U.S.-Canadian Border Could Be Restricted for Some Time

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau suggested that his nation’s border with the United States might continue to restrict visitors for some time.

The prime minister said on Tuesday that he wouldn’t consider the possibility of fully reopening the border until it was clear the world had a better handle on COVID-19.

“Until the virus is significantly more under control everywhere around the world, we’re not going to be releasing the restrictions at the border,” he told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, adding, “The situation in the United States continues to be extremely serious, and it will take a while to turn the ship around.”

In March, the U.S. and Canada agreed to ban nonessential travel between the two nations, and that ban has been renewed every month since it was originally put in place. (Read more from “U.S.-Canadian Border Could Be Restricted for Some Time” HERE)

Feds Bracing for Anticipated Surge of Fake COVID Vaccines

The U.S. government has launched a major effort to block the importation and sale of illegitimate coronavirus vaccines officials anticipate will flood the black market and dark web as people become desperate for the limited number of real vaccines.

“Based on current trends and through actionable intelligence, special agents anticipate that criminal organizations will continue to adapt and capitalize on public demand for access to vaccines and treatments as they are developed and approved,” the Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations office said in an announcement this week. “With that, the agency expects a surge in illicit attempts to introduce counterfeit versions of approved vaccines into U.S. and global marketplaces.”

AstraZeneca, Moderna, and Pfizer have each announced largely successful results from vaccine tests but have yet to clear the U.S. Food and Drug Administration before millions of doses can go out. More than 20 million people in the United States are expected to be able to be vaccinated by Jan. 1, while more than 300 million others will have to wait until the spring when vaccines are more widely available.

Healthcare workers, essential employees, the elderly, and adults with preexisting conditions will have priority over the general public, which could prompt people to turn to online search results for the shots. Consumers who are not a high priority according to the government’s criteria could turn to the internet in search of the vaccine, just as millions did earlier this year when stores ran out of face masks, cleaning supplies, and toilet paper. But injecting a vaccine that has not been approved by the FDA could lead to serious health implications for unsuspecting consumers and wrongly affect how the public views vaccine results. Nurse Suspended for Shunning Masks, Letting Her Children Have Play Dates

A hospital in Salem, Oregon, suspended one of its nurses after people complained about a video she had posted online in which she claimed to still travel, forgo masks, and allow her children to play with others.

Salem Health posted a message on its Facebook page on Saturday announcing that it had placed the nurse on leave. The hospital took action against the nurse after a number of people complained that she was violating social distancing guidelines. The hospital’s Saturday post said:

Yesterday, a nurse employed with Salem Health posted a video on social media which displayed cavalier disregard for the seriousness of this pandemic and her indifference towards physical distancing and masking outside of work. This video has prompted an outcry from concerned community members. We want to thank those of you who brought this to our attention and assure you that we are taking this very seriously. This individual does not speak for Salem Health and has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.

We also want to assure you that this one careless statement does not reflect the position of Salem Health or the hardworking and dedicated caregivers who work here.

Salem Health believes we all need to do our part to protect the vulnerable and stop the rapid spread of COVID-19. This includes requiring staff, patients and visitors to follow guidance from the CDC and others about mask wearing and social distancing. The COVID pandemic is serious and requires a serious response. And at Salem Health we are very serious about our approach to COVID.

WATCH: Pastor Turns Church Into ‘Strip Club’ to Avert Lockdown Order

For a brief moment, a California pastor turned his church into a “strip club” so it could be deemed an “essential” business and remain open amid the state’s discriminatory COVID-19 lockdown.

Pastor Rob McCoy of Godspeak Calvary Chapel in Ventura County, reported the blog RedState, noted that strip-club owners in the state have challenged the shutdown in court on First Amendment grounds, winning a temporary order Nov. 12 from a Superior Court judge that allowed them to reopen. . .

Crediting former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee with the idea, he played a clip from the Fox News show “Hannity” in which Huckabee explained “a church could announce that their pastor would remove his tie during the sermon, and since he was taking off an article of clothing, that would make the church a temporary strip club and therefore it would be legal for the parishioners to attend services.”

McCoy took of his tie and threw it into the audience.

“After a few good laughs, McCoy’s message focused on the increased persecution churches face during the pandemic shutdowns and the tyrannical rule being embraced by so many on both sides of the aisle,” the report said.

Hours After Voting To Ban Outdoor Dining, LA County Supervisor Dined Outdoors

California county supervisor dined outdoors only hours after voting to ban outdoor dining, FOX 11 reported Monday.

