Report: U.S. Intelligence Agencies Are Keeping From Congress Key Information About COVID Origins

U.S. intelligence agencies are obstructing congressional oversight by failing to disclose relevant information about Covid-19’s origins and potential connections to a Chinese bioweapons program, finds a new report from the Republicans on the House Permanent Select Committee On Intelligence. The HPSCI Republicans led by Rep. Brad Wenstrup of Ohio found “indications that SARS-CoV-2 may have been tied to China’s biological weapons research program and spilled over to the human population during a lab-related incident at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV).”

U.S. intelligence agencies, along with corporate media and Big Tech, scrambled at Covid’s release to censor suggestions the virus leaked from a lab working on gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Publications such as The Federalist that reported on evidence for the lab leak theory were punished by internet censors.

Wenstrup confirmed during a press conference on Thursday that “right now, there’s no evidence that it came from nature.” He also said China’s communist government likely benefitted from misleading reports that Covid originated in a Chinese wet market, instead of from a government-run lab.

“Since the People’s Republic of China has not been transparent in sharing information, the IC is uniquely situated to provide relevant information. Top Doctor: Long COVID Is Being Exaggerated To Extort Taxpayers

John’s Hopkins Medical School Professor Dr. Marty Makary, who also serves as a health advisor for Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, is warning “long COVID” is being exaggerated in order to extort American taxpayers for more money.

“Long Covid is real. I have reliable patients who describe lingering symptoms after Covid infection. But public-health officials have massively exaggerated long Covid to scare low-risk Americans as our government gives more than $1 billion to a long Covid medical-industrial complex,” Makary writes in the Wall Street Journal.

“The National Institutes for Health has been intensely focused on studying long Covid, spending nearly $1.2 billion on the condition. To date, the return on investment has been zero for the people suffering with it. But it’s been terrific for MRI centers, lab testing companies and hospitals that set up long Covid clinics,” he continues. “I’ve talked to the staff at some of these clinics and it’s unclear what they are actually offering to people beyond a myriad of tests.”

Secret Service: Chinese Hackers Stole Millions in Coronavirus Benefits

The Secret Service recently disclosed that hackers linked to the Chinese Communist Party stole at least $20 million in coronavirus relief benefits.

While it is known that theft of state unemployment funds related to the Chinese coronavirus was committed, this is the first time the U.S. government has publicly acknowledged that thievery was also committed by foreign, state-sponsored cybercriminals, according to a report by NBC News.

The Secret Service said that Small Business Administration loans and unemployment insurance funds experienced theft of taxpayer funds in over a dozen states. Law enforcement and cybersecurity experts added that the theft committed by this hacking group — known as APT41 — may be the tip of the iceberg.

Scientist Who Worked at Wuhan Lab Says COVID Was Man-Made Virus

A scientist who worked at a controversial research lab in China has claimed that COVID was a man-made virus that leaked from the facility, according to a report.

Andrew Huff, who worked for a New York-based non-profit that studied viruses, said COVID leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China two-plus years ago and blamed authorities for the “biggest US intelligence failure since 9/11,” Britain’s The Sun reported Saturday.

The lab has been at the center of fierce debates about the origins of COVID, with both Chinese government officials and lab personnel denying that the virus leaked from the facility.

Huff, an epidemiologist, said in his new book, “The Truth About Wuhan,” that the pandemic was the result of the US government’s funding of coronaviruses in China.

HHS Secretary Urges COVID Booster Every 2 Months

With only 14% of adults choosing to get the new bivalent, omicron-specific COVID shot, the White House has launched a campaign urging people to get a COVID booster once a year.

A tweet Monday from Vice President Kamala Harris said: “One shot, once a year – that’s all most people will need to stay protected from COVID year-long. Make a plan to get your shot at http://vaccines.gov.”

The following day, however, Biden’s secretary of Health and Human Services, Xavier Becerra, tweeted that if “it’s been over 2 months since your last dose, make a plan to get one now.”

A tweet from the CDC account said the same: “Did you know you should get an updated bivalent #COVID19 booster at least 2 months after completing your primary series or last booster? Chinese Cities Cut Back COVID Restrictions After Protests

Two cities in China have loosened some COVID restrictions after massive protests rocked the country in recent days.

The cities of Guangzhou and Chongqing said they will cut back on COVID restrictions following the outcry of citizens across the country. Chongqing will now permit close contacts of those who are infected with COVID to stay at home while they quarantine if they meet certain requirements, according to a city official. Guangzhou also said it will let up on the restrictions, but officials did not discuss the demonstrations. The area where violence broke out on Tuesday was still under strict rule. On Monday, protesters demolished a COVID testing site in Guangzhou, leading police to take action to scatter the groups of people.

