Farmer Charged with Shooting Intruder… Floored by Unexpected Surprise in Courtroom

According to CTV News, a farmer from a rural area near Calgary fired a shotgun at intruders who were prowling on his property in February. It worked: The suspects fled, and one was later found with a non-life-threatening shotgun injury to his arm. . . .

Government officials want to make an example out of the farmer, but when he arrived at court Friday, he was faced with something neither he nor prosecutors likely expected: a crowd of residents who came to support the landowner and his right to protect his family . . .

“Why do the criminals have all the rights? It doesn’t seem fair to me,” explained one supporter. “They’re telling us that if we live in the country that we should get gates and lock them. We become prisoners on our own land because of criminals.”

In an increasingly litigious time, Americans — and Canadians, for that matter — must know what the law in their area says about the use of force. There are many misconceptions and myths about defense law, and the time to become educated is before a self defense situation arises.

We cannot comment on Canadian law, but many states in the U.S. stipulate that there must be an imminent threat of bodily harm or death for a firearm to be used in self defense. Though Maurice may have been morally right to defend his property from prowlers, the jury is still out — if you’ll pardon the expression — on whether he was legally justified. By The Daily Caller. Muslim-American radio host Dean Obeidallah said on MSNBC Monday that he hopes the perpetrator of a recent van attack in Toronto, Canada is not a Muslim because President Trump might politicize it.

Because we know what happens,” Obeidallah said. (Read more from “Radio Host: I Hope the Toronto Attacker Isn’t Muslim, Because Trump Might Politicize It” HERE)

What We Know About Alek Minassian, Alleged Driver in Deadly Toronto Van Attack

By CBC. Police have identified the suspect in a deadly van attack in Toronto as Alek Minassian, a 25-year-old man from Richmond Hill, Ont., a suburb north of the city . . .

A profile on social networking site LinkedIn identifies Minassian as a student at Seneca College in North York, the north Toronto neighbourhood where the attack took place.

Speculation surfaced Monday night around a Facebook post associated with the same name and the same photo as the one that appears on Minassian’s LinkedIn profile. CBC News has not been able to independently verify whether the Facebook post was, indeed, written by Minassian or created after that fact and intended to mislead.

The post referred to the “Supreme Gentleman Elliot Rodger.” Rodger was the 22-year-old California man responsible for a deadly rampage in Isla Vista, Calif., that left six people dead and a dozen more injured . . .

Saunders said Monday night that no gun was found on the male driver at the time of his arrest. He said Minassian was not previously known to Toronto police. (Read more from “What We Know About Alek Minassian, Alleged Driver in Deadly Toronto Van Attack” HERE)

Man Who Mercilessly Beat Autistic Man Shows up to Court Covered in Bruises

Parmvir Singh Chahil, caught on video allegedly punching and kicking an autistic man, showed up in court Monday bruised from beatings he took in jail, the Toronto Sun reports.

“He got his butt kicked inside [Maplehurst jail] over the weekend,” a Canada Corrections insider told the Sun. “Maplehurst inmates read the papers and watch TV, too.”

Chalil entered the courtroom in Ontario covered as much as possible to hide his body from reporters and cameras. He tried to keep his head down but could not hide the bruises and cuts on his face and his swollen right ear . . .

Three men, who are thought to be Chalil, Ronjot Singh Dhami and one other yet to be identified, allegedly committed an “unprovoked” attack on a man with autism at bus station in Mississauga, Canada. The victim was taking off a pair of roller skates when three men attacked him with kicks and punches that broke the victim’s nose, CP24 News reports.

Olympic Athlete Charged With Stealing Car

A Canadian athlete competing at the Winter Olympics has been charged with stealing a car in the early hours of Saturday morning, South Korean police said.

A police official in charge of international crime at Gangwon Provincial Police Agency said the athlete, his wife and manager had gotten into an unlocked car which had been left unoccupied with the engine running in Pyeongchang.

The official said the manager then drove off with the car before it was stopped by police. The manager has additionally been charged with drunk driving.

Once the investigation is complete the results would be sent to the prosecution, the official said, adding that unless the alleged offence was deemed a serious crime, they would be able to leave the country after paying a fine.

At a news conference on Saturday, Canadian Olympic Committee CEO Chris Overholt said they were aware of the situation but declined to confirm the identities of the three. (Read more from “Olympic Athlete Charged With Stealing Car” HERE)

Justin Trudeau Makes a Fool of Himself Again, Insults Entire Nation of India With Condescending, Ethnic Attire

Fresh off lecturing a young woman to say “peoplekind” instead of “mankind,” Canada’s pretty boy Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stepped in it again, this time insulting the entire nation of India during his boondoggle of an eight-day family workcation.

