Ultra-Woke Google Drops Racial Hiring Targets, Will ‘Review’ DEI Practices

Google, the wokest company in all of Silicon Valley, is eliminating its racial hiring quotas and reviewing its DEI programs, joining other tech giants rethinking their approach to “diversity.”

The Wall Street Journal reports that Google announced on Wednesday that it will no longer set specific hiring targets based on race. This decision comes as part of a broader pullback from DEI efforts across Silicon Valley, with companies like Meta and Amazon also scaling back their diversity initiatives.

Google’s move marks a notable reversal from its 2020 commitment to increase the proportion of leadership roles held by “underrepresented groups” by 30 percent by 2025. The announcement was made in an email to employees, which also revealed that the company is currently evaluating the continuation of its annual diversity report, a practice it has maintained since 2014.

The tech giant said it is reviewing its DEI-related grants, training, and initiatives to assess their impact and potential risks. This review is partially in response to recent court decisions and executive orders by President Trump aimed at curbing DEI efforts in the government and among federal contractors.

This is a titanic shift for ultra-woke Google, which infamously launched its Gemini AI image creator in 2024 which rewrote history to include “underrepresented” groups.” (Read more from “Ultra-Woke Google Drops Racial Hiring Targets, Will ‘Review’ DEI Practices” HERE)

Lloyd Austin’s Ex-Chief of Staff Attacks Pete Hegseth Over Plane Crash

Former President Joe Biden’s Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, and former Chief of Staff, Kelly Magsamen, have sparked controversy by launching a personal attack on Pete Hegseth after a fatal plane crash involving a military helicopter and an American Airlines aircraft. In a sharp rebuke, the former defense official, who helped Austin cover up his absence from the Pentagon during a health crisis in January 2024, attacked Hegseth for his comments about DEI and falsely accused him of blaming the female co-pilot, Capt. Rebecca Lobach, for the incident.

Fox News Pentagon reporter Jennifer Griffin first reported on Magsamen’s comments toward Hegseth, accusing him of mismanaging his first crisis as the secretary of defense under the Trump administration, adding that “so far it’s not a good sign.”

More from Magsamen’s remarks:

Secretary Hegseth has a lot to learn. When you speak as the Secretary of Defense, the entire force and their families are listening. They are looking to him for leadership and support, not suspicion. For him to imply that this pilot was not qualified because of her gender is absurd. He should be supporting a thorough unbiased investigation and supporting all three of these Army families. To add a layer of stress to this one family in their time of grief is shocking. Imagine having to worry about political attacks on your daughter while grieving. The Secretary should be showing leadership and consoling the families and overseeing an unbiased investigation. This is the first crisis he has had to manage and so far it’s not a good sign.

However, while Hegseth spoke broadly about DEI initiatives, he did not blame DEI for the deadly crash that killed all sixty-four passengers and crew onboard the American Airlines plane, as well as the three crew members on the Black Hawk. Instead, he said the crew members were “fairly experienced.” (Read more from “Lloyd Austin’s Ex-Chief of Staff Attacks Pete Hegseth Over Plane Crash” HERE)

Trump Was Right: FAA Turned Away Qualified Controllers Over Race

On Thursday, while addressing Thursday’s plane crash near Washington, D.C., President Donald Trump blasted both the Obama and Biden administrations for prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives within the Federal Aviation Administration and the Department of Transportation.

“I put safety first. Obama, Biden, and the Democrats put policy first, and they put politics at a level that nobody’s ever seen,” Trump told reporters in the White House briefing room. . .

“It’s one thing for internet pundits to spew up conspiracy theories,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said. “It’s another for the president of the United States of America to throw out idle speculation even as victims are still being recovered and families are still being notified. It turns your stomach.”

But Trump was not wrong.

In fact, concerns about the FAA’s DEI policies are not new. Critics have long argued that these policies have distracted from essential safety measures, particularly during a period marked by air traffic controller shortages, outdated equipment, and an increase in near misses. Reports indicate that the air traffic controller on duty during the incident was effectively managing the responsibilities of two people. Trump’s Department of Education Ends DEI Initiatives, ‘Biden’s Book Ban Hoax’

President Donald Trump’s Department of Education (DoEd) began eliminating diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and squashed what it called “Biden’s Book Ban Hoax” in the first week of Trump’s second term.

In response to Trump’s executive order cracking down on DEI in the federal government, as well as guidance from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), the department said it removed or archived hundreds of DEI guidance documents, reports, and training materials from its outward facing communication channels. The DoEd said it also put employees in charge of leading DEI initiatives on paid administrative leave.

“These actions are in line with President Trump’s ongoing commitment to end illegal discrimination and wasteful spending across the federal government. They are the first step in reorienting the agency toward prioritizing meaningful learning ahead of divisive ideology in our schools,” the department said in a press release.