China’s “zero-COVID” policy has been a key strategy in President Xi Jinping’s attempt to control the virus, but the intense restrictions and crackdowns on citizens appeared to be reaching a breaking point in recent days.

Health authorities in China also toned down their discussions of COVID, reportedly telling local governments not to take part in lockdowns that are long and unnecessary.

“International and domestic monitoring data confirmed that the pathogenicity and virulence of the Omicron mutant strains … are significantly weaker than the original strain and variant strains such as Delta,” Chang Zhaorui, a researcher at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, told the press. 19,000 Millionaires Collected Unemployment During the Pandemic

Thousands of millionaires were collecting government unemployment checks while essential workers were paying into the system during the pandemic, according to IRS data.

More than 19,000 tax filers who reported earning at least $1 million in 2020 also collected unemployment benefits that year. They walked away with more than a quarter of a billion dollars in payments, the IRS found.

Among them were 229 taxpayers who earned at least $10 million that year yet also applied for and took unemployment payments. Nearly 700 more taxpayers collected jobless benefits despite making $5 million to $10 million.

Sen. Joni Ernst, an Iowa Republican who in 2020 tried to draw attention to the likelihood that millionaires would get unemployment benefits, said it was particularly galling to see them collect money while so many lower-wage workers were still on the job and paying taxes to fund the system. She called it the “reverse-millionaire tax.”

New Stats on COVID Deaths Debunk White House Narrative About the Vaccine

New data from the Kaiser Family Foundation shows the majority of people who died from COVID-19 in August were fully vaccinated.

Fifty-eight percent of coronavirus deaths in August were people who were vaccinated or boosted, according to an analysis conducted for The Health 202 by Cynthia Cox, vice president at the Kaiser Family Foundation.

It’s a continuation of a troubling trend that has emerged over the past year. As vaccination rates have increased and new variants appeared, the share of deaths of people who were vaccinated has been steadily rising.

The information comes less than 24 hours after White House Coronavirus Coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha claimed “nearly 100 percent” of deaths from the virus can be stopped if Americans simply get vaccinated and boosted. FDA Says Telling People Not to Take Ivermectin for COVID-19 Was Just a Recommendation

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) telling people to “stop” taking ivermectin for COVID-19 was informal and just a recommendation, government lawyers argued during a recent hearing.

“The cited statements were not directives. They were not mandatory. They were recommendations. They said what parties should do. They said, for example, why you should not take ivermectin to treat COVID-19. They did not say you may not do it, you must not do it. They did not say it’s prohibited or it’s unlawful. They also did not say that doctors may not prescribe ivermectin,” Isaac Belfer, one of the lawyers, told the court during the Nov. 1 hearing in federal court in Texas.

“They use informal language, that is true,” he also said, adding that, “it’s conversational but not mandatory.”

The hearing was held in a case brought by three doctors who say the FDA illegally interfered with their ability to prescribe medicine to their patients when it issued statements on ivermectin, an anti-parasitic that has shown positive results in some trials against COVID-19.

Landmark Anti-lab Leak Paper Was Covertly Influenced by Compromised Scientists

One of the most influential papers arguing against the COVID-19 lab-leak theory was covertly crafted by three scientists with substantial histories of conducting gain-of-function research, an investigation by U.S. Right To Know revealed.

The paper in question, “The proximal origin of SARS-CoV-2,” was published in March 2020 in “Nature Medicine” by five notable researchers specializing in microbiology, immunology and infectious diseases. Three individuals who were not listed as authors — Dr. Marion Koopmans, Dr. Ron Fouchier and Dr. Christian Drosten — were significant influences on its contents, according to USRTK.

Koopmans, Fouchier and Drosten all have glaring conflicts of interest that call into question their ability to be impartial regarding the possibility that a lab accident released a genetically engineered virus that went on to cause the global pandemic. Koopmans is the head of virology at the Erasmus Medical Center in the Netherlands, and Fouchier is her deputy. Erasmus is a collaborator with EcoHealth Alliance, a now-infamous non-profit responsible for funneling U.S. taxpayer money to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, according to Science.

As for Drosten, he conducts gain-of-function (GoF) research funded by the German government. GoF research involves genetically modifying pathogens to make them more dangerous by enhancing their infectiousness or lethality.
