Court Orders Woman To Remove Rock With Confederate Flag – or Lose Child

An intermediate appellate court in New York state has ordered a woman to get rid of a rock in her garden because it has a Confederate flag painted on it – or possibly lose her child.

The extreme order came from Judges Stan Pritzker, John Egan Jr., Sharon Aarons, Molly Reynolds Fitzgerald and John Colangelo and was in a custody ruling.

The parents are unmarried and have a daughter born in 2014 that is of mixed race. The ruling was an update in the custody arrangements, which provide for joint legal and physical custody. . .

“Given that the child is of mixed race, it would seem apparent that the presence of the flag is not in the child’s best interests, as the mother must encourage and teach the child to embrace her mixed race identity, rather than thrust her into a world that only makes sense through the tortured lens of cognitive dissonance,” they said.

“Further, and viewed pragmatically, the presence of the confederate flag is a symbol inflaming the already strained relationship between the parties. As such, while recognizing that the First Amendment protects the mother’s right to display the flag, if it is not removed by June 1, 2021, its continued presence shall constitute a change in circumstances and family court shall factor this into any future best interests analysis.” (Read more from “Court Orders Woman To Remove Rock With Confederate Flag – or Lose Child” HERE)

Senate Committee Votes to Require Renaming of Military Bases Named After Confederates

The Republican-led Senate Armed Services Committee has voted to require the Pentagon to rename military bases named after Confederate officers, amid growing calls to do so in the wake of the death of George Floyd last month.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D) tweeted Tuesday, “As a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, I filed an amendment to the annual defense bill last week to rename all bases named for Confederate generals. It’s long past time to end the tribute to white supremacy on our military installations.”

The senator linked to an op-ed by retired Army Gen. David Petraeus, who argued that Army installations bearing the names of such rebel “traitors” should be renamed. . .

The president tweeted Tuesday, “It has been suggested that we should rename as many as 10 of our Legendary Military Bases, such as Fort Bragg in North Carolina, Fort Hood in Texas, Fort Benning in Georgia, etc. These Monumental and very Powerful Bases have become part of a Great American Heritage, and a history of Winning, Victory, and Freedom. The United States of America trained and deployed our HEROES on these Hallowed Grounds, and won two World Wars. Therefore, my Administration will not even consider the renaming of these Magnificent and Fabled Military Installations.”

Teacher Allegedly Displays Graphic Saying Confederate Flag Means ‘You Intend to Marry Your Sister’ (VIDEO)

A Georgia teacher allegedly showed a Powerpoint image of a Confederate flag to the teacher’s classroom accompanied by a caption reading, “A sticker you put on the back of your pickup truck to announce that you intend to marry your sister. Think of it like a white trash ‘Save the Date’ card.” . . .

The incident allegedly occurred at Hephzibah High School, where the daughter of Melissa Fuller was in the teacher’s class. Melissa Fuller told WRDW, “She found it offensive, so she sent it to me and asked me what I thought.” Fuller posted the story on Facebook. Fuller stated, “A lot of [it] is that it’s not morally correct. It’s unethical. It’s just something you don’t want to discuss today in today’s world and especially inside of a classroom.” She added, “Why was that used? With it being such a rough area, why would you put that out there to start a class discussion that could have turned very ugly?”

Fuller said her daughter had once worn a Confederate flag belt buckle to school, then removed it after she was told it was inappropriate, but still received an in-house suspension. She asked, “If she can’t wear that belt buckle, then why is it appropriate to make an assignment out of it?” . . .

WRDW reported that the district released the following statement: “The Richmond County School System is committed to creating a diverse, equitable learning environment for all students. The language used in the example was unacceptable and has no place in our classrooms.”

Watch: 9th Grader Attacked by Numerous Classmates for Confederate Flag Shirt

On Friday, numerous Kenwood High School students in Baltimore, Maryland physically attacked a fellow classmate for wearing a shirt with a Confederate flag on it, students say. A video of the apparent brawl, wherein multiple students are seen assaulting a classmate as a teacher unsuccessfully tries to break up the mayhem, has since made the rounds on social media.

According to witnesses in the school, the male student was brutally attacked while sitting in a ninth grade classroom solely for wearing the shirt. . .

“He was minding his business, honestly,” said Tra’shaw Holmes, another student. “They had no right touching him.” . . .