The department specifically eliminated its Diversity & Inclusion Council, which was established via executive order by then-President Barack Obama. Trump rescinded that Obama-era executive order and issued a new one called “Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing,” which ultimately terminated the council, along with the Employee Engagement Diversity Equity Inclusion Accessibility Council (EEDIAC) within the Office for Civil Rights (OCR).

Bureaucrats Privately Fume About Trump Abolishing DEI, Go Into Full Conspiracy Mode

Numerous current and former government employees are complaining and commiserating about the end of internal federal diversity programs in a private Facebook group, images of which have been obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The bureaucrats — mostly current or former employees of the Department of the Interior’s (DOI) National Park Service (NPS) — likened President Donald Trump’s newly-announced push to root out internal federal “diversity, equity and inclusion” (DEI) programs to McCarthyism and sharply criticized Trump’s orders on the issue. The Trump administration has vowed to discipline federal employees who resist implementing the anti-DEI policy and sent memos to agency personnel with an email address to use for reporting attempts to sidestep the new guidelines.

A Wednesday post to the group by an employee of the Department of Agriculture (USDA), included a screenshot of an email that was sent to USDA employees this week outlining Trump’s new policy on DEI. The email featured in the post included the tip line email address to report violations of the new Trump policy.

“Email I received earlier from USDA about ending [DEI] programs. It’s like the 1950s when they were asking people to rat out their neighbors for being a suspected communist,” the USDA employee wrote in the post.

“For those still in federal employment, reminder that as part of the job you have sworn to uphold and defend the constitution. Not making this as a hint for this specific screenshot, but just in general,” one former USDA employee commented. Why Do Red State Policymakers Fund DEI Required Course in Public Universities?

No one is surprised that the cows in the Chik-fil-A ads advocate for eating more chicken. It would be shockingly irrational, however, if the chickens joined the campaign by paying the cows to carry their “Eat Mor Chikin” signs. Yet, this is exactly what Republican state legislators in 10 conservative states are doing when they devote several hundred million dollars each year to pay for diversity, equity, and inclusion required courses in their states’ public universities.

According to a new study by the Goldwater Institute, 30 states have public universities that require their students to take at least one course on “diversity, equity, and inclusion” to graduate. Ten of those states have Republican-controlled state legislatures, including Texas, Ohio, and North Carolina. It makes sense that state legislators in California or Massachusetts support having their public universities indoctrinate students in the radical ideology that informs the DEI movement, but it is unclear why those in red states stand for this and even allocate public funds to pay for it.

The Goldwater Institute offers very conservative estimates that likely understate the true cost to taxpayers and students of these required DEI courses, placing the price tab at $1.8 billion over a four-year period. In the 10 states with Republican-controlled legislatures, the total is over a half billion dollars.

State legislators have historically been inclined to defer to the faculty and administrators who work for public universities to determine how those institutions are operated. While public universities are public agencies, much like the Department of Motor Vehicles, they have grown accustomed to receiving taxpayer dollars without having to answer to the people or their elected officials for how those funds are used.

The days of handing cash without string to public universities are coming to an end. Several states, including Florida, Texas, and Iowa, have adopted measures to eliminate DEI bureaucracies in their public universities. But so far, only Florida has taken the extra step to review the general education requirements to ensure that DEI-infused courses are not required for students to graduate. Doing so would not only spare students being compelled to endure political indoctrination, but it would also save taxpayers and students several hundred million dollars each year. ‘Celebrating Diversity’: Biden’s Army, Navy Nominees Pushed DEI Ideology While In Uniform

Army and Navy officials recently promoted by President Joe Biden pushed neo-Marxist ideology in the military, The Federalist has learned.

According to a Nov. 15 Pentagon press release, Biden promoted Army Cols. Peter L. Gilbert and Antwan L. Dunmyer to the rank of brigadier general. Gilbert served as commander of the 3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command at Fort Liberty (formerly known as Fort Bragg) in North Carolina, while Dunmyer served as the deputy commander of operations for the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell in Kentucky.

The Federalist has learned that both individuals have promoted ideas affiliated with so-called “diversity, equity, and inclusion” (DEI), an offshoot of neo-Marxist ideology, in their capacities as military officials. As The Federalist previously reported, DEI is a poisonous left-wing framework that dismisses merit and instead discriminates based on characteristics such as skin color and sex.

In early 2021, Gilbert recorded a video message commemorating Black History Month that was posted to the 101st Division Sustainment Brigade’s Facebook page. The Army official served with the brigade from July 2020 to July 2022, according to his LinkedIn profile.

