CNN Cuts Feed When WikiLeaks Mentioned

During an appearance on CNN this morning, Congressman Chris Collins’ satellite feed was cut as soon as he began talking about Wikileaks.

Host Chris Cuomo asked Collins what he thought Trump could do in tonight’s debate to prove he was fit for office. However, the Congressman went off script.

“Two thirds of the public know that Hillary Clinton’s a liar, she can’t be trusted and now the two faces of Hillary are coming out – the fact through Wikileaks she says one thing and….”

The feed is then immediately cut.

Cuomo continued the discussion with pro-Hillary Congressman Hakeem Jeffries for a full two and a half minutes before Collins returned. Cuomo was sure to ask Collins a question that would steer him away from the subject of Wikileaks. Collins was only then allowed to speak for a brief time before the segment ended. CNN, Now the Censoring News Network

For years now, CNN has been dubbed the Clinton News Network (a moniker disturbingly close to the truth) and even the Communist News Network (hyperbole, yes). But last week, CNN emerged as the Censoring News Network.

There are certainly some fine reporters at CNN who strive to be balanced and fair in their work, and when compared to Fox and MSNBC, there have been times when CNN appears to be less biased than their cable competitors. But as the presidential campaigns wear on, CNN’s pro-Hillary, anti-Trump reporting is becoming even more glaring, to the point of blatant censorship.

As an early endorser of Ted Cruz, I noticed CNN’s fairly obvious disdain for him during the Republican primaries, as a Trump or Hillary victory in one state would be described as very important or highly significant, while an even bigger Cruz victory in an equally important state would be reported flatly and without adjectives, as in, “Senator Cruz wins in Utah.”

But these were minor infractions and hardly amounted to censorship. Not even close.

Over at Fox, it has been impossible to miss the degree to which Sean Hannity and others have thrown themselves in with Trump, to the point that some shows resemble political infomercials rather than journalistic programming.

But again, this too does not amount to censorship.

But it is totally different when images are altered and words removed so as to withhold important information or give misleading impressions to the viewing audience. CNN was guilty of this twice in two days last week.

Blurring the Truth

On August 31, CNN’s Headline News (HLN) broadcast a report about Steven Eckel, a 53-year-old man who came to the rescue of a four-month-old girl whom he spotted left in a hot car in New Jersey. He smashed the window with a sledgehammer, probably saving the little girl’s life.

What could there be to censor?

Well this hero, who was being hailed for his actions by the media, was actually – hold your breath now – a supporter of Donald Trump. Worse still, he was wearing a t-shirt that said, “Trump 2016.”

How could a man like that do anything good and compassionate and praiseworthy? And how could CNN’s HLN feature a glowing report that made a Trump supporter look good?

When the report first aired on the 31st, the Trump 2016 logo was clearly seen.

“But,” the Daily Mail reports, “when it was shown again later the same day, producers decided to censor the front of his t-shirt,” blurring the words so they could not be seen.

How utterly outrageous.

A spokesman for HLN stated that the blurring was a mistake, explaining, “We blurred the logo and shouldn’t have; it was done in error.”

The obvious question is whose idea was it to blur the image?

Really now, what could possibly motivate someone to do such a thing other than extreme anti-Trump (and/or pro-Hillary) bias? On what grounds could anyone working in the HLN newsroom think that the “Trump 2016” logo should be obscured? Was it profane? Did it contain an offensive graphic? Was it giving out private information? No, no, and no.

And does any rational person think that if the hero had been wearing a “Hillary 2016” t-shirt that the pro-Hillary logo would have been blurred?

Crooked Reporting

Two days before that, on August 29th, CNN came under fire for omitting Trump’s trademark description of Hillary as “Crooked” when posting one of his tweets.

What they posted for their viewers was the actual image of a Trump tweet reading, “I think that both candidates, Hillary and myself, should release detailed medical records. I have no problem in doing so! Hillary?”

Again, the viewers saw what appeared to be an image of Trump’s tweet, which was then read on the air by the CNN anchor, Jim Sciutto. The actual tweet, however, in keeping with Trump’s custom, contained the “Crooked Hillary” moniker.

So, CNN not only had its host read the tweet sans the word “Crooked,” but they put an image on their screen sans “Crooked,” giving the misleading impression to the casual viewer that this was a copy of the tweet.

What kind of deceptive reporting is this? Is it anything less than censorship?

Personally, I’m not a fan of the “Crooked” epithet (although sadly, Mrs. Clinton seems to be knee-deep in corruption and lies), and if the CNN reporter chose to use a certain intonation to reflect his displeasure with it, that would be understandable.

But to alter the text, presumably because CNN deemed it offensive, and then to post a graphic with that altered text as if it were the original, is to engage in outright journalistic deception. This sounds like it could be taken right out of the pages of the old Communist Party playbook. North Korea would also be proud of reporting like this.

It is true that the following day, CNN reporters read the entire tweet, unedited, but that does not remove the offensive nature of what was done the day before.

