Lockdown Ads: Leaving Home Might Make You a Murderer (VIDEO); Lawyer Arrested for Allegedly Threatening Governor Over Lockdown

By The Federalist. Two ghoulish ads out of Oregon’s “Stay Home Save Lives” campaign aim to keep Oregonians compliant with Gov. Kate Brown’s coronavirus lockdown through falsehood, fear, and guilt.

A 60-second video titled “Accidental” has garnered more than 2.8 million views on YouTube, not including when it plays as an ad before other videos. By the alarming tone it strikes with its block-lettered assumptions overlaying somber black and white pictures, you’d think Oregon’s health authorities were begging citizens with a hankering for human flesh not to chew their neighbors. It opens with a question we apparently all should be asking ourselves daily: “Did you accidentally kill someone today?”

“You’re already extremely contagious” before COVID-19 symptoms manifest, it states, before claiming that every infected person will infect three more people, contributing to an exponential growth curve and leaving hospitals with more patients than they can treat. Lest the brain-munching zombies of Oregon forget the crucial question put to them 45 seconds ago, the pandemic iteration of “Have you stopped beating your wife yet?” soon follows: Do you want to kill someone today?

“Don’t accidentally kill someone,” it warns, as if reminding us not to stick our hands in a wood chipper. “Stay home. Save lives.”

Lawyer Arrested for Allegedly Threatening Kentucky Governor Over Lockdown

By New York Post. A Louisville lawyer was arrested after allegedly threatening the life of Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear while criticizing the state’s coronavirus quarantine measures.

James Troutman, 53, faces a misdemeanor charge of third-degree terroristic threatening over comments he made against the governor on Facebook under the account of “Greg Troutman,” which police traced back to the lawyer, according to the local outlet WDRB.

“Maybe some should ask Beshear in a press conference about his thoughts on William Goebel. For those of you who don’t know the history…it’s a good read…” Troutman posted on the site on April 15.

Goebel was Kentucky’s 34th governor who was fatally shot in an assassination a day before he was sworn into office in 1900. . .

Police arrested Troutman Tuesday. While questioning him, cops said Troutman offered a detailed history of Goebel’s assassination and expressed an intent to commit a crime “likely to result in death or serious physical injury to the Kentucky governor,” the outlet reported. New Data Shows First U.S. Coronavirus Death Earlier Than Thought; U.S. Officials Prepare for ‘Two Viruses’ Next Fall

By Axios. Santa Clara County Public Health in California announced Tuesday that autopsy results found a patient who died on Feb. 6 had the novel coronavirus.

Why it matters: The first known death from COVID-19 in the U.S. was declared on Feb. 29 to be a patient in Washington state. A second person who died in Santa Clara County on Feb. 17 was also found to have the virus.

Santa Clara County executive Jeff Smith said the origins of the cases, and another on March 6, were “believed to be within the community,” suggesting transmission in the area occurred much earlier than previously thought, according to the Mercury News.

U.S. Officials Prepare for ‘Two Viruses’ Next Fall: Coronavirus and the Flu

By CNBC. U.S. officials are preparing to battle two bad viruses circulating at the same time as the coronavirus outbreak runs into flu season next fall and winter.

The Covid-19 outbreak in the U.S. hit just as the flu season was ending this year, Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said at a White House press briefing Wednesday. But they won’t have that benefit of using the country’s flu surveillance system to track the Covid-19 pandemic when the next flu season hits, he said.

“Next fall and winter, we’re going to have two viruses circulating and we’re going to have to distinguish between which is flu and which is the coronavirus,” Redfield said.

But Redfield noted that he didn’t say the coronavirus itself would be “worse” in the winter.

Earlier in the press conference, President Donald Trump said Redfield was “totally misquoted” when he previously said challenges from the coronavirus could be “more difficult” in the winter. (Read more from “U.S. Officials Prepare for ‘Two Viruses’ Next Fall: Coronavirus and the Flu” HERE)

CDC: Two New York Cats Have the Coronavirus. Their Humans Don’t.

Just when you thought the coronacopalypse might be waning, here’s another set of rules to throw in the mix that you’re not going to like.

In a news release, the CDC announced today that two New York area cats, who live in two different areas of the state, have come down with the virus. They didn’t catch it from their humans because their owners don’t have coronavirus.

Sure, we know you love your cats and all, but here’s what you really want to know. Can YOU catch the virus from your animals? No, apparently.

