Foundation, American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), American Family Association, American Islamic Leadership Coalition, Christian Broadcasting Network, Concerned Women for America, Eagle, the Glenn Beck Program, HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, the Mark Levin Show, National Review, Really Big Coloring Books, Inc, The Washington Times, and WND.

Again, these are some. Not all.

But let’s not forget who’s throwing these labels around here.

We’re talking about CAIR. This is a group affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood and was an unindicted co-conspirator in the 2007 Holy Land Foundation case, in which the DOJ investigated and prosecuted a conspiracy to direct funding to Hamas. Ironically, or maybe not, this is also the same group that President Obama confers with on his “countering violent extremism” agenda.

The Ku Klux Klan is the oldest of America’s hate groups, and in 1925 the white supremacist group could boast four million members and enormous political influence and popular support. Today, however, their numbers and resources are vastly diminished, their bigoted views are socially and politically marginalized, and they are virtually irrelevant within the national landscape. This progressive erosion of the Klan’s social acceptability serves as a model for CAIR’s strategy toward contemporary Islamophobic groups.

So not only are critics of Jihadism to be labeled Islamophobes en masse, but they should also be delegitimized with the same scrutiny of the Ku Klux Klan.

From a tactical perspective, the move is brilliant. This is the same thing that the social left used to silence and browbeat social conservatives for years on every single issue even remotely related to marriage and the family, and it all began with the Southern Poverty Law Center similarly designating every pro-traditional marriage organization in existence as a “hate group.”

Once that happened, it wasn’t too long before it no longer mattered to many how compelling the argument for conjugal, stable, permanent families was and still is. Now, if you hold the position, you’re labeled a hate-mongering bigot and are not to be trusted.

CAIR’s “network” looks similar in scope. It doesn’t matter that many of the groups listed in this report have clearly made the distinction between peaceful interpretations of Islam that don’t seek to subvert our way of life and Jihadism. They’ve been branded; Saul Alinsky would be proud.

“Let’s nudge ourselves from our Religion of Peace’ slumbers for a moment and consider Muslim Brotherhood ideology,” writes Andrew McCarthy, author of “The Grand Jihad: How Islam and the Left Sabotage America,” in National Review. According to McCarthy, a key memo obtained by the FBI outlines how the Muslim Brotherhood’s “American tentacles,” like CAIR, envision themselves as waging:

[A] kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.

However, the Muslim Brotherhood and its international affiliates aren’t like Al Qaeda (the Jihadist equivalent of Che Guevara) or ISIS (who operate more like Mao Zedong, both analogies courtesy of Dr. Sebastian Gorka). Rather, McCarthy explains, its vision of a “ground-up revolution” is one “in which the use of force plays a part but is just one aspect of a multi-faceted aggression arsenal.”

What’s one way to make this happen? Completely rid yourself of legitimate criticism. And if we’ve learned anything from the marriage debate that culminated in last year’s Obergefell decision, or even recent battles over Religious Freedom laws, the best way to do that is smear, smear, and smear. Obama Admin. Spends Christmas Helping Islamists Get Off Terror List

Muslim BillboardsBy Patrick Howley. The Obama administration spent Christmas week trying to get two Islamist organizations off a foreign country’s terror list.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Muslim American Society are both listed as Islamist organizations by the Islamist Money In Politics database, which tracks copious political spending by figures linked to the groups. The Muslim American Society was founded as an American-based Muslim Brotherhood front group.

CAIR and MAS representatives met with “senior U.S. government officials” just days before Christmas to discuss the groups’ inclusion on the United Arab Emirates’ official list of terrorist organizations.

Bachmann: Obama Has Embraced “Islamic Jihad” at Every Turn

By David McCabe. Outgoing Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) says President Obama has embraced the “agenda of Islamic jihad” at every turn.

“I have been very surprised, to answer your question, to see the president of the United States, at every turn, cut the legs off of our ally Israel, and in fact embrace and lift up the agenda of Islamic jihad,” she said in an interview released Wednesday with “Washington Watch,” a radio show produced by the socially conservative Family Research Council.

Bachmann criticized the president for writing to Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, to encourage a deal on Tehran’s nuclear program.

“This really is a spiritual battle that we’re dealing with,” she added. “And while the president continues to say that this is not about the religion of Islam, I beg to differ.” Read more from this story HERE.

CAIR: Remove ‘Islamist Extremism,’ ‘Jihadism’ From 9/11 Museum Video

Days before the National September 11 Memorial Museum opens in New York, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is stepping up its campaign to urge organizers to edit a video presentation on al-Qaeda, to remove terms such as “Islamist extremism” and “jihadism.”

An earlier CAIR initiative – a letter last month co-signed by several other Muslim and Arab-American organizations, complaining to museum directors about what they called “academically controversial terminology” – met with no success.

On Monday CAIR’s New York chapter began asking “all Americans” to lobby national and New York leaders on the issue.

A “click and send” letter made available by the chapter calls for the short video entitled “The Rise of Al-Qaeda” to be edited to remove “anti-Islamic terminology,” before the museum opens to the public next Wednesday.

The appeal is addressed to President Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, New York Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Charles Schumer, Mayor Bill de Blasio, and City Councilwoman Margaret Chin, who represents lower Manhattan.

Last night on The Kelly File, we told you about Brandeis University’s decision to revoke an honorary degree for Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a women’s rights advocate in the Muslim community.

Hirsi Ali, a Somali-born woman and United States citizen, was subjected to genital mutilation and forced to flee her marriage. She has endured death threats for speaking out against Islam. Recently, she executive produced and starred in a documentary called, “Honor Diaries.”

Last night, Megyn Kelly spoke to Hirsi Ali and also took on Ibrahim Hooper, from the Council on American-Islamic Relations. That group was behind the movement to push Brandeis to take back Ali’s honor.

During part two of the interview, above, Megyn questioned CAIR’s tactics for attacking some of its critics.

Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) has previously stated, “[CAIR] we know has ties to terrorism… prominent members of [CAIR’s] current leadership… also have intimate connections with Hamas.”

CAIR Discussing Establishment of Shariah Divorce System in Michigan

Photo Credit: WND A leader in a front group for the movement that aims to turn the U.S. into an Islamic state is among the Muslims in the Detroit area talking about establishing religious courts that would grant women a divorce under Islamic law, or Shariah.

About 15 Muslim leaders – including Dawud Walid, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations’ Michigan chapter – discussed the issue at a monthly gathering Sept. 25.

The discussion was prompted by a story in the Arab American News that described the difficulties that Muslim women experience when their husbands refuse to grant them a religious divorce, noted the blog Creeping Sharia.

The Arab American News article said many are forced to go “imam shopping” and travel across the U.S. to find an imam willing to grant them an Islamic divorce.

The publication commented that many Muslim women are denied a divorce, even when their husbands are physically abusive.