After recognizing the contributions of black Americans in the military throughout U.S. history, Gilbert touted how the 101st Division Sustainment Brigade is “dedicated” to championing “diversity,” which he contended contributes to the force’s overall effectiveness. Biden Promotes DEI-Pushing Air Force Officials On His Way Out The Door

As his disastrous presidency comes to a close, Joe Biden promoted several Air Force officials who have touted neo-Marxist ideology throughout the service.

According to a Pentagon press release, the Democrat president nominated Col. Patric D. Coggin and Brig. Gen. Barbra S. Buls to the ranks of brigadier general and major general, respectively. Coggin currently serves as a commander in the Arkansas Air National Guard, while Buls serves as a commander in the Air National Guard Readiness Center and is stationed at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.

The Federalist has learned that both individuals have outwardly promoted radical left-wing orthodoxy such as “diversity, equity, and inclusion” (DEI) in their capacities as military officials. (DEI demands merit be dismissed in favor of a discriminatory system that prioritizes an individual’s personal features, such as skin color and sexual orientation).

In February 2023, Coggin was a featured guest on the “AR Minuteman Moment,” a podcast that “highlights what the 189th Airlift Wing accomplishes for the community, state and nation.” The Air Force colonel’s joint interview alongside Chief Master Sgt. Regina L. Monk, a black female, focused on Black History Month and, as the episode description reads, “what we can do as leaders to ensure our Airmen grow up in the Air National Guard with the best outlook on inclusion for all.”

After speaking about his experiences growing up, Coggin, a white male, referenced the significance of Black History Month and the progress black Americans have made throughout U.S. history, but claimed the country “still ha[s] a lot further to go.” (Read more from “Biden Promotes DEI-Pushing Air Force Officials On His Way Out The Door” HERE)

Report: The Military’s Obsession With DEI Politics Is Hampering Its Readiness

The main mission of the U.S. military is to protect American lives and interests domestically and abroad with the most capable personnel available. But what happens when that objective gets sidelined in favor of advancing a neo-Marxist agenda?

According to a recently published report by Will Thibeau, director of the American Military Project at the Claremont Institute, the U.S. military’s embrace of radical left-wing orthodoxy is hampering its overall readiness and ability to respond to an increasingly volatile geopolitical environment. Titled, “Identity in the Trenches: The Fatal Impact of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion on U.S. Military Readiness,” the analysis explores how the military’s heightened obsession with racial and gender politics is contributing to these growing problems.

“The United States Armed Forces were once the envy of the world, in large part because we selected the best of the best, and instilled in our fighting men an unshakeable military ethos,” the report reads. “Both the ethos and the selection, however, have been in steady decline as the Department of Defense succumbs to a dangerous ideology: that of group quotas, or forced outcome equality for identity groups based on race and sex.”

While many Americans have come to associate the military’s modern embrace of radical DEI politics with policies enacted under the Biden-Harris administration, the infiltration of neo-Marxist ideology into America’s armed forces began decades prior. What started as a seemingly good-faith effort to eradicate racial discrimination in the military during the Truman administration later devolved into a drawn-out ploy by race-obsessed leftists to “quickly plant[] the seeds of more aggressive racial policies,” according to the report.

Citing policies implemented under Democrat presidents, from Lyndon Johnson to Joe Biden, Thibeau noted how the left-wing “transformation” of America’s military “cannot be blamed entirely on progressive presidents.” (Read more from “Report: The Military’s Obsession With DEI Politics Is Hampering Its Readiness” HERE)

Deere Rolls Back Diversity Initiatives After Social Media Backlash

Deere and Tractor Supply have faced online pressure to shelve DEI goals and programs in a campaign fueled by conservative activist Robby Starbuck, who has leveraged the companies’ rural customer base to encourage a boycott.

“We’re a powerful force to be reckoned with,” Starbuck said on X, formerly known as Twitter, following the Deere announcement. “I won’t rest until we eliminate leftism from corporate America.”

Other companies beyond those catering to rural America have also moved to downsize DEI programs as the groundswell of support for these policies that began in 2020 starts to fade. Earlier this month, Microsoft laid off its DEI team after pouring millions of dollars into the initiative due to “changing business needs,” Business Insider reported.

The changes raise concerns that more companies will continue to downplay diversity goals or remove programs entirely. Starbuck, for example, is still keeping the pressure on Deere to cut DEI altogether after the manufacturer said in its statement that it will still “track and advance diversity.”

“Another huge win in our war on wokeness BUT I don’t think this is enough for customers to go back,” Starbuck wrote following Deere’s announcement. “Customers want to hear that DEI policies are entirely gone.” (Read more from “Deere Rolls Back Diversity Initiatives After Social Media Backlash” HERE)