So, from scrubbing a word to blurring a slogan, one being anti-Hillary and the other being pro-Trump, CNN is becoming the Censoring News Network.

To all people of influence and responsibility at CNN, I urge you to step higher, to report the news without censorship, and to do your best to become known for unbiased reporting. America desperately needs at least one station that will give it an honest shot. (For more from the author of “CNN, Now the Censoring News Network” please click HERE)

Former SEAL Riles CNN Host by Pointing out How to Stop Mass Shootings

During a discussion hosted by Alisyn Camerota on CNN’s New Day Monday, political commentator Bob Beckel weighed in on gun control measures being pushed in the wake of the terrorist attack at the Pulse night club in Orlando, Fla., in which Omar Mateen killed 49 people.

“If you can’t pass one thing, after what happened in Orlando on terrorists not getting guns, then I don’t think you’ll ever get gun control laws,” reflecting on gun control bills in the House and Senate on Monday. The measures aren’t expected to pass according to Beckel.

David Gregory, also a CNN analyst, called the bills before Congress “common sense” but admitted he’s “similarly pessimistic” the bills will pass.

Former Navy Seal Carl Higbie was asked by Camerota to share his thoughts on gun control.

“I think the fact is that if you had security guards at that club that were carrying firearms, bullets going in the other direction always has stopped criminals from being armed and carrying out further acts of violence,” he said.

Seemingly agitated, the CNN anchor noted that the club did have one armed guard. “Carl, Just answer that. There was an armed security guard there and this time it didn’t stop the gunman.”

Higbie countered that the problem isn’t guns, it’s radical Islamic terrorism. “So let’s look at the fact here that they’re trying to blame guns for this whole thing,” he said. “You don’t blame Boeing for the planes hitting the towers [on 9/11]. You don’t blame spoons for people getting fat. … Let’s stop blaming guns and let’s start blaming the ideology.”

The former Navy Seal concluded the FBI should clarify what criteria must be met before someone is placed on the terrorist watch list before any American be placed on such a list, and before any decision banning those individuals from obtaining a firearm is made. He went further saying, “If you’re on a terrorist watch list, you should be in jail. I don’t think you should be on a list, you should be in jail.” (For more from the author of “Former SEAL Riles CNN Host by Pointing out How to Stop Mass Shootings” please click HERE)

Watch: CNN Host’s Observation About Christians, Muslims and Killing in the Name of Religion Might Surprise You

CNN host Chris Cuomo did some defending of Muslims as a whole after last May’s “Draw Muhammad” contest in Garland, Texas, where two armed Islamic militants apparently targeting the event were gunned down by law enforcement . . .

But lately Cuomo seems to have struck a different tone.

This week he relentlessly grilled lawyers for the family of the suspected killers in the San Bernardino mass shooting and grew annoyed at their apparent doubt that the deceased Muslim husband and wife had anything to do with the massacre.

And in a different CNN segment regarding San Bernardino, Cuomo spoke remotely to fellow anchors Alisyn Camerota and Michaela Pereira about an issue news anchors don’t generally bring up.

Ex-CNN Anchor Survives Wild Motel Shootout

By Shawn Cohen. A road trip down old Route 66 led to a Wild West-style motel shootout for a pioneering CNN anchor and her former-soldier hubby.

Lynne Russell — the first woman to ever solo-anchor a primetime network news show — and Chuck de Caro, 65, had stopped at a Motel 6 for the night in Albuquerque when an intruder slipped into their room as Russell went to grab something from the car around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

“I opened the door and he materialized out of nowhere; he was inside,” she told The Post. “And he pushed me into the room and onto the bed and closed the door.”

De Caro, who was in the shower, emerged completely naked and tried talking to the gunman, who was demanding the couple fork over their money and valuables.

“We tried to calm the man, ask him not to point the gun because we really couldn’t think what we could give him,” Russell said. “It felt to me he was used to doing this, that whatever happened wouldn’t bother him.” (Read more from “Ex-CNN Anchor Survives Wild Motel Shootout” HERE)

Former CNNers Survive New Mexico Motel Gunfight

Here’s how CNN belatedly described the incident:

The gunman wanted money and other valuables, [the ex-CNN anchor] said.

She told the gunman she would look in her purse to see what they had. She reached down and put one of the two handguns the couple had in a side table into the purse. She gave the handbag to her husband.

Russell said the guns were legal, something police are still investigating.

The man’s behavior was increasingly erratic, Russell said. He told them to get a briefcase he saw.

The couple explained there was nothing of value in the bag, but the man lunged at them and “went around the bed and then opened fire on Chuck. There was a firefight inside the room.”

De Caro was shot once in the leg and twice in the abdomen.

He fired all the rounds in the first handgun then picked up the other and shot the man. The man, who police identified in a news release as the “offender in the altercation,” was found in the parking lot. He died at a hospital, CNN affiliate KOAT reported.

