As Republicans take control of Congress, they are bringing in veteran influence peddlers to help them run the show. Nearly a dozen veteran K Streeters have been named as top staffers to GOP leaders or on key committees as lawmakers prepare to take the gavel in January.
For instance, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell named Hazen Marshall policy director earlier this week. Marshall, a former staff director for the Senate Budget Committee, has spent the last 10 years as a lobbyist at the Nickles Group representing dozens of clients like AT&T, Comcast and energy company Exelon.
The trend is in part because Republicans are taking control of the Senate next year, opening up attractive jobs once held by Democrats.
And while former staffers-turned lobbyists often end up back in public service — the revolving door has been swinging for years — there is a notable increase in the pace of K Streeters making the move back to Congress this month.

Detectives have been handed a dossier naming six serving parliamentarians accused of involvement in a Westminster paedophile ring, it has been reported.
The three MPs and three members of the House of Lords were included in a file compiled by the Labour MP John Mann, which was handed to Scotland Yard earlier this month.
It included the names of 22 politicians in total, the Sunday Times reported.
Fourteen of the individuals identified by Mr Mann were Conservative politicians, five were Labour and three were from other parties.
The MP, who has played an instrumental role in securing an inquiry into the alleged establishment paedophile ring, distilled the list of names from hundreds of pieces of information handed to him by members of the public.
Not only are eight members of the Obama Administration named, starting with Obama himself, but also GOP Speaker of the House John Boehner and GOP Senator Saxby Chambliss.
As the release states, “President Barack Obama actually tops this ‘Top Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians’ list for 2013 as the driving force behind so many of the misdeeds… He is a master at catch-me-if-you-can, corrupt politics.”
Judicial Watch notes Obama’s penchant for ignoring Congress and rewriting federal law himself, including rewriting the Obamacare law 14 times by executive fiat; his “continual lies” that Americans could keep their own health care under Obamacare, despite his knowledge that “more than 40 to 67 percent of those in the individual market would not be able to keep their plans, even if they liked them;” and his disavowal of responsibility for targeting the Tea Party and other conservative groups by the IRS, though he had made remarks warning about the dangers of conservative groups since 2010.

The latest Obama fix came on December 20, when he suddenly moved to allow hundreds of thousands of people who have lost their insurance due to Obamacare to sign up for bare-bone “catastrophic” plans. As National Review observed, “Of course, like every other exemption from Obamacare the latest fix is supposed to last only a year, raising the prospect that people will be kicked off their catastrophic coverage as soon as the 2014 election is safely in the political rear-view mirror.

Photo Credit: WND As a member of the elite Presidential Protective Division of the Secret Service, Dan Bongino says he found President Obama surrounded by “acolytes” who rarely gave the nation’s chief executive an accurate picture of himself or the problems he faced.
That “bubble,” he said, helps breed corruption, and now that he’s running as a Republican for a seat in Congress, he’s determined not to fall under the spell that seems to afflict nearly everyone who enters the Beltway, to one degree or another.
But there’s a major problem, he believes, that is rooted in human nature. No one on Earth, he contends, is immune to corruption.
“The first step to corruption is assuming you’re incorruptible,” Bongino told WND in an interview.
Bongino, whose new book “Life Inside the Bubble” was released this week, said his view of human nature is rooted in his Christian faith and informed by seeing the inside of a system he says is “more corrupt that the American people can even imagine.”
Andrés Granier has a sumptuous wardrobe and lifestyle. He has bragged about owning 400 pairs of shoes, 300 suits and 1,000 shirts, collected from luxury stores in New York and Los Angeles. His purchases barely fit in his several properties, scattered throughout Mexico and abroad.
A tape recording of Mr. Granier’s boasts, making him sound like a highflying corporate executive, was leaked to a local radio station last month. But his job title, until December, was governor of a midsize southeastern Mexican state, a position that currently pays about $92,000 a year after taxes.
“We go to Fifth Avenue and buy a pair of shoes; $600,” Mr. Granier is heard saying about one of his trips abroad. “I took clothes to Miami, I took clothes to Cancún, I took clothes to my house, and I have leftovers,” he added, saying, “I’m going to auction them off.” (The day after the recording was made public, he said that he had been inebriated while making those statements in October.)
But just as eye-opening as the extravagances of a public official — now under investigation after Mr. Granier’s successor discovered that about $190 million in state funds was unaccounted for, the state government said this month — is that they came to light at all in a country where state and local corruption, a serious drag on Mexico’s development, run deep and are rarely exposed.