Public health officials are still learning about SARS-CoV-2, but there is no evidence that pets play a role in spreading the virus in the United States. Therefore, there is no justification in taking measures against companion animals that may compromise their welfare. Further studies are needed to understand if and how different animals, including pets, could be affected.

‘Nobody Told Us About the Pandemic’: Couple Traveling the World in a Yacht Had No Idea Coronavirus Had Swept the Globe

A couple who quit their jobs in 2017 and bought a boat to sail around the world were completely unaware of the Covid-19 pandemic – until they tried to dock in the Caribbean.

Elena Manighetti from Lombardy, Italy and Ryan Osborne from Manchester left the Canary Islands in late February to plan to travel to St Vincent – a distance of 3,000 miles. . .

However, when approaching the Caribbean, they were told that many of the islands had closed their borders to protect their populations from the Covid-19 virus.

The couple said when they left the Canary Islands they had been aware of a virus in China but did not think it could possibly affect their journey on the other side of the world.

After 25 days at sea – without access to news from the outside world as they had no mobile phone signal – they were told they were unable to dock at several ports because of the new lockdown restrictions. Unemployment Tweak Could Help Companies Rehire

Last week, the CARES Act’s SBA-administered Paycheck Protection Program loans, at least temporarily, reached its funding limit. While Congress debates and considers its options regarding this program and other COVID-19 responses, states can and must step in to act in support of small businesses. They can do so by holding businesses harmless on their unemployment taxes for layoffs they likely would not have made otherwise.

Government measures taken to try and lower the rate of new infections are tough, but important. They have also had predictable and devastating economic consequences, including business closures and layoffs. As a result, millions of people have filed new unemployment claims in recent weeks.

While we work on solving the COVID-19 crisis, we must have a plan in place to kick-start the economy when the immediate danger abates. We must create an environment where people can get back to work, and businesses can rehire employees they likely did not want to let go in the first place.

This solution is simple but can have a major benefit. At some point, the states and federal government will decide to end their declared states of emergency. On that date, businesses would have 30 days to extend formal offers to rehire laid-off workers at similar or identical titles and pay under this proposal. If the business extends an offer to 85% (or another suitable amount) of its laid-off workers, and successfully rehires a majority of those offered, then they will not suffer an increase to their experience rating for unemployment taxes. Since an employer’s experience rating is based on their willingness and ability to retain workers, the unique circumstances of the COVID-19 outbreak should not be held against them. THE COVID-19 SCANDAL: Billionaire Bill Gates and WHO

The coronavirus scandal, with billionaire oligarch “pandemic expert” Bill Gates pushing horror scenarios into the media, has contributed to politicians’ reaction of fear. . .

The close relationship between Dr. Tedros and Bill Gates is illustrated by Tedros calling Gates “my brother” when opening speeches. Everyone else, such as the WHO-favored Norwegian prime minister, Erna Solberg, are addressed as dignitaries. Through its CEPI work, the current Norwegian government is allied with Gates, Norway funding billions into vaccine programs.

A strong defender of the current strategies of the WHO leadership, now under scrutiny for its mismanagement in reporting during the COVID-19 scandal, Solberg has taken a remarkable strong stance while other European leaders question the WHO. . .

Gates owns everything from charity to world vaccines, pays the WHO by the billions, funds NGOs and controls politicians who treat him like a king from the Middle Ages. He owns medical facilities, controls distribution channels and medical staff, owns the research, the vaccines, the health institutes, and was recently criticized by Robert Kennedy for his “messianic complex.” Just talk to Elon Musk.

It is a massive problem that non-democratically elected Bill Gates shapes our democracies with “philanthropist” billions. Gates pushed the idea of the pandemic of the century. He even suggested in a recent interview, that the opening up should not come until there is a digital immunity proof documenting who is vaccinated or not. The vaccine would be Gates-owned, we assume. Facebook Bans Anti-Quarantine Event Posts; Fauci Says Protesters Could Prolong Shutdown

By New York Post. . .The social-media company has removed events set up by protestors in states such as Nebraska, California and New Jersey, where thousands of protestors — masked and unmasked alike — have gathered in the hopes of opening up the country in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

“Unless government prohibits the event during this time, we allow it to be organized on Facebook,” a company spokesperson tells The Post. “For this same reason, events that defy government’s guidance on social distancing aren’t allowed on Facebook.”