Another parent from the Kenwood posted a photo on Facebook of the student who was attacked. “My 10th grader sent me this picture! I would like to know what happened to dress code and school rules??” she captioned the photo. “Why would someone be allowed to wear this to school and not be told to change it? Just horrible.”

“The people on this thread that are saying the kid deserved it based on his clothing choice are no better than saying a girl in a short skirt is asking to be raped or a man with an expensive watch deserves to be robbed,” wrote Amy Strawser. “There is absolutely no excuse for this level of violence on anyone, much less a child.”

High School Suspends Students Who Have Confederate Flags on Cars

By The Daily Wire. A high school in North Carolina suspended several students last week after they allegedly refused to take down Confederate flags on their vehicles.

Burns High School Principal Mickey Morehead claims that the students were suspended for insubordination after they were asked to remove the flags, the Shelby Star reported.

“They were asked to remove the flags, and they didn’t,” Morehead said. The school released the following statement:

Any conduct that would cause a disruption in our educational environment may be subject to discipline via the CCS Code of Conduct. Please understand that an immediate suspension may very well likely not be the consequence of a matter such as the one in question.

Cops Stood by While Leftist Mob Toppled Civil War Statue

On Monday evening, a conglomerate of far-left groups brought down and destroyed a Confederate statue in Durham, North Carolina, and police have pledged to find those accountable for the act of vandalism.

Gathered outside the Durham County courthouse on Main Street, the leftists successfully brought down a monument to “The Confederate States of America.” The destroyed statue did not represent one particular individual, but a private soldier who fought for the South during the war.

After bringing down the statue, several leftist agitators took turns kicking the lifeless monument in acts of mob jubilation.

The act followed clashes in Charlottesville, Virginia, this past weekend between white supremacists and leftist extremists. The violence escalated when a man drove his vehicle into a crowd of protesters, killing one and injuring dozens.

The vandals in Durham included a communist group called the Workers World Party (WWP). Since its founding in 1958, the group has supported genocidal dictators such as China’s Mao Tse-Tung and the Soviet despots who took millions of innocent lives.

The video seems confusing, given the lack of police intervention to stop the leftists from destroying property in broad daylight.

Tuesday morning, the Durham County Sheriff’s Office, which is in charge of protecting the site, released a statement announcing that it is seeking charges against those who toppled the statue.

The Durham cops took video of the event Monday, but decided not to intervene, citing “the potential risk of injury to the public and officers should deputies attempt to control the crowd.”

“With the help of video captured at the scene, my investigators are working to identify those responsible for the removal and vandalism of the statue,” said Durham County Sheriff Mike Andrews.

The renewed debate over Civil War symbols has led to groups and individuals pushing for the wholesale removal of all Confederate statues. So far, officials in Baltimore, Maryland; Lexington, Kentucky; Jacksonville, Florida; and Memphis, Tenessee, have capitulated to mob demands, pledging to plan the removal of Confederate symbols. After Banning Confederate Flags, Amazon Decided to Sell This Shocking Item

635707604186072305-confederate-flag-stockA nationwide law enforcement coalition joined numerous social media activists this week in denouncing Amazon’s policy of selling anti-police merchandise. After stripping its virtual shelves of all items bearing Confederate markings following a fatal shooting in South Carolina, Amazon has come under fire for not similarly restricting access to products that promote hate or violence against cops.

The item that apparently sparked much of the backlash was a black T-shirt bearing the unedited phrase “F–k the Police” and simulated blood splatter.

“Social media has become a major source of propaganda for the anti-law enforcement movement,” wrote Michael Bouchard, president emeritus of the Major County Sheriff’s Association.

After criticizing Facebook for allowing groups with anti-police messages, he lamented the fact that Amazon sells items “depicting the assassination of law enforcement officials” even as police deaths are occurring at a rate of roughly 10 per month.

“The MCSA calls upon Facebook and Amazon to support the men and women who risk their lives everyday [sic] for the safety of their communities,” he concluded. (Read more from “After Banning Confederate Flags, Amazon Decided to Sell This Shocking Item” HERE)

Watch: Dangerous New Challenge – Ripping Down Confederate Flags Sure to Get People Shot

In a social media movement almost guaranteed to provoke violence, vandals pretending to make a point are recording themselves ripping down Confederate flags on private property.