In the midst of the eruption of near-daily scandals involving the Obama administration, let us not forget that until just a few months ago, Hillary Clinton was the most significant persona within that administration besides the president himself. Let us not also forget that notwithstanding the scandal-grenades going off all around us, Mrs. Clinton diligently plans her run for the presidency, even while several of those scandals are obviously and entirely her responsibility, exposing the State Department during her tenure as an utter sewer of corruption, cronyism, and fatal incompetence.
For as long as Hillary Clinton has been on the national scene, she has left a path of destruction and wreckage in her wake that is both impressive and terrible to behold. She is a testament to the extent of damage that can be done by one person determined to conquer everything before her in the quest for unlimited power and self-gratification. The only prize left to her in American politics is the presidency, which she has always felt is hers by right. Indeed, she would have attained it were it not for the upstart community organizer, a fellow admirer of Saul Alinsky, who spoke in volumes but said nothing.
While such determination comes at a staggering cost, we should remind ourselves that the bill is never paid by Mrs. Clinton or her equally arrogant husband. It is paid by the country. Before we ask yet again for the check, perhaps we should remind ourselves of exactly who this woman is who will soon attempt to seduce the country, and her history as the object of an absurd and undeserved degree of national affection.
Before accompanying her husband to the White House as our first co-president, Mrs. Clinton was working hard on becoming the person we now know her to be. As with her husband, the goal has always been the attainment of power masquerading as public service. Setting an example for the Obamas to emulate, the Clintons put self-absorption and personal victory before all else. The Clintons have always served themselves, and nothing else.
Do you recall the slime that was Whitewater, in which the Clintons dissembled and lied while their former business partners went to jail? Do you remember Mrs. Clinton earning $100,000 in profit in 1979 on a $1,000 investment over the course of only 9 months in volatile cattle futures, about which she knew nothing, thanks to help from a highly placed Tyson Foods connection? Tyson profited handsomely in Arkansas, with state loans and appointments. We are to believe that Clinton studied the Wall Street Journal to achieve a feat against which the odds were one in 250 million. Do you recall the Rose Law Firm billing records that magically appeared in Mrs. Clinton’s White House office, years after they had been subpoenaed? Or the death of Vince Foster under rather extraordinary and inexplicable circumstances, and the lies and cover-up that followed? Do you recall that while testifying before congressional investigators as first lady, she answered “I don’t know” or “I don’t remember” 250 times? Read more from this story HERE.
Chelsea Clinton endorses mom: We need a woman in the White House

In a wide-ranging interview on MSNBC’s “NOW with Alex Wagner” Clinton was asked about getting a woman elected president, as her mother tried to do in 2008 and is expected to in 2016.
The Republican Party of Alaska has become a perfect microcosm for everything that is wrong with the Republican Party today. It has all the problems that have cropped up in other state GOP organizations gathered together in one state and taken to their worst extreme.
Abuse of power, disenfranchisement of grassroots members, misappropriation of funds, purges of members, negation of the electoral process and what amounts to a full-scale coup have all been used to keep an established party elite in power against the will of the people.
A backlash against these tactics is inevitable.
The Alaska GOP refused to properly seat elected Chairman Russ Millette and subsequently attempted to remove Vice Chair Debbie Brown when she assumed the Chairmanship. This past week, the takeover of the party was confirmed when the Central Committee rejected appeals from Millette and Brown, reaffirming the unelected installation of establishment favorite Peter Goldberg as the new party Chairman. Goldberg will be the fourth Chairman the party has had in a year, a very unhealthy sign for any organization.
In the interim, they also carried out purges of party members from other leadership positions, including declaring the entire elected membership of their District 12 Executive Committee to essentially not exist. From the lowest Precinct Committeeman to the District Chairman, the entire District was unseated with no due process, not even a hearing, at the whim of party leaders who didn’t like having an entire District in disagreement with their actions.

