Costco Stands Firm Against Abortion Pill Sales

In an era when corporate America often bows to the loudest voices on the Left, Costco has taken a stand that deserves recognition. The retail giant has confirmed it will not dispense the abortion pill mifepristone at its 500-plus pharmacy locations.

This decision didn’t come in a vacuum. Faith-based activists, including Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) and Inspire Investing, pressed Costco to resist the cultural push to normalize abortion-on-demand through retail pharmacies. And Costco listened — or at the very least, refused to cave to activist pressure from the other side. That in itself is a win.

ADF’s Michael Ross called it “a very significant victory,” and he’s right. At a time when CVS and Walgreens are moving forward with dispensing abortion drugs, Costco has demonstrated that it will not be swayed into turning its pharmacies into abortion providers. The message is clear: not every corporation has to follow the radical Left’s playbook.

Critics claim this is “short-sighted” and that Costco is undermining “access to safe and FDA-approved medication.” But let’s be honest — this isn’t about access. Abortion pills are already widely available online and by mail. This is about pressuring every major American corporation to carry the water for the abortion industry, no matter the moral or societal cost. Costco has simply said no.

For conservatives, Costco’s decision is not just a victory — it’s momentum. The coalition of pro-life advocates is already turning its attention to Walgreens, CVS, and even Amazon, urging them not to participate in the sale of mifepristone. Every small stand matters, because it reminds corporate America that millions of consumers still believe in the sanctity of life.

Costco has proven that it’s possible to thrive without bowing to the abortion lobby. Let’s hope other retailers take note — and follow suit.

Costco Triples Down on ‘Wokeness’ as Board Member Defends DEI Practices, Rebukes Companies Scrapping Policies

A Costco board member has taken aim at companies rolling back diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies, calling for businesses to “maximize” DEI instead as the wholesaler faces pressure to join the growing list of brands ditching the controversial practice.

Jeff Raikes, co-founder of the Raikes Foundation and former CEO of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, has served on Costco’s board of directors since 2008, according to Costco’s corporate website.

Raikes and other board members have come under scrutiny in recent days after they shut down a shareholder request to dismantle DEI internally and called on other shareholders to vote against the proposal seeking to eliminate Costco’s DEI program in an upcoming meeting.

The board’s position came as a surprise to some, in light of a recent corporate trend that’s spurred a widespread abandonment of DEI policies.

But a Fox News Digital assessment of Raikes’ online history revealed a staunch proponent of DEI practices — and a man on a mission to discourage companies from biding them farewell. This Costco Medicine Just Got Recalled Due to ‘Potential Foreign Material Contamination’

A medicine being pulled from shelves at Costco is the subject of a recall that was launched due to a potential foreign material contamination.

The recall involves the medicine called Kirkland Signature Severe Cold & Flu Plus Congestion, Fox Business reported Sunday.

In its announcement, LNK International, Inc. addressed Costco members about the issue:

Out of an abundance of caution, LNK has initiated a recall for the accidental release and shipment of a specific lot code that was rejected due to potential foreign material contamination.

Costco Doubles Down on ‘Wokeness’ While Ignoring Bud Light Backlash

Costco’s board of directors is urging shareholders to vote against a proposal that would eliminate the wholesale retailer’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) program.

“Our success at Costco Wholesale has been built on service to our critical stakeholders: employees, members, and suppliers. Our efforts around diversity, equity and inclusion follow our code of ethics: For our employees, these efforts are built around inclusion – having all of our employees feel valued and respected,” the board of directors wrote in a message to investors previously reported by The Hill. “Our efforts at diversity, equity and inclusion remind and reinforce with everyone at our Company the importance of creating opportunities for all. We believe that these efforts enhance our capacity to attract and retain employees who will help our business succeed. This capacity is critical because we owe our success to our now over 300,000 employees around the globe.”

The message was sent ahead of Costco’s annual meeting of shareholders scheduled for Jan. 23, 2025.

Shareholders will vote on a proposal brought by the National Center for Public Policy Research challenging the legality of Costco’s DEI program after the Supreme Court’s ruling in SFFA v. Harvard that discriminating on the basis of race in college admissions violates the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment.