Shortly after Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl voted Tuesday to ban outdoor dining, calling outdoor dining a “most dangerous situation,” she was seen dining outside at the Santa Monica restaurant Il Forno Trattoria, according to FOX 11.

Kuehl admitted through a spokesperson that she dined at Il Forno “on the very last day it was permissible.” The outdoor dining ban went into effect Wednesday, the publication reported.

“She loves Il Forno, has been saddened to see it, like so many restaurants, suffer from a decline in revenue,” the spokesperson told FOX 11. “She ate there, taking appropriate precautions, and sadly will not dine there again until our Public Health Orders permit.” (Read more from “Hours After Voting To Ban Outdoor Dining, LA County Supervisor Dined Outdoors” HERE)

Trump’s COVID Advisor Resigns

Dr Scott Atlas has resigned from the White House coronavirus task force[.] . .

Donald Trump appointed the radiologist and fellow at a conservative think tank to the task force as an adviser in August. The role was set to expire next week.

In a letter obtained by Fox News and dated 1 December, Dr Atlas said that he “worked hard with a singular focus – to save lives and help Americans through this pandemic,” adding that he “always relied on the latest science and evidence, without any political consideration or influence” despite pushing false claims that undermined experts and health officials as infections continued to surge. . .

Dr Atlas – who has been highly critical of lockdown measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus – has also has clashed with other members of the task force, with infectious disease expert Dr Anthony Fauci telling The Washington Post last month that he believes Dr Atlas is “a smart guy who’s talking about things that I believe he doesn’t have any real insight or knowledge or experience in.” (Read more from “Trump’s COVID Advisor Resigns” HERE)

Waffle House CEO Rips COVID-19 Lockdowns

The COVID-19 lockdowns have crippled the restaurant industry to such a degree that Waffle House CEO Walt Ehmer is sounding the alarm.

Speaking with Stuart Varney on Fox Business, Ehmer lamented that the lockdowns are taking away people’s livelihoods, threatening to create a dark Christmas.

“Our people have been decimated by these restrictions,” Ehmer said. “And when you look at the states where people are not allowed to work, we’re taking away people’s livelihood, we’re taking away their hope for a future, especially this time of the year, people can’t consider buying their kids Christmas presents.”

“It’s devastating to the people and the people can’t wait until spring,” he added. . .

Ehmer argued that his restaurants have been particularly sensitive to COVID concerns by not being open 24 hours a day and voluntarily shutting down “dining rooms at night because we recognize in some circumstances the alcohol does play a role in terms of people socializing a little too much and crowds gathering.” (Read more from “Waffle House CEO Rips COVID-19 Lockdowns” HERE)

Articles of Impeachment Filed Against Ohio Gov. Mike Dewine

A total of 12 articles of impeachment have officially been filed against Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine over abuse of power during the Chinese coronavirus pandemic.

Ohio State Rep. John Becker (R) was joined by Representatives Candice Keller (R), Nino Vitale (R), and Paul Zeltwanger (R) in filing articles of impeachment against Governor DeWine, according to a report by Cleveland 19 News.

The representatives argue that DeWine has abused his power during the pandemic, noting that the governor vetoed Senate Bill 55 — and threatened to veto other General Assembly legislation, including Senate Bill 311 — which seeks to severely limit the governor’s power during a pandemic.

“Governor DeWine’s mismanagement, malfeasance, misfeasance, abuse of power, and other crimes include, but are not limited to, meddling in the conduct of a presidential primary election, arbitrarily closing and placing curfews on certain businesses, while allowing other businesses to remain open,” said Rep. Becker’s office in a statement.

“He weaponized the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation to bully and harass businesses and the people; to enforce a statewide mask mandate and other controversial measures of dubious ‘value,’ making Ohio a hostile work environment,” the statement added. Report: U.S. to Have 500K Fewer U.S. Births in 2021 Due to Coronavirus Crisis

The United States is expected to have up to 500,000 fewer births next year as a result of the Chinese coronavirus crisis, according to research.

The research by the left-leaning Brookings Institute was published in the Wall Street Journal, detailing a grim future for the makers of baby and infant products because of fewer births spurred by the crisis.

The Journal notes:

The think tank has forecast between 300,000 to 500,000 fewer births in the U.S. next year, compared with a drop of 44,172 last year. Its analysis, partly based on what happened following the 2007-2009 recession, is that weaker job prospects equate to fewer births. “Women will have many fewer babies in the short term, and for some of them, a lower total number of children over their lifetimes,” it said in a June report. [Emphasis added]