Events were removed in states where protests violate stay-at-home orders. Protests are raging across the country over states’ shelter-in-place warnings, with many claiming there are enough tests available to open up businesses again. Health officials warn that we’re not quite there yet, however.

Over the weekend, rallies took place in cities such as Denver, Colorado, where protestors came head-to-head with health-care workers in a battle over social distancing. Across California, organizers carried signs that read “Open Cali Now” and “Saltwater Is Safe,” referring to beach closures in the state. ‘It’s Going to Backfire’: Fauci Says Anti-Quarantine Protesters Could Prolong Shutdown

By MSN. Dr. Anthony Fauci, one of the leading experts in the White House’s response to the coronavirus, warned demonstrations happening across the country protesting the quarantine orders will prolong the shutdown period.

Residents in at least 20 states have taken to the streets to protest their governor’s stay-at-home orders, arguing that the country should start to reopen and recover from the virus. More than 21 million people have lost their jobs in the last four weeks.

Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, was asked about the dangers of these protests during an appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America on Monday.

“I think the message is that, clearly, this is something that is hurting from the standpoint of economics, from the standpoint of things that have nothing to do with the virus,” Fauci said. “But unless we get the virus under control, the real recovery, economically, is not gonna happen.” (Read more from “‘It’s Going to Backfire’: Fauci Says Anti-Quarantine Protesters Could Prolong Shutdown” HERE)

Coronavirus Has Mutated Into at Least 30 Different Strains New Study Finds; F.D.A. Authorizes First In-Home Test

By The Jerusalem Post. A new study in China has found that the novel coronavirus has mutated into at least 30 different variations.

The results showed that medical officials have vastly underestimated the overall ability of the virus to mutate, in findings that different strains have affected different parts of the world, leading to potential difficulties in finding an overall cure.

The study was carried out by Professor Li Lanjuan and colleagues from Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China and published in a non-peer reviewed paper released on website medRxiv.org on Sunday.

Li’s team analyzed the strains from 11 randomly chosen coronavirus patients from Hangzhou, where there have been 1,264 reported cases, and then tested how efficiently they could infect and kill cells.

More than 30 different mutations were detected, of which 19 were previously undiscovered. (Read more from “Coronavirus Has Mutated Into at Least 30 Different Strains New Study Finds” HERE)

F.D.A. Authorizes First In-Home Test for Coronavirus

By The New York Times. The Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday said it had granted emergency clearance to the first in-home test for the coronavirus, a nasal swab kit that will be sold by LabCorp.

The agency said that LabCorp had submitted data showing the home test is as safe and accurate as a sample collection at a doctor’s office, hospital or other testing site.

“With this action, there is now a convenient and reliable option for patient sample collection from the comfort and safety of their home,” Dr. Stephen M. Hahn, the F.D.A. commissioner, said in a statement. (Read more from “F.D.A. Authorizes First In-Home Test for Coronavirus” HERE)

WATCH: Mother Arrested for Bringing Her Children to Closed-Off Park

A mother-of-two was arrested by police in Meridian, Idaho, on Tuesday, after she violated the city’s ban against using playground equipment at a local park when she and other families allowed their children to play in a closed-off area.

Within hours of her interaction with law enforcement — part of which was caught on video — demonstrators congregated in front of Meridian City Hall to protest the actions of their local government. . .

Sara Brady, 40, was arrested and charged with one count of misdemeanor trespassing, the Meridian Police Department announced in a press release, after officers responded to Kleiner Park following “several calls to Ada County Dispatch.” . . .

At least two videos of Brady’s interaction with police began circulating across the internet.

One shows the mother arguing to police that she and others were not trespassing, and asking the officers if they were “going to arrest everyone for not social distancing over there,” while pointing to people off camera.

After Almost Two Weeks of Democratic Delays, Senate Passes $484 Billion Relief Bill (VIDEO)

Senate Republicans applauded a deal to refund the relief to coronavirus-stricken businesses on Tuesday after 12 days of delays they blamed on Democratic stalling.

The bill includes $310 billion to refund the Paycheck Protection Program, and $100 billion for hospitals and testing. . .

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) criticized Democrats for stalling the relief deal in order to shoehorn their provisions into the bill.

“Republicans never wanted this crucial program for workers and small businesses to shut down,” said McConnell according to Fox News.

“We tried to pass additional funding a week before it lapsed,” he explained. “But Democratic leaders blocked the money and spent days trying to negotiate extraneous issues that were never on the table. I am grateful our colleagues have walked away from those demands and will finally let Congress act.”
