Snowden Reporter Glenn Greenwald Featured at Radical Muslim Event

Photo Credit: WND The London Guardian journalist who presented Russian-exiled National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden to the world has fled to Brazil, but he is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at an annual fundraiser in Los Angeles for the local chapter of the radical Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Muslim Brotherhood front organization.

It would be Glenn Greenwald’s first scheduled appearance in the U.S., reports the Daily Caller, which cited an analyst who doubted U.S. authorities would prosecute the reporter if he enters the country.

Greenwald is the keynote for CAIR-LA’s “Faith in Freedom” dinner Nov. 16 in Anaheim, Calif.

He also spoke at the CAIR-NY awards dinner in May and last November addressed the CAIR-San Francisco Bay Area chapter.

He told the San Francisco group “there really is no organization with which I’d rather be spending my time, or with which I feel more at home than CAIR.”

Chris Christie Inducted into CAIR’s ‘Best List’ for Fighting ‘Islamophobia’

The Council on the American Islamic Relations (CAIR) excoriated many of its critics in their “Islamophobia” report, but the group also had a “Best List Inductees” which included New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

CAIR says the list was compiled as a way to recognize those who “deserve recognition for their outstanding contributions to pushing back against Islamophobic trends in 2011 and 2012.” The report says Christie is receiving the accolade primarily for his nomination of a Muslim judge and statements in the ensuing controversy:

Following Islamophobic criticism of his nomination of Sohail Mohammed as a New Jersey Superior Court judge, Christie pushed back. Commenting on the baseless fear some were spreading about Islamic religious principles Christie bluntly stated, “This Sharia law business is just crap. It’s just crazy, and I’m tired of dealing with the crazies.”…

CAIR Pushes ‘Hijab Friendly’ Policy in American Prisons

Photo Credit: Daily Caller The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is working to make American prisons more “hijab-friendly,” according to a report from Al Arabiya.

“I’m working on several pending cases in different states… and I’m in touch with an attorney for the Department of Justice’s Office of Civil Rights,” Nadhira al-Khalili, legal counsel for CAIR, told the Saudi-owned news outlet.

The goal for CAIR is to make the hijab a permissible, official staple of Muslim women’s attire, including for photos, in prisons nationwide.

Al Arabiya reports that Novi, Mich. has already agreed to allow Muslim women to cover their heads during detainment.

Video: O’Reilly Explodes on CAIR Executive Director – ‘I Don’t Want to Hear About What Islam Means to You’

Fox News host Bill O’Reilly on Tuesday clashed with Nihad Awad, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), during a segment focused the impact of radical Islamic terrorism around the world. CAIR was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial, the largest terrorism financing trial in U.S. history.

After reminding his guest that radical Islam has been identified as a motivating factor in the Boston bombing suspects’ decision to attack the Boston Marathon, O’Reilly asked Awad to explain why he is wrong to target radical Islamic groups in the aftermath of the tragedy.

Rather than providing a direct answer to O’Reilly’s question, Awad instead gave an account of his personal emotional state following the Boston bombings and argued many Muslims felt the same way he did.

O’Reilly attempted to get Awad back on topic, telling him “I don’t have time for a speech.”

“You have got to go back and forth with me, OK? You not admitting that radical Islam drives worldwide terrorism puts you in the category where you have no credibility because the facts are the facts. Ninety percent of worldwide terrorism is radical Islam, period,” O’Reilly added.

CAIR Chief Claims Muslims Discovered America First

Muslims discovered the Americas long before Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492, the head of a D.C.-based jihad-linked Islamic lobbying group told a Saudi TV station Dec. 27.

“There are historical accounts according to which the Muslims preceded Columbus, who is said to have discovered the U.S.,” claimed Nihad Awad, the co-founder of the Council on American Islamic Relations.

“Some documents and accounts indicate that Muslim seafarers were the first to reach the U.S., [so] the bottom line is that Islam played a part in the establishment and development of the U.S.,” Awad told the Saudi interviewer, in an interview in a New York studio.

CAIR did not respond to The Daily Caller’s request for an explanation of Awad’s comments, which were recorded by the Middle East Media Research Institute.

Awad’s group bills itself as a “civil rights” group, but five of its former employees have been jailed or deported for terror offenses, and FBI officials refuse to meet Awad because of his ties to jihadi groups, such as Hamas.

