At Least Four Mid-Level Officers Have Publicly Revolted Against Military Leaders. What’s Going On?

There must be something in the water that mid-level military officers are drinking because four of them have publicly thrown down with their chain of command since spring and the acts of open defiance show no signs of slowing down.

Since May, a Space Force lieutenant colonel has claimed that the military’s diversity and anti-extremism training are rooted in Marxism; a Marine lieutenant colonel became a lightning rod for openly critiquing military leadership over the Afghanistan withdrawal while in uniform; an Army lieutenant colonel has tried to resign just short of retirement because he believes that requiring troops to be vaccinated for COVID-19 is an “unlawful, unethical, immoral, and tyrannical order”; and a Navy commander has gone on Fox News to promote conspiracy theories about COVID-19 vaccines. . .

But for reasons that are still unknown, the four officers who have decided it’s better to flame out than to fade away have all been the same paygrade. Three of them are lieutenant colonels and one is a Navy commander. All those ranks are the fifth officer paygrade in the military, commonly referred to as O-5s. . .

Furman is the second mid-level officer who has recently attacked the Defense Department’s policy of making novel coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccinations mandatory for all troops. Army Lt. Col. Paul Hague described the mandatory vaccines as “an ideologically Marxist takeover of the military and the United States government at their upper echelons” in his resignation letter, which his wife posted on Twitter on Sept. 9.

Two other lieutenant colonels have also publicly torched their careers this year by challenging senior military leadership. Space Force Lt. Col. Matthew Lohmeier was relieved in May as commander of 11th Space Warning Squadron after making comments on a podcast about his book, in which he claims that Marxist ideology is seeping into the military. Florida Secures Additional Monoclonal Antibodies Despite Biden’s Cut Back To Red States

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced on Thursday that he has secured additional monoclonal antibodies to fight COVID-19 in his state. The move comes after President Joe Biden cut back on federal distribution of the life-saving treatment to Florida and other southern, red states last week.

“We know there’s going to be a continuing need to make this early treatment available for folks. And so in some respects, it’s sad that I have to announce, but I am happy that we’re not just sitting on our rump — we’re making things happen,” said DeSantis. “So, the state of Florida has been able to acquire an additional 3,000 doses of the monoclonal antibody treatment, which is manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline. It got emergency-use approval just a few months ago. The clinical data that they had was really, really strong.”

The governor later went on to slam the Biden administration, saying that the decision to cut antibody supplies to the state is “wrong” and would result in “negative” implications for Floridians going forward. Chaos Breaks Out Live During ‘The View’ as Co-Hosts Test Positive for COVID-10 Mid-Show — With VP Kamala Harris Backstage

Chaos erupted on the set of “The View” on Friday after co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro tested positive for COVID-19 mid-show.

Co-host Joy Behar was just beginning to introduce Vice President Kamala Harris to the show when producers yanked Hostin and Navarro from the stage, a report from the Daily Beast says. . .

An off-camera voice could be heard asking the two to “step off for a second.”

The two left the stage while a confused-looking Behar then asked the off-camera producers if she could continue introducing Harris when one person shouted “yes.”

Country Revolts Over Vicious COVID Crackdown

Citizens in Australia’s largest cities have taken to the streets in protest of strict coronavirus lockdowns and mandatory vaccination for workers, with police Wednesday in Melbourne firing rubber bullets, stinger grenades and pepper balls on the third day of violent demonstrations.

Residents of Melbourne have been under a strict lockdown for 230 days that includes a 9 p.m. curfew. Police arrested 215 protesters throughout the day, and two officers suffered head injuries.

“I’ve grown up here my entire life in Australia, I can’t believe that I’m seeing this in my state as well,” said Australian journalist Rukshan Fernando in an interview with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham.

Ingraham said that for a moment, she thought she was seeing scenes from China. In only months, she said, Australia “has gone from one of the world’s freest countries to what is essentially a bio-medical police state.”

“China’s looking very rapaciously at Australia but it looked more like something at Tiananmen Square than you’d expect from Australia,” Ingraham said on her program Tuesday night.

Researchers Predict Steady Decline in COVID Cases Through March — Without Any ‘Significant Winter Surge’

A group of researchers that advises the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention predicted this week that the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic could be over — and said that a steady decline in confirmed coronavirus cases through March could very well be on the horizon.