And posting it for the world to see.

In the age of smart phones, a few videos have surfaced on social media, complete with the hashtag #NoFlaggingChallenge, with the perpetrators being celebrated as heroes by fellow zealots.

BizPac Review covered one such incident last week, where a young black man is seen pulling a flag from the back of a semi in slow-moving traffic.

While some are encouraging the behavior, others are pointing out that it is a real good way to get yourself shot. (Read more from “Watch: Dangerous New Challenge – Ripping Down Confederate Flags Sure to Get People Shot” HERE)

South Carolina House Approves Removal of Confederate Flag

By Fox News. The South Carolina House approved taking down the Confederate flag from Capitol grounds early Thursday, a stunning reversal in a state that was the first to leave the Union in 1860 and raised the flag again at its Statehouse more than 50 years ago to protest the civil rights movement.

The move came after more than 13 hours of contentious debate, weeks after the deadly shootings of nine black church members, including a state senator, at a Bible study in Charleston. The House approved the Senate bill 93-27, and still has one more vote than appeared to be perfunctory since they had met two-thirds approval.

It is possible the flag could come down Thursday or Friday, but the exact timing is unknown.

The bill is set to go to Republican Gov. Nikki Haley, who supports it.

“Today, as the Senate did before them, the House of Representatives has served the state of South Carolina and her people with great dignity,” Haley said in a statement early Thursday. “I’m grateful for their service and their compassion. It is a new day in South Carolina, a day were can all be proud of, a day that truly brings us all together as we continue to heal, as one people and one state.” (Read more from “South Carolina House Approves Removal of Confederate Flag” HERE)

Disney World Removes Confederate Flag From Epcot Display

By Sandra Pedicini. Walt Disney World has joined the list of businesses and governments distancing themselves from the Confederate flag.

The resort has removed a version of the Confederate banner from a flag display in Epcot’s American Adventure. Disney acknowledged it took down the flag recently but would not comment further.

The banner, which was among more than 40 displayed from throughout America’s history, was the third flag of the Confederacy. The familiar “Southern Cross” symbol does not take up the entire banner as it does in the Confederate battle flag. Instead the blue cross with white stars on a red background is displayed in the upper-left-hand corner, bordered by a field of white with a thick, red stripe at the other end.

Sheri Labowski, a Connecticut tourist relaxing outside the American Adventure on Wednesday, said she agreed with the flag’s removal.

“I think in this day and age we shouldn’t be promoting a part of our history we’re not proud of,” she said. (Read more from this story HERE)

Poll: Most Don’t Think Confederate Flag Racist

By Jesse Byrnes. Most Americans continue to think of the Confederate flag as emblematic of Southern pride and not inherently racist, according to a new Gallup poll, though views are divided along party lines.

Some 54 percent of Americans say the flag represents not racism but Southern heritage, but Democratic support for the Confederate battle banner has dropped precipitously, according to the survey.

About a third of Democrats, 32 percent, view the flag as symbolic of Southern pride, almost half of the 61 percent who held that view when surveyed in 1992.

Meanwhile, views among Republicans have remained relatively consistent, ticking upward 3 points to 78 percent since 1992, when a full three-quarters of Republicans viewed the flag as a Southern symbol. (Read more from this story HERE)

Confederate Flags Fly High as Daytona Fans DEFY ‘Ban’

Amid all the hoopla over NASCAR requesting fans not to display the Confederate flag at its races, it was easy to spot the flags at Sunday’s Coke Zero 400 race at Daytona International Speedway.

Easier than finding a souvenir shop, restroom or beer stand, according to The Associated Press, which reported that dozens of flags could be seen throughout the infield . . .

”They’d have to come and get it,” said Steven Rebenstorf, who displayed the Confederate flag atop his tent canopy inside the racetrack.

NASCAR had asked fans not to fly the now-controversial banner, and even offered to exchange Confederate flags for American flags at Sunday’s race, but The AP reported that there were few takers . . .

A quick scan of social media showed the Stars and Bars was indeed easy to spot in Daytona over the Fourth of July weekend, and that story turned out to be secondary to NASCAR’s most popular driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr., winning the Coke Zero 400 amid a spectacular last lap crash.