As Obamacare unfolds, tax collection will become subordinate to information gathering but will remain the mechanism for intimidation and bullying used by the ‘service’. Recently they asked us, some of us, for the content of our prayers. Here’s what’s in my prayers Mr. Taxman, I pray to God that the IRS dies as we know it and is replaced with a simple fair tax structure requiring little if any oversight.
Who is tasked with ensuring that Obamacare is implemented? That’s right, the IRS. Obamacare was designed as the most powerful weapon to date to be used by the government against the people! The House of Representatives has voted 37 times to repeal Obamacare but the Speaker would have us believe that nothing can be done, ”its the law of the land”, another martini please. The fact is that defunding Obamacare or ‘Obamatax’ is possible. If we don’t defund and then repeal Obamacare soon, great hardship awaits us all, compliments of the IRS!
No one in support of or supported by the Obama administration purports to know much of anything about the various scandals they’ve created, especially not our darling President! Be it the present IRS scandal, Fast and Furious or Benghazi, Mr. 0 says he’ll get to the bottom of ”it” so that ”it” never happens again. What this means is that ‘low’ and ‘high’ level officials in his administration whether guilty or not of wrong doing will be re-assigned, promoted, offered early retirement or otherwise NOT be held accountable in any meaningful way for anything. This while innocent lives are lost due to the ignorance, ineptitude and corruption of the fools running Washington DC. What will it take to alert Americans smitten with this ‘cool’ President to the fact that he and his socialist crooks are burning this country to the ground! America is changing into something we’ll all regret if we don’t reverse course soon!
Which rights were sabotaged by the IRS? Surely rights declared in the first and fourth amendments to the US Constitution were. In the first amendment, freedom of speech was sabotaged. Oh we could speak, but an IRS audit was initiated based solely upon key words we used such as ‘Tea party’ and ‘Patriot’. These and other triggers were used to target specific conservative groups and individuals for audits and other nefarious purposes, any of which should be abhorred. As for the fourth amendment, the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures was sabotaged. In the electronic age though, there’s no need for any IRS goon to come knocking at your door. Agents simply commit sabotage through the internet or postal service.
Many of us paying attention to the various scandals brought to us by the Obama administration may be asking ourselves, what’s next? Which new scandal will erupt and temporarily overshadow the previous one? Don’t people working at the IRS recognize what we see? All of this results from either stupidity and ignorance, or worse. We the people aren’t going to allow the destruction of America at the hands of foolish, corrupt politicians and bureaucrats.

Today we learned that our government targeted and harassed conservative Americans who simply wanted to be involved in the national discussion. Is it any wonder why Americans are so distrustful of D.C.? I’m sure President Obama is grateful for all the help the IRS gave his reelection campaign, but, still, you have to wonder how the bureaucrats who tried to pull this off can sleep at night.
So many Americans knew this was happening, but many felt defenseless and even helpless against a government that seems to roll along without accountability or sense of obligation to the people it’s supposed to serve. These Americans were mocked for being concerned about this, but now we see light shining on the truth, finally.
This IRS revelation is another step in the unraveling of the Obama administration’s self-proclaimed “hope and change.” Between the Benghazi cover-up and the IRS targeting Obama’s political opponents, we see the corruption at the heart of big government.
Americans should remember that this same corrupt IRS will be in charge of enforcing Obamacare. And this same inept and corrupt government will supposedly secure our now unsecured borders in advance of immigration reform and will implement a completely ethical and non-political IPAB panel to make life and death health care decisions for you and your family. Forgive me for not trusting these big government promises any more than I trust the White House’s latest Benghazi spin or the IRS’ fairness.
Despite all of this, I still believe that this “fundamental transformation of America” is temporary. This attempted transformation into a disheartened, weakened, unrecognizable nation is so far below anything Americans deserve. It becomes permanent only if we throw up our hands and surrender to the corruption and cover-ups.
We must demand more light shine on all that’s transpiring in D.C.’s self-absorbed bubble. On the IRS scandal, we must have accountability and a full investigation. On Benghazi, Speaker Boehner must create a Select Committee with full investigative and subpoena authority to get to the bottom of the cover-up. Keep the faith, friends.