The pandemic, according to a consortium of researchers advising the CDC, appears to have either peaked or be close to peaking, as they predict cases will fall this autumn and into the winter months.

The Delta variant surge also appears to be peaking nationally, according to the group’s predictions, and the country is reportedly not likely to see a “significant winter surge.”

A Wednesday report from NPR noted, “For its latest update, which it will release Wednesday, the COVID-19 Scenario Modeling Hub combined nine different mathematical models from different research groups to get an outlook for the pandemic for the next six months.”

Justin Lessler of the University of North Carolina — who helps to run the hub — told the news organization, “Any of us who have been following this closely, given what happened with Delta, are going to be really cautious about too much optimism. Whistleblower: 2019 Wuhan Military Games Were China’s First Intentional COVID Super-Spreader Event

On July 21, 2021, Lawrence Sellin, Ph.D. broke the news on The Gateway Pundit from a China source that the release of COVID-19 at the 2019 Military World Games in Wuhan was a test of the longer-term effects of that type of bioweapon because foreign visitors to the Games would carry it back to their own countries and the consequences could be observed. . .

The source explained that the subsequent outbreak in Wuhan was entirely unexpected. That is, there was no laboratory leak, but the unintended spread among the Chinese population of Wuhan of a virus for which they had underestimated its transmissibility.

Beijing learned about the silent spreading of COVID-19 by the beginning of December, but kept it quiet and allowed international flights from Wuhan to continue. . .

Study: Monoclonal Antibodies Massively Reduced Risk of Hospitalization Among High-Risk COVID-Positive Individuals

Treatment with two monoclonal antibodies lowers the odds of hospitalization for high-risk COVID-19 patients with mild to moderate illness, according to a new study.

“Our conclusion overall at this point is that monoclonal antibodies are an important option in treatment to reduce the impact of COVID-19 in high-risk patients,” said senior author Dr. Raymund Razonable, an infectious diseases specialist at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.

The combination of casirivimab and imdevimab has emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The study included 696 COVID-19 patients treated with the combo at the Mayo Clinic between December 2020 and early April 2021, and an equal number of patients who didn’t receive it. . .

New COVID Variant Detected in U.S. Nursing Home

Experts have discovered a new coronavirus variant in a Kentucky nursing home, and it appears to be a unique variant worth keeping an eye on.

Per Forbes, the new variant — named R.1 — is related to the original coronavirus strain. It was originally discovered in Japan and has infected more than 10,000 people globally, according to recent data. . .

Experts recommend keeping an eye on this variant as it spreads in the U.S. and Japan.

“R.1 is a variant to watch,” according to Forbes. “It has established a foothold in both Japan and the United States. In addition to several mutations notably in the spike and nucleocapsid protein in common with variants of concern, R.1 has a set of unique mutations that may confer an additional advantage in transmission, replication, and immune suppression.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention first discovered the variant in Kentucky in April. However, the CDC study said that vaccinated residents were 87% less likely to have symptomatic COVID-19 cases through the variant compared to the unvaccinated. Bombshell Study: This Drug Can Block Multiple COVID-19 Variants

In a recent study published in Science Immunology, researchers found that the drug diABZI—which activates the body’s innate immune response—was highly effective in preventing severe COVID-19.

The findings suggest that diABZI could also treat other respiratory coronaviruses.

The study is from the University of Pennsylvania. One author is Sara Cherry, Ph.D.

The SARS-CoV-2 virus initially targets epithelial cells in the respiratory tract. As the first line of defense against infection, the respiratory tract’s innate immune system recognizes viral pathogens by detecting their molecular patterns.

Viewers Rage At Maskless Emmys: ‘But Kids Have To Wear A Mask To School. What The F**k’

Hollywood celebrities went maskless Sunday at the 73rd annual Emmy Awards as millions of children are being forced to wear masks in school.

Stars were packed close together into an enclosed space at the Event Deck at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles, with other celebrities congregating at an indoor venue in London.

Presenter Seth Rogen appeared baffled by the indoor setting, as Emmy organizers had announced earlier the show would take place in an “air-conditioned tent.” The venue as shown on TV appeared to be fully enclosed.

“I would not have come to this. Why is there a roof?” Rogen joked.