CNN Host Takes Shocking Stand Against Left – Here’s How Liberals Responded

Don Lemon, the often left-leaning host of CNN Tonight, offered some introspective thoughts about modern liberalism in a recent appearance on Black America Web. He began by offering a short test allowing listeners to determine if they are too politically correct.

“Do you allow room in your space for those who disagree with you?” he asked. “Do you ever call your coworkers or someone you don’t even know, someone you overhear talking, or even the person on the radio, the person on the TV – do you ever call them stupid because you disagree with them or because they don’t hold your same opinion about an issue?”

If the answer to any of those questions is yes, he advised, “then you might be too politically correct for your own good – for society’s good.”

Lemon went on to cite the recent remarks of high-profile comedians – a profession he said is populated by “the most outspoken people on the planet” – regarding the insurmountable level of political correctness on American college campuses.

“Political correctness has become dangerous,” he warned. “We have to stop looking for reasons to be offended. We have to allow people leeway to make mistakes in conversations without calling them racists, bigots, stupid, dumb, sellouts or whatever your word choice may be – on and on” . . .

Social media criticism of his remarks soon followed, fulfilling one Twitter user’s prophesy:

CNN Covers up Government Plan to Put Ebola Patients in U.S. Hotels

The Ebola outbreak in West Africa has long since disappeared from the radars of the world’s news media, with coverage falling off dramatically from its peak last year.

That is especially true in the United States, but that coverage could soon change if a policy being pursued by the federal government’s premier health agency backfires. And as of right now, one mainstream news channel – CNN – may actually be covering up some important details.

According to The Organic Prepper web site, several American healthcare workers who were either exposed or “potentially” exposed to the Ebola virus have been brought back to the United States for treatment. One who was positively diagnosed with the disease was taken to the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.

But what about the others who were “potentially exposed?” The Organic Prepper’s Daisy Luther notes that CNN initially ran a story claiming that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) was in charge of a plan to house the potentially infected in hotels, not hospitals. Desperate for Ratings, CNN Hires Anti-Christian Muslim TV Host [+video]

In an effort to bring CNN back from the brink of failing ratings, the cable network has announced the debut of several new shows, including one hosted by religious writer Reza Aslan and another by comedian W. Kamau Bell.

Reza Aslan is to host a show with the working title “Believer.” In a press release, CNN states that “Aslan will immerse himself into one of the world’s most fascinating faith-based groups to experience life as a true believer.”

Aslan will explore worship, rituals, and “unusual rites of passage” of various religions . . .

Aslan, for one, has a long history of attacking Christians and Christianity. Late last year, for instance, he claimed that the Bible was full of “historical errors,” despite that he is not a historian or a biblical scholar.

But even as he has made a career of attacking Christians, Aslan does have support for one religion. As comedian Bill Maher has increased his verbal assault on radical Islam, Aslan has come to Islam’s support and said that Maher is engaging in “frank bigotry.” (Read more from “CNN Adds Anti-Christian Muslim TV Host to Cable Line Up” HERE)

Predictable CNN: Tea Party Could Destroy GOP

Screen Shot 2014-12-09 at 11.39.33 PMOn Sunday, CNN’s Inside Politics spent several minutes hyping the supposed headache Tea Partiers could give GOP leadership despite the Republican Party winning their 54th Senate seat following Saturday’s runoff in Louisiana.

During the discussion, Robert Costa of The Washington Post insisted that Senator Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is trying “to govern responsibly and he wants to set the party up for major gains in ’16. And that started in 2014 by pushing back the Tea Party and it starts now by making sure that all the passions and eagerness in the House don’t overtake the party.”

The segment began with host John King arguing that despite the GOP controlling both houses of Congress “gas prices are down. Friday’s job numbers were robust. The president’s executive actions on immigration are stoking the Republican civil war and has promised now to take steps to narrow the trust deficit between law enforcement and African Americans offers a chance to be, well, presidential.”

For the next several minutes, the panel discussed possible legislative deals that Congress and President Obama could make in 2015 before they turned to how the Tea Party will factor into any future negotiations.

CNN President Jeff Zucker: ‘We’re Not Going To Be Shamed’ Into Covering Benghazi

Photo Credit: Daily Caller CNN President Jeff Zucker declared his network would “not going to be shamed” into covering Benghazi and other stories without “real news value” at an awards dinner Monday.

Capital New York reports that Zucker explained CNN’s post-plane plans during an interview at the Deadline Club’s annual dinner on Monday night.

“I don’t think there’s any question about our commitment to breaking news, as evidenced by all the questions about the plane,” Zucker told The New York Times’ Bill Carter.

“So we’re still there whenever that happens,” he continued, “but we’re going to supplement that with some different kind of storytelling.”

What kind of stories? “Climate change is one of those stories that deserves more attention, that we all talk about,” he explained — though he lamented the fact that “when we do do those stories, there does tend to be a tremendous amount of lack of interest on the audience’s part.”