The proposal cites how attorneys general of 13 states have warned Fortune 100 companies that the ruling implicated corporate DEI programs, and a number of lawsuits have been filed. (Read more from “Costco Doubles Down on ‘Wokeness’ While Ignoring Bud Light Backlash” HERE)

Costco Issues Warning as 10,000 Products Are Recalled Over Salmonella Fears

Costco has issued a warning after eggs were recalled in five states across the country over a potential salmonella contamination.

On November 27, Handsome Brook Farms issued a recall notice of 10,800 units of Organic Pasture Raised 24-Count Eggs sold under the Kirkland Signature brand name.

The eggs were sold at 25 Costco stores across Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee beginning on November 22 2024.

The recall was initiated after the company found that eggs not intended for distribution were packaged and distributed in retail packaging by mistake.

Shauna Grob, head of operations and finance at Handsome Brook Farms, told Newsweek: ‘No illnesses have been reported at all. We have received a number of consumer calls to confirm whether the units they had in their possession were recall-able, but that has been the only interactions we have had with consumers thus far since releasing press release and notice to Costco consumers.’ (Read more from “Costco Issues Warning as 10,000 Products Are Recalled Over Salmonella Fears” HERE)

Costco Reportedly Denies Selling Diddy Copious Amounts of Baby Oil for Now-Infamous ‘Freak-Offs’

A spokesperson for Costco reportedly denied selling baby oil to Diddy after the rapper’s lawyer built a defense by claiming he may have bought from them in bulk.

Authorities said in the indictment that they seized over “1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant” from Diddy’s estate, and allegations against the star suggested the oil was used during wild “freak off” parties. Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo recently spoke with TMZ and attempted to defend his client by saying the baby oil had nothing to do with the alleged sexual exploits. He suggested Diddy may have simply purchased the oil in bulk from Costco. Costco’s representative quickly slapped back by claiming none of the company’s U.S. locations carry baby oil at all, according to TMZ.

Coscto’s spokesperson insisted this item is simply not part of their stock — a fact that appears to be confirmed by perusing their website. . .

The federal indictment specifically says that “baby oil” was seized. Agnifilo boldly addressed this precise point in the upcoming TMZ documentary, “The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment.” He told the outlet he doubted the government seized the number of bottles they claim to have seized, and challenged the matter further by specifically suggesting Costco as the store Diddy may have utilized for bulk orders.

This is a bad look for Diddy and Agnifilo, who had just announced that music mogul would be taking the stand and testifying in his own criminal case. (Read more from “Costco Reportedly Denies Selling Diddy Copious Amounts of Baby Oil for Now-Infamous ‘Freak-Offs’” HERE)

Costco Exec Reveals Whether Historic Inflation Will Raise Price of Hot Dog and Soda Combo

Costco CFO Richard Galanti revealed last Thursday that its famous hot dog-and-soda combo deal of $1.50 will remain in place despite record-high inflation.

At an earnings call, Galanti said the profit margins the company is seeing in the gas and travel sectors allow Costco to make up for losses at the food court.

“Those things help us be more aggressive in other areas, or as you mentioned, hold the price on the hot dog and the soda … forever,” Galanti told an analyst from Truist Securities.

Galanti said Costco was fortunate in that it did not struggle like other businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The enormity of the improvement in the bottom line … we’re better than we were two years ago,” he said. (Read more from “Costco Exec Reveals Whether Historic Inflation Will Raise Price of Hot Dog and Soda Combo” HERE)

400K Chinese Items Pulled off Costco Shelves Over Dangerous Defect

Over 400,000 patio umbrellas sold at big box retailer Costco have been recalled due to a malfunction that can cause them to burst into flames.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued the recall announcement this week after six reported incidents of product malfunction.

“The firm has received six reports of the lithium-ion batteries overheating,” the commission wrote. “This includes three reports of solar panels catching fire while charging via the AC adapter indoors and two reports of umbrellas catching fire when the solar panel puck overheated and caught fire while attached to the umbrella and one smoke inhalation injury.” . . .

Costco announced Friday that they would be removing a popular product from store shelves due to the possibility of the product containing small traces of metal or glass.

Costco announced a recall for the popular beverage mix Kool-Aid Tropical Punch, according to a letter sent to Costco members who recently bought the product.