Radical US Muslim Group Applauds the Defeat of Republicans, Especially Allen West

In a press release, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) welcomed what it called “the rejection of Islamophobic candidates by voters nationwide.” This followed the re-election of President Barack Obama, a professing Christian, who has long been rumored to be a Muslim in secret. CAIR focused on the electoral defeat of Rep. Allen West (R), who the group quoted as saying that Islam is not a religion but is instead a “totalitarian theocratic political ideology” that is a “very vile and very vicious enemy,” was defeated by a narrow margin.

Also in Florida, State Representative Adam Hasner (R) was defeated in his bid for Congress. Hasner once co-hosted an event featuring Dutch anti-Islam politician Geert Wilders that was also sponsored by the person CAIR characterized as an “Anti-Muslim hate group leader” Pamela Geller – blogger who frequently writes about terrorism and the persecution of Christians in Muslim lands. CAIR criticized Hasner for blocking “Florida Muslim Capitol Day” in 2009.

CAIR also applauded the defeat of Florida man, Terry Kemple, who lost his campaign for the Hillsborough County School Board. The CAIR release stated, “Kemple’s main issue in the race was seeking to keep Muslim speakers out of local schools.”

In Illinois, Rep. Joe Walsh (R) was defeated in his re-election bid. CAIR claims that during the campaign this year, when a town hall meeting attendee told him that he was “looking for some godly men and women in the Senate, in the Congress, who will stand in the face of the danger of Islam,” Walsh supposedly “left the door open for suspicion of every Muslim living in Illinois” when he said that Islamism is more of a threat “now that it was right after 9/11” and “It’s here. It’s in Elk Grove. It’s in Addison. It’s in Elgin. It’s here.”

The Ca. Head of the Council for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Wants Blasphemy Laws in the US

Rashid Ahmad [the California head of CAIR] neither identifies nor condemns the “crazy people” responsible for the murder of Chris Stevens and three other Americans. And the killers were only “way out of line,” something one might say of a misbehaving child. The U.S. government says it “might” have been a planned attack by an al-Qaida affiliate, but Rashid Ahmad fails to say if he agrees. But he does hold forth on the “Innocence of Muslims” video.

“People feel extremely hurt and offended by the film,” Ahmad told the Bee. “But there’s a huge debate in Northern California over what should happen to the filmmaker.” Actually there isn’t.

Few here have seen the video and the default position is that it may be offensive but the U.S. government should take no action against the filmmaker. The huge debate here is over the push for even higher taxes in a state on the verge of bankruptcy.

“Some say there should absolutely not be any prohibition against free speech,” explained Ahmad, billed as someone who came to the United States from Pakistan in 1970 to study engineering at UC Davis.

“In France, Germany and other European nations, there are laws against hate speech,” Ahmad told the Bee. “Holocaust deniers and others who belittle Nazi crimes during World War II are subject to criminal penalties. Just like there are laws against hate crimes in the U.S., there should be laws against hate speech that leads to violence or criminal activities. Because of the film we’ve lost so many lives – the filmmaker has blood on his hands.”

Is ‘evidence’ of crimes erased before our eyes?

The legal complaint by a U.S.-based Islamic lobby group asking a federal judge to expunge all copies of a best-selling exposé that documents the group’s terrorist ties is an attempt to eliminate evidence that could lead to criminal prosecution, according to a lawyer defending a co-author of the book.

Daniel Horowitz, who represents “Muslim Mafia” co-author P. David Gaubatz and his son, Chris, believes the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, knows that the material is incriminating and wants it destroyed.

“So far, the Obama administration has refused to prosecute CAIR,” Horowitz said, “despite undeniable evidence that following 9/11 they sought donations for 9/11 victims and passed the money to the Hamas-based Holy Land Foundation.”

CAIR has insisted its designation by federal prosecutors as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Justice Department’s terror-finance case against the Richardson, Texas-based Holy Land Foundation is unjustified. But the group admitted in a legal brief in 2009 that it solicited donations in the wake of the 9/11 attacks for Holy Land Foundation, which was convicted of funneling more than $12 million to Hamas.

In May 2007, CAIR was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the scheme.