Twitter lit into Trudeau, 46, this week, for wearing over-the-top, traditional Indian attire that appeared at once desperate and condescending. Sherwanis; kurta shirts; an awkward outfit straight out of central casting for a Bollywood bridegroom.

“It’s a kind of reverse colonialism to want to mimic the ‘native’. Doing a kurta number as a salute to a culture is one thing, but Justin Trudeau’s display of trousseau like repertoire of multi-coloured kurtas has begun to grate,” wrote Indian political consultant Dilip Cherian.

“Offending garments include Trudeau’s long, multicolored sherwanis, usually worn on special occasions such as weddings or in Bollywood movies,” wrote The Washington Post’s New Delhi correspondent, Vidhi Doshi. “Trudeau wore a sparkling gold one to a meeting with Bollywood’s top brass while the film stars wore muted black suits. Add to that the Canadian first family’s posey, soap-opera style namastes, and it’s enough to keep social media here buzzing with memes and jokes.” (Read more from “Justin Trudeau Makes a Fool of Himself Again, Insults Entire Nation of India With Condescending, Ethnic Attire” HERE)

Watch: Justin Trudeau Scolds Young Woman: We Say ‘Peoplekind,’ Not ‘Mankind’

You have to see this to believe it.

Canada’s head SJW, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, has outdone himself in his Orwellian crusade to purge gender differences from the English language.

At a public town hall in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Trudeau interrupted a young woman to paternalistically lecture her after she dared to use the politically incorrect word “mankind.”

“We like to say peoplekind,” Trudeau interrupted, “not necessarily mankind. It’s more inclusive.”

According to the website Squawker, the young woman was from the World Mission Society Church of God, “a restorationist sect of Christianity established in South Korea in the late 20th century.” She wanted Trudeau to take a look at a Canadian law involving the ability of charitable religious organizations to freely volunteer. Canadian Government Claims Santa Is Relocating to the South Pole for Absurd Reason

A Canadian government website claims Santa Claus signed an international agreement to relocate his workshop to the South Pole to escape the effects of man-made global warming in the Arctic.

The website for Policy Horizons Canada, a government website, notes that due to “rapidly melting Arctic ice and growing human operations in the North, Santa Claus has signed an agreement with the International community to relocate his village next year to operate in an exclusive zone in the South Pole.”

Policy Horizons was created to advise government officials on emerging public policy issues.

The group put out a series of Christmas-themed blog posts that tie into emerging liberal policy concerns.

Horizons also put out blog posts on Santa relying on a self-flying sleigh, investing in Bitcoin and even using 3D printing technology to make toys.

The latest blog post, however, is meant to focus on climate refugees.

“Santa’s relocation agreement marks the first time that the international community agrees on a common legal definition of climate change that includes refugees as corporations, as well as individuals,” reads the Horizons website.

“This deal is expected to lead to the deployment of a global climate change refugee visa system that in the near future could help to more easily relocate individuals and corporations facing the impacts of climate change,” the website continues.

Politicians and environmentalists have been claiming for years that man-made global warming will increase the number of peoples displaced by extreme weather events and violent conflicts.

A recent study even claimed temperature changes drove increased applications for asylum in Europe.

A June study predicted 2 billion “climate change refugees” by the end of the century if nothing is done to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Most famously, the United Nations Environment Program predicted there would be 50 million “climate refugees” by 2010.

When that didn’t come to pass, the U.N. quietly removed a web page containing the information, and pushed the prediction to 2020. (For more from the author of “Canadian Government Claims Santa Is Relocating to the South Pole for Absurd Reason” please click HERE)

Christian Father Loses Appeal to Shield Kids From LGBT Agenda in Public School

A Christian father has lost his appeal in a landmark parental rights case that pitted him against his public school board, the province of Ontario, and the elementary teachers’ union for his attempts to protect his children from possible LGBTQ indoctrination at school.

In a decision released Wednesday, the Ontario Court of Appeal threw out Steve Tourloukis’s case, citing lack of evidence that the school board actually interfered with his ability to bring up his son and daughter in his Greek Orthodox faith.

Tourloukis sued the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board five years ago after it refused his request for advance notice of how and when his children would be taught about sensitive topics, notably homosexuality, abortion, and gender identity, so he could pull them from class if necessary.

The Hamilton dentist made the request in 2010 when his six-year-old son was in Grade 1, his 4-year-old daughter in junior kindergarten, and the board implementing its equity and inclusivity policy as directed by the 2009 Equity and Inclusive Education Strategy . . .

Tourloukis’s lawyer Albertos Polizogopoulos argued June 2016 the board violated his client’s Charter rights by preventing him from being able to shield his children if need be from what his faith considers “false teachings.” (Read more from “Christian Father Loses Appeal to Shield Kids From LGBT Agenda in Public School” HERE)
